  • Detect the Touch vs Non touch devices...

    Hello again,

    Is there a way to touch detection and non touchscreen devices from the code?

    I need to provide a different set of cod file based on the customer's device.  If the device is touchscreen allows then the user must download the appropriate with a capacity touch cod file.

    Thanks in advance for your prompt response.

    In your application, you can determine if the device is a touch or a non touch device with the following code:

    public static boolean isTouchDevice() {
        return new Canvas() { protected void paint(Graphics graphics) { }}.hasPointerEvents();
    }

    Use these imports:

    import javax.microedition.lcdui.Canvas;
    import javax.microedition.lcdui.Graphics;

    This code will work also on older devices.

  • My ad hoc network is not seen by non-Windows devices?

    Hello:

    I'm running Windows 7 pro 64-bit.

    I have an ad-hoc network, running where I take a wired connection and share it via WiFi.

    The problem I have is my devices not Windows cannot see the network. Apple, Android, etc., do NOT see the SSID - only Windows boxes. How is what happens. In the network and sharing on other Windows devices Center, the icon for the ad hoc network is also a different icon than other WiFi networks in the region.

    Is an ad hoc network, a network of true 802.11? Can I share with other devices other than Windows? Why my other devices cannot see the SSID (only Windows boxes can)?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello Chris,

    I found this another instance of a question similar to yours:
    It seems that the problem lies in him depends on the ability of the devices to connect to an AD - HOC network as they may differ from a standard Wi - Fi routers connection.
    You may need to check that your Apple devices and Android phones are able to connect to this type of connection.
  • ListField does not scroll in the storm

    Hello

    I use the simulator of the storm.

    I have a ListField inside a VerticalFieldManager in a VERTICAL_SCROLL and VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR style.

    I can move the list down with keyboard arrows down or the field list does not scroll to the top, but when I try to use the key (right key) in the Simulator.

    Looks like I'm missing something, please help.

    Thank you

    Thanks for the help.  But I thought about it.  Missed me the call to the call of super.touchEvent (event)...  So now, I handle the case else if is not a click, then I call the return super.touchEvent (event);

  • A project which supports the devices to screen both touch and non touch screen.

    Our team works at the request of BB, which is oriented to a wide range of supported devices. It should support devices with OS version 4.2 - 5.0. We decided to use the v4.2 OS APIs. Then our application would be supported by all devices. It was a successful until recent times. Problems arose when we started to use navigationMovement() function to handle events of movement. This function works very well on devices with a trackball and it does not work on touch screens. On touchscreens, we should replace touchEvent() function.

    When we added touchEvent function to our project, then the project could not be started on devices with OS< v4.7="" (error="" starting="" application:="" class="" 'net.rim.device.api.ui.touchevent'="" not="" found).="" so="" i="" think="" we="" should="" split="" our="" project="" in="" two="" branches:="" the="" first="" will="" support ="" touch="" screens="" and="" the="" second="" one="" will="" not.="" there="" will="" be="" two="" shortcomings="" in="" this="">

    1. we must ensure on corrections in the two projects. It can happen that one branch has been updated and the other is not observed (has been forgotten for example).

    2 instead of this a binary, we will have two binary. But it is easier to have a binary that works on all desired platforms.

    So please give me an advice how should we update our project to make it work on touch and non-touch screen devices.

    Software development we use: JDE 4.2 and 4.7 JDE.

    you could build a library for the base classes 4.7 project and use the dynamicy for them class (class.forname) loading. or use the preprocessor, but then you would still have 2 versions

  • Non-existent devices USB not recognized

    We get the message that USB device not recognized on several machines (Dell Optiplex 980) with XP and the same type of machines with Windows 7. The only USB devices that are attached to the machine are the keyboard and the mouse and the two are identified by the system and are working properly. Mention all the answers that I can find for similar questions about errors for non-existent devices. Can anyone help? Thank you

    No card reader. I submitted this to Dell as the system is a Dell Optiplex 980 and they said that the problem may be with the motherboard that needs to be reset. I tried to unplug the PC from the wall, but that has not solved the problem. They sent a technician with a new motherboard. That did not help. When downloading all the drivers I could find, I noticed that the monitor was turning and all by itself. Also noticed that we had a USB2 cable connection of the monitor to the computer to activate the USB port that is built into the monitor. When I pulled the usb2 to the monitor cable, the error has disappeared and when I plugged it in the returned error. I have this will report to Dell, but in the short term, the problem is resolved.

  • Selection lists does not not on Android FF but work on default browser

    Hi, hoping for help

    Building an online game site that I'd like to work on the mobile and the PC without different versions.

    I find that the selection lists do not open on FF Android or iOS FF-mobile, even if they work fine in the default browser Android and chrome. Could someone help me debug this, or is this a problem in FF?

