M1536dnf MFP: View M1536dnf fax journal issue

Dear Sir.

I install my M1536dnf as a network printer, I would like to see my journal to fax any of my workstation to a network, what setting I need to do?

Hi @wonghi,

Thanks for the reply.

The best way to access the fax log information is through the HP ToolboxFX. Please consider using a supported operating system for this utility. Otherwise, you can print the printer fax log.

Printing fax logs:

  1. On the Control Panel, press Fax Menu button.
  2. Use the arrows to select the menu reports Fax and then press the OK button.
  3. Use the arrows to select the option all reports of fax and then press the OK button. The product leaves the settings menu and print the reports.

The company that I work has two HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP Copier/printers-faxes. They are configured as basically the same that each related to its own line of ananlog fax. One of the machines is a continuous problem where it starts to store faxes instead of sending them.

I went through all the HP troubleshooting documents. All settings have been verified. Firmware has been updated to the latest version. When I run the fax test via the service menu, always happens on all points.

The machine receives faxes fine, but when you try to send a fax, it stores and never sends it. Following the troubleshooting documents HP, 02/11/12 I restored by default. After that, the machine was able to send faxes normally do not their storage. On 09/11/12 machine began to store faxes rather than send them again. Today, 15/11/12 I restored default again, and the machine is able to send faxes again.

I have not the time to be constantly dealing with this issue. Why does the machine start storing faxes instead of sending them? How to prevent it from recurring? Should the machine be returned? Please do not direct me to a generic help document that I have already read. Thank you.

I would contact HP directly on it. It may need to be replaced, or it may just need some deeper resets. Their Laserjet experts know that go with this problem. I would wait until the problem returns to the top to call, because they will tell you to do if you call while it works very well. If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.

  • HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP responds automatically faxes

My new HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP does not automatically fax calls.  I don't have a phone hooked or a voice mail/answering machine.  "Answer Mode is"Auto".

We use an analog converter to connect to our internal digital VOIP phone system.  Prior MFP which was connected has not had problems with answering machine/printing faxes.

I can see "Incoming" call on the screen, but it just rings and rings.  If you press the button "Start Fax" when it rings, then he will proceed to the connection and receive it, it finally drops the call.  It's not good to see many faxes come when the office is closed or otherwise unattended.

I tried setting "Fax / such", but that no longer works.

    Help, please!

    Thank you very much!!!

  • HP LJ 1536 dnf MFP: 1536 Fax installation issues

I'm on a land line telephone CentruyLink. The line comes out of the wall in the 1536 and comes out on a phone. Is there another phone connected to this line in my house.

The FAX is set to automatic and two rings. Using the test HP Fax number, the phone rings, I answer, I get the FAX noise, hang up and the FAX is printed.

BUT when I telephone number using my cell phone, it rings, I pick-up and cell phone noise Telec.

This use to work properly, but now I'm having trouble. I spoil the putting in place or is there something wrong with the Fax/printer? Or maybe Qwest did something for the line.

    Hey @DanielF,

Thanks for getting back to me on this subject.

When you use a phone line shared with your fax, phone and answering machine you would have normally established for the answering machine takes first.  You want the fax machine must be set to answer 2 rings after the answering machine. With this configuration, you would be able to receive faxes, answer messages and telephone calls on a phone line. When you will be sent a fax that is generally a good rule to have the person who sends the fax call you in advance to give you just a heads-up that the fax will be sent to you. In this way, when the fax is sent you just listen to the answering machine pick it up after 5 or 6 rings. Fax answering tuned and if fax tones are detected the fax answer. If you're not home you will still be able to receive faxes and answering machine messages.

If you prefer this Setup, please follow the steps below to configure you fax.

Step 1: Set the answer Mode:

    1. Click on the button Setup (key) on your printer
    2. Right arrow to Fax Setup and select OK
    3. Select OK in the basic configuration
    4. Right arrow for Answer Mode and select OK
    5. Right arrow for TAM and select OK.

Step 2: Set up the rings before answer:

    1. Click on the button Setup (key) on your printer
    2. Right arrow to Fax Setup and select OK
    3. Select OK in the basic configuration
    4. Right arrow for rings to answer
    5. You will be able to set this to 1 ring to 9 rings. Remember, this must be set to 2 rings higher then your answering machine. If your answering machine picks up suite 5, set the rings to answer on your fax to 7. If your answering machine picks up suite 6, set the rings to answer on your fax to 8. The difference of the 2 ring will allow your printer enough time to 'listen' to the answering machine and raise the fax if fax on the line.

Please also define Mode of fixed STOP error and fax (V29) at Slow speed in accordance with the instructions in my previous post.

Please let me know if the steps I provided work for you. Good luck!

The only way I can get the newspapers to appear is if I'm the administrator user.

What was also required to work in this version?

    Hello

I think there is a problem with the security classes.

In the user guide by: to edit a log, you must have all access to the class of security for the newspaper. To publish a newspaper, you must have all access for classes of security of all dimensions in the detail rows that use the security classes.

Some posted the same problem of report and from in settings by selecting never he was supposed to turn it off. I guess it worked for them, but not this model. When I updated to the latest HP driver from the HP Support/drivers page, my MFP stopped scan from either a wireless network or directly connected setting.  It seems that if I scan the bed itself, I can scan when the print/scanning felt connected to my Mac, but the real problem is the document feeder.

I also updated all THE updates Apple, including the HP Easy Scan application.

When using the document feeder, the process initiated as it should... the first page scans, but does not appear in the HP scanning software... then 10 minutes later, the second page scan (same not result... no picture)... can I get a document could not load the error or something.  When this happens... I can't try to scan anything more until I have restart the MAC and printer.

  • LaserJet Pro M177fw MFP: confirm the fax sent

Is there a way for the printer to "beep" when a fax is sent successfully? Right now you have to look at the screen of the printer to confirm the fax has been sent successfully. Just old habit I guess.

    Hello @WaltGrosch,

Welcome to the forums of HP.

I understand you wanting to your M177fw "beep" when it sends a fax successfully.

    I would like to help.

If it's a wonderful idea, the Laserjet printer does not have this ability.

You can configure the printer to print a confirmation page when a fax is sent successfully.

I agree that the tone would be better.

To set the confirmation page, you can enter the menu setup then the fax menu.

  • LaserJet Pro M127fn MFP: Stuck "print fax page 1.

I had to receive two pages of fax. After that the first page has come through it is stuck "print fax page 1. The second page is never good. I can't print anything. I already disconnected my printer and plugged in. When the rear connection, it uses the same throughout first fax page and gets stuck again. Happen from nowhere at least once a week for the past few weeks.

    Hi @cvsc ,

I see that you are having problems with the printer stuck in an "Print fax page 1" error message when you restart the printer, it keeps printing the same fax. I would really like to be able to help solve this problem.

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem. It's probably a little different then what you have already tried.

Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector.
This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

I would say for updating the firmware of the printer. Here is the link just choose your operating system and select the firmware download. HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127/M128 series Firmware update.

If you're still having problems, try to reset the printer. I'll send you another step to try in a private message to try.

I'm working on a M525c who does not accept faxes all incoming visitors. The machine itself is not error codes, but the customer will get phone calls from their clients to inform them that a fax through and the outside client gets an error saying something like "Mailbox full". I confirmed that errors are observed by several clients from multiple locations, and there is sporadic.

    Additional details:

-The customer before (a month ago) had a LaserJet M521 who was having the same issue, what the required to return it and upgrade to the M525.

-The customer has had their fax checked by the telephone company line and everything came back ok.

    -Firmware is up to date

  • M127fn LaserJet MFP Pro: Printer/Fax stuck on 'Printing Fax page 1'

My business fax machine is stuck on a screen that says "Printing Fax Page 1". I tried to unplug it for 5 full minutes and it does not clear. How can I reset the printer/fax?

There are a growing number of messages in this forum and elsewhere in the internet with the steps to do a reset on different printers.  Reset to will sometimes fix problems, so resetting is not the issue.

A few resets require you to enter key combinations to open special menus on your printer that you were supposed to never access.  These special menus are used by developers and staff support for debugging of problems, but they are not intended for inexperienced users and can have unexpected results.  A wrong button push and you might no longer have a printer, but rather an expensive paper weight.  On top of that, if you happen to the 'brick' the printer in this way, it is considered as customer induced damage and voids the warranty automatically. These resets are only intended to be distributed and used as a last resort and under the direct instruction of a representative of the HP technical support. They should not be made lightly!

    Hello

I think about buying from this all-in-one to a network of Mac computers. I need the ability to archive faxes to the computer or a network drive, or by fax to e-mail. Is it possible with this printer.  If not, are there any alternatives

    Thank you

    Tim

    Hi Tim,.

The HP Laserjet Pro M251dn not offer not any digital fax, archiving capabilities, or e-mail or a network folder.

You can find the data sheet of the printer below, as you can see in the 'Fax smart software features' section, and it does not offer any digital fax receive capability:

    Journal of h20195.www2.HP.com/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=4AA4-5713EEE&DOCTYPE=Data & doclang = en_US & searchquery = & cc = uk & lc = en

Within the B & W Laserjet Pro products multifunctional none of the printer offering such digital fax, archive of features, such is offered more wireles on Officejet Pro or Officejet Pro X series inkjet printers.

It may be useful to know where you come from as the models avaiilability varies among different countries.

  • Manual by the composition of MFP LaserJet 1536dnf fax

I recently got a LaserJet MFP 1536dnf for use in my home/office. Sometimes, I need to send a fax from long distance. I use a phone so card first dial the access number; then select the menu option; enter my PIN code. Select the menu option; and finally diall the number for which I am fax.

My manual says to dial manually, but how can I do this? If I dial the number for the unti to dial a number, I have to press send by fax; then, as soon as responses of calling card service; the appliance starts to tryting to send the fax.

Ian can't just somehow let me dial numbers, etc., and when the numbers called answers start to send the fax?

I think that I stumbled across the solution-

After I compose each set of numbers, I press the key "#" and this causes the machine to pause and wait for more input. So it goes like this:

    • 1-800-1234567.
    • 1 # [menu selection]
    • # 123456789 [PINE
    • 1 # [menu selection
    • 55512345678 [fax number of the recipient]

and then my device will start voting as soon as he gets a reminder.

I tried experience call my cell phone with this and it seems to work. I don't have anyone off hand that I can fax to see if it works. When I need to send another fax; I 'he's trying this.

The other alternative is you describe, connect a spare phone unit or route of an existing externsión through the machine.

    Thank you.

  • How to view a Fax

Thank you for your information about how to add a file to a fax.  As a result, my original question regarded mainly how display a fax in Windows XP MCH edition when an error message appears after you click display in the Fax Console by saying: "no default viewer is installed for display .jif filoes.  Before using XP, my operating system is Windows 95, which opened under Microsoft Excahnge faxes and authorized files attached using the model for sending a fax again.  Unfortunately, it seems that XP does not have either the provision of attachment file for the model of Fax Console to send a fax or a viewer by default to display a fax.  What can I do as I do to display a fax?

    Kind regards

    Phkillip Porcheron

Probably, the message said that there is no default viewer for files TIF (THAT IWD's peanut butter).

Although you can configure any viewer file able to view TIF files by default, the usual default is Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.

    Easy way:

Find all files with an extension TIF.
Right click and select 'open with '.
    Select Choose program
If Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is listed, select it and then check the box "always use this program to open this type of file.

If Windows Picture and Fax viewer is not listed, then...

    In Windows Explorer:

    • On the Tools menu, click Folder Options...
    • Click the File Types tab.
    • Scroll down to "TIF" (if she is not there, click on 'New' and add it)
    • Click on the button restore, if it exists.
    • Click the Advanced button.
    • Click the Open action.
    • Click on change...
    • In the Application used to perform action: enter

      C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %1

"C:\WINDOWS" is the directory that contains your Windows installation.

    • Press OK
