Lenovo (Windows 8.1) Extended Battery settings lack of life tile

After having upgraded to Windows 8.1 X 1 carbon, I noticed in the settings app Lenovo power settings include is no longer the option of extended battery life (50% instead of 100% load). I read on this forum that longer life of the battery may be obtained, particularly when using the computer laptop while that connected to the a/c adapter by storing about half of its power. So why the option of longer battery life is missing from the application of the parameters of Lenovo?

Tim

The option of 50% (called health battery Mode) is excluded from Lenovo settings.

If you want to know the reason why, please read here: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X1-Carbon-quot-Plugged-in-not-charging-quot/m-...

    Hello

I just bought a X 1 with the extended battery slice. It would seem that Power Manager recognizes that the extended battery is available, however Windows always seems to restart the machine as soon as the main battery dies before the battery slice can launch.

Y at - it a setting to save the battery slice power at the same time as the main battery, so I can stop my machine to close unnecessary Windows?

    See you soon,.

Just after this display, I contacted Lenovo support via the IBM portal (big headaches btw if you wish to contact support but without Campeau them upward), and they ended up sending me a new battery.

The battery arrived the next day, so a great victory for them on that and so far it seems to have corrected the problem. So, if you also have the same problem, ask for a new battery of slice.

  • Keyboard not working on Lenovo Windows laptop and stuck on the login screen

I have a Lenovo WIndows 8 20157 laptop, the keyboard no longer works someday so I restored it.  At that time, I could use an external keyboard.  When the system rebooted, it got to the login screen and will not work.  The screen keyboard and the external keyboard does not work.  The only thing that happens when I use a keyboard (external to the screen, laptop), is that if I hit the button S power options developed.  I can not connect and I can't run it in safe mode.  Already, I have removed the battery and held down the power button, which has not changed anything.

I took it for someone who told me to restore to factory settings and there are drop down menu in the corner of the login screen, but sometimes the mouse works and sometimes it isn't.  For example at the moment I can't open easy access menu to open the keyboard screen, but sometimes I can't.  Any ideas?

    Hi Jennifer,.

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

According to the request, you have problems with the keyboard on your Lenovo laptop.

As you have made a number of steps to address this issue including restoration to factory settings, I feel that this could be a hardware problem, so at this point in time that it would be better you contact Lenovo for additional troubleshooting support.

  • Impossible to use the extended battery T420 extension

It is quite disconcerting to have the laptop stop and be empty when the battery life indicator said there is more than 6 hours of life left.

My T420 has a senior 55 + and 27 ++ long battery life.  If the main battery is used to power, when the main battery reaches 0%, it will fail to pass the long battery life and die.  It's not only to stop, it will stop.  Windows don't like this.  If the computer is using the extended battery for power, it can switch successfully to the main battery when the battery reaches 0%.

There seems to be no way 'approved' to force the first laptop using the extended battery.  I got this laptop a few weeks, but in my experimentation, the laptop uses preferably the battery with the lowest percentage of all.

For normal use, long battery life load profile I programmed to stop at 95%, this will get the laptop started on right stack when the two are connected, but not help if I'm out and on the use of the main battery and want to extend by adding the long battery life.

The only method I found to force the laptop to use the battery when the main battery is low-capacity must simply remove the main battery.  Of course, to do this, I have to either stop the laptop or the put it hibernates in.  Then, remove the main battery and attach the long battery life.  Reboot the laptop.  So far, I have no problems with this method. The laptop is perfectly happy with just 27 ++ battery attached.  But if I'm going to pass the batteries, I might as well have an extra 55 ++ lying around and waive the 27 ++.

Would be nice if Lenovo could provide instructions or a software patch that would allow me to tell the laptop to use preferentially the extended battery as soon as it is available.

The way the system is designed, it's that you won't always unload the 2nd battery first, not the main battery. If this is not the case, check the switch on the 2nd battery. Make sure it is in the position "on / green.

    Hello @EsbachW ,

To get your question more exposure I suggest you post in the trade forums since it is a commercial product. You can do to commercial Forums.

Even if it is a Commercial product, here is a link to to test the battery.

Plug the power supply directly to a wall outlet works. Do not connect it a power strip, surge arrester, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.

    Thank you.

  • Lenovo windows not visible (Fn + F5/flight/Bright)

Hello all, new to the Forum and you are looking for help with my Ideapad S10

I can't say for how long, but lately Ive noticed that Lenovo Windows that display notifications of changes do not come to the top.

I press Fn + F5 to wireless, to toggle the WiFi or newly added settings BT, but no window, no more than the wireless status change (stays on) - I can only toggle the setting by pressing the physical WiFi key at the top of the keyboard.

It goes the same for volume settings and the settings of brightness of screen using Fn + arrow keys, although the values change.

Normally, I wouldn't care on this issue, but I do not know the hard - key for WiFi wil I would turn the BT settings, once I installed the card.

I have not changed anything (that I know of) other than the windows of bubbles notifications in the start bar (via RegEdit) and I doubt that this would have an effect on a program of Lenovo.

I went through MsConfig as well, ensuring that all programs begin at the beginning, but no change it no more.

I saw there is a difficulty to other buffers of Lenovo hotkey, but I'm not sure it will solve the problem or just add.

  • Is it possible to get a backdoor without the extended battery?

My battery door became very weak and creaky because I do so many battery pulls. I have the long battery life, and it seems the only way to get a new one, is to buy another battery. My back door just stays on. Also, are there any plans on commercialization of skins for the external battery? This would make the phone feel more solid and protect the bezel of the scratches.
