Lion running on a Mac Pro; LR4 PS5.1 PS6b - change default LR

Once I installed the beta version of Photoshop 6, Lightroon 4 I cannot edit in Photoshop 5.  Photoshop 6 is the default and I can't figure out how to change that.

Of course, I can uninstall the beta version and the default expected to return to the other installed version.  But there must be a preference file or something similar in support of the application which is the path of Photoshop Lightroom.

All I want to do is change it.

Can anyone help?

Thank you

I don't know the best way to do so; However, I've found a workaround (station_one: do you really trying your proposed solution?).

A solution that works is to set up Photoshop 5.5 as an external editor.  It may not be the most effective solution. but it works

I run on a Mac CS6.  I need to change the operating system and would like to know if I can still install the software.  I upgraded to OS X 7 (Lion) for OS X 10 (Coyote), but my devices would not work.  I'm changing to OS X 7 (Lion), but this will eliminate my entire hard drive.  My CS6 software install?  I bought CS5 and CS6 improved.  I don't want to go on the CCif I don't have to.  Thank you!!!

as long as you have your serial numbers and installation cs6 files, you should be ok.

  • Y at - it a remote that runs on a Mac Pro?

Greetings. Our music lab has received three new Mac Pro (the coffee cartridge style) among all models.

Very nice, but the power button is exceptionally hard to find, especially when you end plug all devices. Since more than myself will be turn on the units, I ask the question:

y at - it a (physical) remote control that actually turns the unit, as opposed to those (including Apple) which are simply negotiating media utilities and others.

    Any comment is appreciated.

    Kind regards

    DLC

There is no way to remotely turn on.

You can use the Scheduler in energy saver to turn on the Mac at a specified time.

You can also just have Mac Power Nap/sleep (Energy Saver) and then just wake up the Mac with the keyboard or mouse when you want to use.

  • Lightroom CC 2015.3 running on a Mac Pro 12 hearts computer

running OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 with 64 GB RAM and fast raid.    This machine works really slow with Lightroom now.  The speed is magnitudes of order slower than it used to be under the previous version of the OS and Lightroom.  It's almost unusable, especially when I'm sorting and video selection.    All the ideas it might be or ideas to try?

Of course, also please increase the size of the video Cache once.

  • GB c. ' 08 on Mac Pro running

I have an early 2008 Mac Pro 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon and see my favorite program of Garageband of iLife ' 08 launch is no longer here.

I bought the latest version 6.0.5 or Garageband v 11 - it doesn't matter - and tried out.  It was hate at first sight, and I called Apple to request a refund - they did.  Now I use GB ' 08 on my PM G4 and duty to make the file and transfer it to the Intel machine to use in my video projects.  The downside is that I don't have to change it as well and must go back to the G4 - although both are running on the screens side by side, so not so hard.

What I'd like to do, is to find a way to emulate the 08. c on the Mac Pro.  Is it humanly possible to work around the problem?  Without being a genius of writing code?  Maybe some 3rd party software to download?

Insofar as the new version of Garageband, I was put off by the dark interface for beginners.  He seemed to be oriented to customer of techo/rock/hiphop, as I use it more for soundtracks of video production and appreciates the clarity of the old program, as well as my ability to work easily with curls with it.

What version of Mac OS X you are running on your Mac Pro?  If you are under Snow leopard, Rosetta environment (if you have it installed with Snow leopard) must be capable of emulating the PowerPC code, so you should be able to install and run GarageBand ' 08.  With Lion or later Rosetta is no longer available.

  • Mac Pro - Adding third monitor

    Hi all

I currently have these two monitors running from my Mac Pro (early 2009 model), both outputs standards, including the mini display port:

    Acer P223W (1680 x 1050, input VGA)

    AOC 2250W (1920 x 1080, D - SUB and VGA inputs)

    I recently inherited this monitor:

    SONY SDM-E96D (1280 x 1024, DVI - D and HD15 inputs)

What is the way more economic (and simplest) to get a Setup three monitor?

I use it for music production with logic X, games etc. Third monitor will not be used a lot, so don't want to spend more than necessary.

Thanks in advance, all very appreciated recommendations.

  • Mac Pro - Clarification of Lion

    Hi Todd,

I wanted to clarify some issues of Lion. Currently, I have a new Mac Pro for delivery that comes with pre-installed Lion. There's no other choice at this point. Snow Leopard is not available as an option. Knowing that there are some problems with the current CS-5 suite because it was developed before Lion I was going to take off from the Lion and get back to Snow Leopard. I checked with our Mac dealer and he had this to say:

"all new Apple BTO (Build To Order) computers come with pre-installed Lion and there is no way to Snow Leopard put it back." It has something to do with the firmware.

So if I have to stay with Lion, I'd sure be using CS - 5.5 production suite? I know there are a lot of benefits of CS - 5.5.1, but I think that the question of the pipette will be too big of a deal is not to work. What would you recommend at this stage of the game. If it's true that the new Mac towers are limited only to run Lion because of a firmware limitation, we need to understand what we do here. I also thought of a secondary boot drive, but that won't help if it's really a problem of firmware.

Someone at - it any information on that?

    Thank you

    Ray

The pipettes are occurring effects such as color correction effects and the effects of Chromakey - and I do this work in After Effects, first not Pro. So, I do not see the bug of the pipette as affecting my personal work.

Even if you don't have a Lion, I recommend using the first Pro CS5.5 (5.5.1), because there are a lot of issues fixed in this update, and they greatly outweigh the bug of the pipette.

  • updated my mac pro early 2011 book now really running hot

I wanted from the upgrade of my mac book pro early 2011 I7 quad core 8 G ram 2T HDD

So I finally did. I like it, but now my mac runs hot 116 degrees. the fans are running.

boot time has also more he takes more time.

I used my mac pro for dj book I also do a video mixer.

run final cut pro x no problem

I also do recording on a DAW. never had any problems so far.

I understand is difficult to test on all models is a solution for this.

I thought he was going to improve performance, I don't see it seems to take more time during startup.

How about this circle just turn around.

I know that you guys try.

I hope hear from you soon.

    Thank you

Run programs of type DJ on an Early 2011 MacBook Pro, while also on El Capitan put quite a strain on the machine. Programs of DJ using just the music will pull a use much more memory and CPU than normal, not to mention video mixing as well. That being said, you use a USB jack in a box/audio mixer (like SL3 or Pioneer DJM900) or you use a DJ controller?

I do not think that 116 degrees is too abnormally warm for the type of stress you put on the machine. I would possibly consider a SSD drive. Not only will improve performance, but because you will have parts in SSD, as you would in a standard hard drive, the machine should run cooler.

  • I run a Mac Pro with El Capitan and iMovie 11 will not recognize my camcorder Sony FDR-AX35P 4 K

I run a Mac Pro with El Capitan. iMovie 11 will not recognize my camcorder Sony FDR-AX45P 4 K. He keeps asking connect a camera.

iMovie 11 (version 9) supported cameras include not all models Sony FDR.  iMovie 10 supports a number of FDR-AXxx models however does not list your a see particular: iMovie support cameras - Apple Support

There are a number of problems of running iMovie 11 under El Capitan, particularly with still pictures appears.  (It does not supports video 4K).  I recommend try iMovie 10.1.2 which you should be able to get in for free or may already have in your applications folder.  Although your camera model in particular is still not listed, I would expect it would probably work, and failing that you should be able to read files directly from the SD card if you put in an SD card reader.
