Laptop G72

I try to find the entire model of my new laptop, but all I can find is "G72. I need to know the model name - where can I find it? It is not on the portable reality itself. In addition, the screen was broken. Where can I fix this? I can't find anything online because I don't know the model number.

Thank you.

try to remove the battery, the model number, should see the product number (P/N) and serial number (S/N) which should be included here. If it is to order a new screen, the P/N you need.

  • Replacing the WIFI card for laptop G72

    Hi all

I think that I have given up trying to fix my current card WiFi RALINK RT3090 because for some reason any it simply stopped working since last Thursday.

Am looking to buy a replacement one but don't know with all these terminologies

The repair, I found the sub elements:

    -Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n WiFi adapter 1 1 x
    -Module WLAN 802.11b/g/n 1 x 2 Intel Centrino Wireless - N 1000
    -Realtek RTL8191SE 802.11b/g/n 1 x 1 WiFi adapter (for 1.0 and 1.1 only models)
    -Adapter of WiFi 802.11b/g/n 1 x 1 Broadcom 4313
    -4313 Broadcom 802.11b/g/n WiFi 1 x 1 and 2070 Bluetooth 2.1 + adapter Combo BDU (BT3.0 + HS ready) (for models 1.1 and 1.2 only)
    -802.11b/g/n Ralink RT3090BC4 1 x 1 WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Combo Adapter (BT3.0 + HS ready) (for models 1.1 and 1.2 only)

All I'm looking for is something that connects with my router that is currently configured for 2.4 Ghz (can go up to 5 GHz but not looking for it) and get the best connectivity possible and if I choose to use my Smart TV with DLNA technology.

Q1: Will all these above mentioned work card WLAN on my G72 (it is B02SA or B20SA) portable or can be picked up any other WLAN card (mini/low-profile if I'm not mistaken, that's what we call them)

Q2: What is "for 1.0 and 1.1 only models"?

Q3: Which of them will give me better speeds and possible connetivity?

Q4: My previous card Ralink RT3090BC4 gave me several questions whenever I have to reinstall my OS so don't want the hassle

    Thanks to all in advance.

Thanks a lot for the answer once for more erico.

I'll keep your recommendation in mind.

You would be so kind to answer my original question which will help me a lot

Q1: Will all these above mentioned work card WLAN on my G72 (it is B02SA or B20SA) portable or can be picked up any other WLAN card (mini/low-profile if I'm not mistaken, that's what we call them). Check in the download section to check if the drivers are available. This nmeans that support BIOS is present.
Q2: What is "for 1.0 and 1.1 only models"? It's information that can only be obtained at HP internally. It is likely to be market designations for models for the specific world regions.
Q3: Which of them will give me better speeds and possible connetivity? Module Intel uses the drivers Intel is more reliable.
Q4: My previous card Ralink RT3090BC4 gave me several questions whenever I have to reinstall my OS so don't want the hassle. I also had problems with this module in the past. I prefer Intel and Realtek.

You should consider browsing the forums on the sites of BIOS mod your laptop from warranty. There is a risk attached to the use of modded BIOS, you will have to accept. Modded BIOS files can remove blacklists of module.

  • Help, please! computer HP laptop g72 does not load windows

I can't get my laptop to initialize. I was it clean and running virus/spyware scans when it overheated and judgment (something he seems to do more in more often lately), I came back to the room to check on it and he stopped. He gave me the usual message about how he had disappeared in hibernation because the internal temperature exceeded blah blah blah (don't remember exactly what he said, but it wasn't the basics of it) now normally at this stage it will restart and be well and I can continue with what I was doing before. However this time it will not go beyond the second screen. It's what he does... (I will include the information in the end system)

I press the power button then screen shows the following

1 HP screen of the logo with the message "Press ESC for Boot Menu" at the bottom left then flashes to the next screen.

    2. starting Acronis Loader...
Press F11 for Acronis Startup Recovery Manager... (horizontal cursor flashing after...) then flashes to view the first screen again

and this process is repeated again and again until I got disabling or press ESC to #1 screen or F11 to the screen #2 how it will load either the menu start screen where I can access info sys diagnotics, BIOS or system recovery system.  or Acronis where I can make backup dics or start the Recovery Manager (who I'm trying to deal with the system if that is possible at this time because there are pictures and things on the hard drive that I want not deleted if it can be avoided)

the process is normal to start but after #2 it should be blank with blinking cursor and then begin loading windows... I cannot at this point. He repeates just the first two times, I let it run for about 10 minutes at a time to see if she would do anything else, and it won't.

    System info-

    BIOS date: 08/11/2010

    BIOS version: F.26

    Processor speed: 1866 MHz

Operating system: Windows 7 premium 64-bit

I bought this computer used. The battery has never held a charge, I've always had it up to use it, but I don't know if I had to buy a new battery it would probably work. I never had the money to make and never really needed it so never bought.

I tried to access the BIOS and it requires system administrator password. I tried to enter my password that I used to connect to windows, but that did not work. After 3 tries I have a message to disable the system with [6207076] below.

Is there someone who can help me to fix it?

I really don't want System recover unless there is a way to access the LIBRARY (documents, music, pictures) if I can help it. I don't have the ability to transfer all of my photos from my other computer before that happened.

    Please help me!

