Legacy mode TPM

I am trying to initialize TPM on 8.1 windows and IE...

"Your TPM module is running in the traditional way. If you do not use the application of the TPM for this version of Windows, please contact your administrator. »

Now, I once clear TPM. Turn off and turn on still no change in the BIOS. I use the UEFI bios and secure startup is enabled. Can anyone suggest how can I activate the coz TPM, I need to encrypt my hard drive without TPM, it's a very difficult thing to do.

My laptop is E6530 of Latitude.

1. open Regedit.

2 registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\TPM

Navigate to: DWORD: OSManagedAuthLevel

3. change the value from 0 to 4 (decimal)

4 reboot. TPM must be available to work with now.

5. Read Source link: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj679889.aspx do not forget to understand the consequences where authorization of TPM is stored.

    Hello

How to check the MSDS 13.2 running MSD Agent (legacy mode) or TMS provisioning or extension of TMS provisioning services.

    Kind regards

    Siva

My TMS is strictly using Extension of Provisioning, because I am running 14.3.2 TMSPE is the only option for me, so I can't provide a screenshot.

However check you by going to: administrative tools > Configuration > General settings, look for the commissioning Mode.

That said, I suggest that you consider migrating to TMSPE if you have not already, that the recent version of TMS have removed TMS Agent legacy mode.  If you want to use the latest versions of TMS and take advantage of the features it provides, you will need to perform the migration, if not already done.

If your HARD drive has of a table partition guid, the current operating system must be installed in mode "uefi" - the only way around this would be to reformat the hard disk with MBR and reinstall the OS using a startup (CD-ROM or USB key) option that does not have a suffix (uefi).

  • (Redirected) Is it bad start for Alienware Aurora R4 (UEFI, legacy) mode?

Recently, I made the stupid mistake of updating my bios as bios 5 to 12 because I get a new graphics card soon and heard that you must update the bios first. As planned, it was wrong and it crashed when rebooting and all-day was stuck at a black screen when starting my PC saying to choose the priority of seed or something.

Finally, I tried everything to do in F12 menu, I decided to spend the boot mode in the UEFI to legacy. He actually began after doing this and luckily my hard drive is intact, but he had some interesting things that I noticed. First of all, my HARD disk space seems to decrease slightly as I realized to my PC. Second, there was weird stuff with Alien Autopsy (not really, but it has an error message). Also it could run a little bit slower. Hard to say. It starts more slowly as well. Then, change the dangerous startup parameters, or I made the right choice? Or I just ruin my PC today?

I have an Alienware Aurora R4 running any Windows 7.

  • Brand new Aspire XC - 603G (ACX - 603 G-UW31). Windows 7 will not install in Legacy Mode

    Hello

I am trying to configure a newly purchased office of Acer (Aspire ACX - 603 G-UW31), who has installed Windows 8.1, for my mother who cannot grasp the steep learning curve of Windows 7 to Windows 8.

I have a licensed copy of Windows 7 x 64 on DVD, and even after the SecureBoot mode off then launch MSC forever and then starting with F12, by selecting the DVD drive as a boot device, Windows will not install correctly.

The very first steps of the configuration are very well, it is, I'm asking the press actually starts to any key to boot from the DVD, Windows Setup loads some files, but the problem comes when the installation of Windows. I get a STOP error to the ASF with the message "The BIOS in this system is not fully complaint ACPI." There is no BIOS update for this model. That's the traditional way...

    Any ideas?

    Thank you, Nick

    All,

  • Starting in Legacy Mode?

    HP Pavilion h8 - 1240t

    Windows 7 64 bit

I had many hard drive problems recently, and now the BIOS lists over my Hitachi 1 TB HARD drive in the boot order, but under Legacy Boot Sources I see hard (SATA0).

I think I can solve my problem, if I could just boot using that, but I don't see no visible option to allow these Sources of boot Legacy.

Nevermind, I found it. I had not noticed the option disable on the list of the UEFI.

  • Cannot boot from CD - DVD in LEGACY mode - NO Secure Boot UEFI NOT

You just bought an Optiplex 7010 minitower with Win 8 Pro 64 - bit, 8 GB of RAM, 500 GB HDD and an Intel i5 processor 3470.  Now he has BIOS version A16.

