Lenovo Think Pad T520: Officejet 4500

Printer works fine when it is connected with a USB cable.  However, after a recent update of Windows 10 Wireless does not work.  I tried every fix, I can imagine, turn off everything, check settings on printer wireless (all are correct).  I followed the steps in the center of HP solutions, without success in the event of a problem.  I noticed that after the changes my computer is more in default to Adobe Reader as favorite PDF reader.  I had to go an manually change this setting.  I'm afraid that the update has changed something or the default value to a certain type of cloud of printing.  All the printer software are up to date.  All the computer software are up to date (which may be the problem).

As I said I can print via USB cable but want to print via a wireless connection.  Wireless connection works well on all other devices, the BlackBerry 2 and the other stuff.

Welcome to the HP community @kuznets,

I came across your post about your printer Officejet 4500 with some wireless printing problems after upgrade to Windows 10. I'll be happy to help you.

Try the following steps:

Cannot print after upgrading

After you upgrade your computer to Windows 10, are more able to print on the printer. Follow these steps to resolve the problem and then print again.

  • HP Officejet 4500: HP Officejet 4500 suddenly "not connected" and wants to "fax" while trying to print

After last version 10 of Windows set to update my HP Officejet 4500, which was working fine, now it is "not connected", says or wants to "fax"everything." Can not even uninstall printer to reinstall the drivers. Where should I start to fix this mess?

I managed to successfully uninstall printer with control panel and Device Manager. I then downloaded latest drivers from HP specifically say it's for Windows 10.     support.hp.com/gb-en/product/HP-Officejet-4500-All-in-One-Printer-Series---G5/3919445/model/3919446/drivers I installed and wonderful - printer working properly again. He does not think it is only a fax and print again normally computer. I think the drivers HP takes over again and did not allow 10 Windows run the show and confuse the printer and the computer more!

  • OfficeJet 4500: office jet 4500 pages come out blank

I have a hp Office Jet 4500.  Lately when I print only blank pages come out.  It is still ink in the black cartridge, so I cleaned it according to the instructions from hp (printer only in manual mode). I still get blank pages.  I guess I have to buy a new ink cartridge, because sometimes they dry out before they are empty, but now I'm not sure that's the problem.

This may seem a stupid question, (I don't know the correct names for parties), but is the bar with light, supposed to go under the glass when she prints?  I lifted the hood to see what was wrong and I noticed it wasn't moving, even if the light was on.  I never paid attention to the printer while it was working properly.  I would like to know whether to fix it before I have to waste money on an ink cartridge.  I know that the digital display informs you if there is a power outage, but it didn't.  Otherwise, the printer goes through its motions normally.

Hello @epona1 , welcome to the Forums of HP!

I read your post on how your Officejet 4500 is print is no longer with the ink to print outs. I want to help you!

The bar with light I think you describe looks like this mechanism to scan, which does not move when you make prints, so I don't see that the question. The question seems sound, as for me, would be the printhead to the printer. I say this because you have tried to change ink already and the pages are always feel empty, when normally change the cartridge would help and fix this type of problem.

Having said that, I suggest that try you this guide and try the steps it will list. It may possibly fix the problem of blank page for you. If not and the problem does not go away, call us directly to discuss your printing with HP options.

  • OfficeJet 4500 G510a

I downloaded the last software package on the site of HP for Windows 8 for the OfficeJet 4500. I ran the software and I can print successfully. However, the solution Center says that the installation was not complete. When I try to add a device, I am invited to connect the printer to the computer via a USB cable. I'm doing this, but the following button is never enabled. At this stage, I can only put an end to the installation via the Task Manager.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

By comparing the printer that you said that you have, the G510a does, it allows to print wireless, the software could not find the printer, I think I found the problem.

The G510a isn't a printer wireless, or Ethernet, it is only USB. The software that you use is correct if you install the G510a, but it will not be installed with the other printers of the series.

I would like to you, uninstall the installed printer software for the G510a. Once that is done, install using the Printer Wizard.

