MacBook Air case w / '?

SO I wiped my hard drive, so it can be clean. I tried to reinstall OS X Lion, but he says that my hard drive had S.M.A.R.T errors on it and must be replaced immediately. So I went online looked up the hard drive of the same model that was originally in my macbook (model HS082HB) and ordered him. Just got it today and hooked up to the new hard drive for my macbook. When I start my macbook, the sounds of starting lights and then a folder with a questionmark a flashing light appears and flashes just. I tried to restart it and operational command-R and command + P + r folder always flashing... any help? PS My Macbook Air model is A1237

You must use his original USB key, or a House installation one or a Mac OS X DVD to install the operating system. This Mac is too old to use the Internet system Apple recovery.

Can a MacBook Air 11 inches go to 16 GB memory ram?

If this is not the case, what Macbook can go up to 16GB of memory ram?

I prefer to buy the cheapest and then buy my own ram put in me, but I've heard some macbooks now, you cannot install your own memory, must come installed in the factory.

It is not possible to update the RAM after purchase on a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro with Retina display or a MacBook 2015 or newer. Click here for the list of possible RAM maximum for each Mac model.

  • Do I need an antivirus for my MacBook Air

Hi Everybody.I had a problem with my MacBook Air, which is now resolved by a person of technology from Apple that was brilliant. In any case the Lady took my computer and after it had solved the problem, she noticed that I had an Anti virus on my computer program "McAfee, I have free Btinternet" she told me that I have not that Apple is quite safe. Is this true? I was with Windows for years and everyone knows what security is like. A little help please. Thank you. Dave.

As long as you keep a Mac OS X update, do not download software from sources other than the Mac App Store or Developer Web sites, and are not concerned about malware from Windows, it is true.

1 iOS applications can be run on a Mac. If you wish, open iTunes on your computer and download them.

    2. it depends on whether their developers have created versions of Mac OS X; in some cases, you can get them on Web sites, but not in the Mac App Store.

  • MacBook Air Mid 2011 Wifi only next to the Airport Express

    Hey everybody!

These days I have trouble with one of my MacBook Air. I plug a new as my girlfriend needs a job.

Anyway. I have updated to OS X El Capitan and struggle with the wifi. I made an appointment at the Genius Bar closest to you to solve the problems in the system.

As I had to download the OS X on my Mac Pro, I had a problem with the wifi these permissions switch and system information. If you scroll to the installation, there should be a list of installed software. In my case nothing.

After that the genius of Apple erased the disk and started the installation via ethernet with an Apple Server, I got a new version of OS X El Capitan on it. Everything appears fine (system information).

The Wifi worked perfectly in the store.

So, I got not any chance to try at home immediately. Today, I wanted to put the macbook for other facilities. I noticed that the wifi is extremely slow.

I deleted the cache (which does not yet exist). I have reset the starting power setting. I have reset my Airport express from Apple. I changed the DNS to google DNS (8.8.8.8./8.8.4.4.). I too turned off bluetooth.

    All without any modification.

BUT if I'm right in front of the apple express (literally sitting on the router), the wifi works without any problem.

Please, I beg you! I have no idea what to do next. My other Mac Air and pro work perfectly. Any distance. (They have been disabled for testing). iPhone, iPad and Apple TV work fine.

I seem to have this problem with my MacBook, a model of early 2015. What I was told is that the Wi - Fi antenna is nested in the compartment of the screen, located on the edge, practising thus pressure deforms it. Because the body is made of aluminum, the body involuntarily also acts as an antenna, interfere with the Wi - Fi signal. Here are the two plausible reasons why sometimes the signal is lost or slows down, and it made perfect sense to me.

Maybe it's the issue here. If that's the case then I would attribute that to the misconception. I'm sure you can get it fixed, although I don't know how you would seeing that Apple seems to weld their new machines stop.

  • remove the own mac more than macbook air

I don't know whether or not the program called MAC CLEAN PLUS came with my macbook air. I'd like to get rid of it. He appears at his own request to be renewed for a sum as it "scans" of my computer and said the computer have files that must be clean. It is possible that one of my family members or I had downloaded this program and I think that for what I read online is a computer false cleaner / malware app. Please help me. I need the steps to remove it from my macbook air.

General way to uninstall applications is drag and drop it in the trash in the Applications folder. If it doesn't go in the trash, this means that it is open. In this case, you will need to make sure that it is not executed. You can do it from the window of Force quit (Apple - Force quit - highlight the application - Force quit menu). After that, it should go in the trash.

If you see some kind of confirmation that you want to delete the application, click OK.