It is normally ON UEFI and Secure Boot on IT and F12 at startup does NOT normally display the CD-DVD as a boot option.  OK - no problem.

However, if I reboot with F12 and select UEFI OFF (meaning WE legacy) and Secure Boot SHUTDOWN and reboot, then F12 DON'T show me the CD - DVD as a startup option, but if I actually try to boot from a bootable CD, I get an error message.

I practiced with two CD bootable - a Knoppix I did on a XP machine an Aomei Backupper I did on a Win 7 machine.  These CD working as in my old XP machine boot CD, and the CD of Backupper of Aomei worked someone else machine Win 7 Pro 64 bit.

    What's wrong?

Again, please let me repeat that I am trying to boot from the CD-DVD AFTER I have turned OFF UEFI, turned on the legacy and off Secure Boot.

    Thank you.

Speed - although you predicted, I am amazed at what I did today.

I bought a second hard drive (in white) and installed Win 7 Pro 64 - bit SP1 on it.  (I unplugged the first hard drive which has my Win 8 Pro 64-bit.  (Later to figure out how to dual-boot - no not yet for that.)

What struck me is that I have installed SP1 for Win 7 Pro 64-bit while my BIOS is UEFI - it's ON UEFI and Secure Boot off.  (Enable Legacy ROM is enabled.)  BIOS is the Windows Boot Manager.  The Win 7 Pro 64 - bit SP1 DVD ran perfectly on my CD - DVD unit - no problems of any kind.  The machine has restarted several times, as I adjusted it settings and added the resource of Dell Media CD drivers.

Disk Management displays only two partitions - a little with the legend "Healthy (EFI System Partition)" and then my C:\ drive, which is indicated be NTFS and 'in good condition (boot, Page File, crash dump, primary Partition).  The properties for the entire drive 0 said "Partition Style: GUID Partition Table (GPT).

Now - is it good or bad?  If one day I try to dual-boot, what is incompatible with the four partitions on my hard drive to win 8 (now offline)?  Install this fake Win 7?

I'm even more amazed than the Win 7 Pro 64 - bit auto installed SP1 with a product key that is different from the product key for my Win 8 Pro 64-bit.  The Dell OEM Windows 7 installation disc done by himself - I don't have to enter anything.  Which is good news for a future dual-boot, Yes?

I have NOT yet connected to the internet.

Now, when I unplugged my hard drive of origin WIn 8, I disconnected the Sata data cable and used for the new hard drive Win 7 added.  If the new hard drive is connected to data SATA motherboard even as the drive of origin 8 Win.  Well, at some point when I use two hard drives, one of them should be connected to another plug SATA on the MB - but not yet.

Well... How do I fortunately to this stage so far?

  • Possible to install Win 8 of recovery in Legacy Bios mode discs?

Is it possible to install Win 8 of recovery disks in Legacy Bios instead of UEFI mode, as it comes with?

Or will install it automatically use UEFI mode and configure start secure even if your bios is set to Legacy Bios installation mode for Windows 8?

    In addition,

If I install a clean copy of windows 8 from the official Microsoft Windows 8 Core RTM dvd (same version as my system) and it detects and accepts the built in Win 8 product key and key of CD which is built in my Bios and it activates as valid installation and activeted - this void my warranty?

(It's the same exact Windows version and license I paid HP for except it has not added recovery partition or software of HP so I don't think he would cancel warranty... especially since installation has accepted the built in bios keys - but is this correct?)

Don't know everything if the recovery will install in legacy mode, try and see.

Install a different copy of the same version do not cancel the warranty. However sometimes HP will require you to reinstall OS original to avoid the possibility of problems or if you need warranty service. Don't forget to burn your defined recovery disk before destroying the origianl OS.

You can also find it advantageous to burn them to dvd or save to hard drive USB external your C:\SwSetup file with drivers and software provided on the original laptop. Save a lot of time to download on another computer and transfer it later.

  • S205 & Win8 - how to force the legacy BIOS mode?

    Hello

AFAIK the S205 features of two different interfaces:
    Legacy and UEFI BIOS.

Windows 8 is compatible with both.
With the help of UEFI, Windows will partition the drive with TPG.
Using the BIOS, it will be with the MBR.

