  Boot option should be UEFI. Disable secure boot, and then on the Advanced tab > Integrated devices: change SATA AHCI mode.

  If the problem persists, press F9 to return to the default settings.

• Laptop running Windows 7 does not start if the external hard drive is connected

  I know what is already on a thread, but here it is again (i.e. thread became uncontrollable anyway and did not offer me solutions). I have an ASUS K53S laptop computer Series and use it as a desktop PC. It sits on my desk and never move, I plugged my larger screen, a keyboard and mouse, printer and external hard drive that I keep all my information on i rarely save to local disk. These things represent more than ports USB to the laptop, I have a hub 4 ports on there also. It is just background information; I mean, the laptop is a must.

  Here's the problem: when I start, as I do every morning, I used to see ASUS inspire Innovation - first of all, persistent Perfection for about 1 second, then the laptop will just get on the job and complete its start-up in about a minute (including login). Which was very good until a few days ago when things started slows down a bit, then I rebooted as I always used to with my Windows XP tour. All closed but return is reactivated and it hung on the opening screen of ASUS and show no signs of getting further. I went outside and continued on another work that does not need a computer, thinking that if I ignored it it would be bit go further, but I came back hours later to find that it is always locked.

  Hi, I installed an ssd in my computer and he cloned with the included software of Samsung in order to use it as my boot disk with the hard drive as additional storage space. Everything I did, but when I went into the bios to change the boot drive, that it froze. After waiting a while I hard reset it and now when I start it up I see the Alienware logo and model number, but it stays there and nothing else happens. I can also not press F2 to enter the bios more.

  I solved the problem. I removed the cmos for 10 minutes battery and it booted up fine. Thanks for the help tho.

  If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

  Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

• Alienware Aurora r4 does not start with new graphics card.

  I have an alienware aurora end of 2012 I believe.

  I currently have a series of 6800 AMD raedon graphics card, processor 3930 r9 k i7 and 8 GB of ram.

  I recently bought a MSI gtx 970 game to replace my old graphics card. I plug this card and it even lights up when I turn on the computer, but however my pc only happens to the start screen where I get the choice after pressing F2 and F12 and then freezes and I can't do anything. I then hear 3 beeps of inside my pc and then it proceeds to a blackscreen where my only choice is to turn it off manually.

  I tried to uppgrade my BIOS without much success (dident make it work), uninstall all graphics drivers from AMD, but nothing has changed.

  So I'm clueless I'm kinda a noob of the pc and have no idea what could cause this and would love help to explain what happens if all goes well if anyone knows a fix.

  You you connected all power cables required PCIe 970? They are probably different config as AMD-6800. You should have 875w PS, but you might need to check that.

  Probably should have uninstalled AMD Driver Suite (catalyst) before removing the card from AMD.

  If card MSI BIOS a double switch, you can try another position.

  Try Mode Windows safe.

  What operating system do you use? Are you running the UEFI BIOS or legacy Mode?

  Yesterday morning I shut down my computer to install windows updates (16 to be precise) and when I got up about 8 hours later it was 11. Then I went to work and came home 12 hours later and my computer was turned off. So I thought it's over.   If it was my pc, I would have removed the button battery on-Board 1-5 minutes to clear my bios settings, reinstall it, turning on, see if my screen came if it did, I would get into the bios, make sure that the sata ahci controller is enabled, and then see if Windows starts.

  Otherwise, switch off; Remove all the cards from your memory. Turning the power on. If your mthrbrd is still alive, only it beeps in the presence of no memory... a quiet mthrbrd without memory is a bad sign...

  As already written boarder is not easy to say why this is happening. With own laptop preinstalled, obviously, everything works fine.

  So what you need to do is to disable the automatic update of Windows.
  Chose the option check for updates but let me choose when... and before enable update checking the list of all the available updates.
  Be sure only important updates will be installed. Do not install the updates defined as optional.

I was able to save info goes into System Recovery Manager, but I don't see an option to create recovery disks to install the system on a replacement hard drive.   I have a problem with my HP DV7-7259nr laptop, WIN8 running: it does not start after tune recommended to update BIOS and drivers.

  I need the customer also installed on my phone (Samsung X 460 runs teacher WinXP SP3) BUT the client does NOT work - error message is:

  Installation files have been downloaded from the same EXSi server and we are not aware of major differences between the applications installed on both machines.

  Installation completed successfully on the laptop, but the client does not start...
