Local network connection takes forever to connect at startup

I have a Dell desktop running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. After Installing Roxio Creator, the (Ethernet) Connection of local area now for always takes during the boot process. Before, you will see the audio icon followed by the load of the network icon in the status bar. The network connection took only a second to connect. After Creator 2010 it takes 10-15 seconds, then displays brand of yellow scream, then finally connects to access internet. Just for the record, I'm using Norton Antivirus 2010 and Windows Firewall.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Tim

Hi Tim,.

It seems its a problem with Roxio, you can try to delete the startup entry and check. If you still have questions, you may have to contact Roxio.

A clean boot is a troubleshooting technique that allows you to get the computer facing up and running so that you can perform diagnostic tests to determine what elements of the normal starting procedure are causing problems.

Clean clean boot.

1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

The user account control permission.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type

password, or click on continue.

2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load starting points.

4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

5. click on OK.

6. When you are prompted, click on restart.

7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

If the problem is resolved, make sure what third-party program is at the origin of the problem, referring to the link given below:

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Reset the computer to start as usual.

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue. On the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    The tutorial has 4 methods.

Method is a general method which, unfortunately, rarely works because the box, you need to check is usually grayed out (unclickable).

Two method is only for Vista Ultimate and Enterprise.

Three method applies to all versions of Vista.

Use the Reg file download. It is simple and easy.

Four method deals with editing the registry. If you are not comfortable doing this. Please do not. Three method is the best way to go.

  • M30: Could not find a Local network connection

Hi all, I really hope that someone can help me!
    I had a M30 Windows Home, it comes with a built-in wireless G connection (that's fine).

However whenever I try to access my network via an ethernet cable, I can't find my LAN connection under--> network connections Control Panel.

I have installed the last drive for the LAN (lan-sm30-xp - 56068112003.zip) available on the support site.

I'm still not able to detect my NIC or discovered my connection to the local network.

    Any ideas?

Bro, I think I've cracked it. Too, I have the same computer and had the same problem.

    Here's what I did:
Computer-> gerer manage-> Device Manager-> network-> NVidia-> power management card, then uncheck all the boxes.
I think that when the computer went to sleep, he turned off the adapter, and when the computer is awake, the adapter remained sleep... just a hypothesis.
Anyway, since I made the change, I had no problem.

  • local network connection missing, how to recover?

When I open Network Center and sharing, connection to the local network is not here

    Hi Maeleatha

    1. is the computer connected to a network server or a domain?
    2. have you verified that the network card works correctly?

You can follow the steps below to reinstall the network driver in the Device Manager and check-
You can check if you have any exclamation point beside the devices listed. If you have, then there is problem with the card is installed.

    a. click Startand then click Control Panel.
    b. click system and Maintenance, click Systemand then click on Device Manager.

    Note
if control panel is in Classic view, double-click Systemand then click on Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    c. in the NIC, expand adapter, right click on the devices listed and then click Uninstall.
    d. When you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove the device, click on OK.
    e. restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the drivers will be installed automatically. Check after this procedure if you are able to get access to the network.

If you get all the drivers related errors, you can check if you have the latest drivers updated, installed for the network card. See the help link - below

  • internet disconnection but to maintain the local network connections

How disconnect (and subsequently reconnect) the internet connection of a computer in the network when you are keeping this computer completely connected to the local network.  I can't find a way to do it with a few simple clicks.  This is easily achievable with Network Magic, even the point of having a particular computer available in the annex "over and out" for internet and 100% available for the local network.  The problem is that Network Magic is no longer available.

    Solutions appreciated.

  • Time Machine backs up only on the local network connection

    Hello

I have a LAN Ethernet and a wireless connection to the same network. Is it possible to force the backup Machien time to use only the ethernet LAN connection in all cases? I want to warn the TMB to limit the bandwidth of my wireless network.

Ethernet to be the highest network interface ordered to force, and as long as you're connected Ethernet, it be the interface for all traffic.

    System-> network preferences

If you want seamless switching between WiFi and Ethernet, then your router book the same IP address for the interface Ethernet and WiFi connections.  This is done differently by the router of different brands and models.  For an Airport Extreme/Time Capsule, it would be done by giving your Ethernet and TCP/IP WiFi of the same name from DHCP reservations settings, and then associate the DHCP reservation name with an IP address in Airport Extreme network settings.

  • Local network connection appears not to, I'm missing a Driver?

    Hello

Today, I wanted to test Ethernet/LAN on my desk that I just got the possibility of. But when I tried to plug in the Ethernet cable to the wall I have not all connections about LAN. I also checked my adapters to see if it has been disabled, but there is no choice for LAN it is.

So I decided to test it on a laptop to check if it was my computer or if there was something wrong with the cable. It turns out that it was my computer, like LAN worked perfectly on the laptop.

I then decided to check my drivers and it said I didn't have a driver of Ethernet controller. So I went around the internet to find something he did, but it seems that I can't get a driver for it, and I wonder if maybe that's the problem.

The current mother Board that I use is an Asus ROG Maximus VI Gene, and for the wireless controller, it is an Asus PCE - N10 11n Wireless LAN PCI - E Card.

I've not seen anyone else with the same problem I have, not only on the 'forums' or the support of Microsoft, but also on other forums.

I would get this as soon as POSSIBLE and I hope someone is willing to help and can help.

    Best regards

    THE SOLUTION:

Thank you very much for your help! But I have not found the answer here... A little.

What I've done, is to let the auto update/device manager when you try to install a new update for the network driver search my entire drive.

But earlier, I downloaded a driver from Intel for connections Ethernet Intel(r) (I217-V). And I guess that's the one I downloaded to adapt to what said properties.

But when trying to install Windows would not accept. so I came here for more help.

For some reason but now he accepted it. Could have been that I was stupid with install, but it has finally worked :).

What I've done, it is I went to the Device Manager (control/material Panel) and Device Manager/Sound found my Ethernet controller/adapter click right on it and chose properties, here on I chose the details and on the menu drop-down I chose the hardware ID, then copy & paste the second line of text and he looked up on google and found something on Intel sites that match my line of text.

Thank you for the help guys or girls!

    Best regards
