MacBook Air SMC 2013 problem

Hi all

I have a problem with my macbook air 6,2.

The first question concerned the did ' computer t lit.

The SMC reset and things did ordinary ' t help.

I took down the bottom of the case and plugged the battery cable. After that when I plugged in the charger, the computer is activated immediately.

I have taken over the case and restarted the computer, the computer was dead as before.

I ran a hardware diagnostic test and obtained the PPT001 (drums), PFM001 (MSC) and NDC001 (webcam - it's weird because I can use the camera).

Now I turn on the computer without the bottom of the case, but the fans are running high etc..

The adapter led is not lighting, and when I push the SHIFT, ctrl + alt the computer immediately turns off.

Someone at - it an idea of what I can do with this SMC problem?

  • Office 2016 on MacBook Air (mid-2013)

I'm new to Mac and bought a MacBook Air 11 "(mi-2013)"

I'm considering now the office 2016 but the specs on office.com said requirment is 4 GB of RAM, which is what I have.

Office 2016 will be slow if I have several windows open?

I work usually with up to sessions of the word/PP and a bit of Internet.

If your Air of 2013 has 4 GB of RAM, then consider that OS X El Capitan will need this amount for any reasonable performance for himself. If you try to open multiple desktop applications 2016 simultaneous with several tabs of the browser, your Air will begin to swap memory on the disk to host, and your Air considerably slows down.

You will need to show restraint on what simultaneous applications are launched, and it will be more limited than what you expect.

An Air of 11 inches will help for the screen space with all open applications without the use of an external monitor.

  • MacBook Air Flash storage problem

So I just got a Macbook air mid 2012. It has 128 GB flash storage whilst running the latest Mac OS X Version 10.11.1 and the problem is that it is either showing wrong info or a lot of storage was taken over by something unknown. Apps took more than 50 GB of space even if there is no all the apps that are heavier than Microsoft Word and Excel. Acquired photos 8 GB and 4 GB audio which is totally false because there is not any music in there still. Please guide me in solving this problem.

For more information about the other category in the view of storage, see this support article. If the display appears to be inaccurate, try to rebuild the Spotlight index.

Empty the trash if you don't have it already done. If you use iPhoto, emptying his trash internal everything first:

    ▹ iPhoto empty the trash

    In pictures:

▹ Show of the recently deleted ▹ file delete all

Do the same thing in other applications like Aperture, with an internal feature of the trash. Then, restart the computer. Temporarily, which will free up space.

According to the documentation from Apple, you need at least 8 GB of free space on the boot volume (as shown in the Infolog) for normal operation, not the mythical 10%, 15% or any percentage. You also need enough space to allow the growth of the data over. There is little or no advantage in terms of performance to get more free space than the minimum Apple recommends. Storage space you'll never use is wasted space.

When Time Machine backs up a Mac laptop, some free space will be used to make a snapshots the, who are backups of deleted files recently. The space occupied by the local snapshots is declared as available by the Finder and should be considered as such. In the view of storage of the information system, snapshots appear them as backups. The snapshots are deleted automatically when they expire or when free space becomes less than a certain level. You don't need to usually and should not, remove snapshots them yourself. If you have followed the bad advice to disable snapshots the running a shell command, you may have ended up with a large amount of data in the other category. Ask for instructions in this case.

See this support article for some easy ways to free up storage space. A common waste of space is old backups iTunes to mobile devices. As shown in this support article, select the devices tab in the iTunes preferences window, select the backup that you want to remove and click on delete the backups. Keep at least a backup of each device you use yet.

You can use a tool such OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and discover what is take up space. You can also delete files with it, but not unless you don't know you know what you remove and that all data is stored safely. This means that you have several backups, not one. Note that CESO works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you use an older version of the OS, use GP.

Deletion of files inside a photo library or iTunes will damage the library. Such a library should be changed within the application that created it. It is the same for e-mail files.

Go further than if the problem is not resolved by the steps above.

ODS or GP can not see the whole file system when you run simply by double-clicking; He sees only the files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you must run it as root.

Back up all the data now.

Install the application in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it runs.

Triple-click anywhere in the row of the text below on this page to select it, and then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination.

    For ODS:

    security execute-with-privileges /A*/OmniDiskSweeper.app/*/M*/* 2>&-

    For PMS:

    security execute-with-privileges /A*/GrandPerspective.app/*/M*/* 2>&-

Launch the Terminal application integrated in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

Paste in the Terminal window by pressing command + V. You will be asked for your login password.

The application window opens behind other open windows. When you scan a volume, the window will finally show all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.

