m8013w overheating - stop - no warning

I've been struggling with this for months.

Randomly, the machine is just off.

I'll be reading email... or reading a web page.  The system shuts down without warning.

The only indication I seem to hear is that the indoor fan is starts faster than usual... takes about 5 minutes... and then POOF!  System shutdown.

I was told that it is probably an overheating problem.

This is common with this model?

I have had it for over 4 years now... and he started to do the last 6 months.

I opened the case to see if there is dust or dirt anywhere, but it's clean.  I took the air compressed and blew the heat-sync block just in case... but nothing seems to help.

Voluntarily, I tried to use HPs tools and testing program.  (Where you can select the tests to run material.)  I ran all the basic tests that will work perfectly... BUT - when I run CPU stress test... about 30% by running - WOW!  Shut down the system again.

It all looks like a heating problem.

What can I do?

I bought a PCI fan and plugged that... but it doesn't seem to help any.  The part of the box does not seem to run hot... It takes just the chip.  I was told to try to re-application of thermal paste.  So I did... and it stops again.  Is there something better?  They are all born equal?  I used the COOLER MASTER ceramic Polysynthetic - gravity 2.37 composed.  If I had another CPU fan, one who turns harder... would only work/aid?

Is my computer CPU shot?

HELLLLLLP!

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Thanks Dave,.

I ran the two separately, and both gave completely different results.  I don't know who to believe!

At least the problem seems to be solved if.  New synchronization of heat & fan does wonders...

The old hardware ran the hot fan speed and boosted significantly under load - which hardly cooled the chip a lot.

This new Hyper TX3 of CoolMaster is GREAT!  A bit big for the space, I had to reverse one of the fans and press the cables pretty tight, but not it's barely more than 42 c at full load.  Much better than the other installation.

If everyone followed this thread - best solution: replace the first CPU fan, or try a heatsync/fan combo.  This is done, the system works like a charm again!

Appreciate all your efforts and Dave escape.  You showed me some new great tools too!

See you soon!

    Hello

I just brought a L30-10 s. I have problems with it overheating and closing down, I burned a cd last night and he just finished it before cut off because it got too hot. If I leave a few minutes it starts normally now but if I try to restart immediately she starts but stops immediately.

Of course, this is not normal?

    Help!

    This is definitely not normal.
According to my experience the high temperature causes a lot of strange problems, and it looks like overheating. Maybe the fans are dirty with dust and debris prevents the runtime properly underway cooling. In my opinion, the fans should be cleaned. Vacuuming is a nice toy but risky because the strong suction can damage fans. Many computer stores provide sprays professional compressed air that can be used to clean the fans.

If this does not help I recommend to contact a technician phone for professional cleaning. Perhaps the new thermal grease which is placed between the CPU and cooling modules could improve the situation.

Note: Don't use the laptop in bed or on the lap, but still on the table. Furthermore it is important to have sufficient free space around the laptop to get good air circulation costs.

    Hope I could help.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Could be heat related - try using a small fan to blow into the air intakes to see if that helps.

  • Tecra S3: Laptop stops due to overheating

Whenenver I run processes of CPU on my laptop, computer base and the table heat sanctioned and the laptop stops without warning after a while.

    What can I do?

    Hi Kersten

May I ask how long do you use this laptop? This issue was in the past?
Mainly of overheating problems occur and are present because don t cooling modules work correctly the dust and debris inside the laptop keeps fans of rotation full implementation, this increases the temperature at the critical level and the laptop stops automatically to prevent the equipment from damage.

So in these cases, it s advisable to check the cooling modules and clean it. Vacuuming may help, but be careful that such procedure could damage the fans!
Then maybe you'll ask a technician or a service partner Toshiba for assistance and a professional cleaning

    Good luck

  • Satellite A205 - stops randomly

My laptop has had random stops without warning. It stops just completely out of nowhere. I noticed that my system hangs as well lately, but I don't know if it is part of the same problem. For example, Firefox would work fine, but when I click on anything either on the taskbar, the taskbar crashes. Meanwhile, Firefox continues at a normal speed. This only happens randomly. I tried the antivirus, spyware scans, disk defragmentation, and CCleaner scans (may be others I'm not remember). I tried to run without the battery to see if that might be the problem, but after 20 minutes of use it stops again. I got it running for three days with no stops, but other days, it stops every 15 minutes. I tried to leave off the computer for the night to be sure that it wasn't just an overheating of long use, but still it happened. He felt hot, and everything seems clean on the inside. I am running:

    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium
    Service Pack 1
    Intel Core 2 CPU T5300, 1.73 GHz
    Memory: 1.00 GB
    System type: 32-bit operating system

I don't know what information could be compared to the problem, but if there is anything I can give to help find a solution, let me know!

Any ideas on what could be the problem? What can I do to fix this? For awhile I was shrugging it off, but since it happened in the middle of tests for classes online I decided that something must be done.

    Thank you for the support,

    Doug

    Hello!

I agree with Akuma. To me it looks like overheating issue too because normally the laptop stops due to a higher internal temperature. This protects the material. Otherwise, the material will be damaged.

To clean the laptop, you can use compressed air jet. This could blow the dust from the cooling fans and therefore you should not disassemble the laptop.
Compressed air spray is very cheap and you can get it from every computer store.

Also if you have installed a non-Toshiba display driver, you must remove it. These drivers don't have protection against overheating and not designed for the mobile graphic display cards.
Then please download and install the Toshiba page display driver.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A200 stops automatically

My Satellite A200 is less than 10 months old, but he started just suddenly stop without warning.
When I try to turn it on again it often does not reach the screen of Vista before turning off again.
Interestingly, when I remove the charger cable, it seems to be able to start and to survive at least for a longer duration.

    Any ideas please?

    Hello

I think that the laptop automatically stops due to a higher internal temperature.
The point is that these books supports protection against overheating and if the temperature increases to a critical level, the laptop stops automatically to prevent material damage.

In most cases air can circulate properly due to clogged cooling grids and therefore the temperature rises to a higher level.
In my opinion the cooling fans should be cleaned.

Compressed air jet is a professional tool that could help you get rid of the dust and debris.

    Welcome them

I contacted the community because my new Sanyo battery would be suddunly and turn off at random, causing of course my Thinkpad X 201 to close.

Here's what I found: aft uf the battery, there is a slide button to lock it once you insert it into the battery tray.

On battery 6cells, simply insert, yo hear a click, and the battery is locked.

On the battery 9 cells (at least on the shot I bought) the sliding button must be moved manually to the "Locked" position If you don't move it, the PC starts normally, but stops abruptly after 10, 30 or 50 min, come anytime.

Problem solved. I hope this can help!