Printer Installation Wizard will locate your Officejet via its network connection, go online and download the correct software.

    I hope this works.

  • No drivers for OfficeJet 4500

HP reinstalled my OS, and there were a few changes, I had to fix.  One was the appearance of the XPS (?) printer as my default printer.  What?  I need to reinstall my HP OfficeJet 4500 as the default printer.  BUT, it is labeled as defective because it does not have a pilot.  Can't find one on the internet, and at the same time, I think I was told that there was no driver.  In the meantime, I can't print; cannot know how the XPS printer is managed and don't really care.

Here is the link for the driver, just select your operating system.

    Original title: Help!

I have a HP Officejet 4500. I can print online. However, I can't print from my PC. I get a pop up telling me that the printer is unable to print what I sent to her. I tried to go to printers & faxes, then properties, then settings, then to installable options. When I click on installation options, nothing happens. I tried putting the CD shipped with the printer into the computer, and follow his instructions. That did not help either. I want to be a geek. (I use that term in DEEP respect.) I think I could have understood what's not right. This is the first time I'm having a problem like this with any printer. Before that, I uninstalled another printer. 4500 print very also will be a long time that the other printer was installed. That's why I'm puzzled that 4500 will not work in my PC. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • HP OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z impossible to implement

    Hello

I use my HP Office Jet quite successfully for 2 years with no problems at all.  But this week, there were problems with my connection Internet does not properly.  Verizon has sent a repairman, and he said that I need a new modem/router, so it installed the newest model from Verizon Internet broadband.  I had no idea how much this was going to cause me trouble.

So far, I have used my wireless printer and realized I had to imput the new information for the wi - fi to connect properly.  Well, I have found no way to do it, unless I configured the printer since the beginning.

I uninstalled my printer, removed from my list of devices, shut down your computer, insert the installation disc in the DVD player, hooked up the printer using the USB cable, following the instructions on, then start the computer.

Nothing... My computer has never nothing hung

I called HP and bought a new cable, thinking that something must be a problem with the one I had.  Nothing...

My printer is turned on and physically connected to my computer, and it is not recognized for some reason any.  And until it is, I can't use it at all.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    Sandielynne

OK, I have my printer doesn't work, but it has been a nightmare on the whole trip.

I called Verizon (my ISP), and one of their tech support people showed me how to put in specific settings using the control panel directly on the front of the printer. In the original configuration, I didn't need to use it, but during the installation of the cartridges and others, so I had no prior knowledge to the configuration layout of the Wi - fi network. I do now. The printer stated that she was.

I could not the printer to communicate with my PC.

I downloaded the software directly from the Web site and installed, it did not find the connected printer.

I ran the Scan program & printer doctor, he finds my HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z printer AND a printer (HP OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z) network HP320B39.

The doctor downloaded and installed the software again, but only for the first printer HP Officejet 4500, not the printer 'network '. If the software installation was not involved, and I'm unable to use the software at all because of this.

Every time I tried to print, it seems cannot NOT COMMUNICATE

I used the Windows Help & Support and somehow I clicked on something good , and a window open showing each a wireless on my network device. ... .and among this list was the HPE20BE9 (HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z) I click with the right button on it and choose "INSTALL".

Then I went in devices and printers, and saw this same exact printer listed there, with HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z, so I chose this new 'weird' printer as my default printer. Then I chose a simple print document, a new window opens for me to choose which printer to print from, I made sure the printer HPE20BE9 has been selected, checked my preferences and said to print... AND HE DID!

I hope that I have never go through this nightmare of 6 days again. I am happy that I have persisited and has not abandoned because I was only a few seconds to screw up this printer, my patients to its full stop.  How I accidentally came across this list of "Network devices" I'll never know.   I tried since and now can not find once again, so if someone knows this information, I would be happy if I can write down it for future reference.  Without it, I still would not be able to print.

Have a great day and I appreciate everyone who tried to help me, but my situation apparently needs more information that I found here.

