M3035 / 37 password HDD MFP

Hello

The audit is looming.

I found this: settings > Security > security settings > password hard drive

Which provides an option to set a password.

What is this for? After scanning HP Guides, user manuals, 'Security' info, nothing lists any info on this setting.

That fact setting this password on a hard drive NON-encoded in fact?

Our HP M3035 and M3027 LJ doesn't have a hard disk ENCRYPTED because of the option of encryption showing 'Not available' settings > Security > hard and security settings for the mass storage and it shows States and no. installed EIO devices: HP LaserJet M3035 MFP Series: encrypted hard - No HP Secure installed hard drive

(Seems we need HP Secure Disk High-Performance hard or hard disk EIO (J8018A/J8019A) to encrypt it?)

Thank you

TD

A good article on the security policy and HPs HARD drive encryption:

http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay/?sp4ts.oid=3597338&spf_p.tpst=kbDocDisplay&spf_p.prp_kbDocDisplay=wsrp-navigationalState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c02164443-11%257CdocLocale%253D%257CcalledBy%253D&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

The password is used to erase your documents safely once the HARD drive has been encrypted.  Without the password there is no way to retrieve, manage or delete files that have been written on the disk without reformatting.

Set a password on an unencrypted drive fails and do nothing.  Reset a password on an already encrypted HARD drive resets the drive to a clean slate and all previous data will be lost.

Another good resource is the HP Security document:

http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.BINARYPORTLET/public/kb/docDisplay/resource.process/?spf_p.tpst=kbDocDisplay_ws_BI&spf_p.rid_kbDocDisplay=docDisplayResURL&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&spf_p.rst_kbDocDisplay=wsrp-resourceState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c01707469-2%257CdocLocale%253D&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

Browse the Security document to 'Encrypt' find all other sorts of neat features that can be configured.  HARD drive encryption will protect data at rest, but you can also configure data in flight to the printer on some models through IPSec and SSL.

    Hello

I guess this is a feature of Toshiba. I saw something similar on the 500 GB 3.5 HDD.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to remove this software from the external HARD drive.

  • Tecra A9 - protected password HDD data recovery

    Hello

My old Tecra A9 is dead, it does not supply power even on the splash screen more.

Bad news is that my HARD drive is password protected, and it has some interesting data that I need to recover (from my last backup). I know that the HARD drive password because I walked whenever I started my Tecra.

I removed the HARD drive and mounted in a USB enclosure to try to recover the data from another PC.
But the drive is not detected by Windows, which is to be expected, I guess, because it is password protected.

Yes, because I know the HARD drive password, is there a utility software available that will allow me to recover my data?

If not, what other options may be available?
I thought to buy an old Tecra A9 on eBay or elsewhere and inserting the HARD drive in it, but I don't know if it would work (I don't know if the password is related to the specific computer laptop serial number or something else).

    Any information would be appreciated
    Tim

I guess you could put the HARD drive in a laptop (any Toshiba or any brand?) and remove the password in the configuration of the BIOS.

  • Equium A210-17I do not start - how to access password protected HDD?

My Equium A210-17I (model: PSAFJE) died recently and I'm trying to recover the contents of the hard drive.

I hope that I can just put the drive into another laptop and start (either by using the player itself or a Live CD). Unfortunately, when I put the drive in another machine, it prompts me for a password HDD/SSD but say that the password is incorrect.

Anyone have any ideas? The Equium stores a version coded the password or something?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    What I've tried so far:

1 put the drive in Toshiba Satellite C655. Request password and after 3 wrong attempts to stop.

    2. put the disc into the Compaq 610. Request of password and after 2 attempts to let me Live CD boot. However, once started, the drive is not visible at all (disabled by BIOS).

    3. with all the variations of portable password input - completed by zeros, dashes, spaces, etc.. Uppercase, backward, etc..

In what concerns the attempts to revive the satellite (so I can remove the hard drive password):

When it is plugged in, power and load front lights.
When lit, the logo turns on, the fan turns and can also hear the hard drive.
Then there's just in this State.
No display, no beeps, no lights on the keyboard.

Tried to start after removing the hard drive and CD-ROM drive. Also tried without the installed memory. All the same result.

    Thanks for your help.

    > Unfortunately, when I put the drive in another machine, it prompts me for a password HDD/SSD but say that the password is incorrect.

It seems that the HARD drive has been guaranteed by a HARD drive password.
Mate sorry but this password cannot be deleted if you n t know the password.

Usually to remove the HARD drive password, you must put the HARD drive in the Toshiba laptop, have access the BIOS and there is an option called HARD drive password which allows you to remove the HARD drive KNOWN password.

  • NB500 - 12 c - HDD is blocked by password

Well, I have a toshiba nb500 - 12 c that I na not use for a long time because the screen was broken, recently my other laptop (toshiba nb250 - 10 h) has started to receive some big gal, the processor overheats and gets to 60-70 degrees in 15 minutes and there is no solution, I tried to clean the dust and all but not its use.