  • My macbook air keeps building a list of swap file 1.1 GB of files that I have to remove... .because my hd gets stuck. How to stop and cause? Please

This is what it looks like after the removal of all but the swapfile53... (I deleted swapfile1-52) each 1.1 GB

It is excessive swapping of data between physical memory (that is, tokens of memory on the logic board) and virtual memory (one or more files on the boot volume.) This activity is relatively slow and causes the entire system to be less sensitive. It can happen for two reasons:

A process of long duration with a memory leak (a kind of bug)

Not enough memory for your usage pattern

Please note that if the cause is a memory leak, install more memory will not help. It's likely you have already more than 4 GB of memory. Hunt for leaking memory can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.

These instructions are for OS X 10.9 and later versions. Some details may be slightly different for earlier versions of Mac OS X.

When you notice the slowdown, open the activity monitor application, then select all processes in the view menu, if it is not already selected. Select the memory the real Mem of the treatment twice table column header to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you do not see this column, select

View ▹ columns ▹ real memory

    in the menu bar.

If a process (excluding the "kernel_task") uses a lot more memory than all the others, which could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that constantly catches real more memory over time without ever letting go. Here is an example of how it's done.

"Wired" memory should be less than half of the total. That memory is not exchanged, but makes available physical memory that you may then in Exchange. If most of the memory is wired, which can be an indication of a leak memory in a third-party program that modifies the low-level operating system. Ask for advice in this case.

If you do not have a clear memory leak, the options are to install more memory (not possible with a MacBook Air) or less than programs running concurrently.

The following suggestion is reserved for users familiar with the shell. For a more accurate, but potentially misleading test, run the following command:

sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total

where process is the name of a process, you think of a memory leak. Almost every process will cause a memory leak. the question is how, and especially how the leakage increases with time. I can't be more specific. See the manual page leaks (1) and the Apple Developer documentation for more details.

    Using iCloud photo library?

If iCloud library is activated on your iPhone your Mac ad, the devices are synchronized.

All devices are aways showing the same pictures. No matter what picture you add o library of your Mac will sync to your iPhone, and

any item that you delete from the photo library on your iPhone will be removed from all devices. In this case you you deleted the photos and videos you have imported to your Mac by deleting them from the iPhone. You see the same videos and photos on all devices.

  • MacBook Air 11 "(mi-2011) material issue"

Hi, I had a MacBook Air "Core i5" 1.6 11 "(mid-2011) a few months ago by my sister. I'm new to Mac, but I've been fixing PC for more than 20 years. Need a little advice on the model of this issue.

Full specs are here MacBook Air (11 inch, mid 2011) - technical specifications

Short story is that the Macbook Air was dead. After buying the screwdriver specialized to open the macbook air, I managed to get out the internal SSD Flashdrive on but as Apple uses customized connectors I had to buy an external case to test the drive and he was DEAD.

So I installed El Capitan on an EXTERNAL drive plugged into the USB. It's a plus for Apple to initialize external drives and a nice feature.

Once I got the macbook air I found following several breakdowns of equipment.

    1 SSD drive is dead

2 camera and the Microphone is dead. No facetime.

3 the POWER BUTTON is dead and holding down the macbook air will not shut. (I had to unplug the connector from the motherboard) This allowed me to switch on/off the computer buy pulling on the magsafe power supply.

I have been fixing computers based on Windows for decades and never seen so many parts fail both.    WHAT CAN CAUSE THIS?

At first I thought it was the logic board at fault, but I doubt that is the case. I can only assume a power SURGE or something to do as much damage.

I was hoping to get this up and running for my daughter from school to save money, but unfortunately not the case. The price of all the ssd drive is high and he still has a chance to not work if the logic board is also damaged.

THEN AND MATERIAL SPECIALISTS MACBOOK GOT SOME ADVICE?

It's true that to fix the power button that is dead the keyboard needs to be replaced?

Advice would be useful. For now I am able to use with the base of the cover off and the battery disconnected but is now portable way.

    Thank you very much

    cinospotts

Like you, I had business with the PC and computers relatively old. You have quite the list, and you probably answered your own question. I have studied logic board only and lives at $ 200-300 min. purchase from a reliable source of Apple pieces. In my opinion.

Put the Mac Air 2011 all back together and its trade.

  • MacBook Air 5.2 not shut down or restart.

    Hello.

My MacBook Air 13' with OS 10.11.5 won't close (or restart) - usually. I have had this problem since Yosemite, but don't remember exactly under what version it began.