    Kind regards
    Sandielynne

  • Scanning problems on wireless HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z

I'm about to throw this printer/scanner at the door!  I love this scanner but since I had to buy a new computer

with windows 8, no driver disc to install my software disc, I can't seem to get a complete reinstallation of HP programs to install the Center and I don't dare hit the 'add a device' since I reinstalled the full installation software, my computer wants to continue to try to reinstall the application when well even it is already installed.   I uninstalled, cleaned and reinstalled and no still no solution Center.  HP also claims that there are no drivers for the center of solutions for windows 8.  Is this true?   My scanner is 1 year old.  Everything suggests to use the windows fax and scan.  Tried, how ever it stinks and it works not just for what I need it to do.  It is the second time I bought a HP scanner and a year later have problems with the application.  I think I've read all the blogs you have posted and tried all the links so far.  I know not what is missing... It is the center of solution and I can't seem to find a way to recover.  I have an ASUS with windows 8. Help, please!   If I have to buy another printer... I will never buy another HP product again.  Ink cartridges cost almost 60.00 it's half the price of the printer. Please help... Thank you very much for your time

  • OfficeJet 4500 g 510g - m: Officejet 4500 g 510g - m software for Mac

I need to know if there is software for the MAC computer.  Just bought the MAC and this is my first one so really unaware of things like that.  If someone can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it, of course!

    Thank you very much!

    Hi @CatLady5,

According to the document following the Officejet 4500 G510 is compatible with Mac 10.11, but there is no comprehensive software features and driver: Printers HP - OS X v10.11 v10.10 compatible printers.

I think that you will also find the FAQ section in the document above useful. There are useful links to help you install and use the printer with Mac 10.11. Here's an overview of what you'll find:

Install print driver Mac and the best available software using Apple Software Update.

Go to the installation of a printer driver Mac using Apple software update. This method of download includes the HP printer driver. Function of your printer, the download may also include the HP scanner software utility or driver fax HP.

What happens to my print driver, when I switch to El Capitan and Yosemite?

If you had the full features printing software installed on your Mac with the Mavericks, so everything should work the same as it did before you upgrade to El Capitan and Yosemite.

If you went to El Capitan and Yosemite for an operating system prior to the Mavericks, and there is not a complete driver of features available to El Capitan and Yosemite, how you print remains the same, but you may have to analyze in a different way. For more information on scanning without full functionality driver, go to How to scan without software HP in OS X v10.11 El Capitan and OS X v10.10 Yosemite.

What happens if my printer does not work as expected after the upgrade to El Capitan and Yosemite?

If your printer is affected by print, connection, or scanning problems or an error message is displayed after the upgrade to El Capitan or Yosemite, go to HP support page, enter your printer model, then search the document on printing, connection or the analysis of issues, or for the error message that appears.

Is there a driver package or third party for my printer software?

Gutenprint (formerly Gimp-Print) provides basic print drivers open source for many printers who otherwise would not be supported in Mac OS X. To see if your printer is supported, go to the Gutenprint drivers for more information.

NOTE: Gutenprint drivers don't are not supported by HP or Apple.

If it meets your needs, please click Accept button Solution below to identify your problem as solved!

If you need help, let me know and I'll happily at all that I can to help. Thank you.

  • HP Officejet 4500 G510n invisible computers on Wi - Fi

    Hello!

I use a printer Officejet 4500 for almost four years now without too many problems. Recently (i.e. in a few days), without making major updates on the PC in the netwrok, the printer itself (or even the router besides), communication between computers and the printer stopped working.

    The symptoms are:

    • the printer is connected to the Wi - Fi thw. When you print the results of test of network status, it shows the correct network. The IP address is also the same one that tells the router has assigned it to the printer (if the printer is visible to the router)
    • computers (a 8.1 for Windows PC and Mac OS 10.9) are also connected to the Wi - Fi connection (can go on the internet and are seen by the router)
    • the printer works when used with a USB cable
    • the printer, which has been set by default on the computer as a wireless printer, was shown as being disconnected (and therefore could not be printed to)
    • When you try to use the feature of "scan to" printer, he showed that there is no available destinations to send to
    • the printer does not appear if you choose to add a new printer for Windows or Mac

I think I tried every assistant and guide made available by HP, HP Print and Scan doctor who, after you have manually configured the printer using the IP address, tried to communicate with the printer and showed a "communication error". The following options change anything and try one more time brought no success.

Have you ever met a similar situation? What really bothers me is that both PC and the printer are connected to the router which sees both and * not * communicate!

Thanks in advance if you know a solution

Fixed: should define a static address of IP (manual) on the printer and the router. Works perfectly now (even if Windows will not now remove the 'old' printer...)

  • OfficeJet 4500: Frequent tricolor cartridge problem

I have an Officejet 4500 Wireless bought in autumn 2012.

I suffer from reports very frequently by the printer there is a problem with the Tricolor cartridge. This almost always happens when the printer is on first, well that occasionally it happens either, or the problem clears quickly without intervention. Even if the problem persists, I can of course make any impression.

Often, I can solve the problem by opening the door of the printer and, when cartridges have travelled over to the far right, either remove and replacing the Tricolor cartridge, or in case of failure by pushing so hard on the cartridge three colors that I fear the printer.

I think therefore that the problem is nothing more [sic] as the result of bad contact between the printed circuit board of the cartridge and the cradle of the printer which got him, but I can't be sure. I tried to gently wipe the printed circuit of the cartridge with a damp cloth and isopropyl article in case of dirt or fat are the cause, but nothing helped.

Has anyone else with an Officejet 4500 experienced this or a similar problem? Is there a known solution for this? Try a new cartridge would be likely to solve the problem?

When the printer goes it is great, but for now I wonder if I'll have to throw away so much that the problem is so frustrating. I need to be able to print when I want to.

    TIA!

Hi there @EastAnglianMan Welcome to the forums,

I read in your post on cartridge errors three colors that you have noticed on your Officejet 4500 Wireless printer. Even if you have noticed that you have tried the majority of troubleshooting, I would say by browsing the troubleshooting guide that is targeted for this specific issue ensure that all steps have been tried. As for trying a new ink cartridge, that would be your personal choice if you want to buy and try to install a new one. A new cartridge may or may not solve the problem completely.

"Incorrect print cartridge" or "Print cartridge problem" Message appears on the computer

If troubleshooting doesn't help not solve your problem, then I would say call HP Technical Support to see other possibilities for you, as a business. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions: click here.

Have a great day, thanks for posting in the community!

  • OfficeJet 4500 driver will not download to Windows 8 - "Download".

Try to download the full Officejet 4500 Wireless download to a new PC 64 bit of Windows 8.1.  When download reaches 100 MB exactly, it stops: "download interrupted."  Click on 'summary' and downlaod again and 'interrupts' to 100 MB.  Tried with antivirus on and outside, on and outside printer.

Thanks for your help, but I already got it to install using the Installation Wizard under "diagnostics and utilities" (or something like that) listed below the option 'download now '.  It worked perfectly (all 300-some MB) and worked as one would expect in (in other words, just like the installation from a CD that comes with a new printer).  HP really needs this option "front and Center" rather than downloading raw - I mean, who's going to think to go to the section "diagnostics and utilities; most of the people go just to see "start downloading now", click that and feel frustrated as I did. I have found that the wizard by chance, frustration.  I think most of the users are like me, they want a quick, easy and fool-proof to get the printer to work.  We are not in the manipulation of files or refreshing / re-installation of operating systems.  Keep it simple for us, the Luddites.

  • HP Officejet 4500: Hard drives of the printer?

Is a question, a hard drive in the Officejet 4500 which is used for the analyses and copies?  If there is, how you to clean?

I don't think there is a hard drive on your machine, but if there was, there would be an option to wipe it in the webserver integrated under the Security tab.