    Page URL: http://www.HoldingTheBall.com/clubroom.php?logon=1
    To test: load the URL, click on the image of the Guernsey on the middle right, and then try to use one of the selection lists.
    Features of the page: HTML4, CSS, JS, Jquery, Jquery ui, Jquery-touch-punch (by drag and drop on mobile)

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    There is no such thing as Firefox iOS. There is Firefox at home, who would have bookmarks Firefox Sync and the history of your iOS device. All the browsers on iOS are based on the iOS stock Safari Webkit.

    That being said on Firefox for Android that I see the behavior you mention. Is it still a question if you disable the div dragging?

  • Magic Mouse 2 is not scrolling

    I just bought a Magic Mouse 2, and when I drag my fingers on it as indicated to scroll, it does not scroll vertically or horizontally. I read the instructions, watched videos... nothing. Check the settings and everything. Please help me fix it!

    Hi there sepowers51409,

    Looks like your Magic Mouse 2 is not all scrolling when you drag a single finger upwards or downwards at the top of the mouse. First, I would check to see if, perhaps, the scrolling speed is set at a minimum, which could make it appear as if the scrolling does not work.

    Change the way your mouse works

    You have another computer to test with to help us to isolate and fix the problem? Don't forget to UN-pair he from the current computer if you do, so that it didn't is no complications when you test.

    If you want to remove (désapparier) a device from the list of devices on your Mac, follow these steps:

    1. Choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Bluetooth.
    2. Place the pointer on the device you want to remove, and then click the button which appears next to the device name.

    From: using a Bluetooth mouse, keyboard or trackpad with your Mac

    If you do not have another Mac to test this then I would be:

    1 UN-pair the mouse with the above steps

    2 remove the batteries

    3 reset the PRAM on your computer

    4. replace the batteries in the mouse

    5 pairing and testing new scrolling.

    If the problem persists can create a new admin user or test this point to another user, you may have on the computer?

    OS X El Capitan: set up users on your Mac.

    Thank you for using communities of Apple Support, let us know how it goes!

  • NI-VISA 5.3 driver Wizard does not support USB 3.0 devices

    Hi all

    It seems that NI-VISA 5.3 does not support USB 3.0 devices. When I try to use the driver Wizard to create a driver for a USB 3.0 device, I get the error "ERROR-1073807178: device descriptor error - value not valid bMaxPacketSize0 (must be set to 8, 16, 32, or 64 bytes). I noticed that the unit has been giving wMaxPacketSize0 of 512 (2 ^ 9). But the driver Wizard treats the value 9. So I think that Assistant driver does not support USB 3.0 devices. If someone could confirm this?

    Thank you very much in advance!

    Jackie

    Hello Jackie,.

    Unfortunately, USB 3.0 is not officially supported in VISA 5.3 when you use VISA Driver Wizard.

    A non-official solution is to work around the "information in the descriptor' by selecting 'Other' in the list of devices. You will need to manually enter the 'USB manufacturer ID (vendor ID)' and 'type USB (Product ID) Code. You will then need to find your driver in Windows Device Manager, right click and select "update driver software". This, however, is not a workaround solution guaranteed as NI-VISA 5.3 is not officially compatible USB 3.0.

  • Why my VFM does not scroll

    In my application, I created a screen and I need to scroll down otherwise I can't keep everything on the screen, but I can't get anything to scroll unless I have create some sort of list. I created a simple test to illustrate what I have my tent to do, you can see below what I'm doing is cretae 50 labels that will exceed the length of the screen (Bold 9900) and I hope he would display a scroll bar or make me scroll down, but I have no scroll bar and can not scroll at all.

    Import net.rim.device.api.ui.component.RichTextField;
    Net.rim.device.api.ui.container import. *;

    / public final class TestScreen extends screen
    {

    public TestScreen()
    {
    Super(fullscreen.NO_VERTICAL_SCROLL |) FullScreen.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR);

    final VerticalFieldManager OOR = new VerticalFieldManager(USE_ALL_HEIGHT |) VERTICAL_SCROLL | VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR);

    for (int i = 0; i)<>
    Add (new RichTextField ("Line" + String.valueOf (i)));
    }
    Add (VFM);

    }
    }

    Add fields to the form, and not to the optimization of resources.

    If you add fields so, you should consider addAll, it has a much better performance.

  • Bluetooth Airpod and non-Apple devices

    Dear Sir

    I have laptop (Lenovo) with bluetooth Jabra wireless headset.

    Could I use the most recent Airpod with my laptop or any other non-Apple bluetooth device?

    Best regards

    Denis Miller

    Hello

    Airpod will work with non-Apple devices that use of plug in charge of Bluetooth headsets, but in doing so will not provide specific features of Apple.

    When you use Airpod with Apple devices, users can benefit from automatic installation, Siri features and intelligent switching (with iCloud and macOS Sierra, iOS 10 account or watch OS 3).
