Libretto U100 - an alternatives more missing and Caps Lock light

Have the U100 beep a warning when you accidentally click on the SHIFT key is convenient (see my 31.8.05 post), but a beautiful new step is to load a bit of freeware called cAPSlOCKhASSER. He sits quietly in the system tray, but if you press NumLock shift, he flashes a warning and immediately turns distributed lock.

I found it on the site Web of Easy2Sink, my favorite file sync software email. You can download it from http://www.easy2sync.de/en/download/. I now have a shortcut to cAPSlOCKhASSER.exe in your startup folder so it starts at startup.

Either way, if you want to disable the caps lock http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t14629.html total offers a reg file sloppy to disable the caps lock and another to restore it. They worked fine when I tried to get out them, but turn off the caps lock is too drastic for me and cAPSlOCKhASSER suits me better.

  • Libretto U100 - best Alternative for lack of Caps Lock Led

If you use Windows XP, search the Internet for the file keystate.zip. It creates an icon in the systray with simulated led which goes red when the caps lock is on and black when the caps lock are out of service.

There is a Toshiba program even better if you operate under Windows 98 SE: toshled9.exe. It is basically the same as keystate.zip but it has a much clearer and more simulated led. In addition, toshled9.exe has 4 more market icons that you might find useful. Unfortunately, toshled9.exe does not work in Windows XP.

  • Satellite C660 - keyboard does not work but the Num and caps lock shift are on

I have a Satellite C660 which was working fine this morning. When I came home from work and he turned, the keyboard does not work and therefore can not enter my login information.
The Num and caps lock shift are turned on.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Hello

You are able to disable the CapsLock and NumLock?
You can access the BIOS by pressing F2 by turning on the device?

If this does not work, I would recommend checking an external USB keyboard.
If the USB keyboard would be functions, then this means that the internal keyboard is defective and must be replaced.

  • Num Lock and Caps Lock flashes twice

Hi, I have a problem with a laptop HP DV4-2045dx who is now 5 days out of warranty.

He has decided to no longer start, and never shows anything on the screen.  When turned on, the power light, fan and light volume bar upwards and after about 10 seconds, the plugs and caps lock Num lock light flashing 2 x and make a break before repeating many times.

I tried to remove the HDD, memory, reinstalling NIC. I have made the power off the power, remove the battery and holding the button works / stop 20 seconds without change. I also removed the CMOS battery for 30 minutes.  I left the laptop on it during the night with no luck he restore the bios, I also left unplugged without battery for several hours.

HPs site tells me that the BIOS is damaged, based on the lights flash.

So how you fix a corrupted bios when the laptop does not start? Should it be sent repair, and whether someone has an estimate for this repair?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    * EDIT * I know that the HARD drive is bad, the laptop stopped booting (it would be only goto repair windows and my HARD drive diagnostic tool there not this day.  After a few other boot attempts from this start white screen)

It finally sets the strangest way... removed from the memory and jumped into a 512MB stick older... booted up.  Shut donw and put the 2x2gb sticks in and functioning again.

Running memtest now to see if it was bad or not.  If not... its waiting just for a recovery by post media.

  • HP Compaq Presario CQ62 blank display, solid caps lock light light orange, solid f12

    Good afternoon

Currently, I'm stumped on troubleshooting lights error code for a hp compaq cq62 customers. I tried the hard reset, the reinstallation of the memory and even plug the laptop directly into the wall instead of a surge protector with battery removed. I can't find any solution on the HP site or any other site of forum for this issue as to what a solid caps lock light and a solid orange light on the f12 key.

Currently I think the customer may need a new back light system or a new processor. Before to come to this conclusion, I hope that there is a clear solution for my problem. Thank you for any assistance.

    Hello @NotURt3kSupport ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand you are having problems starting your PC clients laptop Compaq CQ62.

A single glance on the caps lock light usually means it is a failure of the CPU and requires a replacement of CPU or the motherboard.

Also try to go through these documents to resolve startup problems:

Computer does not start and the lights blink or the computer will beep.
Troubleshooting of the black screens with no start-up or start-up error message.
Tests of hardware failures (Windows 7, Vista) or hardware failures (Windows 8).

You can tell if the backlight is the issue or start by plugging in a VGA monitor to see if the screen is displayed or not. If this is the case, you have on the laptop display problems. If it isn't, you're dealing with a problem of CPU, GPU or motherboard.

  • Libretto U100: an alternative to caps lock

Several people including me have already validated ways to disable the Caps Lock key on the booklet. But I recently discovered "CapsUnlock" and I think it's the best so far. If like me, you always tend to press Caps Lock shift by mistake, I think it's the definitive answer. Here is the link: http://www.brainsystems.com/capsunlock/.

