Lenovo G580AM in service

As a follow-up on the question to another post. August 1, I bought a Lenovo G580AM. After a week of August 8, began to show objects on my screen when I move the screen. Problem with the hinges or monitor cable that connects the motherboard LED screen. I tried two things: to update the drivers and nVidia GPU BIOS disableing (hoping it's a software problem), nothing worked.

So on August 9, I called Lenovo Romania who told me that someone will pick up my laptop in 2 days for service.

When the mail came, I asked him if he knows where my laptop will be sent. ' Course, Poland.

So my laptop was picked up by a post on 12 August and arrived in service in Poland on 20 August.

The guys from Lenovo Romania called sometime the week last to tell me that the question was not evident in the service. As if I was crazy enough to send all the way to the Poland without having real problems.

My cell phone is always at the Service of Polland. I'm quite annoyed about this problem and I have severe duoubts about this brand now. I chose this laptop for the next five years. In my past 5 years I've had an Asus X55sv who has flawless job. I think back when it happens because I am not willing to send my laptop for 3 weeks in Poland for each unique problem.

Short story: I bought a new laptop of lenevo a months I used only 1 week ago.

My computer came back yesterday. Apparently, there was a disconnected cable (the that connects the screen to the motherboard, I assumed). All very well and good, my problem is solved.

Now I'm trying to restore my backup before the first journey service and I have a problem that is bound in another thread.

    I have my laptop (Lenovo W520) in the month of August, a few months later I realized that my laptop is defective; CPU stuck @ 800mz, but this problem has been corrected with the bios update. Then another big problem arises, a lot, a lot of blue screen of death 0 x 00000124. It is related to the CPU or the motherboard.

    I contacted a Service authorised of Lenovo in Cambodia and brought my laptop it 3 times.

    • First time I show the receptionist my BSOD because it happends right after starting the laptop, after 2 weeks, they said that they have cleaned up the dust in the laptop and could not find any evidence on the record of service to the center of the Viet Nam process. I pick up and use a few hours.
    • I went back to the centre and insist again, the problem exists and asked them to go ahead with the replacement of the motherboard. After a few days, they said they saw the error and treat the mobo replacement, asked me to wait for 10 days.
    • Today, they called and told me to take me the laptop confirmed has replaced the motherboard, I was surprised that the team could do this job in 7 days.

    When I'm back home, I did different test as I used to do before. Just make the laptop run maximum performance, then I got the blue screen. I doubt if the motherboard has been replaced, so I check the CPU - Z then my VID core always same mv 0.0745 idle. Then I dug more deeply and lucky enough I have a saved file before I take to the service.

    I noticed that the serial number of the motherboard is the same then I open the ram on the bottom slot and from old things, therefore my conclusion is that the authorized Service of Lenovo in Cambodia has lied on the replacement of the motherboard.

    I also see another problem, Capslock, Mute, Mic, Power LED does not work.

    And my question is should I continue to use this service and get the best service? And my laptop error (including the error led) is still guaranteed?

    I have written in this forum, but not much helped. I hope I get better support for now and please answer me.

    I don't think that the core VID would change with a motherboard replacement.

    The CPU itself is perhaps at fault instead?

    Swapping out the motherboard probably takes an hour or two for an experienced technician.

    Lenovo contract stores local tech to do the job. If you are looking for a Lenovo authorized service center, you should be able to go there and ask them to fix it in person.

    No one answered, but I found a solution. I installed the original version of the rom of the LINE, at least I think, the androidmtk.com site. And everything works normally. So far, no bugs. Google services are preinstalled. After update without problem.

  • Dedicated microphone Lenovo L420 button does not.

    Model: 7829 AL1

    • Reinstalled Windows 7 x 64 bit. (All the drivers installed)
    • ThinkVantage communications utility installed
    • Shortcut keyboard driver installed.

    Problem:

    All the dedicated as volume keys up/down works with the exception of Thinkvantage button and the microphone mute button.

    Tried the solution.

    Other forms also tried to reinstall the utility hotkeys and inforation. First installation of drivers and software shortcut keys then.

    More information below.

    Two services Lenovo camera Mute service running and starts automatically.

    Second Service Lenovo Microphone mute service does not start. I get the following error in service.

    Please see the duide to solve the problem. I've got it sorted.

    First install the dirvers & all the utility software lenovo (autolock, optimization of reading etc) based on your model number.

    Please keep the following sequence.

    Communication utility

    Power management utility

    Hot Key Utility (pilot for first use and rest all others later)

    Hope this will solve the problem for others, without spending much time to figger it.

  • X 1 carbon (Gen3 20BS) may not start, nothing else than to the BIOS

    Yesterday I had a few pilots, as well as the update of the BIOS updates. BIOS seems to update successful (now its 1,14), all under BIOS works. I had 2 OS: win10 and Ubuntu with grub. I've been a happy user of all these for several months, but...

    The problem is that I can't start any OS or OS installation even after an update of pilot (which was done through Lenovo utility for Win10)! Recovery ISOs, diagnostic tools... Nothing can be started. BTW, I know how to deal with secure boot and legacy mode. I can handle start the process of starting anything listed above, but they all have the same behavior. That they freeze at the beginning. Everything that involves just ACPI hangs at startup. Linux crashes after the message "ACPI Tables successfully asked" or sth like that. Win10 displays the points that go around 1 second and then crashes. If I add "acpi = off" to Linux boot options, it starts (but almost nothing works there without acpi support). Things that do not work for ACPI. For example, I can update the BIOS of drinks ISOS. It still does not help because my BIOS version is the most recent and it does not restore.

