    Update to my post here.

The problem is with the 6.0.5849.23 Version, the current version of the Lenovo site is 6.0.5802.24 which works fine.

Leave the tools ThinkVantage update itself causes the problem on my m/c at least.

Always open to suggestions that I like to keep my uptodate system, apart from the BIOS that is!

  • ThinkVantage Toolbox download

    Hey guys,.

I am very attached to the ThinkVantage Toolbox, Thinkpads were up to some time ago.

I really like the software and this is one software that always install when I clean install Windows on my ThinkPad.

Recently I discovered this old version of the installer had me update the Toolbox after you install. I tried to download the new version of the Toolbox (with a redesigned user interface), but did not find the right Installer for the new version.

Does anyone know where I could download it yet, or what someone has setup for later versions of Lenovo Toolbox? the latest version should be 6.0.5849.23, but I don't like as long as it is a newer version with a redesigned user interface.

I am aware that they are no longer supported by Lenovo, and I do not know that they are replaced by the solution Center. But I still want the box tools in particular. I want to find and maintain the latest installer for the Toolkit, so that I could always have the latest version, even if Lenovo cut their server update in a future later.

    Thanks in advance!

If you want to keep the ThinkVantage Toolbox, you should not update as it will be replaced by the Solution Center. The only way to get it is back to find in your backup disk in the partitions. Or else you'll download through 3rd party host as I do not think that the ThinkVantage Toolbox is available on the servers.

  • X120e-Thinkvantage Toolbox displays wrong product id

Hi everyone, this is going to be a bit long, so thank you in advance for your patient. :-)

The boot loop (explained in a previous post) my problem was solved by changing the motherboard. I'm happy to have my operational x120e.

Now, I have a very annoying problem. After receiving the laptop, I immediately put to update the latest bios firmware.

Later I discovered that after I installed the new mobo to the center support they did not update the type of product, a serial number of the machine in the BIOS. So the thinkvantage Toolbox displayed an incorrect product id: qqqq2ru. As you can imagine that the system cannot be automatically updated because there is no product with this identification number.

After hours of searching on Google I found a copy of the disk of hardware maintenance (v1.78, please don't ask me how I did it) and I managed to update the BIOS with the right product and SN. I thought, oh, what a relief to e. This until the computer is restarted. The Toolbox now shows the correct SN but the same incorrect product id: qqqq2ru

I thought that maybe I should reinstall the system to factory default. Done, but the result is the same. My product in the Toolbox TV id is on qqqq2RU, although in the bios, I see the correct model, in my case 05962RU.

Can anyone shed light on what could be the problem?

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    OK, I solved this.

Aparently, the cause of the problem was Flash new bios without the first writing of the info in the BIOS (Serial Number, type of product, etc.)

I have downgraded the bios with an old version and deleted the product type. Voila. ThinkVantage Toolbox recognized my product id, etc. of SN. After that, I updated the bios with the latest version and now everything is fine.

Hope this will help someone with the same problem in the future.

    Thanks for reading.

  • Protection against viruses with ThinkVantage Toolbox

Recently I had to change antivirus software as a change in University policy. Now, we use Microsoft Security Essentials. However to change antivirus software our computers are still showing the old anti-virus software in the box to ThinkVantage tools--> network--> Virus protection security.

Instead of the ThinkVantage tool box to uninstall and reinstall, there should be a beneficial way to address this problem. Otherwise, users will continue to receive the red X in the Toolbox and the icon on the lower screen.

Will there be an update ThinkVantage Toolbox to fix this? We are also users XP and planned not to migrate quickly our laptops soon.

    Hello
This situation is due to the fact, that directly when you installed ThinkVantage Toolbox it combines all the inside info.
Now, what you face are the correct behavior of this application.
Here's how you can let this go away:
    -uninstall the Toolbox
s ' ensure that it is removed also in %ProgramFiles% %, registry and %programfiles%\Common files
    -* reboot the machine.
    -Install the Toolbox back

The main readon is that metadata is always in the stored registry, you must delete it, so that the information will be reloaded.

    Hi all

The saga of the X 301 re-instal OS continues :-)

Everything works apparently like the top of a tower of base, but the lap top after the reinstall does not contain its specific software IBM/Lenovo.

