In addition the macpro allows me to open it in case of failure not the imac. My Macpro 2009 have never fallen to the failure and I could settle breakdowns or map change can open it what I couldn't do with the Imac.

I need advice

The Mac Pro 2012 is almost identical to the 2009 model.

12 - core will run NOT significantly better than the 2009, unless you see ALL your processors fully occupied.

I am an artist and a 3d animator and I always work with 3d, made, video... and I need a more powerful computer now, because on the 3d, Mac users are moving to Windows due to the advantage of the GPU with CUDA...

I would like to ask two things:

-are planning an update or something for Apple's Mac Pro?

-Can I update my Mac Pro 12 hearts? or update with a graphics card more powerful?

    Thank you

-All those here who know the future plans Apple could not reveal that, because of the NDA, they signed.

-Yes, you upgrade to the D700, but that requires to replace two wide boards that contain the GPU and other components. You will find the D700, as Apple does not sell to them.

Nope... but... all I can do is give you my experience. I got a G5 liquid that had major failure 3 times (was under AppleCare) and has been replaced with a Mac pro. I guess you have tried the usual, killer stuff pram resetting the PMU, trying to reinstall and update the operating system and various applications to this topic and all that, and... nothing. Apple does not read or respond to these forums, cmdrDenis, this place is strictly a user forum, and that's all. Save all your receipts, paperwork, document as much as you can and when you talk to Apple or an adviser, be polite, but pragmatic.  Screaming, yelling, Ranting and raving you will get very far.  If you go to apple.com/feedback and leave a comment there, someone can get back to you. Call the main line from Apple can be useful too, but about what, when and how

I can't say. Apple * may *, in its sole discretion, replace a machine that has had too many major repairs, or repair, but it's Apple to do.  Maybe if you call your local Apple place, explain the situation calmly and kindly and ask to speak to another senior consultant or Manager, perhaps they can help you.

  • Rental short term for the Mac Pro Tower - transplant ramdisk hard

    Hello

I am a composer based in the United Kingdom and use round of mid-2010 Mac Pro 8 Core (2 x 2.4 GHz) Intel Xeon with 64 GB RAM and four SSD drives.

I am going to Los Angeles for a project of long months of work in July and need a same computer set up to use while I'm there.  It's too expensive/complicated to ship my computer to the United States, then I'll probably rent a machine in Los Angeles.

I found in a place that I can rent a tower 2012 Mac Pro 12-Core (2.4 GHz) with 16 GB of RAM, and I wondered: if I take my four SSD drives and my RAM modules, then I simply transplant these pieces into the 12 basic machine and start as my home machine?  Or must I buy an additional empty SSD and use the Migration Wizard to clone my main boot drive?

I've never done this before, so I don't know if the boot drive will recognize that it is connected to a computer with a different motherboard etc.

Thanks for any help and advice,

    Laurent

Change the RAM and the disc should be fine. I would take the sleds with your SSD and just slid the old sleigh and do drag in your.

  • 8 GB DIMM modules for early 2008 Mac Pro

I see that OWC is now selling the 8 GB DIMMs for early 2008 Mac Pro (8-core, 3.2 GHz). This leads to the potential total RAM up to 64 GB.

Anyone has any experience of the use of these, or potential problems?

    Thank you!

I would call OWC and ask them. I remember not only here posts on this topic.

However. I myself would buy a chance 2009-2012 in the place and level it. These Mac Pro are the most capable and reliable and 8 GB sticks are 1/3 of the cost of those of 2008.

  • GB c. ' 08 on Mac Pro running

I have an early 2008 Mac Pro 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon and see my favorite program of Garageband of iLife ' 08 launch is no longer here.

I bought the latest version 6.0.5 or Garageband v 11 - it doesn't matter - and tried out.  It was hate at first sight, and I called Apple to request a refund - they did.  Now I use GB ' 08 on my PM G4 and duty to make the file and transfer it to the Intel machine to use in my video projects.  The downside is that I don't have to change it as well and must go back to the G4 - although both are running on the screens side by side, so not so hard.

