  So finally, I tried to connect my laptop to a 2560 x 1080 widescreen-resolution-display via HDMI in an electronics store:

  You want to update the pc RAM. Like today, the RAM consist only of 4 GB and the RAM always reaches 80% usage.

  I can give an overview on the use of the RAM. Honestly, the idea that you can run Windows on 2 GB is no longer the case. 64-bit Windows use more memory, but it allows more memory to add. I am currently using 5.7 GB of RAM with only a few open apps.

  4 GB is the minimum these days. For the game, I would recommend a minimum of 8, but if you can afford it, it's certainly worth spending to 16 GB for scalability.

• Lenovo Y700 15-ISK upgrade problems

  First of all, new to the site and I read up on my question here, nothing is no working solutions or are not unforuntely, but here's my problem.

  I recently bought the Y700 and bought a Samsung 850 EVO m2 250 GB drive (model M5E250BW) and installed inside the laptop. I tried to see would appear in the bios and it has done and thought "oh great, this will be easey, ' but unfortunately it won't be visible in the Disk Manager or Device Manager. So, I am unable to initiaize or format the drive in particular.

  I called samsung (if it's under bios their product works), windows (if one hard drive shows up then it produces works) and lenovo indicates that they exhasted possibilities for support and they have no idea... so I am at a loss.

  I'm about to go back to the computer and the new drive and just say screw it at this point, so I hope someone can help me.

  * New * lenovo supervisor, I had to press for saying something on the fashion legacy or something of this nature as a hint (UEFI evolution or inheritance etc), but refused to tell me more. No idea if this gives ideas.

  Ultimately I had to change the legacy UEFI in the BIOS (I changed one parameter) and then it took about 10 minutes for the machine to start up to... that had me thinking it was bricked, but I could finally see my drive EVO M.2 850.

  Once the disk manager has been opened, he asked if I wanted to be defined as a GPT or MBR and I chose TPG. The disk formatted and then used Reflect in full boot disk mirroring. Shut down the system and removed the original HARD disk and started the BIOS and changed in the UEFI. Settings saved and started again, but it took awhile to load again.

  Everything seemed in order, and I was hoping that she was just to "adjust" the new drive and after I stopped him again to do the test, boom... Pulled up to crazy fast and it seems to work like a champ. Ordered a 1 to 7200 RPM HGST drive expensive and who now use it as a Media Player (keeping the disk of 1 TB 5400 RPM as a back up in the case where it goes haywire at a time given).

  If you have the warranty and it is the failed hard drive, lenovo should replace it for free.

  I bought a new Notebook from Toshiba A200 Satellite and a 500 GB Maxtor One Touch 4 500 GB hard drive.
  The end of the USB cable to the HARD drive does not match one of the ports on the Toshiba.

  Can I get an adapter, or try to find a rope?
  HARD drive uses USB 1.1, 2.0 or Firewire port.

  Sorry, but I don't believe that.
  The Satellite A200 supports USB 2.0 ports Commons and it should be possible to connect a normal USB cable to the laptop!

  Are you sure you are using the right cable to 100%?

  I upgraded my Lenovo Y400 Windows 8.1, and I noticed that there are 8 partitions on disk 0. Is this normal?

  Otherwise, what partition I could merge/delete/resize without sacrificing the functionality of One (OKR) key recovery?

  I made a big mistake by opening my HP Pavilion 15-n255sb (it is a generation sold here in Belgium) without knowing exactly how to go about this and so in the process I broke the cable to HARD drive and ripped from the flat cable end of the power button.

  Yes I know, guaranteed went out the window with this stupid, stupid, but I'm sure I can get the machine and it is back to work because it is a very nice to work with machine...

  So what I need is to know where to find these 2 cables, prefably here in Belgium or elsewhere in Europe, if everything fails for the rest of the world...

  Someone who can help me?

  Please note page 20 article 9 for the hard disk hardware repair kit. and page 24, section 14 to power connector.  I don't know if the power connector includes the cable, so I suggest to contact a provider of HP for more details.  Here is a link to the HP parts store. It is currently set at the United States. To change the country, click the little flag in the bottom left corner and select the place in the list for you.

  If the power connector does not provide cable, you could try a local computer store or repair shop.

  So far everything is fine, but as soon as I tried to order them, I ran into a wall (brick). HP themselves do not seem to be able or willing to provide them, their partners (preferred) are pretty useless too! If I go to HP USA I can find two pieces, put them in my shoppingcard but of course I'm back down to HP Europe (Belgium to be precise) and ther everything goes cold...

  Someone at - it suggestions how to get these 2 simple parts? It becomes very stupid and I'm angry...

• Lenovo G500 with SSD and HDD in ODD Bay

  So I have a laptop Lenovo G500 aged for 1 year with a processor i5 to 3230M, now an 8 GB (originally, it was 4 GB) of RAM and a 1 TB HARD drive. I recently bought a 250 GB Samsung SSD 840 Evo and a disk HARD caddy from here: http://hddcaddy.com/en/lenovo-ibm-hdd-caddy/646-lenovo-g500-hdd-caddy.html

  So I removed the HARD drive, put the SSD in its place, removed the STRANGE and put the HARD drive in its place. It was all nice and comforting, but that in some points the HARD drive was not seen by the system as if it was disconnected or something. This happens usually when the laptop was running, if I rebooted everything worked. I remember that in the past, I don't know, maybe in the last 4 months, I used my ODD twice and neither time was it works well.

  So my question is: can it be that my ODD SATA port is faulty, or does this problem occur because this whole switch-and-swap operation is not supported by my laptop? If this is the first I can replace this SATA port?

  Thanks for the reply. I just did an update of the bios, so far everything seems to work well, it still took some time (a few hours) unitill the problem occurred.

  If the problem persists I'll try the fix from microsoft that you sent, but with the 2nd solution, there is the problem that I need to reboot the system to get the bios, but so far after a reboot my laptop has always recognized the HARD drive.

• Satellite L665D - No POST after LCD cable Strip

  I have a Satellite L655d S5550 and a few months ago, it has no video after a break caused by the process of closing LCD I've ever done.

  After her, I try:

  None of this works, the computer displays leds and its hard drive, cooler works normally but still no video.

  I think that there is a hardware problem but from my point of few Interior/LCD display isn t the troublemaker.

  The point is that even if the internal screen would be defective, the laptop must turn on correctly and in an external monitor, it should be possible to use the laptop.

  For me, it seems that the motherboard or card mother as GPU (graphics processing unit) could be faulty.
  This malfunction is a worse because the replacement of the motherboard is a very expensive procedure and I think that it s not worth to fix it in case the warranty isn't valid more.