    It cannot be the hardware problem such as it appeared after Windows drivers updated and flashed a firmware (not BIOS, but I don't know what it was exactly). I can access the data on the SSD and you can see some newspapers if necessary.

    Hope of assistance how Flash again all the firmware on laptop boot USB possible? What can be flashed with the exception of the BIOS?

    Hi all

    I'll start with the Technical Details of my laptop:

    • Carbon Lenovo X 1
    • Bought about 2 months ago (new) from a dealer in the United States
    • i5 3rd generation @ 1.7 GHz
    • 4 GB of DDR3 memory (soldered to the motherboard)
    • 128 GB SSD (Samsung), must be SATA III (6 GB/s) I guess
    • Windows 8 Pro x 64

    In addition:

    • + 40 GB of free space on the hard disk
    • Original charger used, always
    • Laptop was never "opened" (IE with screws)
    • device used mainly to text editing, navigation, and Photoshop
    • Applications/information services: Apple iTunes, Dropbox, Lenovo mouse/trackpad service and startup utilities services like Google Update, update Java, Adobe Reader Speedlaunch
    • I keep my laptop most of the time, I simply put my computer in sleep mode (in other words: I close the lid of the laptop)
    • I play games on this laptop, but of course I don't expect the battery to last several hours by. The battery runs out quickly that in "normal" situations - games, video editing, and a lot of Photoshop does not matter of course.
    • Connected to the internet all the time (not 3G, WiFi only)
    • Bluetooth disabled.

    Now, let me explain the situation.

    The laptop is fully loaded with the original charger. Power management is set to Power Saver (image). Brightness is located in approximately 60% of the maximum according to the build in Windows 8 indicator.

    Applications that are open are Google Chrome (with 5 tot 15 tablets most of the time), Outlook, Dropbox and a metro apps (weather or the app store).

    As you can read, no intensive use. The CPU is stable between tot 5% 20% and the RAM is from 40% to 70%.

    but I have this problem and hope one of you can solve it. I have lenovo p500.
    He had run without giving me a single problem until today. It worked very well until 30 minutes ago, the entire frozen screen just about me - no problem.

    Welcome to the Forums.

    The hard drive seems to be bypassed, and the device starts directly to the network. You can try to:

    1. boot in the BIOS (press Fn + F2 on startup) and check if the hard drive getting detected on the information tab.

    2. If the HARD drive is detected, go to the Startup tab and make sure that it is the first start. If it still does not work, try to disable UEFI and press F10 to save and exit.

    We have 5 Edge E520. Three of them have died with exactly the same symptom during the warranty period, which is for me pretty much looks like a common problem. They have been repaired under warranty and I asked several times about one proactive solution for 2 others as long as they are under warranty - I never had no answer to that.

    Now, the 4th E520 died with exactly the same symptom.

    Is there a chance I get that fixed for free because of known issues?

    Sombody know what is the cause?

    Can I order parts to be replaced somewhere (I'm an electronic engineer - can I replace parts by myself)?

    I couldn't find any at all.

    So, this leaves very mixed feelings - especially because I wanted to fix the known issues in a proactive way. I don't know on the 5th of these E520 will display the same question so soon and I'll have to "recycle" this as well.

    Anyway, next books we buy for our company certainly will not fix a Lenovo logo. We usually use HP and these 5 were the first time that we tried to Lenovo for the service group... bad move.

I have Lenovo z500 with GT650m GPU 4 days years ago my cousin accidentally spilled her glass full of Milo on my laptop, fortunately I was able to remove the battery on time and everything dry up after that 24 hours he was already up and running again but I have a problem with the games I usually do listen on average FPS. Before the spill, I was playing Final Fantasy 14 with FPS on average around 45-60, once I start the game I felt the fan pick up speed, power and starts to heat up. After the spill, it seems that the dedicated GPU is not used I only get around 15-19 FPS on average.

    Sorry, but you need to take your laptop to a technician or a lenovo for detailed service center check.

    I don't think that anyone here can recommend an action plan to address your laptop after a spill of liquid. Milo can be sticky and may have formed a layer under the keyboard or if liquid has been spilled into the motherboard, it's a matter of time that the other components start to fail.

    I have a R40 2682KCU which is about 5 years old and he began to make occasional horrible noises, which I am sure is that fan because it seems to run more hot than usual. The fan still works and the vents are clear and wonder if I can replace the radiator fan or must it be done by Lenovo or authorized service center.

    1. download the ISO of UBCD

    2 burn the ISO with imgburn

    3. Insert the CD that you created in the faulty computer and restart

    4. upon restart, press and hold F12 and boot from the ODD/CD-DVD

    To burn the client software diagnosis on a flash drive, follow this guide.

    If you get any errors, you will need to contact lenovo for the service.

    Don't know if someone else have stumbled upon this problem, or know any quick fix for it. One of my desktop at work, an A60 - 8991 - 36G, is used as a testbed Vista64 and to get the most out of this system, we wanted to up the memory and got chips of memory 2 GB and installed... When running with the chips of memory 2 x 2 GB Gigabit network card stops working, run it with 1 x 2 GB or 1 x 2 + 1 x 1 GB and it will work perfectly.

    When running with 4 GB the BIOS of the system of reports / Vista64bit reports 4 GB and 3 GB. Installing the latest version of the bios (2NKT31A), and Vista works with the latest version of windows update fixes and all the drivers have been udpated.

    Lenovo/IBM has forgotten to upgrade their BIOS to support 64-bit addressing and memory allocations? Or the system simply is not 100% compatible with Vista 64-bit or 4 GB memory inserted?
