Lacp on switches speed

the switch is 2 N4032 with 1 40 g stacking cable. extended frames are not yet activated.

two r720s of dell with lacp ethernet 10g across the two switches. a ubuntu running 16.04, the other debian with kernel 4.4.6 jessie.

iperf3 through them shows 8.9 Gbps, which is what I was waiting on a single port. is the gap between the switch slow down to the speed of a?

Aggregation of links kind of can be considered a road. Adding extra lanes to the highway will pass total number cars that can be on the road and reduce congestion. However, the limit speed of the road remains the same.

Your results are correct and are the behaviour expected of an OFFSET.

  • Fan of D4T - 1500 HP continuous switching speed between hi and lo

My laptop is switching speed between lo and hi when the battery and the AC adapter / CC are connected.  If disconnected the unit is operating normally.  It does not matter if I have a window open, 3, 6...   I replaced the original battery (2009) with a battery 8800mAh to increase time between charges about 6 months ago.  The battery has a bump to raise the notebook off the surface, it's on and improve the flow of air.  Everything was fine until a few days ago.  The Unit feels not hot when the bike fan starts but stops immediately after disconnecting the adapter or pulling on the battery.  Any thoughts?  Thank you.

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP Pavilion dv4t-1500 Notebook and having issues with the fan switch to salvation and weak. Try perform a reset. When you perform a hard reset note remove all USB devices and remove cards memory card reader location. Disconnect all non-essential devices. If that doesn't help try to turn on the computer, on which you begin to press F11 repeatedly until the menu opens. You can do a System Restore. System Restore will return the computer before this fan problem began.

Here is a link to test and calibrate the battery. Here is a link to test the ac adapter.

If everything fails, you can try to restore the default BIOS. This would force the machine to look at what the material is on the laptop.

  • LAPAC1750PRO & Cisco 2960-S - LACP issues Switch

    Hello community,

I currently have a layer 2 Cisco 2960-S switch. It has 48 port Gigabit Ethernet ports and 4 SFP ports. I have Setup 3 VLAN on the switch VLAN 10, 11, 255. VLAN 10 is for my home equipment, VLAN 11 for my Audio/video/server equipment and VLAN255 is my network of comments. It's all behind a normal router from D-Link 4 port every day. All correctly connected working processes.

I have the LAPAC1750PRO access point, I went ahead and ran 2 Cat6 cables so I could take advantage of the link aggregation 802.3d of the Access Point. I configured the passage from what I can tell properly. The problem is that when I turn on the two links AP causes beating port and stop passing traffic. If I disable the second link (leaving the active primary link) everything is stable. Speed is decent on my laptop, and from my iPad, it's fantastic.

Does anyone have experience using the Protocol LACP (link Aggreagtion 802.3d) with this Access Point? I really want to use this so I can get 2 Gbps throughput of this device to my other devices.

I'll be happy to post my Cisco Configuration so if someone is paid enough in that as well.

    Thank you

    Senior Network Engineer

OK - I thought about it. He was not at all a problem with the switch or my setup. This is the problem...

Here's the question – and how I fixed it.

    1 cisco switch - Configuration:

    !

    GigabitEthernet1/0/1 interface
    switchport access vlan 10
    switchport mode access
    spanning tree portfast
    channel-group mode 1 on

    !

    interface GigabitEthernet1/0/2
    switchport access vlan 10
    switchport mode access
    spanning tree portfast
    channel-group mode 1 on

That's right - this force LACP on the unit and do not have to worry about negotiating/connections protocols.

    2. access point - if it is already configured - factory reset the unit. LACP must be enabled during active keybord with DHCP boot. After that you can configure it as you want.

What I had to do so was by default the access point and let it be starting with LACP rebuild - I wonder if this is due to something in the firmware that, once the NIC is configured, they become hardcoded and do not change to different settings?

Whatever it is - this problem is solved.

  • Lacp 3560 switch circuits

I'm trying to run a trunk on a four port Lacp group to a form of switch netgear a 3560 but am stuck. Everything works fine if I place a chest with a single autonomous port, and that everything works when I use a group of Lacp 'switchport access' mode, but as soon as I activate "switchport trunk" each gi status goes to "suspended" and no traffic flows.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you.

    Andrew,

Thank you for the additional information. The configuration of the ports seems to be ok now.

After the Show etherchannel , physical ports are individual-State. This would mean that the switches did not negotiate the creation of the Association using the LACP Protocol and ports still work as four individual switchports.

The neighboring switch talking LACP? If he is put in LACP active mode? At least one device must be in LACP active state, and both must talk to LACP. Maybe you could try to replace orders 1 channel-group passive mode 1 mode channel-group active in your configuration.

    Best regards

  • I switched speed by half. When I restarted Firefox it tries to connect to every web page of my previous session to refresh the pages. This choking my connection. How can I stop this action of auto-refresh? Thank you.

I want my new session to reload my web pages of the previous session of THE CACHE and do not try to reload on every page of the internet. I can start Firefox with the modem disconnected to avoid this problem, but this can take 3 to 5 minutes for Firefox to open this way. (I see the modem flashes as Firefox attempts to connect at this time). If my 56.6 modem is connected, it should be > 60 minutes. (28.8 is the highest speed available in rural areas).

  • USB 6008 switching speed relay? Delay through software?

    Hi guys,.

I have a Setup with a USB6008 which control some relays. However, I'm unable to get the relay to go fairly quickly. I can see by the USB6008 that the digital output ports have a speed of 150 Hz, which equals 6 m I want to be able to control the relays at intervals of 10 ms. The relays have a rebound time of 10ms. In theory, it should be just possible. However, I am getting some problems in calendar. Relay ports are open for too long, often in the low hundres of milliseconds. This makes me wonder if there is some sort of delay by turning the relay on or off... My VI is essentially a state machine which, in a State turns on the relay and wait an appropriate amount of milliseconds, and then passes to the next State, who deactivates the relay. The relay is set to simple bool, true and false. I'm sorry, but I am unable to share the VI. But also, it's more a theoretical question within the period that is present when talking about USB data acquisition boxes, I guess.

Where I set up relay tasks, NEITHER Max, I can choose different "modes of generation. "on-demand" and "timed material." How will this affect the speed output digital?

    Thank you in advance,

    Sincerely,

    Peter

When it comes to software distribution, you won't get a lot of precision.  But it sounds like you are using the next ms Multiple value 50ms somewhere in your state machine.

  • What switch do you recommend

    Hello

    Brief description of our environment...

    x 1 poweredge R720 with x 4 network ports for iSCSI
    x 2 poweregde R710 with x 4 network ports for iSCSI
    x 1 poweregde R610 with x 2 network ports for iSCSI

    x 2 PS6100E EQL
    x 2 PS4100E EQL
    x 2 PS6000 EQL
    X 4 PS5000 EQL

Everything is distributed evenly between two floors of the building by using SyncRep and regular replication on the EQL boxes and using a VMware HA and DRS cluster on hosts.
Physically separate networks for iSCSI network and production.

We use 5448 powerconnect on the iSCSI network switches. One PC5448 for each floor and they are connected with x 4 fiber LACP trunk link.

I know that these switches have to be replaced, but what? PC6248, PC7048 or Force10? Perhaps even another manufacturer? If so which model? The price IS a decisive factor, I don't have the budget for expensive stuff

Check the support matrix Equallogic to get an idea of what switches are validated and supported / recommended. It is not limited only the Dell switches (Cisco, Juniper and Brocade options listed there).

First, you'll want to upgrade to double switches on each floor and LACP together. You can stack them, but this has the drawback that if ever you want to / need to upgrade the firmware of the switch in one or both of the rooms, you'll need 100% service interruptions in this room.

In my next part I'll stick to switches Dell since it is a Dell message board.

I would skip the PC6200 series unless your budget can not install a switch better. The 6200 is a decent switch, but it's on its way out (this can be seen by the fact that Dell has not updated the firmware on the switch since the 3.3 series (all 7 k and higher switches are now on a firmware 5.x).) The Force10 S25 series is better than this PC7024 a switch, but if you plan to switch to 10 GB at some point, you may consider a pair of 8132 s PowerConnect in each room. The non - F version uses RJ45 ports that can make 1Gbit and 10 GB, then you can use to start just the current units of EQL, but new units could be 10Gbit units. You want to get the QSFP + optional modules for each switch and 2 wires for each pair, so you can use these 2 40Gbit LACP ports switches set in each room.

If you want to use a LACP between the 2 rooms consisting of two switches, you have a more difficult choice to make; stack the switches (with the disadvantage that I mentioned above), or upgrade to Force10 S4820s that these offer the possibility to make a channel of port on 2 non-Stack switches (PowerConnect firmware does not offer this).

Cisco and Brocade offer similar characteristics (to execute a LACP on 2 switches non-Stack), but I do not know what exact firmware and/or switches that would offer.

  • Connection to the SAN switch upstream

I'm having a problem getting a green light on the interconnection 6248 (end-host FC mode) and IBM/Brocade FC switch (speed of the 4GB port currently) upstream.

Side 6248, I have a 8 G 4 GB SFP and SFP (Cisco DS-SFP-FC8G-SW) in the SAN upstream switch. 6248 attached to the FC switch ports are configured as uplink ports? What other measures are necessary for interconnections to see the storage EMC VNX Bay?

    Thank you

Before that, I discovered that you need to configure ports on the interconnections as CF and not the ethernet ports by clicking "Configure the Ports unified" on the General tab for each interconnection and adjusting the slider, and then select the ports (right click)... At least that was my problem... lol

  • Control of low level of the PXI-2596

How to control a PXI-2506 Mux 26.5 GHz Dual 6 x 1 chassis PXI-1042 a code 'C' with a minimum of drivers? We want to use our own code, not of LabView, just plain 'C '. Also, we prefer to use our own controller (Linix based) shipped without a slot for a PXI card (if possible). Is there like a simple series or ethernet interface to control the boards housed in the PXI-1042 chassis? The switching speed is very low, it is part of a manufacturing test system, we want to use the PXI-1042 with several 6 x 1 Mux inside for instruments RF switching in of the DUT.

    Hi eirlund,

    In response to your questions:

Is there a simple series or ethernet interface to control the boards housed in the PXI-1042 chassis?

    • Chassis PXI itself contains only the connections for the PXI bus and some timing and triggering and power for the cards. This white paper explains the PXI architecture in many more details: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/52018/en/

    • In order to be interfaced with the cards that you need to use a controller Embedded PXI or a remote control which allows you to use another computer in place and place an on-board controller. A remote control can be easier to apply to what you're after however there are some limitations regarding the use under Linux. More information on what the remote controllers can be found here: http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/10359

We want to use our own code, not of LabView, just plain 'C '.

    • You should always use the relevant drivers for the hardware you are using, in this case NOR-Switch and NI PXI Platform Services if you are using a remote control.

    • These drivers work with LabWindows/CVI which adds additional tools to facilitate the programming intended for the material OR in C, this means that it should be possible to use these drivers of C, but there is less evidence for this

Also, we prefer to use our own controller shipped (Linux-based) without a slot for a PXI card (if possible)

    • If this is possible will depend in part on the question of whether the version of Linux you are using is supported. You can look into this further here: http://www.ni.com/product-documentation/52786/en/

    • In addition, you will need a PCI slot or a slot ExpressCard to connect to a remote installation program with

I hope that this information gives you somewhere to start to consider whether what you want to do is doable?

  • ZR2240w display: LCD IPS LED or TFT?

Hello. I'm considering the purchase of two HP ZR 2240w poster but I find conflicting information on this display model. In most of the information provided in the HP Web sites this display appears as a screen technology IPS LED but when I download the guide of the user on the site of HP, the specifications page shows the display as having facilitated TFT LCD. I'm not an expert, but I think they are different technologies.

I contacted HP pre-sales support that was not prepared to help. I have also contacted HP chat support that claim not to have the tools to help me. Can someone clear this up for me?

    Thank you.

P.S.This thread has been moved from Macintosh compatible products for monitor-HP Forums Moderat

TFT LCD is the block of building modern flat-screen basis. It is based on a liquid crystal display using transistors in thin film deposited on a glass substrate. These transistors are switching of liquid crystals that either allows the light to pass or block light to pass through the liquid crystals. Light is produced by the CRTS or the leds and it goes through red, green and blue filters that are sitting on each pixel of void. In this way the display can create color.

There are different types of screens LCD TFT, TN (twisted numatics) is commonly used by players as it passes very fast power pixels, so there is little or no ghosting, IPS (In Plane Switching) is commonly used where angles with wide vision accurate colors are more important than the switching speed (ghosting).