    Examples:

    1. blue button Thinkvantage does not

2 connection is made only through Windows and not the IBM network connection

    3. carpet works but the scroll page to the top and overall features was lost

    4. sometimes when typing the cursor off the coast it pulls the bottom of the page

I have nothing on the system (hardware), stating that it requires a driver.

    Any help or assistance appreciated.

  • Error 25014 trying to install Lenovo Thinkvantage Rescue and Recovery! Help, please!

Hello! Recently, I have restored my laptop with a general copy of Windows 7 pro 64-bit. I had to redo all the drivers and software (of course). I had installed Rescue and Recovery before but never used. I tried to reinstall it today and he throws back each time with the same error message (error code 25014 = 6)! I had installed linux but deleted and installed Windows again. I also have a 21 not used same GB partition (I have no idea how to combine). Any advice on how to work will appreciate it! Thanks for your help in advance!

RC 25014 = 6 error is error install boot RNR Manager.

    Provide information:

    (1) your machine ship of Lenovo, with Lenovo factory system? If Yes, what operating system has been installed? Vista, windows 7 home, pro etc? This would install with 3 partitions: system_drv, Lenovo recovery, (C).

    (2) you say: I recently restored my laptop with a general copy of Windows 7 pro 64-bit

Not that this means that you do not have a Lenovo factory restore, but actually installed a commercial version of win7 pro?

I'll assume win7 pro retail for now.

    (3) you say: I had installed Rescue and Recovery before but never used.

It was in the past, lets say on a shipped factory system Lenovo?

    (4) you declare: had installed linux but deleted and installed Windows again. I also have a not used 21 same GB partition

    ===

It seems to me, your HARD drive had a top system.  I see Ubuntu mentioned in your other posts. Your HARD drive had several parttions, including the 21 GB partition. Then, you have decided to install a retail version of windows 7 pro.

During a sale at retail of windows installation, you must pay attention as to where it will install.

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-Windows-7-a.html

    Note steps 7 and 8.

It seems that you did the windows installation disk HARD existing, with the pre-existing partitions.

    ===

    RC = 6

The simple answer is THAT NRR is already installed.  Did you uninstall RNR before installation?

    The answer is complex:

During the installation of RBR went to add its boot manager entries, BCD (startup control data), he did NOT like the content of the BCD, IE other entries parked in the BCD, ie, Linux. He expects to have 2 slots used in BCD, windows, and windows RE.

    ===

Reflect this. See if it fits your situation.

    ==

I would erase the HARD disk via a standalone utility, then install win 7 pro retail and all issues should dissipate.

This erase/delete can be done during the installation of windows.  refer to steps 7 and 8 above.

  • Lenovo system Toolbox breaks down

Whenever I try to use the application on my T61p it ceases to work, saying that the computer running too many items for the diagnosis information system - even if nothing else is used! Restart the diagnosis/computer (depending on the sreen tips) has no effect. Or don't uninstall and re - download system tool. Ideas - I'm no expert so I'm probably missing something quite obvious.

    Hello

Been a while since the problem with the system of Toolbox. Never sort so I've just forgotten about it. A week ago

My GPU is dead. Was back yesterday with the new Board of Directors system of the machine and, hey presto, Toolbox system works very well.

Don't know if it has been reloaded from the Service: I would have supposed it's hard disk where everything seems intact. If it was a fault with the motherboard, the origin of the problem and then fixing it is a considerable task!

  • ThinkVantage blue button does not work

Anyone know why my blue button may have stopped working?  T61p, recently installed Win7 64.  Is is updated system and everything was fine.  It was with my W500 too, but my volume buttons and mute works more then, considering they are all operating on the T61p.  Remember uninstalling/reinstalling Power Manager & pilot on the newer machine to the difficulty, but makes no difference on this one.  Blue button still good to interrupt the boot.  Anyone have any idea...?

The ThinkVantage button has been used by Lenovo Thinkvantage Toolbox, but this tool has been removed.

T6 *- and his 'brothers' can use it with the ThinkVantage Productivity Center

  • Toolbox and maximize Battery

I just installed the new Lenovo Thinkvantage Toolbox on my T42p.  He advised install Power Manager.  I started installation and he says that maximize battery would have eliminated before installation can continue.  I said OK and nothing happened.  I tried several times with the same results.  Maximize battery does not appear in the Add/Remove software list.

The error in the Toolbox continues to say that my battery status cannot be determined without Power Manager installed.

How can I delete maximize Battery and install Power Manager?

    Hi fcampbel,

On the lenovo Web page he implied that:-"The Thinkpad software of installation provides the Installation/Uninstallation Wizard for this package." [i.e. maximize dough]

If above does not help, take a look at this:- http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T61-and-prior-T-series-ThinkPad/Upgrade-Battery-Maximizer/m-p/6861

  • Why are there two drivers for my printer in Device Manager?

Product: HP Photosmart Premium C410 all-in-One printer

I had several cases where I had to reinstall the printer software. Several times in the course of the last few months, without reason, that I can attribute it to when I try to print, I get an error message that the printer software is not installed.  I followed the instructions carefully for the resettlement of the printer and the printer as HP installation wizard, I downloaded. After deleting the printer in the menu devices and printers and reinstall the printer, I find myself with 2 copies of the Photosmart driver Prem C410 series.  Even if the printer seems to work ok, the Lenovo Thinkvantage Toolbox keeps giving an error that the printer driver is disabled and asks me if I want to activate.  When I check the drivers in Device Manager. Two copies say they work normally and all information is the same that is to say: driver date, version, details, etc...

I disable or remove a driver but that we have no idea.

It's windows, the Device Manager, that means some how windows think you had two different instances of the same printer, this could be due to the installation of several trying, or have you had the unit repaired or replaced? or maybe you changed the connection method (usb/wifi/LAN)? I simply remove these instances and then uninstall the drivers (if they still appear in uninstall) and then download and install the driver full hp.

  • T61p + Windows 7 64 bits + Intel AMT/drivers.

    Hi all

I recently installed Windows 7 x 64 on my T61p (6459-CTO). I installed the drivers and all devices and market very well except two:

    1. PCI serial port
    2. PCI Simple Communications controller

After a failure to find drivers for these, I googled the question and found that it is most likely associated with Intel AMT. So I tried Windows 7 for Intel AMT drivers for my laptop but I do not see everything.

I have installed and run Lenovo System Update v4 and it doesn't have picked it up while the Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox Diagnotics warn that the drivers are missing for 2 devices. However, it is not too show where to find.

There seems to be a lot of posts for the same problem for the models T400/T500 but nothing for the T61p.

    Any help would be appreciated!

I have experienced the same problem and here is my resolution for my t61p running windows 7 x 64:

Download the 2 AMT/drivers on driver lenovo site:

Local administration service and Serial Over LAN (Intel AMT 2.6)
    Windows Vista, XP

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67881

Management engine interface (Intel AMT 2.6)
    Windows Vista, XP

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67880

Let the files extract to their files (using the downloaded exe files) (C:\drivers\win\amt and \amtsol)

for the PCI Serial Port, indicate the Assistant to update driver to watch in c:\drivers\win\amtsol

for the controller PCI of communication Simple say that it resembles the c:\drivers\win\amt

He must find the missing drivers for you.

  • Windows 7 driver for a Simple PCI controller

I installed upgrading Lenovo Windows 7 Professional on my R400 (7443-CTO) of Windows XP Professional.  Watch ThinkVantage tools several times I need a driver for the controller of the PCI 'Simple '.  I could not find this driver on the Lenovo support site.  Any assistance to help solve this problem would be appreciated.

No problem and glad you found it useful.

When you say that you do not see a shortcut for the Lenovo Toolbox under "All programs" I assume you mean in "All programs" in the Windows startmenu? Normally after installation of Toolbox Lenovo should be an icon under "all programs-> Thinkvantage". You do not have a Thinkvantage folder under "all programs"? If Yes and you want this shortcut somewhere else you can copy the shortcut where you want by using the standard Windows features. If you do not have a shortcut for Lenovo Thinkvantage Toolbox at all you can create an and point in the file "C:\Program Files\PC-Doctor\pcdlauncher.exe". (assuming that you are using English Windows or it could be "Program Files" in another language). Don't know what you need help here. Do you need help and some tips how to add shortcuts to the startmenu in Windows?

Regarding the dialog box where there will be PC-Doctor change your computers, which is the feature (UAC) Windows user access control or that given by the Lenovo Toolbox dialog? If UAC, I believe that the only solution would be to accept this dialog box or lower settings or turn off UAC, but which would also reduce the security on your computer.
