OfficeJet 4500: Frequent tricolor cartridge problem

I have an Officejet 4500 Wireless bought in autumn 2012.

I suffer from reports very frequently by the printer there is a problem with the Tricolor cartridge. This almost always happens when the printer is on first, well that occasionally it happens either, or the problem clears quickly without intervention. Even if the problem persists, I can of course make any impression.

Often, I can solve the problem by opening the door of the printer and, when cartridges have travelled over to the far right, either remove and replacing the Tricolor cartridge, or in case of failure by pushing so hard on the cartridge three colors that I fear the printer.

I think therefore that the problem is nothing more [sic] as the result of bad contact between the printed circuit board of the cartridge and the cradle of the printer which got him, but I can't be sure. I tried to gently wipe the printed circuit of the cartridge with a damp cloth and isopropyl article in case of dirt or fat are the cause, but nothing helped.

Has anyone else with an Officejet 4500 experienced this or a similar problem? Is there a known solution for this? Try a new cartridge would be likely to solve the problem?

When the printer goes it is great, but for now I wonder if I'll have to throw away so much that the problem is so frustrating. I need to be able to print when I want to.

TIA!

Hi there @EastAnglianMan Welcome to the forums,

I read in your post on cartridge errors three colors that you have noticed on your Officejet 4500 Wireless printer. Even if you have noticed that you have tried the majority of troubleshooting, I would say by browsing the troubleshooting guide that is targeted for this specific issue ensure that all steps have been tried. As for trying a new ink cartridge, that would be your personal choice if you want to buy and try to install a new one. A new cartridge may or may not solve the problem completely.

"Incorrect print cartridge" or "Print cartridge problem" Message appears on the computer

If troubleshooting doesn't help not solve your problem, then I would say call HP Technical Support to see other possibilities for you, as a business. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions: click here.

Have a great day, thanks for posting in the community!

  • Officejet Pro 8620:8620 cartridge problem

Recently, I ran downstairs on the yellow cartridge and replace it with 951XL. This was the first replacement of cartridge for my printer. I have a cartridge problem error that I couold not clear. I assumed it was a faulty cartridge and had the intention to return to Costco. I put the old cartridge back and the problem of the cartridge continues. I turned off the printer, waited, placed all the cartridges, but unsuccessfully this error compensation. I cleaned the connector from the cartridge with a Q-Tip and no luck. Any suggestions?

Follow-up... I worked with the HP chat support team. After running through the standard troubleeshooting we finally understood the correct remedy. I deleted and reinstalled the printerhead (fairly simple) Assembly and that reset everything amok. Printer works fine now.

  • HP Officejet 4500 wireless connect installation problem

    Hi @scifijunky73

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that you are having problems with one of the instant ink cartridges you have.

My recommendation is to contact HP customer care on 0207 660 0596 (indicating your call is on the program of instant ink) Monday - Friday 08:30-18:00 (except holidays). It is best that you contact team of instant ink for your cartridge problem.

  • HP Officejet 4500 cartridge alert

I have a printer HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z, running under Windows 7 64-bit. The printer has been giving me alerts of my being of bundles or tricolor cartridge incorrectly installed (even if it is a cartridge HP Officejet 901 three colors and a new cartridge).  I get the cartridge out, put back in and do an alignment and the alignment is done. When I go to print something, it will always need to print with a color little or not at all, or go back to the same problem alert cartridge. About 3 months ago, I put in an Officejet HP 901XL black ink cartridge and the cartridges worked very well together until I had to change the Tricolor cartridge. That's when my problems started. Must both cartridges be the same?

I read the answer.  Some people use 'print' and 'copy' interchangeably and in the same sentence.  It's ok, but I just wanted to confirm what was going on.  I thought that I understand you, but I wanted to make sure.

I agree with you that we are probably at the end of our troubleshooting options.  You have been through all the troubleshooting steps and reset.  The Print doctor failed.  The only suggestion would be to do a reset full semi if you want to give that a try.

If successful, this reset the default printer and clear the memory.  If the printer was on a wireless network, it should be removed and would need to be reconnected.  If you want to try this, I can send you the steps in a private message to your Forums HP box.  I need you agree to not post the stages.  Let me know what you decide.

  • Printing problems HP Officejet 4500 and warranty issues

    Help!

I have problems with a HP Officejet 4500 that I bought last January.  He stopped working at the end of December, but I had to get out of town for Christmas and have not reported in time.  It is not my main printer, so I didn't start working to try to make it work until today.

It will start printing, but stops after a few lines, the screen indicates that it is out of ink.  Sometimes he says that the black ink is low, sometimes the tri-color, sometimes both.  After I have the OK button it will print another line or two until it stops and says it's out of ink.  What it prints, it's kind of uneven and blotchy.  Sometimes it falls a letter of a Word.

When I run a report it wybody help best cut down the lines.  For example, if the line is different sizes of the 'Aa' letter, it will only print the top of the letter.  He will also skip lines.

I cleaned the cartridges, I aligned the cartridges (that I did when I put these new cartridges), and I'm at the end of my mind!

Can someone help me or am I just bad luck?

    Thank you!

I would like to look at this document here. It will give one the troubleshooting steps to try to resolve the problem you are having with a quality of printer output. Among the measures here are ones you mentioned by train, but there are others in the document which are available and which were not included in the above post. If you reach the end of the document, and the question is still involved, would seek the replacement of the product.

If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.

  • Scanning problems on wireless HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z

I'm about to throw this printer/scanner at the door!  I love this scanner but since I had to buy a new computer

with windows 8, no driver disc to install my software disc, I can't seem to get a complete reinstallation of HP programs to install the Center and I don't dare hit the 'add a device' since I reinstalled the full installation software, my computer wants to continue to try to reinstall the application when well even it is already installed.   I uninstalled, cleaned and reinstalled and no still no solution Center.  HP also claims that there are no drivers for the center of solutions for windows 8.  Is this true?   My scanner is 1 year old.  Everything suggests to use the windows fax and scan.  Tried, how ever it stinks and it works not just for what I need it to do.  It is the second time I bought a HP scanner and a year later have problems with the application.  I think I've read all the blogs you have posted and tried all the links so far.  I know not what is missing... It is the center of solution and I can't seem to find a way to recover.  I have an ASUS with windows 8. Help, please!   If I have to buy another printer... I will never buy another HP product again.  Ink cartridges cost almost 60.00 it's half the price of the printer. Please help... Thank you very much for your time

  • HP Officejet 4500 desktop: problem of scan for hardware

    Hello.

I'm having a problem with the Scanner on my device. It worked fine for years until recently. When I run a scan, the scan bar sounds like it is moved to about, as if she was facing too much friction on his way. The resulting quality of the scan is too rough. Here is an example:

I tried to reset and even reinstalling the driver, but it seems to be a hardware problem. My device is already passed it is guaranteed and I am entirely willing to open if necessary, because I have knowledge in electronics. What can we do?

    Hi @XtheHunter,

Welcome to the HP forums! Is a great way to engage, ask questions and find resolutions by working with specialists from the community of HP. I saw the post and understand that there are problems of scanning with the printer. I'll be more than happy to help you here.

First of all, you have diagnosed the problem perfectly that the scan feature does not work. Great job on this point. Kudos to you. It is always a privilege to work with customers technically very. I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you. We value your relationship with HP and want to better serve you.

First of all, it looks like a hardware problem with the printer. We will isolate the problem correctly.

Please make some copies directly from the printer without any communication to the computer.

Place the copy face down on the flat and press the copy button. If the copy is fine, then the question might be software related.

If there are problems with copy, then try to copy again with a set of different cartridges to further isolate the issue. They copy very well if we could solve the problems for software related issues.

I'll send you the steps to perform a semi full reset as a private message. Please look for the messages also. Sometimes it is useful to correct the situation.

If it does not correctly copy, then the printer must be repaired by contacting the HP support by phone. Link: http://hp.com/contacthp

Please try to copy from the charger bed and document scanner to further isolate the issue.

If the problem is with the document feeder, then you can still use the scanner flat and vice versa to work around the problem.

I will send you the links of service manuals for the printer that could be useful.

I hope this helps. I would like to know how this happens. I really hope that the problem is solved without hassle and the unit works very well. Please reach out for questions and I'll be there for you help.

  • OfficeJet 6310 tricolor cartridge (93/95) stops working after replacing the cartridge of black and white (92)

OfficeJet 6310.  Brand new problem.  This morning my 92 black (right) went dry and as soon as I replaced it the printer said my tricolor is bad.  With the 95 the printer now shows "left cartridge needs to be replaced" and with the 93 the printer now shows "cartridge not intended for this printer."  There is no point at all.  Restarting, cleaning the contacts and heads, nothing seems to work. The cartridges are HP OEM fresh out of the blister, no refills.  I used the 93 both cartridges lights 95 alongside 92 black for a few years.  Foreigners have infected my printer.  Anyone have any ideas?  Someone two days ago posted basically the same problem with their so 5740 printer.
