  I decided to start using iCloud photo library, so I checked the option "Préférences"-> "iCloud" Photos (version 2.0). He started to download items very well, but I noticed it is not downloading the entire library of Photos. My photo library contains 7065 photos and 151 videos, but Photos only started to load about 2500 points on iCloud library after activating what is 16.5 GB (see screenshots).   I moved my library on an external drive by following the instructions in the previous discussions, I copied the library on the external drive and then re-launched photos, hold down the ALT key then selected the library copied. Then, I put the copied as the library system and active re iCloud library library. but then I got a message saying I have available insufficient storage in iCloud. my library is close to 600 GB, and I'm on the 1 TB storage plan. Looks like photos trying to load the entire copied photo as a new library library. is it possible to stop this and to recognize the copied the original library, because I don't want to upgrade my storage iCloud simply to have 2 copies of everything in my library like I don't want to have to wait for 600 GB to download to get the library on the mac back in phase. I think I might just start a new library system on my mac and then download icloud, but I don't know if I'm doing this that I lose all the info from faces that I added to my existing library.

  While we're on the subject of the faces there at - it a way to sync on devices that I have this library on my mac mini and also I have the photos app on my macbook pro synchronized in the same photo library and but iCloud account info "faces" does seem to not copy on iCloud, is this correct, and is it possible to synchronize the faces

  Don't you can't stop it and it will not download everything but is checkin to be sure, the library is in sync - nothing will be duplicated

  Yes, you can start a new library and Yes you would lose your face albums but keep the tags face making re more quickly - identify and when OS X Sierra came out Photos will manage faces totally differently, but until the software is released, no one knows exactly what it will include or how it will migrate

  After converting my iPhoto photo library, the size of the photo library in the finder is 135 GB and the amount of pictures is a testament to the library is 26 673 when the "All Photos" album is selected. The quantities are close to those originally iPhoto library.

  I then started to load the new photo library on iCloud where, during the download process, the dialog box indicates that it is 'uploading 9306 points (xx.xx GB GB 104,46),"where xx.xx is the current amount downloaded so far.

  The difference in quantity and size of the photo is disturbing. Y at - it a reasonabe explanation?

• Solution of fast backup, photos of google or iCloud photo library?

  Hey there Apple community, im in a bit of a situation difficult and need a few thoughts. My iPhone more than 6 s is fully charged to 64 GB of photos and applications. My iMac is fully loaded with photos in iphoto, Yosemite. I have 10% left in my iMac HD. It won't let me save my iphone. I know I go through my iphoto library and organize and delete some photos and consolidate the events before migrating to the new application photos and then move it to icloud photo library, but I'm very limited on time in the next few months and won't be able to do. I wrestle on a quick temporary solution for backup, but don't want to spoil or lose my precious photos and other data.

  But this is what im thinking, tell me if this would mess things up.

  I would like to either temporarily back up all my photos on Google photos for now from my iphone, and then when I'm ready, I'm going to migrate my iphoto library all on my imac to the photo library to icloud and then transfer my photo library from google to the photo library icloud (but not sure. If it works Someone at - it experience with google pictures and Mac?).

  Or I simply activate the iCloud library of photos on my phone while it backs up my current pictures on my phone last year and then optimize my storage on my phone. Then a few months starting now to migrate my iphoto library 268 GB of Photos app on my iMac running Yosemite and then migrate the library of Photos in this same icloud photos library that I opened a few months back from my phone (I understand I will pay $10 per month for the size of the library).   Why not get an external drive and move the photo library of the computer to the outside. If successful, you can then remove the library on the computer, or just keep it as a backup.

  Since going to OS X 10.11.4, I was make great daily backups (+ 3 GB) on time machine. This seems to happen even if I hadn't used the machine so far here. I noticed that the Photos had a new date of all everyday even if I had not opened it or loaded new pictures, I looked at his files using Terminal.  It seems that ' Photos/Photos Library.photoslibrary/Database/metaSchema.db' was the file with the new date of every day. In my system, it is about 3 GB.

  What is the explanation for the file being rewritten every day? More importantly is it possible to prevent it? (Or Plan B: is there any similarly to tell Time Machine to ignore it when it finds files modified - assuming the metaSchema.db reconstruction is something that could be done without too much damage, if I already had restore the pictures of the machine time?)

  There is continually a synchronization process with your system photo library.

  And if you use iCloud the cloudphotosd library is also synchronize with the library, even if you use any Photos that day here.  Your system photo library is continuously in use.

  To avoid this, you need to have a library empty your library of the system, but then you cannot use Photos with the media browser or iCloud.

  I'm trying to set up my 2 TB time capsule to store my photo library and library iTunes music.  My wife and I have a 120 GB 13 "Macbook Air running OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.12 and backup via Wifi to the time capsule.  I want to be able to view, download, download and manage the library both of our computers and so that to use on our iTunes music library.  We have separated Apple ID as well, but we are bound by family.  We take most of our photos with our iPhones (5 and 6 respectively).  Our library is ~ 100 GB and our library of music is about the same size.  It is currently stored on a 500 GB external hard drive that is connected to a Windows PC that we no longer use.  I have several questions on how to achieve this:

  1. Is this possible?
  2. Two MacBooks see the images and the music library at the same time?

  4. If I open the Capsule in the Finder and open the data file, can I create a file of data next to our backup files server and put all the data?
  5. What is the best way to get the data from the external hard drive (formatted for Windows) on the time Capsule.

  iTunes isn't so bad but photos is designed by apple to be shared via the cloud. Not on the local network.

  The two computer cannot load the library at the same time. Yet once, I guess that your photo app is the local of photos of El Capitan.

  Copy directly on TC drive from your windows computer. But the fact that since the Mac, otherwise you will have permissions issues directly before you create.

  The length of time that it will take to your new to create photo library depends on the number of photos that you have your different libraries and your internet connection speed if you have enabled iCloud photo library.  It could take up to a week if your photo collection is vast.   I copied a load of photos from my laptop on my memory card but when I put in the phone (Bold 9780) new photos are not displayed in the photos app.
  This could be due to the postage stamp (suppose BBThumbs.dat) file in the folder still only data for files that were taken direct on the phone? If so, how can I force the system to rebuild.
  If this is not the case, how to actually do the phone re-scan the file to rebuild the library and show all that?

  Normally, if you make a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with the phone smart BlackBerry power, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart, the device will rescan and rebuild thumbnails and cache.

  Try it again once if you already have.
