  I started to get this two small server running Server 2012 Foundation R2, they work well for almost a year into two separate companies. All of the sudden they both started to get this error. The server are Fujitsu, both running the OEM of ROK Fujitsu version are authorized and registered with microsoft. They work together in a 'working group' envioment and both have 9/10 users (Foundation supports 15 users) that I've seen so much after that, but neither gives an answer before stright as to what is the problem and how to fix it? a moment to give a shared other printer installed DNS, I checked both and both work very well. The two server is the only server on the network and is configured as a tourist server but are not used as such users share only 1 or 2 folders and print nothing else is used. Any pointer appsiated.

  Hi, I found out recently that I was managing fault of the vm windows server licenses.  So im trying to get a better understanding of things

  To give an example, I have a project for a client entry, it is a small project of vmware

  The plan is to have 2 physical server running vmware eseentials more.

  They will need 4 2012 Windows server Vm and Windows 2008 32-bit Vm 2

  I want to be able to vmotion servers if you need from one to the other, so I will need licenses windows on both servers.

  So I figure I will need 3 Standard Windows 2012 per physical server so 6 total licenses

  Windows 2012 Standard license gives you the ability to have 2 vm.  When I go down one of the licenses for 2008 server, im assuming im may 2 2008 Vm for a license, is - that correct?

  Or he return to the old 2008 license where you where only allowed 1 2008 vm by standard license?

  I installed on a host (System Dell R810) vSphere with 24 physical cores with hyper-threading. If I install a Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition/64-bit, on the physical hardware, I see 48 processors.

  I would like to convert this system into a system in a virtualized with vSphere environment. Assuming that I buy enough licenses VMWare, which is the maximum number of VMWare virtual cores I can refer to various OS comments? Also, if I have the Windows Standard edition, which is the maximum. number of virtualized hearts would be the guest operating system, see?

  Also, is there a document describing how licensing works and how things refers to a VMWare deployment.

  Here is a short breakdown in licensing requirements.

  ESXi free-4 core support only.

  Software licenses with hearts of six (6) by restriction of processor: vSphere Essentials, vSphere Essentials Plus, vSphere Standard and vSphere Enterprise

  Twelve software licenses (12) cores per CPU restriction: vSphere Advanced and vSphere Enterprise Plus

  Microsoft licenses - depends on the day: o)

  Windows Standard - for each license, you get a single virtual machine.

  Windows Enterprise - for each license, you can run 4xVM

  Windows Datacenter - you register each Jack in the box (like VMware) - run as VM of this family of products that you can (IE, Windows 2008, Datacenter Edition allows all x Windows 2008 flavours).  I'm not positive is a Windows 2008 R2 allows to downgrade to Windows 2008 flavors as well.  So I guess.

  My recommendation - pony up the money and get data center and then laugh if Microsoft comes audit because you don't care.

  SQL 2008 licensing - read carefully - it changes and is confusing.  Best to call the Microsoft license program to be positive.

  Limitations of VMware – you can create within a VM CPU 8. However if you need that many cores... rethink its acceptability of virtualization.  See #5, and then read it again.

  Now, just throw in the standard practices and answering the questions I know you will come back and ask.

  #1-non, it has no USB support in a virtual machine.  You can't attach an external drive to your VM.  Look at the IP/USB devices for the solutions for this.

  #2-Si you create a larger hardware RAID array then 2 TB it won't work.  Each virtual disk/LUN/table/Container (to use the terminology whaever) needs to be more boy then 2 TB-512bytes (use 1.99 TB to be sure). RDM, also, cannot be greater then 2 TB.  In addition, I recommend to use initiator ISCI inside the virtual machine.

  #3-la recommendation is to try to stay in the range of 10-20 VMS per VMFS volume (much busy VM can cause scsi reservation issues).  He got much better then you can push the limits (wait for RParkers response when he sees it: o))

  #4-you can create multiple VMFS volumes and join them together to make a larger VMFS volume.  Strongly discouraged

  practical #5-bonnes of virtualization - forget what you know about the allocation of resources.  Start a Windows 2008 VM with 1 GB/Max 2 GB of RAM and a single processor.  ONLY increase CPU/RAM after you have determined you must.  Least CPU multiple VM's best for planning

  average #6-sursouscription is usually 4-5 WHAT VM by heart, but of course it depends on the load and SMP VM

