  After installing XP SP2 (not Toshiba) I get "Unknown device" in Device Manager.

• Satellite M30-801 - display will not work after hibernation

  Hello everyone,

  I hope that you will help me with this problem. I have a Toshiba Satellite M30-801 and my warranty is over.

  A few days ago my computer was a few hours of standby. When I rebooted the system, the screen has continued on a black background. No images.
  I am connected to an external monitor to check the video card and this test has been authorized. Now, I'm writing this letters using my laptop connected to the external monitor.
  Also, I noticed that there is blacklight on the screen.

  I had checked the power management for the controllers of USB bus on the control panel.
  I downloaded and installed the latest update of the bios.
  But the screen remains black.
  Could you help me? any ideas?

  When you start your laptop without external display can you see anything?
  When you use external monitor that happen when you try to change the display mode by using the FN + F5 key combination?

• Satellite M30 - possible repair broken?

  My father seems to have broken his laptop (Satellite M30-107), which is the model above.

  When you press the power button it turns on but there is no sound what it is running because I expect. There's no display on the screen. Also the cd drive does not so much need to open manually.

  If I button green light comes on to show so you have power to the keyboard.

  I tried to connect an external monitor, but that does not work either.

  Does anyone have any other ideas I could try? Or know where I could take it to be fixed because it's about 1 week out of warranty :(

  Hi Martyn,

  The first thing to try is to remove the ca cable and also the battery so that the laptop is completely isolated from any power source, then leave it for 5-10 minutes prior to re - attach the cable ca.

  Try turning on the laptop so normal and if you have the same problem then discopnnect the AC cable and install the battery and try again feeding.

  If the laptop still does not power on then it is likely to be a problem with the motherboard that will have to be checked by an authorized service center.

• Unable to add a new column to the table of the LCD? Option, just usually add it.

  I have a form of LCD with a table in it. Im trying to simply add a new column to the table. The option is there, but the column appear just after clicking Add the column to the left. I selected a column, right click the space > insert > column to the left. But the habit intsert. The object table properties tab shows lines and colum numbers, but they are grey.

  It is a dynamic array, where a new line can be inserted using a button. Is that the dynamic nature of the question? ID hate to cancel all the flow dynamics and programming just to add a column, and then reapply them all.

  You do not add the columns in the object > palette (screenshot 2) of the Table. I suspect that the problem is that it is not enough on the page (in the content area) to add the column. In the screenshot 1, if you look at the width of the column highlighted from the space to the right of the table, you will see that a column can be added due to restrictions of space.

  Reduce the width of the column highlighted (temporarily), and then add a column. Once added, you can resize the columns to match the width of the page.

• Satellite M30-801: CPU only works with a 600 MhZ

  Hi people, I have a strange problem since my PC back to toshiba support (lcd problem, on assistance report i red that the pcb has been replaced): my CPU goes up to 600 MhZ. I tried to update the version of the bios from 1.20 to 1.70 successfully and I have restored the default value believing it could be a related problem of bios , but nothing changes.

  The problem is present in a new installation of Windows XP (from recovery CD), so I think I could exclude a software problem.

  Any ideas?

  The update of BIOS does ' t solve this problem.
  It seems that the Toshiba service partner forgot to start several compatibility tests. This is necessary after some repair procedures. Without this additional test, the CPU does not work with maximum efficiency. Well, there is nothing to see. You must contact the service again and it should solve this problem.

• Are satellite M30-801 - there new wireless network cards?

  I can't connect to our network via wifi, because the sign used by the net is WPA2.

  It does not resemble the current map supports the level of registration even if I updated the drivers. I would like to know if there is a patch that I can download or if I need a new card and if so what model recommend you.

  WLan encryption is hardware based and you cannot turn it on update driver.
  If you want to use the newest WLan encryption, then you will need to use the WLan card that would provide support for these WLan encryption.

  In your case, I recommend use on USB WLan key.
  There is a better way to do mobile WPA2 compatible.

  I have a Satellite Pro M30 Modell Nr.: PSM35E and just changed to Windows 7. But put him Nvidia card NVIDIA GeForceTM FX Go5200 Grafik 64 MB of RAM is not working properly.

  I m a bit confused; you have some problems with the graphics card or with the webcam?

  I assume you mean on external webcam connected to the USB port? Right?
  What happens if you connect the webcam to the laptop? Can win 7 recognize the device? Have you installed additional drivers for this webcam?
  Most of the time it s necessary to do so because I think that it s not Plug & Play device.

  I tried to install the generic driver hosted on the site Intel.com to add support for WPA2 wireless 2100 on my M30-801 my client... the driver is marked 1.2.4.35 and the installation went well... til I noticed that by ipconfig/all wireless cards resulted in disconnected and I could not 'connect' to my USR9110 router...
  I rolled again soon to driver Toshiba 1.6.0.47 for the 2100: someone tried to do a similar such update?

  If the Toshiba driver works correctly, so I see no reason for a change.
  Encryption depends on the material and not on the software.
  If the card does not support WPA2, so also an update of the driver will not help.

  to be honest, it is quite expensive to replace laptop Lcd as a motherboard. Before I had a laptop with LCD broken and used the external monitor connected. You should contact Asp to get qualified service.

• Turn off the screen on Tecra and using external monitor/LCD TV

  I recently bought an LCD TV and was anxious to use it as a monitor for my Toshiba Tecra M2V. I ran into problems.

  I seem to be unable to 'disable' the laptop screen and ONLY use the LCD TV screen at cary, work, games etc. I seem to be rather only beable to COMBINE the LCD with my LCD screen, by creating a "two" screen I followed all the online help and I am still unable to have one screen.

  I just want some LCD TV as my screen!

  Any ideas on how to do this? It's really a pain!

  Usually, you should be able to do this by using the FN + F5 key combination. As far as I know if the device is connected to the TV, you have three options (maybe depends on the laptop model) LCD only, LCD and external, just the TV device.

  You can also try to switch using GeForce properties:
  Display properties > settings > advanced > GeForce tab > Device Settings > Select output device.

  Satellite M30 is older model laptop so less product type choose Archive.

• Alienware LCD screen

  I have a 1 year Alienware 17 R2, which features an LCD broken/problem - the colors are washed out and there are purple spots everywhere.  I am sure that it is a hardware problem (LCD screen) because when I connect it to an external monitor/TV, the display is correct.

  My laptop is still covered by the warranty.  I bought this in the United States and settled here in PH - where I am based.

  How to get help or if the warranty?  I already have the "transfer of property" online, contacted several ways of Support from Dell (including that of the India), but I was passed from one to the other without assistance.

  Who can I call or email so that someone can help me?

  Anyway, the LCD was replaced yesterday by an authorized Dell and the screen is back to normal now.
