  Thanks Arsen, but that did not help. I did all the stuff in my bag, but nothing helped.   I think that the problem is inadequate compatibility between BB / RIM and MAC. So stick to PC for all restoration and Retrofits for BB. However, I have to cut a long story short, the solution is to download the new software from the site of the developer BB here using a PC: and follow the simple instructions.   The screen rotation. . an essential feature of the camera, video, browser, history-maker etc.  Mine do not rotate.  Never, at all.  So I can't use the camera entirely, the manufacturer of the story is beautiful, but useless since I can not get the correct format when I plug it into my TV HDMI, video may not fill the screen.  It remains resolutely in portrait mode no matter what I do. Software updates, full reset to factory etc. Nothing works... and Yes, before you ask, the rotation lock is not on.  Interestingly, this is my second Z10 and my problems have been material, not siftware.  One failed due to an unusable device, this one due to an apparent fault with the gyro thingy that detects orientation.  I could end up just like a user dedicated BB who don't question the Z10 in the box and goes up to his Bold 9790 (that I love).

  Finally solved with the help of the BB Support and a security wipe. Why it worked when all otherwise failed I have no idea but he did, but all sensors seem to work.

  Use BBVE to test the proximity sensor.

  The rotation of the screen may depend on the application you are using, some applications only performed in specific, portrait orientation or landscape. Example: some games work in the landscape and the hub can automatically rotate between portrait and landscape.

  I just got my Curve 9300. This device has an OS that is new to me, I used to have a Pearl a year ago. I set up my personal information to display on the lock screen so that if ever I lose my phone, someone who is finding it can contact me. However, when I lock the screen, it fades down / stops and when I press any button, I get a message saying "the keyboard is locked. Press the 'secret '... ». If I can't unlock it, the screen turns off / fades down once again. So basically, I never get to see the lock screen message that I put in place, it is always hidden. I didn't have this problem with my old bead. Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?

  When I lock my screen immediately, it becomes black. If I press a key it the message says 'Screen locked press power button to unlock.'

  When I lock my camera which is password protected my owner information is displayed. I'm on device OS v5.0 that I don't remember the owner info never display on a screen lock.

  Hello, I'm new to BlackBerry, and I want to know how to password lock my Blackberry Torch. I put a password, but I assumed that it did not close the phone when I pressed the lock button on the top of the BlackBerry. But, I have to select "Password lock" in the menu and then it is locked.

  Is there anyway that I can make sure it locks when I press the botton of locking on top, instead of having to select it from the menu. Pleassee... I love this phone and I want everything to be perfect!

  Nope - are you witnesses is WAD - working as designed. There should be a "Password Lock" screen icon who may be more quick than using the menu (depending on where you have this icon, of course).

  If you are using XP Home Edition, the built-in Administrator account probably doesn't have a defined password. You can start in safe mode, where this account will be selectable when connecting. It allows to connect and change the password of your normal connection.

  To start in safe mode, keep hitting F8 twice a second after turning on the PC until you get the start menu where safe mode is selectable by the up/down arrow keys, and then press ENTER.

  If you are using XP Professional, try to connect using the built-in Administrator account. You don't need to do it in safe mode (although you can if you wish). If your normal login screen is a display of the user symbol and hit ctrl-alt-del twice to get to login to text entry. Type administrator as the user name and try a blank password.

  On your desktop, right-click right properties, under the screen saver are of course "on Resume, display logon screen" is NOT checked. You can also disable screen saver.
