Laptop Inspiron 1420 - built-in keyboard problem?

Help?  Trying to determine if my built-in keyboard is broken?  On switching on, it does not accept when I type to connect.  If I type key, I can begin to type, but when entering the pass and hit the he added more characters to the pass.  I have observed that the lines of keyboard with "COFFE"... "is flaky.  Is a mapping problem, or it is broken?  Hit will jump to the top of the volume icon and and hangs the keyboard once again.  Then I hit , I can start typing, but the key of echoes "VXCZ" and the keyboard is stuck.  Everything that happens on clues?  THX.

  • His Dell Inspiron 1420, microphone and camera integrated into the laptop does not work after installing Windows 7 Professional

No sound from my Dell Inspiron 1420 and the microphone and built-in laptop camera do not work after installing Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. My laptop has Windows 7 Vista 32 - bit family premium. My laptop is 64-bit capable and after going through the Upgrade Advisor, I installed Windows 7 64-bit. I can hear sounds when I use a headset plugged into the line-in Jack, but not through the speakers built into the laptop. I already tried new drivers from the Dell website, but I could not find.

Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

As it is has no drivers 64 bit Windows 7 on Dell Web site, your best chance is to install the 64-bit versions of Vista (if they exist) in compatibility mode, viz:

Right click on the Vista driver, then select Properties > Compatibility tab. Now choose to run the program in Vista compatibility mode and then apply > OK. Right click on the file and select run as administrator to install it.

Sometimes, when I booted my computer a few keys alphabet such as r, o, m (seemingly random keys) do not respond. This problem started with my arrow keys but since moved other keys. So the problem, I could not find the drivers for my computer, I searched for the last 2 days and I am always unsuccessful and very frustrated, I can't use my keyboard and now I do all my typing via the on screen keyboard, very taxing to say the least. • Problem of driver Bluetooth Dell Inspiron 1420

I have an Inspiron 1420 old (Windows Vista 32 bit) I use to run a car diagnostic OBD II program that uses a Bluetooth adapter to connect to the vehicle. I installed a drive hard more and Windows 7 32 bit in and I cannot get the driver for the Bluetooth adapter to install. The computer is a Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth + EDR 2.0 adapter and I have the right driver, R140135, for this adapter and Windows 7, but it does not work. I get a blue and gray box that says: Bluetooth software

Activate Bluetooth with Fn + F2 keys or radio on/off switch

    Cancel Installation

And the driver is loading ever. The Bluetooth worked with the original Windows Vista Home Basic, but not now. Can anyone help or am I condemned to reinstall Windows Vista?

For the Dell Wireless 355 and Windows 7 try R226750.exe which is more recent:

  • Qosmio G50 - keyboard problem

I have a very strange problem with my G50 with Windows 7 and all the latest drivers (not that all have been updated for this laptop because Windows 7 drivers have been released). Often my keyboard will produce only letters in the order in any of the keyboard from qwertyuiop etc. Despite the keys on which I press and what program I use. She will do even if I press a single key (if I'm still getting some qwertyuiopasdfghj...). The * only * thing that arranges open IE8. It is also after the closure of IE8 and I open again to get my keyboard works correctly.

I've had plenty (ZoneAlarm) virus and malware (SUPERAntiSpyware) analysis in safe mode and found nothing.

This was which is rampant in me for a while, and despite much research on the internet and replacement of the built-in keyboard, I have yet to find someone with the same problem.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Oakeypara,

S really strange and I have never heard of this issue, but I think it's software related if s you can notice the problem if IE8 is opened.

In any case, it would be interesting to know if you can see the same problem with factory settings (Vista).

You something to update the last days? If so, you should try a system restore to an earlier point.

  • Dell Inspiron 1420 none audio internal speakers.

    Good day, everyone.

I have Inspiron 1420 Vista 32 of my brother as a gift. He had before and said he had sound from the moment he bought, but later (he doesn't remember when) the sound just disappeared. I reinstalled the system to the factory settings (press F8 and then restored from the recovery D: drive). No audio through loudspeakers. However, I can hear everything if I connect my headphone via jacks-audio connectors. I reinstalled the drivers for the "drivers and utilities" DVD. Same result. I downloaded the two drivers from the download page of Dell (R157031 and R167846) and tried one by one. Same thing. I ran diagnostic test (F12 >... > system > Custom > Audio Analog test and can hear the sound on the speakers.) I tried to remove the driver, and then restart the computer, so Vista can catch the new material and solve the problem, but after that the new hardware has been detected, Windows driver installed, the result is the same. I checked if the speakers are cut and they were not. I checked the control panel > sounds and saw 2 options on the digital playback, and speakers/headphones (with a green check mark) output device. Tried all the options, but still can't hear anything through speakers, but can through the headphones.

