  You want to ensure is that printers are off using the power button. In this way, that the print heads can be installed on the service station.   Sorry, but none of your suggestions helped. What I suspected at the outset was the printhead and it seems to be what needs to be replaced. HP and print heads are a big problem and I had this problem on previous models of the officejet family. My Canon has been in service for seven or eight years and I have never had a problem with it. I think that if I replace this printer that I might have to consider anything other than HP. Thanks a lot for your help.

I can't believe that the fix was something so simple.   I had installed a new router.  Windows for some reason, creates a virtual printer with a disk of Web Services and the port (which did not work or I do not know how to configure it properly) and removed my printer "hard."  I went just to network, add a printer, it finds the printer hard origin, I added it, deletes it on the virtual ports of WSD, and now everything is new to print properly!
