loss of internet access after you download updates from microsoft

Last night, I got 21 microsoft updates and have been installed just before turning off my computer.  This morning, I had no access to the internet and I had to restore the computer to the past with the help of the assistance service.  Tonight as I was closing, I received the same 21 updates and I'm having the same problem.  What can be done to prevent this

Try to avoid the installation of the hardware updates next time.

I added the updates one at a time and then restarted each time.  Between each update, I also tested the scanning interface.  At the time where all updates have been added to the scan function still worked.  My guess is that the order of installation, or (more likely) the obligation to reboot between updates made the difference.  I still have my wife updated so will update this when I do the update.  Either way, I remember when I went from XP to Win7 in 2010 I had the same error, but that has been resolved by the HP driver updates.

    Hi ISSYHenico,

    1. you receive messages or error codes?

This problem can occur if updates failed to install.

    2. are you able to boot into normal mode if you select Windows vista?

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

Otherwise, try to start in safe mode and perform a system restore and check:

    Check out the link:

Start your computer in safe mode

  • Why can not download updates from Microsoft?

I have a laptop that is running Windows Vista and I was not able to install updates from Microsoft for a long time. As a first step, what he did but one day, after an update it just stopped working. It will always fail, and sometimes I get a message saying that he does not configure so it. I solved this problem temporarily but just manually download the update from the Microsoft site that works but as of lately, I'm getting loads of updates (like 30 at a time) and it's just too many things to be updated manually. Also, I'm running in the updates that were as different versions (like x 64 KB34567 or KB34567 ie43) and I don't know which one I need. I would really like it if my computer would download these updates on their own. Does anyone know how to fix this?

The update of Windows becomes boring because whenever I get the said I have a ton of important updates for Microsoft, but then I can't download them so he just keeps popping up.

You receive errors related to updates?

    1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, all programs and then click Windows Update.
    2. In the left pane, click view update history.
      http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/see-which-Windows-updates-are-installed
    3. Find an update for Windows that has failed to install, and then double-click the update to view more information.
Updates that have failed to install will display failed under status, next to the name of update.
    4. In the Windows Update dialog box, next to the details of the error, review the error code for the update has failed.
    5. Follow the links in the Windows Update dialog box under more information or help and Support to resolve the problem, then try to reinstall updates by using Windows Update in Control Panel or by mail with the error code and maybe someone may be able to help others.

  • Disabled Internet access after you apply the updates of Windows

After you have installed the latest Windows updates, I lose all connection to the Internet. I can still see my network, but not do anything on the internet.

I spent an hour yesterday on the phone with my ISP check it was their system, not a hardware problem with my modem or router.  I spend another 1/2 hour on the phone with Dell technical support.

It turns out the issue was my DNS has been altered, and the only way to recover was to perform a restore of the system for 8/16.  Everything was going well after that... until Windows Update automatically ran last night, install the last two so-called critical updates. I don't know what is causing the problem, but my DNS was wiped out again, and I had again back 8/16 recovery point.

I disabled Windows Update for the moment because I don't know how else to solve the problem; in the absence of any change to my system, I suspect it's updates are something to my DNS. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a better solution or another way to solve the issue that doesn't require me avoid all Windows updates in the foreseeable future? Is there a way to know if/when a later critical update solves the problem created by these?

The cause has now been identified as McAfee updates and no Windows updates - they were both released at the same time.  If one of your PCs have McAfee so that they might be confusing your test results.

See the communication from this "criticism" - McAfee

Some customers may experience a loss of network connectivity and/or errors in McAfee Security Center after a recent update

You should make the fix McAfee, if necessary.  The McAfee link applies to consumer products but there are corresponding communications for businesses - see, for example,.

Corporate KnowledgeBase - DAT-6807/6808 causing problems with VSE 8.8.x

I have McAfee, but the connection has started working again on its own so I thought I was clear of problems. However, when I checked it says he was doing routine checks the updates in vain when I told it to do a manually. So stick with McAfee you don't follow their procedure of fix would have upgraded my PC at risk by not updated and, as ads from McAfee have said since then, the application did not refer to his database of threats correctly [so, eventually, the variation in the degree of severity in the user experience]. Actually, I removed McAfee then installed Microsoft Security Essentials rather & my answer IE is faster I knew it [even though I had the Add-ons McAfee disabled for centuries].

I had to run the McAfee Development removal a few times before and it caused a problem with the license if the PC was not connected to the internet during the abduction. Due cat of McAfee support reset their files in order to allow the relocation-reactivation. Here is their link cat - McAfee - media contains the link to the cat

    - - - - - - - - - - - - -

If you do not have McAfee then Windows update that kb2705219 could be another cause that uninstalling that appeared to solve the problem for some users.  But, personally, I think they could only reached a temporary fix [I thought my PC was OK at the time, but it turns out does not do the trick, as explained above] to uninstall an update - panel, programs & features, [left side of the window] see installed updates. Wait until the system has finished the research for the list of updates. Select update required, then right click and Uninstall.

  • After the latest updates from Microsoft, my Internet Backgammon supplied with Windows 7 no longer works. It is a dead link and the game opens same. That's happened?

I like to play trump stings on Internet and Internet Backgammon that's installed with Windows 7, Home Premium edition.  However, after the automatic updates installed yesterday, I noticed that the link to play the Internet Backgammon is no longer works.  It's just a dead link.  I can click on it, but nothing happens.  Not even an ounce of trying to open.  It's just 'died '.  I can still play trump stings on the Internet and I have no trouble to access the internet, so I wonder if this is just a small problem or do you have Microsoft remove Internet Backgammon as one of its windows games?  Note, this is Internet Backgammon that is installed on the computer, in the folder games - it is NOT the version of backgammon on MSN that you actually go to the internet and to play.  I am referring to the one in the Games folder, which is installed with Windows 7.  I play this game almost every day, so I hope that it will be restored.  I wish there was a way to contact Microsoft about this, but there isn't and they charge, then...

  • No Internet access after you have copied the user files on.

I created a new user account and copied all the files including documents and settings from an old user account.  Before I did I unhid all hidden files and system files.  What I was expecting, it was the new user account should behave exactly like the old user account without problem outside the difference between user account names.

However, after doing this I couldn't Internet new user even account I could ping all web Internet sites I've tried.  Finally, I have to create another user account and copy only the document and manually I have to redo all the personal settings.

If the problems were gone.  However, I would like to know if it is a problem to copy personal settings.  What is the most efficient and effective way to transfer the account from one to the other?

    Hello

Did you remove the following files on the new account?

    • Ntuser.dat
    • Ntuser.dat.log
    • Ntuser.ini

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/811151/en-GB

The link above shows how to copy a profile, however as far as the most effective way of copying, it depends on what you want, that is to say some parameters can be set for all users of the computer local strategies etc. If you want documents available to all users, use an all the "users share" with the permissions to prevent some accounts, editing files. This may or may not be what you want to achieve.

Please confirm what data/files/personal etc settings you want to duplicate to the new user accounts, and state what - this time when creating or on an ongoing basis.

Finally you use XP Home or Professional?
