Little SQL Developer 4.0.2 running on window 8.1 64? I can't start.

It is my first time on this forum, so forgive my naivety please.

Little SQL Developer 4.0.2 run on Windows 8.1 64?  I can't start.  The start screen appears, the 10% of the way, and all progress bar then everything stops.
The first time I got the Java path quickly and successfully the entrance before you stop it).

What I tried:

Running BACK command window sqldeveloper.exe, sqldeveloper64.exe, sqldeveloperw.exe and others directly from the sqldeveloper/bin directory as administrator - and normally does not.

I have Developer SQL 4.0.2 running on my calculation of working Windows 7 very well.  My new computer to work at home, this is where I'm having the problem.

I'm stumped on what to do next.  Any directive or help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Yes, it's different. It is located under your OS directory $USER$. See here for an example

  • Characters not visible (caused by hitting the bar space or TAB in PL/SQL developer tool) causing slow running query? and database with low performance?

    Hi all

I need your help to get this issue resolved its urgent and I'm not able to get to the conclusion. Here is my scenario, I'm getting slow query runs because of some non-visible characters that are copied with the application of the PL/SQL developer tool. Please find below attached screenshot: Oracle_Issue

    Oracle_Isssue.png

Note: This non-visible characters are caused when we write the query then us hit the SPACEBAR or press TAB PL/SQL developer tool

I use the developer tool PL/SQL to write or test the query. Now I take this request copy paste in my application of the company (who takes this query connects to Oracle or any source of data base, catch data and produce PDF reports for customers).

Now, my client is the Oracle user when I write and you run this query by the PL/SQL Developer, it works fine, but when I paste in my Inbox feature request (reporting system) and run it, it runs slower and jams to the customer database. Now after a little research I found that when I copy the query directly from PL/SQL developer at my request, he copy some characters not visible (introduced when we press SPACE or TAB in PL/SQL developer tool when writing query) with the request, then I copy this query again to my box of the application Notepad and delete these non-visible characters. Now, after removing the non-visible characters again once I copy backup question in my application and run the query, it works normally. Please find below attached screenshot: Oracle_Issue 2

    Oracle_Isssue_2.png

So I think that the cause of slow performance is due to some INVISIBLE CHARACTERS present in the query.

My application uses SQL server 2008-2012 at the backend to store data from different sources.

    Character set used: SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS

To write and test queries: PL/SQL developer tool

My Client use Oracle 11 g

Character set used: Normal character: NLS_CHARACTER: AL16UTF16

    National Characeter: NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTER: WE8WIN1521

I just wanted to know the blocking process to the top of the database and the characters not visible how affecting slow running query of query database.

Please let me know if I'm missing something or you need more information on this issue.

    Thanks in advance,

    HP

    Simple answer. No.

Spaces and line breaks do not change the execution plan created. Does not plan to run slower or faster.

  • A LabVIEW vi or llb developed on a Mac runs on windows and vice versa

Does a vi in LabVIEW/llb developed on Mac OS work on Windows and vice versa. ?

For the most part, Yes.  If there is no specific code either Mac or Windows (such as the ActiveX calls), so the code will not work.

  • SQL Developer to crash at startup.

I made several attempts using different versions of SQL Developer and different versions of Java on the machine with Microsoft Windows 8.1 Build Enterprise (x 64) 9600.

    sqldeveloper - 4.0.1.14.48 - no - jre.zip 235,385,812

    sqldeveloper - 4.1.2.20.64 - no - jre.zip 329,066,864

    sqldeveloper - 4.1.2.20.64 - x 64.zip 399,957,535

    sqldeveloper64 - 3.0.04.34 - no - jre.zip 154,645,086

    sqldeveloper64 - 3.2.20.09.87 - no - jre.zip 182,052,469

    sqldeveloper - 4.1.3.20.78 - no - jre.zip 331,401,110

    Example of process:

    (1) files extracted to sqldeveloper - 4.1.2.20.64 - no - jre.zip

    (2) run sqldeveloper

    (3) window appears asking you to JDK home - click 'Browse '.

    (4) access to the Java/jdk1.8.0_65 - click on "select a folder.

    (5) confirm the path with "OK".

    (6) beginning of the program - the start screen flashes on the screen, but for a short period of time (tenths of a second).

    (7) nothing else is happening.

    (8) for execution sqldeveloper again not questions about the JDK. All splash screen (once again just flash).

    (9) in the Manager of tasks (details) I see for about a half second the process 'sqldeveloper64W.exe '.

I've tried combinations of different JDK and version of the SQL Developer - some versions display warning on the supported Java versions.

The latest version I managed to run (ignoring warning) 3.2.20.09 has been building hand - 09.87 using java jdk1.8.0_65.

No luck with all versions 4 +.

I also tried to collect debugging information as described in http://www.thatjeffsmith.com/archive/2012/06/how-to-collect-debug-info-for-oracle-sql-developer/

First attempt was unsuccessful - screen displayed for the second half and then again in line with command prompt is displayed in the CMD window.

I tried several times and finally was fast enough to press ctr + pause/break in this short time.

I tried it with versions 4.1.2.20.64 and 4.1.3.20.78. The latest is here:

Location of these files can cause problems? It does not prevent SQL Developer 3.2 work.

Apparently. Director of the company may shed some light on why this is true. In practice, you can try to force the SQL Developer user settings in a local folder that is writable, discutΘ in: problem starting sql developer 4.1.1.19.59

For convenience, here's an excerpt.  Use your 4.1.3.20.78x64 installation.  Choose a path to a local folder, even one on a flash drive.  Should work.

Add something like this line to the file sqldeveloper.conf to your installation:

  • New versions of Sql Developer not showing do not export progress

Hi, actually I was using SQL Developer to effect considered. The version I used was 3.0.04 and took me to Version 4.0.1.14 in earlier versions of SQL Developer (3.0.04) when I exported the query results that I would see a current account of the number of records exported in the lower left corner of the window. With 4.0.1.14 when I export all I see is a progress bar below on the right with the word 'RUN', but I don't get a count of the number of how many records were exported. Is this something that has been removed from more recent updates of SQL Developer?  The account running has been a very useful for large ensemble export, so that we can have a clear idea of the progress of the export.  Please any body can advice me how turn on the feature that displays the number of records exported.

View > Task progress will show you a number of records running for your exports

  • Operating system authentication does not not in SQL Developer 4.0.1.14

I just tried to upgrade from the 4.0.0.12 version of the a 4.0.1.14 new and that doing so broke the OS authentication. I checked the settings and 'use Oracle Client' and 'use driver OIC/thickness' are both enabled, the correct paths.

Launch of the previous version instead, the exact same connection works fine.

I use the 11 GR 2 11.2.0.3 x 86 Windows 7 client, in a field. Two versions of the SQL Developer seem to be running in x 86 mode, so they should be able to use the Oracle client.

I managed to make it work. It turned out that when I left my settings to import from the previous version, it does not seem that is imported correctly. It showed as active for the pilot of the OIC, but it was not in reality.

So I had to disable (and restart), then turn it back on (and restart). After that, it worked fine.

    Hello guys, Xev here.

I hope I meet new people there into that in this space. I hope this is the appropriate space to ask this, I see that others have asked about sqlplus and they where permitted to post...

I have a pl/sql script that runs in sql developer 4, but the exact same script will not run in the sqlplus command line?

When I run the script, it gives me this, but as you can see with this script that works fine with sql developer, he is not running sqlplus command line.

  • SQL Developer, Data Modeler, cannot print

I can't print any logic or relationship patterns of the Data Modeler.
I'm currently running SQL Developer 3.0.04 on a Windows 7 PC and my printer works fine.
When I run the print menu, it shows the number of pages that must be printed OK, I invoke the impression, but blank pages are printed.
The sequence of menu that I used is:
    File Data-> shape-> print-> print.
Any suggestions would be helpful, please advise.

  • Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler start error

    Hi all

I just downloaded Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeling (2.0.0.57.0) [released July 1, 2009] by selecting the option ' Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler for Windows (this zip file contains the JRE).

After that I installed the same and tried to start clicking on datamodeler.exe, I get the following error message

"Failed to create an instance of the JVM on the path:... \jdk\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll.

On the same machine, I can successfully run the SQL Oracle program without error. My machine is having Windows XP Professional SP3.

Any ideas? If there is a problem with Java, that of the Oracle SQL Developer should also not run. But as I said it runs with any error, but the Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler gives the above error.

    Kind regards

    JAA149

    Hey Jawad,

you wrote you have 960 MB of RAM - how did you do a test with 1.5 MB of RAM and 2 MB of RAM?
No doubt this is a problem of memory - memory change in the datamodeler.conf file option:
    -There 'AddVMOption-Xmx768M"by default; to take
-"AddVMOption-Xmx512M" or never, making it suitable for your configuration - you can check the available free memory first.

  • DBMS output window popping up in sql developer

I'm not able to get the DBMS output window appears.

I used the window out of DBMS until a few days back and it stops suddenly appear. I go to the view menu and selecting the menu option out Dbms. It should display the output window. But is no longer.

Anyone can shed light on how to bring this window?

Y at - it a setting I could have turned off without knowing?

I changed the coil to redirect to my local folder in sqlplus a few days back. Which would affect DBMS output Sql developer? trying to write off all the possibilities

That's what I used to redirect the spool... "reel c:\...\...\redirect.txt.

If this isn't the right forum, please direct me to the right.

    Thank you

    Satya

    Hi Satya,

If you use a major version 4.0.x of SQL Developer, the menu bar to try window > Windows reset to factory settings.  If this does not work, or otherwise, is not available in your version installed, you may need to nuke the user settings directory.

    Hope this helps,

  • Find the function object DB with SQL Developer

Hello to all, SQL developer 4.0.0.13 on Windows 7 64 bit version. I just started to use the function of object find DB. I type the name of the object in the worksheet, select the name of the object and press ALT + g pane, tab, palette, dialogbox binocular opens and shows me all the objects (and schema name) which are referred to as the selected text in the worksheet. When you click on the name of the object, the object opens twice in the object browser. Maybe I understood something wrong. I tried clicking on it once and twice, twice, I see two viewers object showing the same object. Also the pane, tab, palette, dialogbox binocular remains open after that. Is there a way I can hide/close this as soon as I click on the object. Thank you for your help in advance.

the search panel will remain open until you hide/close it

I'm not able to reproduce the problem of double-open - what type of object happens to, or she to what whether you click on?

In addition, you are on an older version, you can upgrade to 4.0.2 because it could have been corrected in a 2 patch releases as your version debuted.

  • create a new user with password expire - problem SQL Developer

    Hi people,

I use RDBMS 11.2.x on Solaris and Linux, and in the face of a problem that I hope someone can help me with.

Our policy is to create a new account with a temporary password and force them to reset the password at the first login.

    Therefore, I use: "create user < username > identified by < user > password expire...» »

The problem is that many users use Oracle SQL Developer and do not have access to SQL * more.

When I user logs in the database for the first time in SQL Developer, he just tells them that the account is locked.

It does not say the password is expired, and it does not give them a way to change this (that I can find it).

I'm not familiar with SQL Developer and hoped for someone who has had a similar problem can offer some suggestions.

    Thank you.

  • Database SQL Server (read-only mode) in Oracle SQL Developer

    Hello

I have connected the database server SQL with Oracle SQL Developer 3.2.10.09, everything looks good except that I can only browse the data, I can not change the data in the tables may not add new or delete lines. Query is also disabled (I got the message: Query Builder is not supported for this connection type.) I used a third of JDBC drivers - jtds - 1.2.6.jar as my connection to SQL server. Is there a way to change the data in the tables?

    Thank you.

As much as I KNOW edition data in table in the grid are possible with an Oracle database. On MS SQL, you can use update instructions on the worksheet.

    Hope that helps,
    dhalek
