Laptop overheats and stops automatically.

Original title: My laptop turns off suddenly without any warning

I usually use my laptop or internet application, browsing through any social networking site and watch videos, while I watch videos or whatever it is, I realize that my laptop heats up a little, the videos don't load smoothly and the next thing you know suddenly stops. It is due to overheating? In addition, there are little space in drive C and f. could it be overheating to cause as many files in drives overheated to treat them? My operating system is Windows 7. Please help me with this

Yes. The closure is due to overheating and is named as thermal shutdown. Possible causes are a fan failure and dust clogging in the fins.

Heat is generated when the processor/graphics processor works. It is normal and low free space will not increase the amount of heat produced. Low free space will lag to the normal operation of Windows. You can go to the properties of each partition (C and F), click Disk Cleanup. This will remove all the unwanted and temporary files. It is a good practice to maintain 10% free space or at least 20 GB of free space (depending on which is higher) in the C drive.

    Hello

    > In normal operation (nothing too 'heavy', running only things like Opera, foobar, thunderbird and others) the temperature is around the 50-60 degrees celsius * and that it itself is too.
Unfortunately, I'm not agree with you. The level of 50-60 degree temperature is not too high. My laptop also reaches this level if I m only to connect to the internet.

May I ask how do you use the laptop?
The laptop must be placed on the table or desk and you should have enough free space around the laptop for cool air circulation.
The cooling grids must be free!
Check if fans can turn with a maximum return.
Dust and debris inside of the laptop stops especially cooling modules run properly.

    What graphic do you use?
Have you used one from the manufacturing of the graphics card? This driver does not support a protection from overheating!
Therefore, you must use the drivers of Toshiba's own graphics card!

My 026 has recently started to overheat and stopping at random during video games. I can't even run TF2 to learn more, then one hour unless he suddenly died on me. It is never used for this months of use.

I can assume there is a problem with my video card. I tried to download drivers to Toshibas site and the latest versions of Nvidia without change. I've already booked a Mobilecare service, I wanted to just evaluate what might be the possible problems.

    Hello

Maybe this problem of high temperature of s.
High temperature causes a closing down in order to protect the equipment against damage.
But the question is why the temperature increases to critical level?
One of the reasons could be a page nvidia graphics card driver. Such driver does contain protection against overheating. Therefore, use the driver of Toshiba page.
    I see that you did
Well, the laptop seems to be a new a .so usually dust should not be a problem and fans should work properly

A tip; Please make sure that you have enough free space around the laptop to ensure good air circulation.

However, I recommend asking an ASP in your country for verification may be what he s hardware related issue.

  • NC6230 overheats and stops quickly

If anyone can help please if I don't spend any more money on it. LOL I have a NC6230 which overheats and stops after half a minute of the kind.  I went on EBAY and bought two other boards and I have the same problem.  Thinking that I couldn't have 2 boards bad save question I bought a curcuit Board.  Same question.  I tried another treatment well known with the same results.  I tried swapping memory without success.  All these tests were conducted with the hard disk without OS power supply.  I then turned on it only to batteries and it remained running.  I have it turned off and restarted with an external keyboard to check the BIOS and it has overheated and turned off in 30 seconds.  No idea what else to try.  Is there a defect in the Board that gives too much power to the Commission, causing the closure?  Is this a defect of this Council over time?

    Thanks for any help

    Hi all

I have what I believe, it is a solution to this problem... even if I'm still skeptical.  I replaced the circuit boad and the processor with known good parts and still overheat.  I was ready to give up and throw the jury when I thought... Why not swap the work laptop heat sink.  I thought... Isn't it the radiator... It is electric and mechanical part.  But to have no doubt I swapped it out and VIOLA without overheating.  Then I thought it was a problem with too much thermal paste, so I cleaned the old and the right processor and reapplied thermal paste... with caution.  Overheated.

I'm leaving the base or the only radiator would be defective and cause overheating?  All my tests point this way.

    Thanks for any input

  • Fan gave up and Satellite A100-999 overheats and stops

    Hello

I have a Satellite 3 + year but unfortunately gave up the fan and it overheats and stops.

I know it is old and has been well used, but he has been a faithful servant and I want to know if I can get the fan replaced?

It's really a phone beautiful, and if I can save it I would.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

Of course, the cooling modules can be replaced.

According to your message, you are not familiar with these things one so you should get in touch with a local ASP (authorized service provider) who could order a cooling right and compatible module and could replace it.
In addition the new thermal grease which is placed between the CPU and cooling modules must be added and renewed.

    Welcome them

Also, I can't restart the computer or put it on the mode 'sleep'.

When I restart the computer, the reboot screen appears only and does not restart the computer.

While he was trying to put the computer on the mode 'sleep', the corners of the black screen, but still power is still on.

This has happened since this morning.

Last night, when I stopped, I got the message Shutting Down, the screen is black and the computer shut down in 10 seconds (all LEDs are off) as it normally should.

    Hello

Thursday, I went on board: programs and features: I clicked on SUVs installed updates.

I clicked on the KB3000850 Windows Update from Nov - 25 and uninstalled.

The computer took about an hour and a half to uninstall after reboot.

I tested if the computer sleep mode worked by closing the lid of the laptop.

Finally, he fell asleep mode correctly.

When I opened the laptop, he is risen, as he should.

Now stop, restart and sleep function properly.

I think the problem was the update.

  • Zv6000 overheats and stops

My ZV6100 began to overheat and shut down. I noticed that the cooling fans don't come to the computer gets hot. However, after overheating and stop if I wait a few minutes and restart the computer two fans will turn on and remain lit. So it's like that, when I start the computer and its cold cooling fans lights up for a short period (at startup), then turns off. The computer warms up and then gets hot the fans don't come as they should to cool down. Any ideas?

Try a hard reset of the bios, power down, unplug the power cord, remove the battery, press and hold power for 30 seconds, insert the battery and connect the power cord, put under tension, see if anything changes.

  • My laptop XP Pro stops automatically while browsing.

    Hello

I use HP 540 laptop with Win XP Pro. Today I was browsing the Internet using Firefox worm 18.0.2 and when I clicked on a link of the ad, I got an alert from Norton Internet Security 2012 that he blocked an unauthorized access. In the 'history', it shows as 'Authorized access blocked (Duplicate Object)'. But because I trusted at this link, I tried to access it again by opening it in a new window. I was able to do. But, later on my computer has been automatically shut down without prompting. I have not noticed any blue screen error. Note that he has not restarted, it stopped just. I tried to restart the computer, and he started the startup process. But, before I could get the Windows Logo screen (maybe just after the POST), he was again arrested automatically. This has happened two times or three times. So, I tried not to start it again. Instead, I've disconnected my hard drive WD Ext. and the computer USB Dongle (Internet) and removed the battery then re-inserted it and then tried to start the computer. Now, I was able to start the computer successfully.

After logging on to the computer, I checked the Mini Dump file in the computer to find if there is a new dump files created. But there is no new dump file. So, I check the event viewer. He was showing 3 error under "system". The descriptions here it is:

    (1) the Reliance Netconnect. CUO service failed to start due to the following error:
The service has failed to demand launch or timely control.

    (2) the GamingWonderlandService service failed to start due to the following error:
The system does not have the specified path.

    (3) time (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the Reliance Netconnect. FM service to connect.

Please let me know the reason for this unexpected closure down from my XP computer. I will be happy to provide you with any information you guys require. Is there another way by which I can check for the details of the error that caused my laptop to close unexpectedly.

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Community forums.

From your post, it seems that you were unable to boot up to the desktop successfully. But now it works fine.

    1. what was the link to the announcement on?

    2. is this the same question appear if you're using Internet Explorer?

When you get this error "the service did not demand launch or timely control" means that theService of Base class calls the OnStop method directly from the Service command handler that is defined in the ScDispatcherLoop of the Advapi32.dll file. After 30 seconds, if the ScDispatcherLoop thread is not ready to receive a new order of service from service control manager, Windows brand services controller out service as 'time '.

FIX: You receive an "error 1053: the service has failed to demand launch or control in a timely" error message when you stop or pause a managed Windows service.

  • Qosmio X 300 - 11W - overheats and stops

    Hello out there!

I'm sorry for the typos, I can do, this is my first topic on your forum. So here is the problem I encountered with my laptop (Qosmio X 300 - 11W). It all started with stop the engine whenever I use it more then 1 to 2 hours. I always put my laptop on the book or something so he can help the fan under the laptop somehow.

Not long ago he finally stops forevet, I could not start it more. After having taken it for laptop 3 repair specialists, final said it's the motherboard and faulty graphics card and the only thing to do is to replace, for £1300. Very unfortunately, my warranty expired in September. My question is, can I possibly extend my warranty somehow, as specialists in laptop says it's the common overheating problem with these series of laptops, if not do you recommend?

Sorry for my English, hope everything is clear, you can ask me anything you want about my laptop. Please help me and thank you very much. (Still one thing I forgot to say, the place where I bought the laptop is London, Microanvika)

    Hi donn2121,

First of all it of not possible to buy an extended warranty after the expiration of your warranty. You can only buy an extended warranty if your laptop is still under warranty.

I put t know who checked your computer laptop, but about hardware problems, you can contact an authorized service provider. Technicians can check your laptop and order all spare parts Toshiba. On the Toshiba site is a list of ASP.
I put t know how many new parts for Qosmio X 300 cost, but I think they are a little more expensive in terms of other portable because s a high-end machine with high quality parts.

By the way: have you ever cleaned your laptop using a jet of compressed air? It could also help you because if the dust blocks the air, your laptop is overheating.
    Check it!

  • HP dv6258se laptop shurdown and restart automatically

I have laptop HP dv6258se and you try to restore to the original due to a very slow and hanging problem. I put the NEW hard drive that is compatible with the HP laptop model.

Then, I used the CD of HP recovery (bought from HP) and followed the step.

After the race, he asked 'Supplément Disc' (HP never delivered and told me that I don't have one!). , I hit Cancel.

A few hours after, he ran the screen couple and finally WINDOWS screen began to start and then resumed the problem!

Computer HP laptop windows start and a few minutes stop automaticall and new reboot and shutdown again (the cycle continues forever!).

I called HP who wanted USD$ 99 and more money for no reason... but is not ready to offer assistance (think before purchase HP products)...

I would be grateful if you help me.

    AGU.

    Hello

    1. do you get any error code or error message?

    2. has the new hard drive purchased from HP?

3 - is an additional recovery disc you purchased with HP hard drive?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Try to start in safe mode and check whether you have the same problem here.

    Start in Safe Mode:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 2:

If the problem does not occur in safe mode, put the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps.

How to solve the problem by running the clean boot in Windows 7:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135 Note: once you have completed troubleshooting, perform the steps in the step 7: to reset the computer as usual.

    Hope the information is useful.

  • Qosmio X 300-130 overheats and stops in game

WHEN I PLAY GAMES MY PORTABLE OVERHEATING AND AFTER 10 MIN max OFF TOWERS

I PAID BIG AMOUNT OF MONEY TO PLAY GAMES NOW I JUST CAN'T OMG...

    PLS HELP

    Hello

Are the cooling fans and dust-free grids?
If this isn't the case, clean the modules cooling using a jet of compressed air.
This will remove dust and debris from the laptop. Maybe this keeps air from traffic and could be the reason for the higher temperature.

  • laptop sleeps and stops after 15-20 minutes

My laptop was overheating and shut down. After the HP service, is not bad overheating, but it still turns off after 15-20 minutes of use. Makes me nuts when you work or games.   What could be?

If the laptop is overheating and turn off the power, you must ensure a sufficient ventilation.  Make sure that the laptop is not put on something soft like a pillow.  Think of it as raising a little more air circulates beneath her.  Consider making a miniclavier, with active cooling (for example, fans).  Make sure you're laptop or fans are not clogged with dust and work correctly.  Make sure that the heat sinks are free of dust, and the path that air flow is not blocked.  You may need to consult the owner's Manual of your laptop or service for some of these things, because the steps and the level of difficulty varies depending on the laptop in question.

If you had the laptop serviced by HP, but it does not solve the problem, consider contacting HP again and to let them know that the problem is not solved.

  • Dell XPS 18 overheats and stops

Hi guys. I have a Dell xps 18 who has recently developed a problem. With or without overloading the processor temperature starts randomly on the rise and the machine stops at about 57 to 62 degrees. Sometimes it's very good and sometimes it keeps it doing back to back. My computer has the replacement motherboard i3. The original has stopped charging the battery (plugged in, not not supported message) so I bought a motherboard replaced about 8 months ago. It has good cpu paste and everything worked fine until recently. Even he stops when it is in the BIOS. I was wondering, is it than 60 degrees is a dangerous temperature that is forcing the closure of the motherboard? The idle temp is about 30 to 40 degrees, then it suddenly starts to go up until 60, then dies. He does especially when is overload (no game, some software open), but still it goes up sometimes when he's just sitting there with nothing running in the background. I have to go on eBay new fan buy my second replacement card mother now lol? Any suggestion? I like my XPS 18 and it has served me well but have these serious problem began to really put me off it. Thank you very much.

just an update on my problem with heat. the card mother ew (i3 US$ 50) arrived and installed a few weeks, I have been using and test the DEll XPS 18 heavily for the past few weeks without any problem so far. the operating temperature is 49 c (use slow and light) to 60 ° c (very busy) but now the motherboard stop no more. I also decided to use an additional quantity of thermal paste and I think the fan is working a lot quieter and less now. My problem was a faulty motherboard and then at the end second MB less than a year. I wonder when I will return here and announce that I am ready for a third replacement card mother lol
