  The javax.microedition.media.Manager class you can create a player to record audio.  It's RecordControl.setRecordStream will provide access you to the stream, as it is recorded.  When you create the player, you can pass additional parameters to define how many times the data is written to the stream and how, in real time.  They are documented in the class Manager under "custom Audio recording settings.

  You can specify data to be written each data milliseconds or every certain number of bytes.  You can align these values with the size of the image to get the exact image number if you need.

  I don't know if this will help, but it's something I noticed when the Win7 RC is out. I found that the provided Windows audio driver that has been installed automatically by Win7 worked, but she changed the apparent wiring to all the output on the computer Sockets.   Hello, I have an Acer Aspire v5-571, which only comes with an audio input so I think that it's a combo microphone / audio.

  The problem is when I plug my only audio headphones into the Jack, it turns off the internal mic sometimes. Other times I would play with the taken by plugging headphones in until it works where I can hear through headphones and speak into the built-in microphone.