What I'd like to do, is to find a way to emulate the 08. c on the Mac Pro.  Is it humanly possible to work around the problem?  Without being a genius of writing code?  Maybe some 3rd party software to download?

Insofar as the new version of Garageband, I was put off by the dark interface for beginners.  He seemed to be oriented to customer of techo/rock/hiphop, as I use it more for soundtracks of video production and appreciates the clarity of the old program, as well as my ability to work easily with curls with it.

What version of Mac OS X you are running on your Mac Pro?  If you are under Snow leopard, Rosetta environment (if you have it installed with Snow leopard) must be capable of emulating the PowerPC code, so you should be able to install and run GarageBand ' 08.  With Lion or later Rosetta is no longer available.

  • AHT inconsequential error Ram 4MEM (Mac Pro 4.1)

    Hi all.

Something weird going on here. Evil Finder behave sometimes (especially with the readers of WebDAV connected cloud/external) and Photoshop don't... Well well... strange things. So I thought I would check my material with AHT.

I have a Mac Pro 4.1 / 2.93 GHz Quad with 24 GB of RAM: 2 x 4 and 2 x 8 GB. AHT reports a RAM error (4MEM). So I removed all the DIMMS and test began with the two 4 GB ones and AHT returned an error (4MEM) RAM. When I test both 4 GB modules in AHT 1 and 2 housing reports and a mistake. When I test a single module of 4 GB in slot 1 or 2, I get no error 4MEM. So the two modules installed together DIMMS = error. Installed individually don't = "no found prolems.

In addition, 4MEM errors seem incompatible:

    65/4MEM/40000006: 0X799D7C18

    9/4MEM/40000006: 0X799D2998

Then, I tested all of the 24 GB of RAM with MemTest86 CD but he could not find any problems.

Someone has an idea, what happens?

It would be really good if, when an error has been detected, memory modules would all just dropping dead, problems would be easy to isolate. But this isn't the case. Memory problems are difficult to find, they come and go, it is very difficult to 'catch them in the Act. Synthetic patterns of tests memory do not always generate the same failure that made a running system.

But your money Mac Pro tower with processor Xeon processor uses memory RAM of code of error correction. Modules of memory have eight extra in addition to the 64 data bits control bits, as well as your Xeon processor use on all references to memory.

On writing, permutations of parity on the subsets manufactured with care the data bits are stored in the extra bits '' syndrome. '' On reading, a lot of correction and error detection can occur. Mistakes single-bit are detected and hardware corrects these errors in tense cycle of memory, without any software intervention. Error indicators are read from time to time in the background, and the results are recorded by the memory module.

Generally, a benarde error cannot be corrected, so to design this cause your Mac to stop during a panic machine control, core, often detected by multiple processors to prevent the poisoning of your data.

Errors counters can be read by the memory of the about this Mac report:

    chart de.com

your report will be slightly different, but the information it presents is STATIC - for updated information, you must refresh the report or call it again.

Many tests memory of third parties are not designed to run on a Mac with memory error correction. As simple mistakes are corrected in Hardware on-the-fly, they aren't.

In addition, the error correction is used very aggressively at the start. The reasoning is that the nay errors that occur in these seconds must be so severe that the modules must not be used by the system, and their locations will be marked "void".

Any module that is seen as BAD in any situation is really BAD, even if they suffer later. If your Mac was overheating for a different reason, which may explain why the modules tested bad is perhaps the only excuse. If you eliminate overheating, these modules may be ok later.

  • Is it worth to replace a macbook pro with an old mac pro?

    I have a 13 "macbook pro mid 2012, core i5 2.5 ghz and 4 GB of RAM

I plan to replace an old mac pro with intel xeon 3 GHz dual core or quad (maybe from 2009 or 2010) and slowly upgrade by adding more RAM, sound card, and video, etc. (I won't change the logic board)

Computer will be used for the games, but especially for a music with logic studio Pro X (requires OS X El Capitan)

    It's worth?

