Didn t drive recovery does not happen with the laptop because you had an option to create one using the preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator.

You now have this disc which can be ordered here:

Boot from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen.

  • Problems copying bookmarks from old Hard Drive to new hard drive

The motherboard on my old Windows Vista 64 - bit is dead. The hard drive is still accessible. I bought a new PC with Windows 7 and installed Firefox. I find the.default file for Firefox on the old drive hard and copied and pasted in my new profile on my new hard drive. The old hard drive is connected to my new PC with an external hard drive enclosure. I tried looking for in my old profile user Firefox hard disk of old. I do this by clicking on my old username, go to Program Files (x 86) and only one program file that I found for DNA. Firefox has been installed on my old PC, so I'm surprised that I can't find what it listed under Program Files (x 86) on this drive. If I search the old drive for 'signet', it evokes my bookmarksbackup and other files of bookmarks '.json '. I tired bookmarksbackup copy for my new Firefox profile on the new hard drive and it seems to work, but the old bookmarks do not appear when I open Firefox. I looked at the links troubleshooting for the same problem that others have posted, but they seem irrelevant, because I can't find the sqlite or the directory where my old Firefox settings are stored on my old hard drive. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Firefox settings are not stored in program files, but they are stored under APPDATA.

If you take the newer JSON file you have, open Firefox, press Control, Shift and B at the same time, then go to "Import and backup" then 'restore', then choose file, you can import it like this?

  • Problem with new HARD drive and Qosmio Player installation

    Hi all
I hope someone can help, I had my Qosmio for 2 1/2 years now and recently had a problem with the hard drive. I decided to replace the hard drive, because it was the fastest solution. The problem I have now is that I can't receive TV on media center. I tried to install qosmio player at the disk to see if it made any difference, but when I run the provided recovery disc software tells me that there is not enough disk space! The laptop came with a 60G hard drive and the new HARD drive manufactured by the same manufacturer is a 150 GB, can someone help me out with this would be appreciated.

    Thank you
    ED.

Have you tried to install Qosmioplayer initially, then on operating system? If I remember well, on this first portable Qosmio, it was very important to install Qosmioplayer initially.

  • Problems of formatting of the new hard drive in Macbook Pro

    Hello

My internal hard drive in my MacBook Pro mid 2012 broke down. So I installed a new hard drive a ST1000LM014 of Seagate 1 TB hybrid discs which according to IFIXIT.com must be compatible.

I then boot the server Apple Macbook and party in disk Utillity to format the hard drive. The hard drive is visible and I'm then in the partition, choose the 1 partition, Mac OS X (journaled) + GUID. But while the partition that I get the error message failed to file system format.

I tried different options in disk Utillity and I am able to format the disk using FAT or ExFat. But it does not help me to use my mac hard drive.

Does anyone have any ideas on what to do? And it does not seem like a problem with the functionality of the hard drive?

    Thank you

  • New hard drive, installed Windows XP PRO version 2002 - resolution screen and internet problems

My Dell has had some problems (patially due to age), so a buddy of mine and I put a new hard drive in it and then installed windows XP Pro.  Installation went great, but now that it's installed, I can not get the screen resoultion to change and I can't connect to the internet.  I feel like with the internet, can I have a driver problem.  I know that the internet works, I'm on it with the laptop right now.  Any suggestions?

????  I'm not sure I understand your question. You download the drivers to a place, you will find them, as the office. If you want to put them on a USB stick, copy the files downloaded to the key and take it to the computer target. Copy the files on the computer desktop. Double-click on a file and it will unpack the installation routine starts. Follow the installation wizard. Reset when said to repeat as needed until all the drivers, etc are installed. Subsequently, you can delete the downloaded files from Dell (from installation .exe). MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • HDD problem IBM Thinkpad T42. I can't install NEW Hard Drive and NEW OEM Windows XP?

    Hi all

When I turn on the notebook Windows XP starts up and everything is loaded. But after 5 or 10 minutes, the response is very slow. If I click on any window and try to open any folder, or open internet explore it takes about 1 or 2 minutes to respond. I tried several ways to scan disk and Defrag, but still that are of no use. I also tried 'Difficulty automatically File System Errors' and ' will search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors ", but this problem is still there. Even when I stop it takes too long to stop about 15 to 20 minutes.

When I turn on again NEXT DAY Windows XP starts and everything loads quickly. After 5 or 10 minutes, the response is very slow. This problem occurs for a few days.

I then used "IBM Rescue and Restore" to load fresh operating system. Still the problem does not get fixed.

Can you get it someone please let me know if this is problem of hard disk or something else. I'm guessing it's related to the hard drive.

If it is the drive hard problem how to save (clone) of this old hard drive AGAIN DISK (after buying) HARD.

If I buy the NEW HARD DRIVE and CD/DVD of NEW OPERATING SYSTEM OEM VERSION it will work? Do existing mother board ALLOW to load a NEW VERSION of OS OEM?

    Thank you

Contact the manufacturer of your computer, IBM and ask them to send a recovery disk/s XP set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

  • Windows 7 OEM license, cloned the new hard drive.

I'm scratching my head on this one.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro with an OEM license.

Beyond December, my original hard drive started failing so I made a clone of Clonezilla and transferred to a new hard drive.  Since then, I have not been able to run Windows update and I regularly get a Windows is not real popup.  I checked the section properties and my computer Windows Activation of Windows is enabled.  I tried the site of verification but that sends me to a web page that does not seem to load correctly and 9/10 times.  When I managed to load and I downloaded the WindowsActivationUpdate tool, it gives me just a Setup 0xC8000247 error.  I tried returning my SLUI 3 product key and everything went through fine.  I checked various websites and people say that it must be good using a new hard drive, others say you can't and others are calling saying Microsoft and speak to someone.

Can I use my OEM license when transferring to a new hard drive?  Answer, what would be the next step?

Yes, you can use the same OEM license, because it's the same computer.

What you need to do is probably performing a new installation. Clone software tends not to provide the best results.

The old hard drive still works? You might try one last time to create a system image and restore it on the new hard drive:

How to pass Windows 7 to a bigger hard drive - books...

This of course would mean reinstall the old hard drive, create a system image and then restore it on the hard drive.

Another option is to perform a new installation using the OEM key.

Step 1: Download a copy of Windows 7:

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

Step 2: Perform a custom installation, see Windows 7 section of the following article how to perform a custom installation:

How to: perform a customized Windows installation

    Step 3:

    Hi Mike,.

Thanks for posting the request in Microsoft Community Forums.

    1. have you recently replaced the hard drive? Do you have any other hard drive already present on the computer?

    2. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    3. what installation media you are using during the installation? Is it through DVD or USB?

This problem normally occurs when you have a problem with the installation media you are using. You can try to have a different installation media and try to install the operating system. Also, make sure that you have not connected external devices other than the mouse keyboard and multimedia installation.