As a bonus, you can choose to disable the "Ins" key (This isn't a problem on the U100 because you get Ins of Fn - Del, but, as a user of the "elected", I find it useful on other laptops).

The website says: ' CapsUnlock replaces the CapsLock key locking mechanism and prevents so turn it on accidental of CapsLock.

It works like a small status bar application in the taskbar. The user can select a replacement option, which allows to CapsLock be turned on and off by holding down the SHIFT key left while pressing CapsLock. In addition, CapsUnlock also disables the INSERT key. »

    Thank you for visiting @omidmiri.

Here on the Forums of HP's Support, you have access to many members of the community with solutions and suggestions to help. I understand that you have a problem with a black screen and the Caps Lock LED flashes after a BIOS update.

The led near the caps lock shift keys and numlock blinks if a fault is detected during the boot process. The LEDs flash multiple times in a sequence and then stops.

Please try to manually perform a BIOS recovery, as follows:

    1. Turn off the computer.

    2. Plug the laptop using the power adapter.

    3. When the computer is always off:

      1. Press on and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time and then press in and hold the power button on the laptop for a second.

      2. Release the power button and the keys.

By following these steps, the BIOS will reach the EFI partition in order to recover the BIOS to the latest known version of the BIOS from the hard drive.

  • Laptop starts sometimes, but most of the time I get the flashing single LED SHIFT NUMLOCK and caps lock.

    Presario CQ61-411WM

    OS is Windows 7

Most of the time the laptop does not start upward and I get the only witness flashing Caps Lock and Num Loc.  However, if I'm persistent and keep trying the Start button it will start.  After that it starts everything works fine.  I can even do a reboot and it will stop and start up.  But if I make a stop so I have to press the start several times (it will come back with the only witness flashing Caps Lock and Num Loc) before it will start again.

    Any suggestions?

  • White screen on Boot and CAPS lock and NUM lock LED blinking on HP Pavilion dv - 6 portable 1210sa

    Hello

I'm on HP Pavilion dv6 - 1210sa laptop with Windows vista Home Premium (service Pack2). It's the operating system, which is that the laptop came with when I bought in 2010 and later service pack 2 was installed using windows update. I can confirm that my laptop is up-to-date with updates of windows and hp installed periodically. My problem is the following:

Everytime I turn on my laptop, I can hear the noise from the cooling fan and the led power and feather touch volume buttons and a wi - fi light up. However, the screen remains blank and the CAPS lock and NUM lock Dungeon LED flashing with three second gap between two flashes. They Flash together and blink only once in a single cycle. It keeps flashing even after leaving it for 10 minutes. I have to perform the hard reset several times before I can get it started. This problem started a few months ago with the frequency of the problem more and more. It has now reached a point where I encounter this problem on every start and even after the awakening of the laptop computer from standby or hibernation.

I know that the flashing of the LEDs is typical diagnoses, but I was unable to understand the real problem. I know the screen works because I tested using an external monitor to work. It should not be the battery (even if it's crap to maintain charge) I tried to restart the laptop with just AC adapter connected (and battery removed) after having done a hard reset and still, the situation did not improve.

Could someone please tell me what is the problem and what are my options? Think you that formatting my c: / and re - install the OS will solve the problem?

    Thank you.

    Please come back to me

As long as you keep your files backed up on the outside, it is to you how you want to proceed. First question, however, is you are in warranty or not? If you are in warranty, Yes, call telephone support and will take care to have it sent repair.

If you are no longer in warranty, however, that the repair can be expensive. You could certainly call for an exact quote, but according to the availability of the room, it might be around $200 and for an out of warranty repair. Money would probably be much more effective if they are presented to a new computer.

    HP Total Care 1-800-474-6836

BUT, if you're still able to get the it to power (after trying it several times) and you're OK with the disadvantage, it would be nice to hold off on buying a new computer until it failed completely. I hate this word like that but I want to be realistic with you. I'm sorry that you are having this problem. As I said though, your files are the priority. Keep all your documents and photos and other precious files saved on an external hard drive or flash drive. Let me know if you have any other questions

  • Laptop is not starting and CAPS LOCK flashing.

    Hello.

I use a laptop HP Pavilion 1125sw g6. The laptop is around the age of 5 months and 2 days ago something strange happened. Let me start from the beginning; I changed the graphic properties of a game and when I pressed 'Make changes', the screen went blank, but the computer still worked. So I turned off (until the battery) and started again, and he went as far as my wallpaper and I have been able to view my wallpaper and all for a minute about and then deleted again screen. I tried to use HP advanced diagnostic tools that arise only when you start, but even with that the screen went white.

The next day, that the laptop has no start, fans were still whirring, but not the BIOS screen came. The CAPS LOCK button flashes at intervals of two, the wireless button is orange, and that's all. Its been like that since. Any suggestions? Please, I beg you! T

    Thanks in advance.