Guys, before I will let fall and broke it laptop, help. Please, I beg you. I'm sure the solution is close, just need advice.

    Jimco

I don't know about 1420. The 1520 has a taken audio daughterboard here, Reference Dell: RT882.

It says Vostro 1500, which is the same as the Inspiron 1520. There is a phone number you can call (1-800-357-3355) to see if it is also for the 1420.

    Good day Jimco,.

I am very happy and proud of me, because I did.  I did it. I did it.

I fixed the sound. Yesterday, I spent almost an hour talking with Dell customer service, technical department and * knows who else and I got I need to replace my motherboard ($299). I couldn't find any info on the site of Dell Inspiron 1420 Audio Jack Daughterboard as you have shown to me, so I decided to see him personally.

Today, I disassembled my laptop complete with MANUAL DELL for INSPIRON 1420. NOTE from the ADMIN: Broken link has been removed / replaced this post by Dell > after I pulled out the mother board, I could find (YES!) Audio Jack daughter Board. I started to chat with Dell and spent an hour trying to explain to them, this girl for Inspiron card exists and that I hold in my hand... I showed them your link... I wanted to just buy the card Audio Jack daughter at home, but they have checked my service tag, asked me if I have waranty, where have I bought this laptop... So, accordingly, I have no help from Dell.

After that I gave up on them, I put up any piece of aluminum foil, touch my problematic jack and then assemble everything back. And VOILA! Everything is fine. I have a sound input of the internal speaker, I have a jack for headphones, a disabled jack and a microphone jack. TADA!

Thanks Jim, for your attention and support.  I am really grateful for your help.

    Thanks again. And good luck.

  • Portege R830 - Trackpad/keyboard problem

HI - hope someone can help because I have only a few strands of hair left out!

In the last two weeks, a problem has developed with the trackpad - and maybe my keyboard. Here are some of the symptoms

    1. the cursor on the screen suddenly freezes. If I leave the laptop and work back, and it's not.

    2. If I tap on the keyboard (can simply press the keys or I could be typing in a document) and the cursor may freeze again. During this event the little 'mouse/trackpad' power icon flashes briefly on the screen. If I hit another key (literally anywhere on the keyboard) a number of times (not the model number) the icon can cycle and the slider moves and then freeze again.

It's as if each key on the keyboard is somehow the role of the FnF9 key.

Unfortunately I took the laptop on a business trip recently and this time after initialization the laptop - the cursor was frozen and no amount of pressure button thoughtful or random didn't get going. It is a working battery. That scared the hell out of me.

If I plug in a USB keyboard and mouse and then pressing the keys on this keyboard does not cause the cursor to freeze. But he can do anyway - as described in 1. above.

The F9 key will unlock the cursor (I guess re - turn on the trackpad) - but it won't be long before cycle back again.

I did not drop the phone. There is nothing physically wrong with her. The battery holds its charge and it starts successfully. I did no change of material during the month.

The only button on the keyboard that is not working is the mouse/trackpad power button just above the space bar. It feels a bit depressed - but I think that is how it has always been. Juggle it makes no difference to this bizarre and erratic behavior. But perhaps this is relevant.

    When I tried.

    Reinstall the trackpad driver (Synaptics).

    Reinstall the PVAT (value package).

I even tried to re-imaging of HARD drive to one of these days - and the other just after that I bought the laptop in 2012. Which should have solved if it was a software/driver problem - but it didn't.

One thing I did not, is venturing into the BIOS. Maybe there is something in them?

In Device Manager that everything is listed - no warning at all. There seems to be be no IRQ conflict.

This could be a hardware problem? I read that the keyboards on R830 are quite likely to damage/stoppage of work. A the United Kingdom popular auction site has sellers who claim to have sold more than 40! That's a lot of R830s who have had new keyboards.

I also know that a replacement is a pain, so I hope that's not it.

Someone at - it suggestions? It makes me crazy.

I google extensively and can't come up with anything either. There are the usual raft of people trying to find how to activate the trackpad or disable - but none seem to be struggling with the laptop made for them.

    Help!

    Hello

According to the description of your problem, it seems that the touchpad is disabled automatically.
As you have already mentioned, the touchpad can be enabled and disabled by using the FN + F9 key combination function

Since you have also some keyboard problems, my theory is that there is a problem of keyboard that may be responsible for the touchpad ON / OFF question.

What do you think of this theory?

I put t think there is a software problem because as you already reset the system to the point in time at the beginning (factory settings?). This is why I think that the conflict of software cannot be the reason for this.