    Hello

The code below should allow you access the bios menu:

    76165078

Once, I would like to delete the password entirely - use the arrow keys to select the Security tab and press ENTER.  Use the arrow keys again to select the admin password option and press ENTER.  Enter the current password (use the above code), and then for the new password, just leave this blank and press on enter – do the same for the confirmation field.  Press f10, select this option to save the new settings and press to enter.

Once completed, boot into the bios menu and reset the default settings - it may also be useful running a quick diagnostic on the HARD disk and the memory that is to be found under the Advanced or the diagnosis tab.

    Kind regards

  • Video laptop G72 dies after start upward

I have a G72 with the Radeon 5470 gpu.  2 days ago, my wife received a blue screen on Windows 7 x 64, stating that the driver had stopped working.  At go here the G72 not would make on the desktop without the screen goes dead.  The machine starts in safe mode fine.   I tried as much as I could think to solve this problem, but finally backed its data and restored at the factory.   The problem persisted and I ended up disabling the ATI card in the control panel.  The machine seemed to work after that.   I have begain long BONE up to current curing process.  About 2 sets of updates after Win 7 SP1 the problem came back.   I started in safe mode and checked the driver and discovered that it had been reactivated.  I tried to disable it again and reboot.  Sometimes she remains disabled through reboot, but sometimes it isn't.  At this point the machine turns to a black screen (video not only in black but dead) after that I sign.   This was without taking into account the option enable or disable the status on the ATI card.

Then...   I tried to make another hook the operating system and got to half way through.  Installing Windows now tries to restart and after that the machine is in place, the screen goes dead.

Any suggestions?   Is there a way to disable the card in the bios?  It can be physically removed the card?

    Thank you.

Thanks for your help on this.  The hard reset doesn't change anything.

After about 20 restarts, I could lift the machine with a regular VGA driver and reinstall the driver of IntelHD.  I can now go to full resolution.  I agree that the ATI card is broken.  Probably because of the heat. (just my opinion)

For all those running in this kind of failure the key here is persistence.  Keep restarting in safe mode and disable the ATI card in Device Manager, and eventually, you will get a clean boot.  Once you have a clean boot, install your Intel drivers and be happy that you have a laptop and not a brick.

    Peace.

  • reuse the heat sink with fan for computer laptop G72 nine?

    Greetings!

I need to replace the fan on my laptop and see several put on sale with the correct part below number... but many only list the fan without heatsink at reasonable prices, but only a few include the heatsink and the cost much more!  Anyone know if the heat sink can be removed from my old fan and reused by a new one or are inseparable?  The full model is G72-B60US, which is also called a "xg988ua.  Thanks in advance!

Heatsink with fan module - UMA

They are separable, and given that the radiator is actually a piece of metal is probably defective. It is a bit of a chore to remove the old fan and install the new in the old radiator but can be done.

    Also tried:

    1. remove the battery

    2. remove the power adapter

    3. hold the PWR button for 1 minute

and various combinations of these elements.

Previously, the battery had been unable to take more than 30 minutes of charge, so I'd bet on the power brick. Powered by OK this morning. Used for about an hour. I left for a few minutes, and when I came back he was dead.

    Now what?

    Oh!

The bathroom circuit breaker tripped. Had tried other power outlets, but they were all on the same circuit.

Battery had drained downwards. No problem now.

  • Problem with laptop (G72-130ED) of load

    Hi all

The laptop my friend is having some problems with the charger. When the charger is plugged in it will sometimes load for a while and then suddenly stops regardless of the amount of battery remaining. Apparently, when she waits for a few days (not sure of the specific time period) it will load again, but once again only for a little while (sometimes up to what it is completely filled).

    Here are the facts:
The charger works on my laptop, HP Pavilion DV7-1110ED. (if this isn't likely because the charger)
My charger works on his laptop computer, HP G72-130ED. (so it's probably not the plug or battery)

With the battery disconnected, the power button blinks with his charger, but not with mine.
With the battery disconnected, he starts with his charger (maybe after the recovery period it will be), but it will be with mine.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft AC Adapter, just in case where that has nothing, but it didn't.

I tried to Flash the bios to the latest version, as I read that COULD be a solution, but InsydeFlash said the bios got corrupted or had no good digital signature. I'm sure that the bios is not corrupted, but I'm not sure of the digital signature. But then again flashing the bios can do absolutely nothing to fix this.

I'm not completely sure if the charger works on my laptop, my battery refuses to charge at all even with my charger, but my laptop can run completely on its charger. (My laptop is unable to function without a charger, the battery is completely bust and stuck at 41%)

    Summary of specifications:

    Laptop: HP G72-130ED
    OS: Windows 7 64-bit

    Original still installed BIOS

    Thank you in advance,

    Celestral

    Hey Celestral,.

First of all, I want to hard reset the computer. This is a weird question but a hard reset would be the first thing I try. By removing the power of the computer and then allowed him to be reintroduced it can fix issues such as this one.

    To perform a hard reset

Shut down the computer by going to the menu start and select shut down. (If you have no display, hold the button for 5 seconds)
Unplug the adapter from the laptop.
Remove the battery from the bottom of the laptop. There will be a switch/battery eject button.
Wait at least 1 minute with all sources of power disconnected.
Reinsert the battery and reconnect the power adapter, and then try to turn on the laptop.

Also can you check the two power adapters and let me know the specifications (voltage/Watt, etc.) of the two? I have a suspicion that your power adapter that works on your PC can be a higher voltage.

    Thank you
    Sean