  #7-do not ask solution best backup (of the beginning of war) - your typical responses are going to be Veeam, Vizioncore, esXpress as 3 all with scripts and a few others mentioned (like VDR).  Try them all (this way you can get backups and not pay for at least 90 days: o))

  #8-don't freak out cause of your VM Windows 2008 allows you to use all of the memory of your host immediately.  Until you use all of the memory, the virtual machine will be uuse large pages (which is good for performance).  Once that oversubscribe you too far, they will all move to 4 k pages, and your memory usage will drop dramatically.  After that, when the memory is the most... you are done... not go further: o)

  There are literally hundreds, but if getting vmware these tips here sticky would be we would have probably two times fewer threads and a much higher quality content.  Of course, #3, #6 and #7 will probably provoke a debate already.  I apologize in advance.

  Can I confirm with expert from Microsoft, it's windows foundation server 2012 may not be the first domain controller (which means that the first AD in the forest)? It must be attached to the root of the forest as a domain controller.   We are currently in place a complete infrastructure of App-V 4.6 SP2 in our Organization, and we have all applications stored in a SMB file server. We have two App - V Management servers related to a balancerto load. In addition, we have configured the ApplicationSourceRoot registry key in the machines of Client pointing to the SMB file server. The flow of applications successfully from the SMB file server. So far everything was fine.

  However, when we try to implement the licensing options we see that App - V licenses work with RTSP protocols. In addition, we tried all the best we can, but we could not implement RTSP streaming from a SMB file server.  Protocol of RTSP protocol leader changes: / / with the use of the ApplicationSourceRoot registry key.

  Can anyone suggest a work around for this problem, where we can implement App - V license with the spreading of the SMB file?

  Help! I have a pair of window Server 2008 R2 and a pair of window Server R2 2012, who are the synchronization of time to one destination.

  After that time synchronization is successful, the window Server 2008 R2 clocks are still 1 second faster than those in the 2012 window servers.

  Is there anyone who got the same problem as me?

• Add Server 2012 R2 Server Manager servers dialog box problem

  I have a problem in 2012 R2 Server when you add a remote server to all server management interface.   Using the dialog box add servers to add a workgroup server (no configured DNS server), I added the problem of server using the IP address.  A dialog box appears that says "can't resolve host would you like to add it anyway?  For awhile do this, I clicked 'No', but finally clicked on Yes and the server by its server name has been added.

  However, I can not access this server remotely, make sure that it is in the list of approved first hosts.  I have the correct IP addresses and have firewall advances for troubleshooting I can connect on the server locally with an administrator account.

  Removing the server from the remote management console, and then add that it does not solve the problem as server name solves always in the dialog add a server with the credentials apparently wrong.  It is the only server of four that I made this mistake, the other three work great after choosing 'Yes' to add the server non - solve anyway.

  My question is, how do I clear the credentials of server 'broken' out of the 'Add Server' dialog box to the server properly.  The added server is another Server R2 2012.  I changed server names and addresses IP, but the dialog box always detects the server with the new information and still not will not properly add it to Manager remotely.

  And the idea of how to do to erase the old credentials?

• Application built with an OPC Server

  I build the application on the development using wich S7 computer - connected to the OPC Server 1200
  and I want to build the application to run the VI on another PC without installing labview, however when I finished to build the application with the installer and install the application on another PC it cannot connect to shared variables so I installed an opc Server ON this machine and add the server to the software mutual FUND that contains tags and variables
  but it is not also connect to the opc Server
  So how do you run the application on another PC with an opc Server!
  How the VI to use a specific opc server on this PC with no labview?

  What do you call the OPC Server? You are creating a mutual FUND of LabVIEW client and linking to the shared variable? If this is the case while you use the LabVIEW DSC module and it works very well in the development environment.

  the alternative would be to use the socket api in LabVIEW to call the server.the attached VI OR OPC illustrates how.

• Network with Windows Home Server hard drive. With the new files that wouldn't be no automatic update.

  Installed Windows Home Server 2011 on my files allocatted to share on my wireless network, including a hard drive 2 TB external. Worked well able to watch movies, listen to music etc... As several files have been saved on the external hard drive (800G now) he would not recognize the new content (files or movies) previous content is ok, but nothing new would not reconise. Unplug the hard drive from the PC, pluged into the TV via USB and all the files are there, old and new. My PC is 3.2 GHz 1 G RAM and running Windows XP I was wondering if anyone know what would cause this? It would not be because I only have 1 g of ram?