So what I did was to replace my nb-250 in my nb-500 screen, when I started the nb-500, the screen worked fine, but I was invited a bios password, I had already asked a password of bios before and I had no idea what it was because I never put any in the first place and the laptop came without any bios password configured , looking for some tutorials on the internel I managed to bypass the password of bios, restarted the laptop and now its wonder the hard drive password, he wasn't even a password hard drive configured, I have no idea why its asking me for these passwords and windows cannot start eveytime I turn on the laptop, toshiba logo appears, and it follows a blue screen asking for a password hdd/Sdd.

I've read tutorials who says to a blank password in the bios resets the password, but it does not work... im stuck... can someone help me with this?

    Hello

This is very stupid situation now. To be honest I don't know what to say, but I use different books for 15 years now and it is unclear to me that the BIOS HDD password can be set only.
In the past, I disassembled several machines and changed components of different material such as HDD, RAM, WLAN modules, mainboard even exchange but I have never noticed that BIOS was locked/secured by password only. For me, it is certainly not possible.

As I see that you have made progress using different methods that you found on the net. Maybe you did something wrong and now HDD is blocked. Problem is that the HARD drive password will be written to the HARD disk directly, and if you don't have the right password you will not be able to access.

Sorry but I do not think that anyone here can help you.

Usually, the HARD drive password should work after the replacement of the motherboard.
The fact is that the HARD drive password is stored in a special area of the HARD drive and should not be an issue this motherboard has been replaced.

    Hello

This is a password disk HARD useful summary:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB6B01MC000CR01.htm

_HDD password user and HDD Master Password: __________
There are two levels of password of HDD, HDD user password and the HARD drive password. If two levels of HARD drive password have been registered, you can access the HARD disk by entering one of them. Password of TOSHIBA (TPU) utility supports only the HARD drive password. If you want to register both, open the CONFIGURATION of the BIOS. If the HARD drive password has been saved, the drive HARD master password cannot be saved

My 2 years old Satellite C855-1RP crashed yesterday and now will not start?

I changed the boot parameters to the csm found in the forum, but which does nothing.

Sometimes I have the password for hdd/sdd?
It came pre-installed with Win8 and I don't remember it asks me a password hdd/sdd create Setup?

I checked the disk hard where it was losing, but it's not.
I put a hard drive of a computer dell laptop work in but who had the same answer, don't know if it is compatible if.

Then I put the disc in the computer hard toshiba dell laptop, but the new medial check fail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
All my pictures from my baby for 9 months of birth are on the laptop so I really need to make it work.

If the disk HARD isn t appearing on the first page of the BIOS, it means that the HARD drive was not recognized by the BIOS, and in most cases, this means that the HARD drive is faulty.

From my point of view of a few you need to replace the HARD drive.
Then you must install the new system using the Toshiba recovery media.

In case you have not created this recovery (recovery or USB flash memory stick drive) media in the past, you can try installing the OS using another disc (from Microsoft?)

But where you would choose Win 7 system, you must disable secure in the BIOS startup and you should pass the CSM UEFI.

  • Defective Portege R700M - BIOS & HDD password reset

    Hello

My Portege R700M stopped working after I hit the top. Service center had rejected citing 'Mother, damaged card', the laptop has been installed for the protection of the BIOS for the HARD drive password.

Even if the hard drive is intact, I am not able to recover the data through the BIOS password protection. will be able to help me to unlock the password of Toshiba.

    Concerning

I guess that the motherboard is faulty and will be replaced. I assume that HDD is OK so I think that your original HARD drive will be used again. After the replacement of the motherboard you n t has more need BIOS password. New motherboard will be more determined by BIOS password.

At least explain the situation and Toshiba technicians will explain to you how it works.

    Hello.

My neighbors gave me their cell phone to try to fix it. It just is not under tension.
Place the screen black, blue, white letters:
Please enter the password for HARD drive built-in user:

They told me that it just appeared one day. I can't get into BIOS. There's nothing I can do about it.
I tried to do a search in the forum and found nothing.

Googleing I have readen on similar situations. You have any ideas what I could do?
Maybe it's a broken HARD drive, I could replace it with another.

    Hello

HDD password is NOT BIOS password.
HARD drive password can not be erased if you n t know this password!

If the HARD drive password is unknown, then the HARD drive is useless!

You can buy a new one and replace the HARD drive.

    Good bye

  • Tecra M5 requires more EasyGuard HDD password

    Hi all

I was a complete key and changed some BIOS settings, specific WOL on my laptop. Now, when I try to start I get is more asked for the password (the blue screen with * etc.) but rather a message saying "error loading operating system".

I've tried everything I can think of, but it seems that EasyGuard a death/disabled the startup HARD disk or has infact wiped.

I just tried booting from the XP CD to see if the partitions are intact - I can see two with [Unknown] where it should say NTFS... clearly something to do with the encryption of disk HARD/safety...

Help, please! A quick response would be fantastic!

Did you change or remove the password of HDD in BIOS?

Maybe try to reset the BIOS defaults.