OK, now you have 2013MBP 13 inches, and you said topic you will use the computer to do some professional work as a music studio (btw, I somehow like music studio, but I could can't work on that to this life) and games.

and now your account to replace it with a Mac Pro, which is a desktop computer, I have to say that they are in any other product, and you are already thinking on this subject, which means that you don't have to wear it around right? So, personally, I recommend the CHANGE! There?

as you say you only have two choices, keep the macbook pro 13 "or replace with the older generation of the Mac Pro, I would say 13-inch MacBook Pro can almost do anything even the latest generation! since low-votage and integrated dual-core process just crappy graph, I don't really think its meet your needs (Audio Studio, game)

So for you its might be interesting to replace it, but you may need to do the following to make the old gen Mac Pro more "usable".

-Add the Ram, I remember its only accepts DDR2 ram (I think, not really sure, I have never had one of that), but get at least 16 GB of this and will be allowed to use the same sound only DDR2, you need measure the cost dedicated to Rams

-Add the USB3.0 card. I didn't say more on this right? USB2 is somehow too crappy for now, if you need measure the cost of the USB3.0 card.

-Probably to replace the hard drive, its massively improve loading speed if you have a fusion drive or an SSD, its depends on your own needs, if you want to do, then you need measure the cost of training you want to buy.

-Replace the graphics card, its origin have something called AMD X 3100 or wat, really, remember its all just too old even glance at her age. and return at the time its totally new, it is not the series of cards that have the intention of game. According to the info you provided, you have need a map rendering and 3D design professional, but a card game, then you may need to replace it with more recently built AMD or Nvidia graphics card in game, try watching the series Geforce and Rasomething. and theres something that should be mentioned is the old Mac Pro motherboard, is somewhat different with PC on hardware support, so that the graphics card must take in charge the Mac EFI boot or something else. I do not see the HD7970 and the GTX7? 0 mac edition, which works perfectly after replacement, but also of boys randomly announcement that they got the PC normal edition of some cards and put it on the Mac Pro, its can't stand not EFI of Mac Pro type so that they can not see a shit only on the screen while the Startup logo should show, but once finished go , its works perfectly. That's what I've heard, I'm bloody tired and sleepy now (PLUS8 GMT) hope so I made an explanation clear outta giant paragraph. But anyway, because they have tested PC edition graphics card also works on Mac, theres a huge amount of graphics card, you can buy and before you buy, if your not sure if this does not work on Mac, just borrow one of it and test it just outside, or directly, so search for Mac guaranteed Mac-compatitable by manufacturing , you need measure the cost of this.

-Possibly a map HiFi sound taking in charge waves and digital output since your doing audio studio, the price increases a breakfast unique price you can buy a car outta that, then choose the one you want and measure the cost.

-the processor might be still allowed to use and the current level of normal performance, so you can just keep it, but if you want to update, of course, a position which cost.

-The time you go to research / purchase parts/physically change/test this baby. as goes XD.

That's essentially all you need to do if you decide to replace your MacBook Pro 13 "with the Mac Pro, the major concern is the cost of parts, other that neither that complex, just to the top, find open port, insertion/replacement material, FACT, USB3 card possible to require a driver, but all you have to do is click NEXT.

OK, good luck pal and if you blow up your House all by improving the Mac Pro, don't tell anyone I gave you these suggestions ok? XDXD

[Note: this should probably be punted the Hardware section]

You have several choices, depending on things like budget, and if you need/expect commercial support for the card.  The least expensive and most effective option would be to go get MacVidCards on EBay.  Just look for this exact word on EBay and hunt around for its EBay page.  Dave takes on PC nVidia cards and makes them compatible with Mac Pro EFI, so that they can start successfully, view the grey Apple screen and run at full speed.  nVidia will not support that, nor will Apple and retailer of the card or the will.  But, you will have access to cards that have historically been PC only.

On the other end of the spectrum of: grand prize and less performance, you have nVidia Mac-specific maps.  Some of them are listed here.  I would not recommend any of them, but you will get the support of the end user of any manufacturer buy you from.
