  When the screen becomes black like that and the device apparently work in every other sense, in my experience and what I've read of the experience of others, the cause is a failure of the hardware associated with the view.   Hello world. I have a problem. went to verizon and they couldn't help me. My phone got wet (in the Pocket all raining) kept phone turn off after 3 seconds. When the phone is finally back, the ball should scroll to the top and bottom but would do nothing when you press down.

  I have a password on my phone so I hit the Enter key instead of use the ball. BUT... when I went to enter my password I discovered than the Q, P and DEL keys did not work. strange. These are the two keys to outer edge of each side of the phone.

  my password has in it, and now I can not unlock my phone. I have my whole life here: (here is another problem. I won't have access to the computer where my contacts are guaranteed for 3 months I'm working away.

  Is there anyway to transfer contacts to a new computer? can I bypass the keyboard on the device by plugging it into my laptop (pc) and then unlock it this way?

  If I could get the key to work, I would be all set. The tech at verizon button is popped and tried using a thumbtack, but it did not work. Can blackberry remotely delete an existing password? I know that sounds stupid, but I'm desperate.

  You can't break or bypass the password. You set here for a reason and that BB works as it should to be sure.

  On your laptop, load Desktop Manager version 4.6 without the media manager

  Make a backup of your device. It will ask for the IPL in DM, and you can enter on the laptop there. Full backup.

  THEN, when you get the new device, use Switch Device Wizard DM to transfer everything on the new BB... yet once you enter the PW of the former.

  If you synchronize with Outlook, do also, as a precaution, the old appliance.

  If it's a device and you cannot disable encryption, you can try these steps, it will delete any previous policy on this device.

  But you did not answer if you're on BES or BIS / BlackBerry Internet Services on your account. You can perform these steps if you're on BES.

  My unit came with a pack of screen protectors.  The unit comes with a protective screen when new?  Has anyone tried these?  Can recommend you?

  Mine came with a top.  The screen protectors are delicate, because some of them have the adhesive on the bad parts.  The real protector is very thin and fragile.  I found that on 2 of the 3 that I had bought, the adhesive had transferred to the thick Panel, which is supposed to be retired.  If this happens, the protector is useless.

  I have a BB Bold 9000. It has been fine synchronization for two accounts (work and personal) for almost a year now.

  This morning I updated the software (for USB/Desktop Manager), I think, OS 5, but I don't know what version.

  Now, emails on the personal account - virgin .net - make their appearance in this box the mailbox with the small red 'new message' asterisk appearing OK. On account of work - xxx.org.uk - emails are received by the device but do they not appear in this "Inbox". I can find if I go in the 'messages' folder, but no "asterisk" icon to tell me that I have new emails to work.

  I don't know (I hope!) it's something relatively simple, a setting somewhere, but if I had a good glance around the various options, I can't find anything relevant. It was working fine until this morning and I can send emails from the BB on both accounts.

  Any help gratefully received.

  Pretty easy to determine exactly what that release: look at the Options > about, third line down, starting with a 'v.5.x.xxx '.

  Open your main Messages folder > Options > Inbox settings and check the box include what email accounts you want in the main Inbox. These UNchecked will only keep in their specific e-mail folder.
