Laptop will not start. It starts again and again

My 8510W does not start. It starts again and again and I can not start safe mode.

I think my hard drive is dead. Am I wrong?

It is a 500 GB WD Scorpio Blue. Can I replace it with a 1 TB drive?

Ok. Since you can't in safe mode, and then put it back would be a good option.

    MEMORY MODULE

    Window7 as operating system

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Hello

    Try the following.

First of all, regarding the manual of maintenance on the link below--remove and reposition your bars of memory.

If the above makes no difference, and you have more than one Module of memory installed, try the following - if you have only 1 Module installed, try in the other available slot.

Again, regards to the manual on the link below, delete one of your modules from memory and then see if the computer will start.  If it doesn't, try the same module, but in another location.  If it is still won't start, try the other memory module in both slots, to see if any combination will allow the laptop to boot up normally.

The procedure for withdrawal of these modules is detailed on Page 50 of your maintenance & Service Guide.

  • Pavilion dv9810us: computer HP Pavilion dv9810us laptop will not start

Reminder: a few days before my laptop does not start up, all using the laptop, the screen has become, I guess the technical term would be 'nuts': horizontal lines an inch in height, made of blocks quickly black and white, all changing left and right, and I could see my spreadsheet in the background.  Could not do something about the problem, so I rebooted and it worked fine.

Then a few days after that, I tried to turn on my laptop, and occurred the following:

    (1) blue illuminated switch, control all the keys lit in blue (volume, skip, repeat, DVD...), fan began and heard the dvd begins to check for a disc.  This lasted for about 2 seconds.

    (2) off laptop (all lights extinguished, no fan noise or a dvd).  This lasted for about 5 seconds.

then it would just repeat steps 1 & 2 times: start 2 seconds, stop for 5...

Steps that my work to correct (without success):

-J' I disconnected and removed the battery.  Let stand a few minutes.  After I have inserted the battery and reconnected, I pressed the power button.  Same 2 steps as shown above (lit for 2 seconds, turn off for 5, repetition) happened.

-saw a post on the site of HP on a hard reset.  so I unplugged, removed the battery, which is held from the Start button / stop for 20 seconds.  then replugged (without inserting the battery) and power on.  Same 2 steps above happened (lit for 2 seconds, off for 5, repetition...).

-J' I reset memory as someone on the HP Board has suggested:

    (1) remove the two memory, then replace both in the correct order.

Result: same problem (2 seconds 5 seconds, repeat...)

    (2) remove the top memory (1 GB), bottom (2 GB) by leaving in place.

    Result: same problem...

    (3) place 1 GB memory on the bottom, nothing over the top.

    Result: same problem...

From the above information, no idea what the source of the problem is, and how to fix it?

It would be to remove the motherboard and "re-invest" the video chip with a heat gun. Configure you with a shield from sheet aluminium with the chip pushing through like dessert in a TV dinner. There are many tutorials online, but like anything else go you better the more you do and the first time is risky. Repair shops using a better process called "reballing", which is basically rebuild the chip and requires hardware, that no individual can afford to have.

Access to the old hard drive is easy. Physically, remove it from the machine.

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=B3tAGVzCS7w

See 02:20 in. You must remove the plastic adapter for in standard SATA ports. You can leave it in the basket after removing the plastic adapter bar. Then use a usb to SATA adapter and you can plug the old drive on USB ports on your computer again, and it will appear as a USB key where you can copy and paste things out of it to the new PC.

This time on 64-bit. With its completion of its process, this works well for a few hours.
He fell faster now, maybe because its on 64-bit? (any recommendation if its 32 or 64 bit) specifications: i5, 4ram, 1 g ddcatd graphics, family win7 premium,...

Now when I turn it off it never early return time windows say... Startup Repair. ..
I have let it run from this morning till now they can't always find what's the problem (I'm refernce the loptop).

So no idea about whats goin?

    > He fell faster now, maybe because its on 64-bit? (any recommendation if its 32 or 64 bit) specifications: i5, 4ram, 1 g ddcatd graphics, family win7 premium,...