The main problem is that - probably due to malfunction of the drivers - there are a few major problems when using GPT with this netbook. You can find many discussions about cards WiFi works do not for example.

I'm looking for is an option to start the installation of Windows 8 through the BIOS from a USB interface.
The S205 does not have an optical drive and I not one or the other.

Thanks in advance for any help.

PS: As it is not a driver issue, I'm not this announcement in forum Windows 8.

After some research, it comes to use successfully the Ralink Wifi with Windows 8 on the s205 - own USB Installer.

You must install Windows 8 in legacy mode (click on "IDE" in BIOS).

BUT - you must * also * remove "bootmgr.efi" and USB \efi\, before installing. If you do not, the USB key will still install in EFI!

If you have already installed Windows 8 IDE USB mode, you should check whether your installation is IDE/legacy or EFI - open this log file:

    \Windows\Panther\setupact.log

    Search this text:

    Callback_BootEnvironmentDetect: Environment detected: BIOS

    = you have IDE/legacy install

    .. .or

    Callback_BootEnvironmentDetect: Environment detected: UEFI

    = you have EFI install

(This information is extracted from http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=209045)

If you see EFI/UEFI in the log file, you must reinstall Windows 8.

The only problem I have now is that Windows is freezing sometimes, so I intend to reinstall from different USB drives in the event of corruption of file etc.

    I hope this helps.

  • None of my graphics cards work, not even in safe legacy!

As the title suggests, none of my graphics cards work for my pavilion p7 - 1597c. The only way I can see my screen is when I have no graphics card in probably due to the fact of secure boot. It does not work even with this option disabled. So, I must also have a slot pciex16 security disabled to make it work, but now I can not detect any of my maps I have. I have disabled the start safe and active start inherited countless times with a bunch of different options without success. Having to remove my countless of times graphics cards is very annoying so I can reset the settings and try the different settings. Maybe theres something wrong with the bios? But I don't know, I'm just really mad that I can't play my games in my library of steam because of this.

Here is the article I've tried: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03653226

    Used graphics cards:

    MSI AMD RADEON 7730 1GD5

    AMD SAPHIRE 7770 1GD5

    NVIDIA GTX 660 1GD3

Well I fixed, so for all models of p7 - 1597c, you must have the legacy mode and you must also have enabled pciex16 to secure, but it also disables the use of your other two dvi ports. This case is now closed.

  • M91p ((modèle 4524) will not sleep)

Hi - I wonder if anyone can help me with this problem - I got a M91p Tower (model 4524) for a couple of years - has decided to upgrade to Windows 8.1 and operate using the UEFI.

I installed Windows 8.1 with the game to the mobo in the UEFI but cannot get the system to correctly put it to sleep. When I select sleep the screen turns off but power light stays on (instead of Flash) and all the fans (CPU, system and PCU) keep turning constantly. Only way out is to press and hold the power button for a few seconds until that everything goes off then re - start the PC...

So far, I've tried several things, including:

    1. three power supplies (the original LiteOn, a Corsair 750w and a 750w Silverstone)

    2. two x 110 SanDisk SSD and original WD HARD drive

3 enable/disable Fast Boot in the BIOS options

    4 turn on hybrid sleep

5 enabled fast-start up in BIOS

6 turn the wake-up timers in Power Options

7 turn USB suspend timers in Power Options

    8. for many generations, ensuring the all latest updates/apps for Windows and Lenovo are installed and not installed

    9. update to the latest version of the BIOS (9HKT58AUS)

None of them made no difference, the problem remains. If I install Win8.1 with the motherboard in legacy mode, then I get a build no UEFI which works very well when it comes to sleep.

In the case where someone asks why, I have my PC get up at night to perform various regular back-ups/copies of data to a number of other devices - I don't want to lose this functionality. Similarly, because the mobo allegedly supports UEFI, I thought it was a good opportunity to discover it clogged.

I also tried the 'Diagnostics UEFI Lenovo tool', but get an error that it is not compatible with this version of PC. I also tried to enter the parameters of the UEFI via recovery / troubleshoot / advanced but on re-booting there is no "UEFI firmware settings" option available.

    Any help much appreciated...

Just in case anyone else comes across this and asked what was the solution - it seems that the problem only occurs if the o/s is installed using the TPG - if so the only solution so far is to convert legacy MBR - see this full thread:
