Laptop Shuts Down after having turned it on

Hello

My laptop has fun close within 3 seconds to turn on. Research I've done shows that the fan is not operating, causing overheat the device, but I wanted to see if there was other reasons why this could happen.

I restored my computer to factory a few days ago, and it only started happening after that.

I tried to run a diagnosis by performing a "PC Health Check' after pressing F10 at startup, but I didn't have the option to do so.

Aside from trying to do a health check on the PC, there is no errors popping up at startup.

My laptop is running Windows 7 and this is the Pavilion DV6 model for 2010.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello Roadrage77,

Welcome to the HP Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience!

I understand that the computer stops a few seconds of setting on. I'll see what I can do to help you!

It seems that the computer might have a hardware problem, because the fan does not work. However, there is a chance that there is a software conflict. I think that you should try to reinstall the operating system before anything else. It will deal with it if the problem is software partner. For more information about how to perform a system restore, please reference this document: performing a recovery of system HP (Windows 7)

Please try this and let me know what happens. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

    Hello..

Safe Mode boot removes the system caches that can help after an OS X day or level.

Upper left corner of your screen, click on the Apple  > Shut Down.

After your Mac stops, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.

As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key. You must press the SHIFT key as soon as possible once you hear the startup tone, but not before.

Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.

Once you are in Mode without failure, return to the menu Apple . In the drop-down list, click: reboot

  • Printer Hp 6520 automatically shuts down after a few hours

Original title - printer hp 6520 problem

My new photosmart 6520 automatically shuts down after a few hours, it disconnects from my Win7 machine without using the material removal tool, if I get a nice loud bang when it does.  It is connected through the usb port on my Pavilion.  I don't mind to go to sleep, but I don't want to disconnect completely, because when I send a new print job, he didn't wake up automatically and print, I don't have to feed it manually upwards then it prints very well.  Any ideas on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I could join HP support on this issue this morning.  There were two things - first HP printers now have a built-in surge protector so you should not connect it to an another surge protector.  Second, the default printer is delivered with activated automatic stop, turning off will do sleep, but not to turn it off, so that it accepts print jobs whenever one is sent.  So, if that helps anyone, good!  And thanks also for your help.  :^) gene

I've had my Satellite Pro A200-PSAE4E for about a year and a half now. He ran very well most of the time, but in recent months he has been stop itself randomly. There is no warning or "Windows is shutting down" he just me using my computer to a blank screen.

After frustrated with her, I did a full format my HARD drive and started from scratch. This does not solve the problem, and since then, the taskbar freezes. When I click on it I get the error and the hourglass cursor message "Windows Explorer is not responding... "I then have to click"restart", which makes the taskbar disappear for a few seconds before returning (usually without my sound icon).

The laptop turns off when it is connected to the electric network with & without the battery and when running only on battery, so I excluded all power problem.

I think that the problem of overheating.
The fact is that the laptop would be down automatically stops in order to avoid that the pieces of equipment against damage.
In most cases this problem can be solved very easily. Using a jet of compressed air, you can remove the dust from the cooling modules and fans.
I clean my fans from time to time, because I noticed a higher temperature and the laptop was a little stronger.

  • Laptop shuts down suddenly

    Hello

I have HP Pavilion g6-2288sx Notebook PC. There the processor core i3 with 4 GB of ram.

My problem is that my laptop turns off suddenly during execution, not hibernation - total stop without any error or warning or anything. It's just blank and turn again until I connect it with its charger. Low battery is not the cause of the problem that it does not give error battery low charge battery even shows I have enough battery to work on the next 30 minutes.

Please, I really need the cause of the problem!

    Best regards, MNUH

    Hi MNUH,

I understand that your notebook computer shuts down without warning and I'll be happy to help you with that. I noticed problems before where the battery is always showing a load, but he was not really taking charge of the laptop was just read wrong battery level. You don't mention what operating system you are using so I included HP two documents below on how to test and calibrate the battery.

Test and calibrate the battery (Windows 8)

Test and calibrate the battery (Windows 7)

Alternatively, you can try to reset the compatible Microsoft ACPI control method battery is basically the driver that communicates between the computer and the battery. There is a chance that it's corrupted laptop reads bad battery level, so the computer thinks that the battery level is higher, then what is actually, so when he is out of juice it stops right on you.

Step 1. Go to the Device Manager
    Step 2. Select the stacks
Step 3. Click with the right button on the "Microsoft compatible battery ACPI Control method" which is in the list
    Step 4. Click on uninstall
Step 5. At the command prompt, put a checkmark in the box to remove the current driver
Step 6. Shut down the computer

Step 7: Remove the battery for a minute and then put new

When the computer returns to the top it should automatically find the driver.

Step 8. Go to the Device Manager
    Step 9. Select the stacks
Step 10. Click with the right button on the "Microsoft compatible battery ACPI Control method" which is in the list
Step 11. Click "automatically search for an updated driver.

Do the same thing with embedded controller compatible ACPI Microsoft.

If none of this works let me know which operating system you are using and we will look at the rest of the material.

    Thank you

  • During "shut down", I accidentally turned off the power strip to the desktop before to close the process finished. This is a problem.

Since this event, start working normally, but after about 5 minutes the PC will 'freeze' and nothing works.  Even the stop the clock!  I can start and run the PC in safe MODE without any problem, even Shut Down works.  But, in normal mode, if I click "Shut Down", before the 5-minute 'freeze' occurs, the PC hang in the process of closing and never closed and turns off.

In Safe Mode, I turned off a number of pilots to start, but it did not help.

I studied 'system restore', but there is NO "restore points".

    Help, please.

    Hello

Make sure you have the latest vista drivers for your computer which you can get your computer manufacturers Web site

go to their website and look for a driver and software download section

Enter your model number for the last look drivers vista then download and install

    also run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation

  • Stuck on the screen saying 'Shutting Down' after trying to install SP2 on Vista

So I got problems with my Windows Vista. The day passed or it would freeze completely, all programs not responding. I looked around, and he said that a possible solution would be to install SP2. So I did. As he installed the first of 3 updates, it got stuck at 44% for an hour. Then, she moved to say Shutting Down, which was during the last two hours.

I don't know what to do now. During the installation, he said do not put off your computer, and while it is said that is no longer, I'm still hesitant to do. Any ideas on what I should do? In addition, would set the gel I described previously by SP2? Or do you know of anything that could be causing it?

Recently, she stops without warning, but only when working on the battery. • Stream laptop HP 11: Shuts Down after 1 hour

I have a new laptop HP Stream. We had planned to use it on the business environment and so we has astonished the 8 Windows Installer and installed our Windows 7 64-bit environment.

Windows 8, as expected, the laptop works perfectly well and as expected. Under our business environment, the device turns off after an hour of use. In this hour, sleep works very well and all the works of hardwrae as it should. However, to activate or switch off the power unit stops. I checked the event logs and there is no indication as to what failed.

Has anyone seen this happen to this topic or a similar device? It is absolutely stumping us!

HI, it stops exactly one hour after starting, even if there is keyboard/mouse activity?  You had to manually install the drivers in Windows 7 for all devices work very probably?  Have you used Windows 8.1 the site HP.com drivers?  I don't think that there is support for this laptop for obtaining all the required drivers for Windows 7 can be difficult. I wonder if there is some driver chipset which is perhaps missing which is originally the closure somehow.