Thus, calling something a TFT LCD screen is always accurate. An LCD IPS the call display something is even more specific that the TFT LCD display type is specified. Say that a display uses IPS LED technology is also more accurate that you specify the TFT LCD technology and lighting technology.

But calling something a LED screen is not exactly true that the current state of the display technology means we are really talking a TFT LCD screen with backlight LED and not individual RGB LED that comprise the sub-pixels in a display. A true LED display is a legacy emissive subpixels emerge from the colorful light, rather than having a low glow similar to colorful shutters something light.  When you hear LED poster today, consider that there marketing speak for TFT LCD display with LED backlighting

If you are interested, the TFT LCD wiki can probably explain more about the technology that I can always hope.

So back to the ZR2240, if the specifications say the display uses IPS LED technology, it must have good angles of vision and color reproduction and using of LED backlight it will use much less energy, so cold to the touch. (Compare this to my Dell U2711 is a panel IPS 27 "and using cathode ray tubes, so it becomes very hot and uncomfortable when you're sitting in front of two of these monitors for long periods).

Also, the fact that the user guide indicates that the TFT LCD is without real consequence in the present document focuses more on the cable to the top and use the monitor, which is always a TFT LCD after all, that of property to specify the type and the capacity of this TFT LCD IPS monitor that uses LED backlighting.

  • REALLY basic question about SG200 - 50 p

My question is: no matter what switch port I connect my router port to, or are all the ports on the switch 50 identical?

Background: I have a switch SG200 - 50 p in my house.  I struggled to find the cause of the slow who produce despite the consistent low ping times and speed of Web page loading tests. Page load speed is variable, making it harder for me to unravel, but stagnating always to some extent. However, when I bypass the Cisco switch and connect a computer directly to my router (a gateway uVerse), speeds seem to be very reliable. Then, when I move the cable (from the bridge) to an another Cisco switch ports (one of expansion ports) and then reconnected the computer switch, speeds are now equivalent, directly from the router and through the switch.

My conclusions are just a coincidence?

Thanks a lot for any idea.

    Hello

Please try to hard code speed and duplex on switch connected to the router port, the latency would be due to collisions on this link.

    Hello

I have a little questions about the le parameters option HAIP redundant Interconnection offered since version 11.2.0.2 and later on the GI.

Reading some MOS Note () NOTE: 1210883.1 - Grid Infrastructure redundant Interconnect and ora.cluster_interconnect.haip) said it is recommended to use this option instead of using options as limited to the operating system level.

(( However, the highly available IP (note) HAIP) FAQ for version 11.2 () Doc ID 1664291.1) say:

HAIP, allowing redundant clusters of interconnection network adapters on the cluster nodes without requiring any OS level liaison, grouping or grouping of network cards.

HAIP provides a layer of transparency between several (NIC) Network Interface cards on a given node, which are used for the cluster_interconnect that is used by RDBMS and ASM instances.

However it is not used for the pulsation of the Clusterware network.

What it means that the heart rate won't don't not in high availability?

And are not do not the ability to perform failover on another network card.

    Can he say that?

    Hello

You can check with your hardware vendor (server) if it takes support LACP & LAG.  You will need to configure LACP wich switch LACP support.

Some OS have it native... (for example, Solaris, AIX etc..)  x86_64 platform have a software player to configure (such as Dell, HP, etc.).

If you have feature LACP in your approx... You must use HAIP.

  • Several virtual machines attached to port VM group

    Hi all

So I did research on the internet and on this forum and I have not found a good answer to my question. So I would check that I can create a unique Virtual Machine port group and attach multiple virtual machines and run them simultaneously. I basically want to have each VM attached to this switch, but instead to a separate port group, it seems that I can just attach to the same port group that puts on the vSwitch.

Is there problems of L2 with MAC address or ARPing or something like that? I realize that I have to ensure that each VM has correctly configured the IP settings. I know there are problems, but I am wanting clarification of the people who have done this before. Are there problems of interface as with a real switch speed or who is not serious in a vSwitch?

    Thank you!

    -GNS

You can attach multiple virtual machines to the same group of port without problems, this is how normally environment are created. Have a look here for more details: vSphere Standard switches

The image below shows several virtual machines connected to the same port group:
