Locate the fuse on the motherboard

Hello guys, I have a hp pavilion laptop computer dv6 i3 that won't start. When I plug in the AC adapter, I don't see that the LED lights even when I use the battery. There is no power at all to the motherboard so I removed the plug and replaced by a new, still the same problem.

a friend told me it could be the fuse on the map that is bad, so I tried searching but can't find it. so if anyone has any idea where the fuse on the map please let me know. Thank you

There is no fuse. It is all printed circuits. If replacement of the plug AC module does not work, it's the motherboard itself that needs to be replaced.

I have recently restored a HP DV7 3063 cl laptop that died a hot mother (MB). I replaced the MB with a new Board of Directors of HP when the price has been reduced to $100, updated the CPU with an announced as new AMD 640 M and applied Arctic Silver on CPU and graphics chips. I put in 4 G memory cool, got the computer to work and installed Windows 10.

    However, I have several problems:

    1. The BIOS cannot locate the serial number of the motherboard during the boot process and sends a message to the effect. I hit the ENTER button start continues.

I tried to access the BIOS to enter the serial number or other possible solutions, I found online. Help forum a HP had a BIOS software tool for editing of Compaq in 2000 but said it would only be on the desktop and HP staff will provide a BIOS for my laptop.

Finally, the computer starts Windows, but other problems.

    mhscholder,

There isn't any publicly available method to update information in the BIOS.  HP only authorized service providers can update the MB after installation.  You will get this message during boot every time.  You also won't be able to run a recovery since the recovery media is looking for this information.

The PXE errors generally occur during the initialization of the network is listed in the boot order before the hard drive.

Here are the specifications of your Compaq Presario SR1909UK desktop and it is card mother A8M2N-(NodusM). There is a conflict in the two specifications for what CPU socket is actually used. The computer specifications claim a socket 939 CPU, while the motherboard plug State she has a socket AM2. You will need to examine your system to confirm what type of CPU and socket he did.

It can be difficult to locate a market after motherboard that will meet your needs as AM2 socket 939 about 5 years to 8 years and are several obsolete generation. • HPE 1170 uk: card Wintv... Where it connects to the motherboard?

    I have a hp pavilion 1170 uk Office http://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c03023321

the black cable of the wintv card came loose from the motherboard. It is a 4 pin connector. I can't for the life of me see where it connects to the Board of Directors.

    can anyone help?

Yes.  This looks like a USB connector.  Looking at your link, and then on the motherboard page support page - port USB headers are at the bottom of the card mother and labeled F_USB1, F_USB2 or F_USB3.  The "strong" part of the form passes over the location of the empty spindle to align the other four pins to the correct location.

  • ENVY 750 - 055xt: screw the motherboard for socket mSATA

I have the HP ENVY 750-055xt, which uses the motherboard of Kaili.  There is a plug on the motherboard mSATA and I inserted an EVO of 850 Samsung 1 TB SSD.  Fortunately this solid state drive works and is immediately recognized by Windows 7, no other frills.  However, the motherboard doesn't have the small screws in the tiny mSATA solid drive on the motherboard.

Anyone know the right screw size used to secure the mSATA SSD to the motherboard in Kaili?

    Hi Big_Dave,

Thanks for your reply.  I have besides a picture of the Samsung 850 EVO mSATA SSD drive.

It fits in the slot on my motherboard HP MS-7826 (Kaili) mSATA.  Please see below.

The drive performs as well as my boot drive.  As it is not properly attached to the motherboard, the only thing holding is the strength of tensioning of the socket.  Ocassion the tiny jury comes off in the socket and it won't be visible in the path of startup.  Opening upward the chasis LIKE 750 and re - insert the mSATA jury will get the computer running again.  The little screw would prevent the Council of Regularisez making and the frustration of re-Foundation there.

Elsewhere in this forum, I found mention of the screw that I'm looking.  This is the same as that used in the dwelling of minimap express PCI used for the WiFi card.  The expertise here source describes the machine screws Flathead as a M1.6 size.  I ordered a M1.6 x 3 mm of China.  I think it should work.  Some here said they used a M2.0 to head flat screws in the slot mSATA and it seemed to work for them.

My motherboard HP isn't a slot m2.  If so, then I probably would have opted for the Samsung SSD m2, instead of the mSATA SSD drive.

For now, I think I solved the problem with the mother screw missing for the location of nSATA.  Nevertheless, Big_Dave, thanks for responding to me here.

  • Screw the motherboard in HP G62 b29SA - unused holes in the motherboard?

I've been fixing G62 b29SA laptop from a friend (just replace the fan). There was some time between take apart and put back together (to get the right fan) so I do not remember if all the holes in the motherboard had screws in them. Quite a lot for screws, just spin and spin - there is no wires behind the motherboard or the screws are too small (but I don't think that I have large screws (or at least none that are not from another section (for example, battery or other).)) All the holes in the motherboard has screws?

Yes, but with a new motherboard if fails it "Repair Installation", you may need to perform a clean installation of XP.

  • Replaced the motherboard, no. Recovery, etc.

My HPE-400y flamed disappointing exactly 2 years after I bought it. I reduced to the motherboard and found an online vendor where I could buy what appears to be an exact replacement (same model #, physical layout, BIOS HP, etc.). Problem solved, at least in regards to power is concerned.

However, I also wanted to restore the PC to its delivery status to start again with a clean system, but I can't restore it either from the recovery partition or the backup disks. At least the disk backup software gave me a message that has identified the problem: he sees it as another PC. It can also be what's wrong with the recovery partition.

Other messages here on this subject, I see that the replacement of the motherboard, it is a "new PC" and the license does not transfer. But he also says that the exception is when it is replaced by a replacement motherboard "identical." The new motherboard is also identical, such that it is possible to get (that I know of), but I suspect that the recovery software can be configured more restrictive with a serial number or any other identifier fixed and doesn't let me do.

So where should I go from here? It is a PC with hardware that is identical to what I bought, but it is a fairly expensive system to have had only two years of life! (Not my past experience with HP, and we have owned a large number of them.)

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion Elite HPE-400y. The partition recovery and recovery disks, search for a motherboard that has the same original "tattooed" on it as the motherboard information. The "new" motherboard must be 'tattooed' with the correct model name, product number, serial number, build ID, etc., until the recovery can take place. Only service centers HP and HP has the tools necessary to perform this task, and you will be charged for this service.

    If you want to cleanup the Windows installation, you can use the information below;

    (1) look on drive C: for a folder named "SWsetup" or similar. Copy or burn this file to a different location. Back up all your personal data.

    (2) download and unzip ABR Beta with Windows 7 Support. This is the homepage of ABR for Windows Vista. Please follow the section "How to use" for information and instructions on how to use it. These steps also apply to Windows 7. Perform the 'activation' backup and save the certificate and the key has been recovered in several external locations. (He gets the certificate of your factory installed OS and HP preinstalled OEM factory original key)

    (3) download your version (the version that was preinstalled on your HP computer) Windows 7 from Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River. Using the built-in Windows 7 CD/DVD burning software, burn downloaded Windows 7 ISO as a bootable drive.

    (4) install Windows 7 from your new 'Windows 7' drive, following all prompts as needed. Don't let not Windows try to scoped. Run ABR 'restoration of activation' to 'install' the previously saved until the product key and the certificate. Make sure that Windows is activated, repeat "restoration of activation" until Windows 7 is activated. (It "installs" pre-installed HP OEM factory original key and certificate from your factory installed OS to your new installation of Windows. This HP OEM key and the certificate is what allows your computer to HP be factory preactivated. With this key and certificate, Windows never call home to Microsoft to get turned on... activation is legitimately done locally via this key and CERT.)

    (5) install all drivers from the computer. These can be found on the support page HP for your computer, or you can find newer drivers on the various websites of the manufacturers of component... Intel, NVidia, AMD/ATI, Ralink, Realtek, etc..

  • The size of the Pavilion HP8565C battery on the motherboard

I would like to know the number of the stack, which is located on the motherboard of my Pavilion HP8565C desktop computer...

The part number of battery for most desktop computers is CR2032. However, most of the manufacturers do not, list in their online form, the exact type and model of battery required. Therefore, when you locate the battery, note information on the battery (voltage, chemistry, packaging and wiring part number). If possible, remove the battery and take it with you to buy a new spare battery. Try the target (electronics or jewelry), Wal-mart (jewelry or electronic), Radio Shack or a battery specialty store.

  • Cannot access the files from the internal hard drive that has been converted to drive external hard after the motherboard is dead

I can't access the files from an internal hard drive that has been converted to drive external hard after the motherboard is dead. I think that my files are still there, as shown in the volume of the player volume ~ 500 gb which is almost completely full. But I can't access most files, including documents and settings. Uhm... I think the issue here is a misunderstanding of what you watch.

If you want to access your files from the old hard drive - you need to look in the right place.  If the old system was "Windows 7", "Documents and Settings" is the * wrong * place to look and "Users" would be the place to go.

You * will * take ownership and change permissions on ALL (you want to propagate to all subfolders/files when do - to save time) in order to get them properly.

New-->: Windows Vista/7 would have your files located in the directory 'Users' of the root of the drive - and then under your username.

    • \USERS\\Desktop\
    • \USERS\\Downloads\
    • \USERS\\Favorites\
    • \USERS\\Documents\
    • \USERS\\Music\
    • \USERS\\Pictures\
    • \USERS\\Videos\

    ... etc...

Documents and settings to WIndows Vista/Windows 7 is a symbolic link and would lead to what you see if you tried to use it.
