Laptop thermal overheating found the Trojan

My laptop 2000-41OUS began to close with a thermal overheating BIOS message. It sounded as it was put to the test, running loudly. I've learned to control programs and of course, many have been installed I have no download. I removed them and still close. Finally found a Trojan and cleaned to Symantec. The race so sweetly now I can't hear it. I'm afraid that overheating may have damaged the fat layer that protects him. I should take it to a computer shop and what should they do?

Hello CatLoraine,

I can certainly understand your concern. There is usually no need to redo the thermal compound, thermal paste or a poorly mounted radiator is the culprit for overheating. If the laptop isn't overheating now so I wouldn't worry on this subject.

You can monitor the CPU to increase temperature while using it to see where it is located in HWMonitor is a good and free to use. Install only the Bit version for your system (32 or 64-bit) http://www.hwinfo.com/download.php

This way you will have a good idea how hot it is actually done.

But if it makes feel you better, you can certainly take it to a technician looking at him.

Really, I would be more concerned by what you have found the infection that caused the overheating.

Honestly, realize that using the malware removal software can not 100% guaranteed a clean system nor can it correct any damage was left of malware. Especially if you are not known in the removal of malware.

If its possible, I would consider reloading Windows in the factory for a peace of mind.  And to all least, recovery disks has not been burned yet, if now.

    Concerning

  • Laptop keeps overheating after the last update

I run Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on a laptop Toshiba Satellite M505D. I went about four months without any serious problem; But starting yesterday my computer started to overheat. The fan does not turn to cool the unit until it heats up a lot (I would say between 80 and 90 degrees) and then must blow the hot air outside to cool the unit down. Restart the computer to reset the fan, but then after an hour or two the problem returns. I don't have this problem with Windows until the most recent update, which I believe was able to change a setting, there should not be and messed up my computer ACPI.

No idea how can I fix?

(And what if all you say is "check for dust accumulation," except for someone else.)

It is unlikely that an update can change the settings for the fan. This is something which is controlled by the driver provided by Toshiba and you will need to contact Toshiba on this subject.

The reason for the change in behaviour is probably a increase your processor load. Make a right click the taskbar, start the Task Manager, click the processes tab and click the button "show processes for all users. Process that consumes the largest percentage of time processor? How much is? What do you see when you click on the performance tab?

Please help me with my problem. Sorry for my English

    Hello

The drivers of Toshiba laptops are a bit different and not the same thing as the drivers from the manufacturer of the graphics card.
The original ATI drivers are made for office use and not for mobile use. Drivers Toshiba takes supported thermal protection that allows to control the performance of gpu and the dissipation of the heat.
If you want to use a page ATI driver then your GPU could create more heat as usual which leads to the unexpected shutdown.

I installed Win 7 on my A210. I didn't install the driver of ATI graphics card because the Win 7 automatically recognizes the graphics chip.
After installation, I went to the Device Manager. Then, I chose the graphics chip and looked for the driver automatically. Windows has found the right driver and installed this
Since the unit works perfectly with Win 7

  • I FOUND THE SOLUTION FOR THE TX WIRELESS PROBLEM!

    Hi guys,.

IM pretty happy problem because I found the solution for my tx 1219 us wireless!

First of all, my laptop started with wifi problems. Then, when I tried to start, nothing has been posted.

I read a lot of posts on forums that talking about changing the motherboard by HP.

I sent my knees to HP in Argentina - where i live - and they had sent me a budget with a «renewed» system map

I was paying, so I pretend a new.

Tired and frustrated on the HP customer service: they dosen´t recognize their mistake. They dosen´t give me GUARANTEE AND they pretend a lot of money for something refurbished!

I found a post where a guy - now away for me is 'God' - explains how to fix this problem yourself! AND a lot of positions where other guys did, and they confirm that it works!

    Here's the method. Feel happy!

This post is for the repair of the range of following HP laptop: tx1000, dv2000, dv6000, dv9000, with AMD processors and graphic chips from nvidia (6150go).
Symptoms are more, wireless wireless card are running out, are repeatedly, the laptop, it does not ignite until several attempts and finally the laptop turns on but he did not have no image in the monitor, in some models, you listen to some sounds.

