  • Help! -Desktop HP Envy locked computer

I'm working on the computer of a friend who is a photographer.

She has a HP Envy.    Recently two problems happened at the same time.

She did an automatic update that killed somehow out of his internet connection and its msn password got screwed up.

On the screen, it has a red X through the internet connection icon.   It will say that it is connected but it is not connected.   I tried wireless and ethernet cable.

Update the password for msn easily.    So now that we know what should be the password, however, because the computer cannot connect to the net, you don't find the changed password.    If we are always locked.

I talked to the Helpdesk repeatedly.    They recommended that make a good backup, then just restore the computer to factory resets in the hope that it will address the problem of internet connectivity.

The problem with this, is that it has almost 1000 GB of pictures only.   (not to mention documents, emails, etc.)

So when I try to save it, I get an overflow error telling me the computer does not have enough space for the same number files.

When I tried to save only photos, it lasted 5 hours and was still 2% for backup.

The computer has a Bank of 3 hard disks, total 4 TB.    I also tried to use an adapter to read those directly on another computer via USB but I have yet to find an adapter that will read the readers.

I'm getting desperate.    Can anyone suggest and adapter that works, or a path in the computer that will bypass the signon msn.      Anyone?

  • Locking computer to other users

How to lock my computer, so that can't see the content?

How to lock my computer, so that can't see the content?

Your question is a little vague.
I'll try to anwer better than I can.

    1. If you don't want anyone to use your computer, all you need to do is set a password that will be required to enter before anyone can use the computer.
BUT I don't think that's what you hear.

    2. If you want to say that you do not want other users to see the contents of your staff in the computer, here's what you need to do:

Create a user account for each user.
Each user will have a secret password which is login required for access to his account.
This way, if the user disconnects, no one can see what are user account because they do not have to enter A user account, the user password was.

If it is still not what you mean, please explain.

  • DEP closed after restart of the full screen green and locked computer

Hello.  I was online with for example, and all of a sudden my complete green screen clear and computer locked up.  I had to reboot and everything seemed OK, but then I got the error msg which closed that is outdoors to protect my computer against a potential threat.  I've wound up and then be reopened and works very well.  My Microsoft Security Essentials doesn't show any problem, and also running a quick scan with Malwarebytes shows no threat.  I thought at first that my monitor can only be at fault (or video card), but the msg DEP me even more worried now.   Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

    Hi AGP123,

This isn't really much of a cause for concern unless you see several times IE crashing. If you do, it's almost certainly a pluggable software component IE, just so disable all, then in reactivating one at a time. It is very likely to be a hardware problem. See this for more information.

    Hello

This is what Microsoft says about the forgotten passwords.

"What to do if you forget your password Windows 8/8.1"

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/what-do-forget-Windows-password#1TC=Windows-8

If you have forgotten your Windows password, there are several ways to recover or reset:

    • If your PC is on a domain, your system administrator must reset your password.

    • If you use a Microsoft account, you can reset your password online. For more information, see the Web to reset your password page.

    • If you use a local account, use your index of password as a reminder.

If you've tried these suggestions and still unable to connect:

    • If you have Windows 8.1, you will need to reinstall Windows.

    • If you have Windows RT 8.1, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your PC.

For info Windows does not change password unless the user makes the change. Only solution if you can't fix it is to take it to a computer to diagnose the problem store.