64-bit operating system is better if your computer supports 4 GB or more of RAM.
Why? Because 32-bit Win recognizes max 3.2 GB, even if more RAM is available.
It's limitation of 32-bit; regardless of what OS it is; Linux, Win XP, Vista, Win7, etc.
This is the reason why the 64 bit OS are so popular in the last time

    With regard to the issue of the BONE;
    I recommend that you run a disk recovery again... This means that you need to reinstall the OS usign the option recovery Toshiba;

  • Laptop will not start without the battery attached

    Hello

I have a Hp pavilion dv6700 series (dv6840el) and just, it will not start without the battery attached.

If I plug in the AC adapter, I get some computer activity (fan, noise of the dvd player and HD drive spins) for about 5 seconds, then shuts down.

Once I plug the battery (which is dying, who need a replacement), the laptop starts fine.

The AC adapter looks ok, however. But if I am considering buying a spare battery, I assure you that I have a new adapter as well.

I remove the power cord, battery and devices all connected, press and hold the button on to 30 seconds, reconnect power and then try to start again. WHY IS THERE NO PERMANT SOLUTION?

RESOLVED: I have disassembled the computer, removed from motherboard and heated the motherboard with a dryer of hair, concentrating on the CPU, gpu & Southbridge chips one by one. I warmed up each chip and pushed the chip socket to reinstall and now it works without error.

I now use a portable fan under the laptop to try to keep cooler so that it will not happen.

You see the effects of a hijackware infection!

Personal data backup (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then format the HARD disk and do a clean install of Windows.  Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) will NOT fix it!

HOW to do a clean install of Windows XP: see method 1 and http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html#steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978307

Once installed the clean, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" in order to take care of everything on the next page before connecting the machine to the internet or one local network (i.e. other computers) otherwise and before using a flash drive or the SD card that is not brand new, or has not been freshly formatted:

NB: No matter what Norton or McAfee free trial which is preinstalled on the computer when you bought will be reinstalled (but invalid) when Windows is reinstalled. • L50 - A satellite - state of the power supply is lit, but laptop will not start.

    Hello
A few months ago, I bought a new Toshiba laptop L50 - A Satellite. He worked incredibly in all directions until about a week ago when it lights. He has been connected to the charger with the charging light but does not illuminate. When I press the power button, the small ring of orange around the button light turns on and will be so all the LED lights on the front of the laptop, as well as I can hear the fan and other work items, but the screen remains black. This has been the case for a little over a week now and at random, two of the times I tried to power on my laptop, he turned on and working but then after that be cut, it wouldn't work again. He has not worked since 5 days and since then I tried to turn it on.

One of my friends who knows a thing or two suggested perhaps it was the display that was defective and should I try to connect it to my TV via a HDMI cable. This seemed logical, so I gave him a test in the hope that he'd at least let me know what was the problem, but no fixed image displayed anywhere.

My laptop is almost always connected to the charger and an expensive cooling fan, so I guess that battery and components must still work most of the time, and I've read that this laptop is designed so that you cannot remove the battery, but I do not know how to in any case.

I tried a few different methods to try to start it as now the Start button / stop and the ESC key for 10 seconds, now back while pressing the power button and pressing the power button while pressing F8 repeatedly. But none of them worked so far.

If anyone has any ideas or a way to help, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you, Julian.

    Hello

The L50 - A Satellite supports a stop (hole) switch located at the bottom of the unit.

Cell phone is freezing, do not start or has a power failure, which cannot be resolved by pressing the button for 10 seconds (force shutdown), please use stop force switch instead of the main battery.

During a stop by pressing this button force, the behavior of the system is identical to unplug the AC adapter and remove the main battery.

    More details here:

    Hello

    You are welcome

The player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.

    Hard drive 500 GB

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 47 of your & Maintenance Guide.

Once this is done, simply use your recovery DVD to reinstall the operating system on the new drive - for more details, see the document here.

If you do not have your recovery discs, you can order a replacement set using the link below.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.