The cause is excessive overheating of the GPU from nvidia, which has powered up to 100 degrees or but tends to fail the welds that unite it to the mother of the card.
HP already admitted the existence of the failure in the design of the card, and extended 2-year warranty, so that if even you can demand but the desirable thing is to do, the method I describe is simple and has worked in 100% of those laptop with this problem, prefer all must do it under your own risk.

Step 1. -It is necessary to compile the necessary material: this is a 1-cent American copper currency or a currency that similar thickness now about a 1/16 of an inch, or a piece with these features, but the copper. also we will need a table lamp with a halogen centre, or the one with the normal centres but it is 150W or but case is that it heats up a lot. disipadora thermal paste of what they take microprocessors (sold at any electronics store).

step 2. -Once gathered our components, it is necessary to remove the mother card and remove the radiator so that they are exposed to the microprocessor and the nvidia chip.

Step 3. -Now, we are committed to the lamp, started to warm up a while, in my case I have tapeworm a gun to measure temperatures and saw that it was 134 degrees, once it is hot we close set, but the thing at latest, the graphics chip, but on the other hand, where all the solder points are seen We leave about 5 minutes, which were both that I gave him, no doubt, it can be less, depending on the source of heat, once that done this we have pressed with the fingers with force the graphics chip (care, it will be hot), which will be expanded by heat welding is to merge.

Step 4. -Now, we put a little disipadora in the room by both parties and we placed on the graphics chip and put the radiator and arm!

It is with the intention of wrong correct dissipation system design since the heat produced by the chip is transferred to the coin in copper.

Copper is an excellent conductor of heat and thus provide the heatsink of makes, initially was clearly a very small between the radiator and the chip and when warm itself does not transfer not warmth to any party since not thanks to the air, it can, but the copper coins made this work

  • Laptop stops shortly after the start.

I have a slight puzzle on my hands. I was working on a DV5-1012EA which had a damaged palm rest/touchpad. I found a replacement and very well equipped. I had the laptop works well and decided to run windows update. Everything seemed fine, but after a reboot (which seemed normal after a windows update) it was decided to close. I tried a few reboots but no joy.

I then used a recovery disk but it was in the middle of the second "loading files" and he stopped.

I ran the diagnostic test of the system via the ESC menu and fine tested memory, it stop at Midway through the HARD drive test.

I tried to boot up a Linux live disk with no HARD drive, but once more, it has failed.

I booted into the BIOS, but after 3 minutes it stop new

I tried different hard disks and memory, but it makes no difference. The system just stops.

What a coincidence it occurred after the Windows Update? I changed the material so any conflict caused by the update wouldn't be here.

I can't think it is overheating of the CPU or GPU, and that is why he stops? Maybe all the work of dismantling the until that replace the touchpad/palmrest dislodged the thermal/thermal heatsink paste?

Please can someone advise me because I want to make this thing run again and return to my friend?

    Thanks in advance

    Changy

    Hello

Yes, as I mentioned in my original post, I booted into the BIOS, but it turns off after 3 minutes. It's what made me suspect overheating. It was very quick to stop if open windows, but slower with the BIOS that requires less work CPU.

I have removed the radiator and check the thermal paste. I'll remove it and use the new thermal paste just to be sure

    Thank you

    Changy

  • Equium L40 very slow and Windows Defender found a Trojan horse

I was wondering if you could help me with a situation.

Turned my laptop on and Windows Defender found a Trojan, so I chose all clear. Then it arrived 5 minutes later and I pressed on delete everything again.

Afterwards my internet is incredibly slow and often freezing.
Opening files and folders often locked up but I could still click on the red X if it took 30 seconds to close after that I clicked on the X.

I get now random pop ups not even on the internet.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Thank you.

    Hi Kieran

Have you tried different antivirus software?
I would recommend this. I use a software called Antivir freeware antivirus and it is nice.
It of free and you can download it from various internet sites.

In addition, you could use an Ad-aware to kill this Trojan horse. It of also for free and maybe it could be useful too.
Google just to download it for free.

If you won't be able to remove the virus from your system by using programs like Antivir, antivirus Norton antivirus, etc. and then use your Toshiba Recovery CD.

    I think this should help.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A200 - overheating all the time

    Hi y ' All

I have a satellite A200 laptop computer that keeps overheating all the time.
I tried to do the thing of compressed air and she always does.
    Especially when am games online.
I've had this laptop for about a year now, and it already has an accident and burn on me and everything lost hard disk.
But this overheating is really annoying me.
I still have the clear fan so that it still works ok.
And there is no dust or dirt there either.
Can someone tell me what could be the problem?
And also I would like to know how I can format it so, it doesn't let me do.

