Now to lock the computer so nobody can use it.
I have a teenager at home who wants to use my computer, when the answer is no. I am the only one using it now, so I created an administrator with a password account. I discovered that when that I log out of windows with the locking button everything was not OK. It is locked until you turn the unit off to restart then it starts as if there is no password protection. If only I disconnect again with the locking button, all is well until another reboot. Anyone can use it. She wanted to take the teenager looking forward to fig, it takes only a power off to get on my computer. That change for it to start so you need the password to continue? I'm not what you call a computer person, but I can follow directions. Thank you.
Hi Enfieldrider,
I suggest you try the procedure below.
- In the search box, type control userpasswords2, and then press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
- Check the users must enter a user name and password to use this computer, and then click apply.
- In the automatically on Journal dialog box, type your password, and then click OK.
- In the user accounts dialog box, click OK.
- Restart the computer and check.

IOS 10.0.1 and 12.5.1 to Windows 7 iTunes, the iPhone no longer appears as a device on the computer when I plug it, even if it syncs very well. That's how I used to synchronize and access my photos from my phone to my PC.
* Is there a way to make the phone reappear?
* Is there a different way recommended to synchronize the pictures from the phone directly to a PC? I don't want to use iCloud.
Thank you!

Locking the computer on the lid close?
Microsoft will never include the option 'lock the computer' as an action to close the cover in their operating systems? The current options are only 'status quo', "shut down", "hibernate" and "sleep". People have asked for this year. It is very easy to do under Linux. Why Microsoft cannot accomplish this?1) go to regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\Power(2) right click > new > DWORD (32-bit)(3) change the name to AwayModeEnabled(4) select > right click > change the value (hexadecimal) 15) go to the Power Options settings page and change the action close the lid to sleep. It worked for me! -

Hello Arun,
Thanks for posting back.
If you have successfully transferred your files and they are stored in a location on the hard disk, that is, in a folder or drive on your computer, they will remain on your computer, regardless of any number of reboots.
Hope this information is useful. If the problem persists, please post back for assistance.

There are several approaches. I will recommend who should be very
easy to use:Buy a USB key (they are cheap) and put all the files
you want on it and remove the hard drive (including the)
the trash). Plug the USB in when you want to use the
files; Remove when finished it and keep the USB place
inaccessible to him.Make sure the USB is big enough for all files now
with a certain margin to add additional files.Ken Blake (MS-MVP)

Hibernate doesn't work, lock the computer instead.
When I go to 'Market'-> 'Hibernate' on Windows 7, the screen goes black but when I move the mouse, I'm actually on the login with the account screen locked instead of hibernation.
I have hybrid sleep off, wake up the disabled timers and sleep to work properly...
The "shutdown/h" command line with administrator privileges translates into 'the system cannot find the specified file. (2) "even if I can see clearly in the directory root of Windows 7 the hiberfil.sys file.
'powercfg - a' reports that
"The following sleep States are available on this system: standby < s3=""> Hibernate Hybrid Sleep.
The following sleep States are not available on this system:
Standby
The system firmware does not support this standby state.
Standby
The system firmware does not support this standby state. »I am currently running Windows 7 with dual boot with Windows XP, hibernate works great under XP but. I've had problems before with hibernate stopped working the day and the computer stops instead, then I did a clean install of Windows 7 and now, this problem occurs.
System Specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate
Intel Atom N270 processor
1024 MB
20 GB of free space on the partition Windows 7 OS
Intel GMA950 graphics(PS: Please don't refer me to http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/63567-power-options-sleep-mode-problems.html, these operations do not help)
Nevermind, I solved the problem.
Some reason partitions Windows 7 has been marked as active partition instead of the Windows XP partition during the installation. The problem has been resolved with a clean install of Windows 7 with XP partition marked active. Thanks for your help, Afzal