To be more precise: current stop, all icons disappear (as usual), but the image of the Office remains active. I can always start other programs is Finder that is affected. Trying to Force Quit Finder does not help. Repeatedly (say 99 / 100 to give a number) it closed normally, but nothing in fact different... Judge without plugging anything if there's a device problem. Saute all automatic connect points. Cleaned cache and preference files dead (using Cocktail).

What is a way I can follow the Shut Down procedure to see where it falls? Activity monitor?

    Thanks for all advice :-)

Found the solution in an another tread with (almost) the same Air. Uninstalling the Wacom driver (in my case using AppCleaner) solved the problem. I wasn't the way of editing, since the latest driver for my bamboo tablet was the same version I had installed... (5.3.6-6). maybe a new installation works, but for now, I'm better of without the tablet. Thanks to click!

  • MacBook Air SMC 2013 problem

    Hi all

I have a problem with my macbook air 6,2.

The first question concerned the did ' computer t lit.

The SMC reset and things did ordinary ' t help.

I took down the bottom of the case and plugged the battery cable. After that when I plugged in the charger, the computer is activated immediately.

I have taken over the case and restarted the computer, the computer was dead as before.

I ran a hardware diagnostic test and obtained the PPT001 (drums), PFM001 (MSC) and NDC001 (webcam - it's weird because I can use the camera).

Now I turn on the computer without the bottom of the case, but the fans are running high etc..

The adapter led is not lighting, and when I push the SHIFT, ctrl + alt the computer immediately turns off.

Someone at - it an idea of what I can do with this SMC problem?

Make an appointment at the Apple Store - Genius Bar store for the service. If you need a Apple Store - find a store - Apple.

  • Ads pop up on the new MacBook Air. Very frustrating.

I just plug a new MacBook Air on the weekend. I used help migration to transfer my files from one to the other. I think that it might cause a problem because whenever I try to use Safari and click a link, or anywhere on a page, it opens a new tab for a page popup for a betting site or similar. This was also a problem on my old MacBook. I was told that it was just slow. I understand there are a lot of these questions, but I can't find an answer which is quite recent. How can I solve this... Very frustrating and obviously it shouldn't be a virus/malware on a new product so could come from the former? Help!

There are some ideas in a post here:

Re: Redirects to a * site

When you all are migrating a model or OS X, more

These sorts of things can follow. I did not migrate anything, but

move my favorites web page via USB key.

Adware is a possibility. Browser or add-ons - extensions can be

the cause of some strange behaviors. Read the links in another page.

    Good luck in this case!

  • Why my MacBook Air is not restart?

My MacBook Air is a little strange. When I click on the Safari icon, nothing happens. When I clicked through launching pad, it tells me "cannot open the application"Safari"because it is not responding."

When I opened the window force quit, he says the only programs running are Finder and Safari. When I try to force quit Safari, nothing happens.

When I try to reboot, I get the popup "Are you sure you want to restart your computer now?", but when I click on "restart" popup disappears and nothing happens. I wait when the countdown timer and restart on its own, nothing happens.

    Reboot does not work either.

I tried to wait a while. Nothing.

When I try to open Google Chrome, a pop up flashes for about one second, which says something about the interruption of a reboot, then breaks down to Chrome. (Even if I do twice on, in which case you would think restarting had already been interrupted, I still get the same error message and crash)

The two other programs I've tried, Photoshop and Textwranger, opened and closed correctly.

Yesterday and a few days before that, I was getting pop ups warning me that my startup disk was full. I went through and deleted most of My Documents, downloads, and the Desktop files and uninstalled all unnecessary programs.

Yet, he always says I have only 12.58 GB free (120,11 GB). The vast majority of my files (87,73 GB), according to the about this Mac falls into the category of 'other '. So I don't really know which of my files that would be.

I still have a good number of iPhone photos stored in iPhoto. Looks like those who would be present as 'photos' rather than 'other', but maybe not.

I had planned to go to iPhoto external hard drive tomorrow night as soon as I'm on my home (where is my biggest external hard drive).

And then to uninstall Photoshop, I guess the biggest program that I installed it, if I had still not enough available disk space.

But now that same Safari does not work, I'm worried, that it could be more serious that comes to move some files from external hard drives. I use Photoshop a lot, so I prefer not to uninstall, if this is not what is causing the problem.

Dumping iPhoto and Photoshop the best way to go? Or is there something else that would cause the large number of 'other' files and the problems I see.

(It's a MacBook Air (11 inch, early 2014), running OS X Yosemite version 10.10.5, purchased by me summer 2014).

Thanks in advance for any help!