Any suggestions would be appreciated muchly

    See you soon

    Wolfette.

Do you use the certified Toshiba graphics card driver?
You should do this in order to ensure that the graphics card would not overheat.
The driver of Toshiba GPU supports protection against overheating and control the dissipation of the heat created by the graphics chip.

But if you already use the Toshiba drivers, then the problem could be more complicated.
In this case, the laptop must be verified by technician ASP.

Maybe the thermal grease that is placed between the CPU and the GPU must be renewed.
At the time the thermal fold becomes dry and rough and cannot conduct heat well.

    In many cases, it helps.

Last but not least, you must use the Toshiba certified graphics card driver because this driver supports protection against overheating and the dissipation of the heat created by the GPU of the controls.
You must also make sure that the laptop is on the table and that there is enough free space around the laptop to ensure good air circulation.

  • "due to an unidentified problem, windows cannot display windows firewall settings" fixed but still can not visit some sites and the laptop now turns off the coast on me. What should I do?

I have an Apire one laptop with Windows xp service pace 3. I had to restore it to factory about 3 years ago. Some time after that the sound system began to slow and the Synaptics mouse stop working properly. I can move the pointer, but the left click does not work. It works in safe mode but not in normal windows. I used the Acer eRecovery for correct, but it did not work. I tried to download the driver for the mouse on the internet, but some how it could stop the download. I gave up at tring to fix. Some time in late March or early April, I couldn't access internet and after 22:30. I ran the diagnosis that is provided by internet explore and he said that the HTTP and HTTPS worked but the FTP did not work. AVG later told me my firewall is disabled and there was the possibility to reactivate it and I did. After internet explore stop allowing you to enter certain sites that I wanted to enter, I ran the Diagnostics again and he told me that a firewall client has been the cause of the problem. I tried to control my firewall setting, but had that "due to a problem not identified, windows cannot display the firewall settings". I thought AVG was the problem, so I have unintalled then he returned and attempted to access the firewall but got the same message. I typed in Google MySapce and found this site. I followed a few directions given to others in the thread started by joecarpenter33 and discovered that my firewall has been deleted and Base filtering engine has been deleted also. I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes ANti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition and tdsskiller. MBAM has found a Trojan. The results of the analysis is less to:

    Hello

    Follow these methods.

    Method 1.

Start the computer in safe mode with network and run a full scan of computer viruses.

To start the computer in safe mode: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

Run a full scan of the computer with the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make sure that the computer is virus-free.

    Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Warning of Security Scanner: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

    Method 2.

If the steps above do not help, then try to scan the computer using Windows defender in offline mode and check if that helps.

Search for spyware and other potentially unwanted software: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Scan-for-spyware-and-other-potentially-unwanted-software

  • Satellite M45-S169 - overheating and the upgrade card RAM/graphics

    Hello

I have need some answers and solace to the questions I have on my laptop. Here are the following questions:

Laptop overheating fast enough, hereby, I mean in about 10 minutes, the laptop Burns upward. It is the model or is there something wrong with it? I can't keep the laptop without maintaining that it plugged into the wall at all times. That this has something to do with my battery like that I need a new?

I am able to install the new RAM * (2 GB Max) and if yes, someone knows how it slots are for this model? (Not really opened to check because I'm bad to put things together after taking them apart)

I am able to install a new graphics card for the laptop or I'm stuck with ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 M Series? (and if it is not too much to ask, is the graphics card, I have good, bad, or so - so)

Sorry if there are too many questions, but it would be really nice if I get the answers to all these.

    Hi Honu_2,

(1.) you should clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans and read this article please:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=40

2.) Yes, it seems that you need a new battery if your laptop only works with AC/DC adapter connected.

3.), you should check your owner's manual. As far as I know this model supports up to 2 GB of RAM. This means that you can install 1 GB into the two slots.

(4.) the graphics card upgrade is not possible because it s/set soldered on the motherboard and your laptop is designed only for the preinstalled graphics card.

By the way: these questions are already answered here. Check out the forum for similar topics, you will find many interesting things! ;)
