I'm considering buying a LaserJet P1102w. Before I do, I want to ask you a few questions:

    2. Can we create both an ad - hoc network & join my current wireless network?
    3. Are there known issues with Xubuntu 12.10 and OS X Mountain Lion?

    Big questions, edex67.

    (1) the P1102w does support Ad - Hoc connection.  We simply presses the button wireless to the printer to start a show temporary 1 hour.

    (2) the printer is not able to create an Ad - Hoc network and connect to another WiFi network as well.  The printer can only interrect with 1 network at a time.

    (3) I don't know problem with OS X Lion mountain.  As for Linux, HP does not support Linux OS', so I'm not aware of all the issues that can come with this printer and Linux.

suddenly I no longer get the box telling me to "replace the pages in the order" next to 2 pint. It has a few stops printing after 1 side and the interface box tell printer with paper, which is not true, and the icon shows a red! I deleted and readded to the printer, reset the printer system, & run 'fix disk permissions' - nothing changes. What is the solution please?

You have a HP software in your Applications folder?  If so, uninstall the software using the "scrubber":

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
Press on and press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall, it IS the Option of the scrubber, no button is labeled "washer".
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finish

    Restart your Mac

    Now reset the printing system:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Right (control) click inside the box that lists your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

  • LaserJet P1102w: HP LaserJet P1102w prints EXTREMELY slow by Wi - Fi

I was struggling with this problem for a long time, but today it completely freaked me. I was ready to throw this piece of... printer!

Problem is simple. When I try to print something wireless with graphics (jpeg or pictures images) to my iPhone, the iPad iOS 8.4 or the MacBook OS X 10.10 Yosemite, it takes forever! Document Word, PDF, preview or other programs - same result! I couldn't pring 9 pages today, after that 20 minutes, I gave up.

What is going on. Let's say I'm on mac. Special print goes to the queue of the printer, as usual. After that, this task shows in the queue as 'connection to the printer', green light flashing on the printer, as usual. It takes a minute or two, it's this that unusual. After that, "printing page 1 of departure." This can take 1, 2, 3 minutes... forever! Then a page prints in fact (for 5-7 minutes at this stage brand) and it takes time even to print page two and so on, or (probably) it will spit the unfinished page (only two or three inches printed and the rest of the page is empty) and displays an error flashing light orange. UGH!

I gave up on iPhone/iPad it long, since they can't see the print queue and it is the unpredictable result. You can wait 10 minutes for your document, and then leave and then just find the document printed when you no longer need (or half of the document).

I don't have this problem when you print any text, emails, simple confirmation of safari pages and so on. Only when printing document with pdf graphics or heavy. I don't have this problem when you connect the printer via the USB port (discovered this today). Now what really bothers me, is the fact that I actually could print heavy machine PDF Windows without wireless problem (I had exact problem even print document from my mac). What is going on?!

I googled this problem and found that I am not alone. I've updated all the software and firmware, I tried to reset everything - No. DICE! It's really very frustrating. I thought that this is because of the memory of the printer, but why it works perfectly via USB then?

In any case, it is a cry from the heart. Help, please. The printer is good, but unusabe in certain situations.

    Hello @Ivan4!

Welcome to the community of HP.

I hope you have a pleasant experience here!

I want to help you with slow printing that you encounter when you print images of your HP LaserJet P1102w wireless of your Apple devices.

I thank very you much for the detailed description. Because the printer is able to print fine wireless windows machine, we know that the issue is not with the printer or the communication. The fact that none of the Apple devices are able to print wireless images without being really slow, leads me to believe maybe it's a problem with the AirPrint driver or the Hello protocol that your Apple devices use to communicate information.

Image files are much larger, and much more data needs to be transmitted, so it is normal for them to take longer to print than a regular text document. However, if there is a marked difference in speed between the Windows computer and Apple devices, then the question is probably not just the files are larger.

I want you to make sure that the printer is installed with the driver on your Mac. (Because there is no feature complete HP software available for Mac 10.10 operating system will often default to the AirPrint driver)

    1. Click on the Apple icon on your Menu bar.
    2. Select System Preferences.
    3. Choose Printers and Scanners.
    4. Select your printer and press the (-) button at the bottom of the list to remove.
    5. Select (+), and then click Add printers and Scanners. (NOTE: do not select the printer in the list of printers nearby as this will often use the AirPrint driver automatically)
    6. Select your printer (one that shows multifunction Hello under 'Type').
    7. At the bottom of the window under use: does say AirPrint? If so, click on the drop-down list , and you should see a specific driver for the printer. Click on Add.
    8. Try to print a picture once again and let me know the result.

If it works to solve the problem, then I suggest downloading the HP ePrint app on your iPhone / iPad to print. It may be a problem of incompatibility between the AirPrint on your Apple devices and your router.

I look forward to hear from you and work at a resolution of this problem.

  • HP LaserJet P1102w: No Office Depot compatible cartridge

Install a my HP LaserJet P1102w printer Office Depot remanufactured laser toner cartridge. Now, I can't print from the HP Pavilion laptop. My wife can always print from his computer apple laptop, and I still can not print from my old Pavilion Slimline desktop, but cannot print from my most recent HP laptop. I just get "INCOMPATIBLE CARTRIDGE" warning. Do I need a driver of dumbed-down?

    Hi @SafetySteve ,

I see that you are having problems printing since the departure of the toner with toner HP - no, but the other 2 computers are still able to print. I'd love to help you.

I guess so that the error comes from a computer then and not the screen of the printer.

You can try and uninstall and reinstall the printer software to see if it will solve the problem.

You may need to obtain a genuine HP toner so he can be recognized correctly if the problem persists.

  • "Printer Validation failed" on HP LaserJet p1102w

When you use the software of HP ePrint on Windows 7 Pro x 64, I get the error 'Failure of Validation printer' when printing a pre-configured HP Laserjet p1102w printer wireless. It occurs after the selection of the printer 'HP ePrint' & clicking on print, then clicking the printer wireless found on the ePrint window. I am able to use the ePrint for Android & iOS app to print correctly on the same printer. I intend to use this printer to print wireless from several rooms of conference on different floors, so a USB conection is not an option. Does anyone know how to solve this problem, so I no longer receive this error of the ePrint Windows software?

In addition, the printer has the latest version of the firmware 20130213. And I tried to remove the password from the printer, but it still produces the error.

I understand now. The works of ePrint better if driver you need multiple computers to access a printer on a different network by turning on ePrint in the printer embedded web server, printing a page of information with a printer (request code) code and complete the implementation at www.hpconnected.com.  Otherwise, you need to install full feature software and drivers (the link is to the American version of Windows 7 64-bit) on each computer and make sure that each device is on the same network as the printer.

I have included a link here with more information on how to set up ePrint.  Respectively, it seems that you do not want to use the ePrint feature and for this purpose, you will continue to have problems with the ePrint driver designed for this specific purpose.  If you have any other questions, I'm happy to help you.

  • HP Laserjet P1102w: HP Laserjet P1102w not recognized in Windows 8.0; driver needed

Trying to install HP Laserjet P1102w on Dell desktop running Windows 8.0. The installer always stops and says to connect the printer by USB, but it is already connected and turned on. Had to remove peripheral devices after he worked temporarily, but now I can't find the driver - have the disc. How to recognize the driver on disk file?

    Hi @artjourneyer,

I see that you have problems get printer recognised and you will need to find the file on the CD for the printer. I will definitely do my best to help you.

The file would be .inf from the CD.

I would say to download and use the latest drivers for Windows 8. HP LaserJet Full Feature software and driver.

Turn on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation. The USB cable should not be more then 6 feet. Make sure that the USB cable is connected directly to the computer. (not a station or a hub) Try a different USB port on the computer. You may need to try another USB cable.

Try and print a self-test on the printer hardware to see if it is a hardware problem. If the printer is not in a ready state, the computer does not recognize it. Printing a Configuration Page. Select the method two.

This can occur when the printer is already recognized as the USB connection and windows does not yet detect. Remove the USB cable plugged in, remove the printer from the Device Manager.

    To access the Device Manager:

Press the windows key and press X on the keyboard at the same time in the office.

Then click on Device Manager in the list.

Verify that connections in Device Manager for the entries of the printer, under Bus USB controllers look for a USB print media or anything with an exclamation yellow, storage device or an unknown device. Right click and uninstall the device.

Then reconnect the USB cable and it must be detectable again.

You set up the printer on the wireless network?

  • print - Laserjet P1102w - new install via USB

I tried twelve ways to Sunday to get my new Laserjet P1102w to print.  The installation, which took place today, seems to agree.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software a couple of times.  A test page is quickly obtained at the end of each facility.  But when I try to print a document, it never makes it to the printer.  Rather, bunch printing just straight up in a queue in the printer on the computer dialog box that clear periodically.

I ran the HP diagosntic tool.  He told me that everything is fine.

I installed the printer to an HP Optiplex running Windows7 64 bit.  It is on a network, but I have deskadmin access.

All the lights on the printer appear to be in good condition.  Nothing that connects, just a light green continuous.

The question is, why I can not get print comands to my computer (where they appear in the queue) to the printer.

At one point, I was wondering if something was wrong with the USB cord.  It's long, 16 feet.  But it works well enough to produce the test page to each facility.

Any advice will be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Minonk

    HI Minonk,

The connection peut be at fault; the fact that you can get this test page to print means that it is probably OK.  If you can swap a new cable, try this after everything and maybe move the printer more ready for a test.  Again, that is if all other fails...

Try restarting the spooler.  There are two ways to do this.  You can buy - they're basically the same thing and it's just a matter of which the way is most comfortable for you.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Control Panel > display icon > Administrative Tools > Services > scroll down... look for > Print Spooler > click on restart the Service

    OR

    • Start > search / type > "cmd" > click on "Cmd.exe".
Type net stop spooler , and then press the enter key

Box: If you delete the queue print jobs, you can do this here with:

    • Type del %windir%\system32\spool\printers\*.*/q , and then press the enter key

Note: the only spaces in this command is a single space between led and % and a single space between * and / q

    • Type net start spooler , and then press the enter key
    • Type exit , and then press enter to exit Cmd.exe

  • Security key for HP Professional Laserjet P1102w

I have a HP Laserjet P1102w of professional and wanted to use it in wireless direct printing. The connection to the printer networkhas no problem and it can print nicely. But I can't find a way to define a security (e.g. the WEP key or password) key for the wireless connection. In this case, if there is no security key has been defined, then someone in the area could be easily connect to the printer and use it for printing.

    The question:

Is it possible to set a security key for the wireless connection?

    Thank you before.

    Hello

The WEP key or password is on your router, not your printer. Which key WEP other devices (computer (s)) use? Without the WEP key or security key password, anyone can use you your network.

    Kind regards.

  • HP LaserJet P1102w & Wireless Mountain Lion

I just bought a new HP LaserJet P1102w and cannot connect it via radio to my Mac at all. I am running Mac OS 10.8 with the latest software updates. I already downloaded and installed the latest software and firmware directly from the HP site. I can't seem to set up the printer to work on the wireless, although the site HP says that it is taken in charge by Mac OS 10.8.

When I go to system preferences > print & scan > Options and... office supplies > utility > Open Printer Utility > HTML Config... to try and connect to my WiFi (running on a brand new terminal, Airport Express), all I get is the following:

This page contains the following errors:

error on line 6 in column 48: entity 'nbsp' not defined

error on line 12 in column 8: beginning and ending tag mismatch: connect the line 0 and head

Here is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

    HP LaserJet Professional 1102wUSB P

How am I supposed to use this printer wireless? Your site says it is supported, but when I have all the updates of software and firmware on my printer and my computer, it does not work. I'm extremely disappointed in HP right now and I hope you can provide a viable solution.

Mac OS 10.7 has been out for more than a year-and-a-half and Mac OS 10.8 came out for almost 3 months now. It's ridiculous and disprespectful your customers do not have good drivers and firmware available to ensure that your prodcut works as you say it should.

I look forward to your solution.

    Hi JustenB84,

So when you installed the driver that I've shared with you, have you tried configuring wireless via the configuration HTML again utility? Open the queue for the printer (USB), and then click settings. Select the utility, and then open the Laserjet utility. Then click on Config of HTML. The tool now comes so that you can enter the settings of your wireless network?

  • LaserJet P1102W: print

My HP Laserjet P1102W is about two years old.  He has recently stopped working and a member of the staff of HP used a remote access connection to download new drivers to make it work again usuing a USB cable.  I received a phone call the next day to check the printer was now repaired and I accepted everything was fine.

I did not check that wireless however until yesterday and it does not work.  My wife connects to the wireless printer and everything was fine until the repair.  The message she gets when she tries to print, is that the printer is offline although it was lit.

There is another problem.  When I turn on the printer the green light is solid, then flashes intermittently and then turns off.  I remember when it was new I could put to sleep after five minutes and he wakes up and print when a request has been sent.  I can't find a way to do it now.

Repairs any help would be most appreciated.  I'm not very good with technology would contribute to simple language.

    I use 10 64-bit Windows.

    Thank you

    Mick8

    Hi @Mick8,

Most likely, it is a problem of network connectivity and not the printer. I would try the steps listed below.

When you run the Wireless Network Configuration, it should automatically find the SSID. (it is the name of your network)

Since it is not automatically find, power cycle the router and try to run it again.

Make sure that the computer is connected to the appropriate network.

Let me know how it goes. Thank you.

  • HP Laserjet P1102W - cannot install on Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello

I'm unable to install the software for my laserjet p1102w. I tried the install CD, USB install and install downloadable. I get the error message is below. I ran through almost every tutorial tech support on the HP Web site as well as a few websites of third 3rd, and I'm about to throw this printer out the window. A few things about my setup: the printer is already connected to the network by other computers (Vista, who had no problem with installation). I am running Windows 7 64-bit on an Acer Aspire 5745 G.

    Hi smcconn5,

There are a few other things that we can try to get the printer completely installed and operational.

    Unplug the USB cable.

Uninstall the software from the CD.

Go to start, computer, right click on the CD drive and select open, and then double-click on uninstall.

    Restart the computer.

Then go back to start, computer, right click on the CD drive and select open, then right click on the installer and select run as administrator.

    I hope it will work.

Another that you can try is to create a new user account with full Admin rights and try to reinstall the printer. How to create a new user account in Windows 7

If you still have questions then I would contact Microsoft to see if they can help with this error to the administrator.

Let me know how make you out.

  • HP Laserjet P1102w does not appear in the list print and fax OS 10.5.8

Receive a HP Laserjet 1102w and tried to install it on Mac OS 10.5.8.  I downloaded and ran the HP drivers but when I go to add the printer in system preferences/printers and faxes in the list of available printers is empty.  I tried several routines suggested by a search on the web about the problem without result.

Everyone out there solved this problem?

Thank you for your attention.  I found the solution.  See below.

The printer is connected by USB and I also tried to get the wireless connection.  I had intermittent progress on both fronts, but could not make a successful installation of USB connection or wireless connection.  The printer would "disappear" the list of available printers (using the '+' to add a printer, OS 10.6.8) or does not meet the installation commands.  And I could not connect the printer wireless to my network of 'take'

Print the configuration page was of no use.  If the printer is unable to connect to the wireless network, it reports the IP address of the printer such as 0.0.0.0.

    TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM

(clicking + under "Print and Fax" printer is not displayed or the name of the printer is removed)

    (1) replace the USB - the original was sensitive to cut;

    (2) give up the wireless - to - wireless set up methods - no amount of factory reset does not erase block of connection of mystery;

    (3) set up the connection through a USB cable wireless (good);

    (3) to switch the browser used to display the configuration page from the printer in Firefox (for Mac OS 10.6.8 34.0.5) for Safari

    (4) use security mode WPA (WEP not as suggested by HP help files).

The main troublemaker was the bad USB cable.  Go to put wireless in place assume that the printer can connect to the network. As already mentioned, the WiFi was not working.  Network blue light would not come into balance.  A transmission option was blocking handshaking between the printer and my wireless router.  I tried unsuccessfully recommended factory reset methods.

I needed a good USB connection to access the printer configuration options.

Don't know which increased with Firefox - a plugin bad or something?  It would be not just connect them to the printer via IP addressing.  Safari worked fine.  (The printer is now successfully Setup that Firefox has decided to work too.)

    THE SOLUTION IS:

    (1) connect the printer and Mac via a cable (good);

    (1) use Safari to go to the printer setup functions (through the system preferences/print & / fax options & supplies show printer web page);

    (2) follow the recommended configuration options (HP support for Laserjet P1102w, OS 10.6, via a USB cable to connect wireless);

    (3) select the appropriate wireless in the list;

    (4) restore WPA security mode; and

    (5) to give the printer the correct wireless network password.

Thank you and the forum, for your help.

  • LaserJet p1102w: HP Smart Install Drive

    Hello

I have a HP LaserJet p1102w connected to my PC via USB. It works very well and is shared on the network. One thing that is weird is the presence of a virtual CD drive (H:\), titled "HP Smart Install. It's there whenever I start my computer, even if I eject it or take it apart. My question is "why is the disc it? ' and ' how can I get rid of him? Normally, I don't care, but I think that his presence begins to interfere with operation of my real CD/DVD-ROM. The drive does not open and is not available for virtual machines on my computer because they are mounted.

    Thank you

    Jason

    Hey Jason,

The HP Smart Install drive is a virtual drive, containing the installation of the printer driver.

You can disable the feature by using the HP Smart Install Utility below.

Follow the steps by selecting your printer and click on the printer button, then turn the feature off and confirm:

  • LaserJet P1102w: Router reboot printer wireless problem cures - why?

Ive had this printer (P1102w LaserJet) for a year now. Sometimes its been very well, other times as recently happened constantly offline. Its driving me crazy.

I just read online that can help to restart the router and the last two times, my printer went offline, restart the router has healed (power cycling of the printer, by running a utility that stops & starts the spooler - did any of these things).

So my question is - why reboot the router to fix this? Both times I was surfing online with this same router, and I have not noticed any problem with this router. And secondly, is there a setting that I can change into my router so that it will not goof the printer wireless?

    HP LaserJet p1102w

OK, I'm about ideas.  I suggest check the firmware, there is a version 20150114 which was released end of March 2015 available here.

It can also help to go through all the steps described in the paper here.

If none of these solves the problem I will ask one of the HP support officers rush in this thread, they may have some additional suggestions.
