Last Microsoft updates (KB2660465, KB2647516 and KB2661637) causes XP to hang

Just installed the latest updates from Microsoft on XP Service Pack 3, after the user connects, there literally minutes 10 to 20 minutes of watching a black screen and a cursor of the mouse so that it loads.

Tried to boot in safe mode and uninstalled KB2660465, KB2647516 and KB2661637. Cannot be said that it has especially caused the problem but good computer presto sprang into life.

I think this must raise to Microsoft.

See you soon

  • problem with automatic updates and Microsoft Update in Windows XP Service Pack 3

My sister has a problem with the automatic updates. He has offered 6 updates and she moved them, but next time, she turned on the computer, he was offered the same 6 updates again. She has set up 5 or 6 times now, but she is always offered the same 6 updates every time she turns on the computer.  She tried yesterday to go to the web site Microsoft Update and update his computer, but it runs into the same problem. Microsoft Updates installed updates to update, but after restarting the computer and try to update again, he was offered the same 6 updates.

I try to help fix and I need help.

I tried stopping the service automatic updates, delete the contents of the download folder, update the Microsoft Updates web site and then by restarting the service of updates without result. She also tried to remove the 4 updates, she could find in Add/Remove Programs, but also without result.

    Help, please.

Or you can open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & run the difficulty in DEFAULT and modes then AGGRESSIVE and then restart. [1]

Note: Microsoft offers free support for security updates only. Since KB982524 KB982168 & NOT related to security updates, free support is NOT available for them.

  • Microsoft Update problems with Belkin router

I installed the last Microsoft Update (yesterday) and from that moment, my router works.  I confirmed that the router is fine (it sends the signal without problems to other devices) so I'm sure it was the Microsoft update that caused the problem. How to take care of this problem?  I have a Belkin F7D2301 Surf v1000.  Any help you could provide would be much appreciated.

In fact I thought to it.  There was an update that was missing from my Belkin (for some reason, the update was not necessary before the update).  As soon as I installed the update (click on "check for updates"), the problem has been resolved.  Thanks for your help, if.

  • Microsoft Update is broken?

After the patches Microsoft November 2014 have been released, I have connected to the Microsoft Update web site and look for updates for Office 2007 Suite installed on my computer, and Office 2007 has been patched successfully; my computer still has loaded XP but I also genuine Office 2007 is installed, including Microsoft Update (not Windows Update) regularly checks the updates. Yesterday I even clicked on Microsoft Update (http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate... but the page did not open and displays the message "this site has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to display.) "The error no.: 0 x 80248015. My second computer with XP but with genuine Office 2007 could not be connected to the Microsoft Update web page either and the same message was displayed, which shows that the error is not specific to one computer. Microsoft Update web site is temporarily down? Or started Microsoft prevent users from Windows XP from Microsoft Update, even if these users always have other Microsoft products like office and always need to run Microsoft Update. The procedure gave me last year I've updated Windows Update on the second computer components, where the Update window now properly works but as soon as I go to Microsoft Update from Windows Update, the error message is displayed. So, it is definitely a problem with Microsoft Update. The computer clock is synchronized automatically and I also synchronize manually at any time.

I would appreciate help with this problem, because I still need to update Office 2007 by Microsoft Update.

EDIT: the problem with the "microsoft update" site has been fixed...

    -------------------------------------------

something is wrong with the site "microsoft update"... I and many others, who are running either "windows xp" or "windows Server 2003", have experienced the same problem that you encounter with the site "microsoft update"... See this thread for a reference:

I have restored my file system and wireless have once again... until the update download and install again.

I said whenever updates are installed - which some apparently are unable to install.

This has happened for three days. Help. I'm exhausting my restore!

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community. I really appreciate your efforts to solve the problem.

I would like to know some more information to refine the question and provide you with better assistance.

    1. You get a network error or notification?
    2. What is the number installed upgrading KB recently after the question?

    {For the KB updates of failure numbers, follow the underlying steps: }

    1. Open Windows Update by clicking on the Start button. In the search box, type Updateand then in the list of results, click Windows Update.
    2. In the left pane, click view update history. Check the recent update installed.}

The problem can occur for various reasons, including incorrect TCP/IP settings configured, firewalls third of anti-virus programs blocking the connection, or due to bad the advanced sharing settings. So, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if you system is able to detect the wireless network.

    Method 1:

First of all, please check if the WLAN service is started and set to automatic. If it is stopped, then I suggest you to start the service and set it to automatic.

    1. Click Start, type services.msc in the Start Search and press ENTER.
    2. Select the Autoconfiguration WLAN service in the list and double-click it.
    3. Change the startup to Automatic type, then click Start to start the service.
    4. Click apply and then click OK.
    5. Restart the computer and verify if the network is detected. If this is not the case, proceed to method 2.

    Method 2:

Reset the DNS and TCP/IP settings.

    1. Click the Start button, click all programs, and click Accessories.
    2. Right-click command prompt, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. Please enter the following commands and press ENTER after each one.
      NETSH INT IP RESET
      IPCONFIG/FLUSHDNS
    4. Restart the computer to check the issue.

Check if the system is able to detect the network. If this is not the case, go to method 3.

    Method 3:
Temporarily disable the security software and check if it helps.
    Disable the anti-virus software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
