Laptop HP 15-R204NE: RAM upgrade

Hi all

So today, I tried to upgrade my laptop RAM of 4 GB (single channel) up to 8 GB (dual channel) by adding another 4 GB SO - DIMM. I did the disassembly and reassembly successfully process.

When I booted up my laptop, in system properties, it shows me only 4.00 GB of Ram.

I use CPU - Z to more statistics. CPU - Z listed the locations of memory in use. (Pictures below).

But on the memory tab, CPU - Z shows 8Gbytes running on the same channel.

There is no difference in performance, same as before.

It's the RAM that I got my upgrade:

http://www.lazada.com.my/Samsung-4GB-DDR3-pc3l-12800s-1600mhz-notebook-RAM-10441693.html

I did a search before obtaining the DIMM and I kept the specs in return (PC3L - 12800 S 4 GB 1600 Mhz).

But the part number, serial number and the week/year are different on the new RAM.

In addition, on the new RAM chips are different and double chips that my original RAM.

Properties:

CPU - Z

It is the upgrade of Ram.

It is the original my laptop Ram comes with.

I don't know what seems to be the issue here.

I don't have to RAM bad? Because I also checked for update of the BIOS and I already have the last.

Can someone tell what is the issue and guide me accordingly?

Help is very appreciated.

Kind regards

Zarak

Yes, the problem is that the memory is incompatible. Density (number of coins) is important. It is a good illustration that when we say constantly that it is better to install corresponding modules there is a reason for the advice.

Two memory non-customer-accessible/extendable module housing (Intel Core processors)

See p. 46 for the installation of the memory. You need to remove the bottom cover. There are 2 slots. Your a single 4 GB module in a slot and a location empty. Although the specs say that it can take up to 8 GB, it has been shown that the 2 x 8 total 16 GB will work. I agree with your plan to add another 4 GB module for 8 total. It is more profitable.

This isn't an upgrade of the end user, but if you do it without damage to the computer HP laptop will still honor the warranty.

Yes PC2100 becomes a bit difficult to find. You can use PC2700, also known as the DDR333 and he will almost certainly be great downclock. If you buy a large public site crucial.com lite or kingston.com and buy specific modules recommended for your laptop, they will ensure the compatibility but you are very sure to get the best deal, you can at any old laptop DDR333 and install.

  • Satellite 3000 - X 4: Question about RAM upgrade

    Hi all

I'm looking for more information on how to upgrade the RAM for my SATELLITE S3000 - X 4 (120 MB RAM, 14 GB HD I think!). Here's a little history...

This laptop is about 5 years old, and I'm hoping to speed up a bit. I don't want to buy a new computer because she usually serves my needs.

I emptied my hard drive files and unwanted programs. And I ran Jv16 Power Tools to clean the registry and minimize starts the process.

It's always a little slow and if I am considering upgrading the RAM because I think I can do this for about £50. My questions are:

What type of upgrade RAM should I look to buy? (This laptop have 2 RAM "plug-ins" or just one?)
What is the size of RAM upgrade is the maximum an S3000 - X 4 could face?
Could a novice like me to adapt to the style DIY upgrade?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

    Gabrielle

    Hi Gabrielle

He is old enough. I looked for some info, but unfortunately I n t have not found much. The device can use the 512 MB of RAM, and you can use 2 sticks of memory. I'm not 100% sure but I think you can use the module with tracking number PA3086U - 1. 25 M.

The unit is not known to me but please check the underside. On most units, you can find coverage of memory.

Kingston modules are good quality RAM modules.
Personally I always buy good quality RAM and I never had any problems of compatibility or performance.
You can read here in the forum on the problems of compatibility as laptop RAM power not on after RAM upgrade or similar
They always uses some modules at low cost.

In general you can use the modules of DDR3 1066 MHz (PC3-8500).

    Hello

Say the user manual on the upgrade of RAM?
In general this info is always mentioned in the user manuals

But generally, must be knowing that RAM upgrade depends on the chipset.
The FSB (front side bus) chipset is important for the speed of the RAM.
If the FSB supports only 533 Mhz then your RAM modules would go max with speed 533 Mhz and RAM modules support a faster speed; That is to say to 667 Mhz.