I do not recommend that you make a habit of doing. Do not delete anything as root. If something should be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then remove by safer alternatives. If in doubt, leave it alone or ask for advice.

When you are finished with the app, he quit and also to leave Terminal.

  • 21:9 (2560 x 1080) ultra wide screen Macbook Air does not work after macOS Sierra

I have a problem with my LG 29UM58.-p.

After the installation of macOS Sierra Switchresx (4.5.3) isn't my custom resolution 2560 x 1080 more. I already tried to uninstall Switchresx and took new custom resolutions, but it did not help... First of all, it did not save my custom resolutions and then he said no "installed" or "active - invalid? Also, someone said if you made an additional account on your mac and then define custom resolutions, you can then use it in your normal macaccount, but he also didn't work...

I tried (almost) everything... before the update of the software it was working fine.  Oh and also I use HDMI to mini displayport.

Could someone help me out here?

    Thank you very much!

Hey man, same here. That I'm going through exactly the same thing here. I have a MacBook Air from 2013 and just bought the exact same display. I'm on MacOS Sierra.

  • Poor quality of its MacBook Air

Recently I noticed quality bad speaker on the left speaker on my MacBook Air 13.3 (early 2015).

The sound is like white noise whenever I play loud music on my computer but I can only hear it when the bass is low or the highs are high, for example, whenever listening to someone talking, "s" sounds are white noise.

I usually clean my computer (keyboard, trackpad, etc.) with a damp cloth. Water could go in the left speaker, and that's why he sounds bad?

In addition, my computer is a little crack. Could that also change the quality of the left speaker?

    Hi edvardsoz!

I understand the only pregnant left your MacBook Air seems to have a problem with the sound quality.  I can certainly understand wanting to have speakers of your MacBook Air works correctly, and I'm happy to help you.  Please follow the instructions in the following article to reset your MacBook Air SMC and NVRAM.  Insofar as a noise grinding, I don't think that would be related to problems of speaker, you may have.  It may be best to have diagnosed in person, so I have included a link to help locate close to Apple stores and authorized service providers as well.

I bought a 2012 refurbished MacBook Air in 2013 and through the last 2 years I have gone through approximately 484 cycles of battery. The popup of the Service battery indicates that your battery needs replacement. You can always use the battery being, however it will not last as long as expected by Apple. You will need to make an appointment-genius bar and take the MacBook Air to your store local Apple to get the battery replaced if you do not want to do, but unless the MacBook is still under warranty, it will cost $129 + tax, as shown below. • iCloud not synchronized completely with MacBook Air

I'm running OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan on my MacBook Air (end 2013) and the iOS9.3.5 on my iPhone 5. Have also, incidentally, Apple Watch. Use iCloud for Notes, but could not get the Notes appear on my Mac. Signed Notes and back with Apple ID on the Mac, but the cursor just whirs around. Have the same Apple ID on all devices. Research in the system for software services log I see that sort of thing:

  • Part number of MacBook Pro late 2013 SSD

    Hello

I have acquired a used MacBook Pro late 2013 (A1502 - EMC 2678) a few months ago, in which the DSS had been removed.

I knew that I had to replace the SSD when I bought this MacBook and found on the ifixit site that I had to buy an SSD with a part number in this list: 661-1838, 661-8136, 661-8138 (256 GB SSD).

"I've finally found one on Amazon Market place, and the SSD was announced as follows:" (661-8136, 661-8138) 256 GB Solid State Drive - Apple MacBook Pro 13 retina "A1502 / 15" A1398 (end of 2013, mid-2014).

But when I got the SSD, I noticed that the part number is printed on it is '655-1803D", which is the part number for MacBook Air Mid 2013 - 2015 SSD.

I contacted the seller to an Exchange, thinking that they had sent the wrong item, but he told me that the product was properly advertised on Amazon and showed me his description which indicates that following:

    Identification numbers:

    -Apple part No.: 661-8136, 661-8138

    -The printed part #: 655-1803, 655-1817, 655-1838

    -Manufacturer B21: MZ-JPU256T / 0 *, SD6PQ4M - 256G, THNSN2256GSPS

    So my questions are:

"Print" (those that appear on the SSD) part numbers are supposed to be the same as the Apple part number, or they are independent of each other?

Are SSD with part number cell phones compatible with MacBook pro computers A1502 655-1803 ' printed'?

    Thank you.

If it is, in fact, a number of part of Apple on the outside label of the SSD it should be certified by the manufacturer to run in an Apple/Mac products. SSD information displays the drive model number in disk label utility. These Apple Certified SSD will run through multiple products of Macbook. I hope this helps.

    Bravo!

  • Can I reset my MacBook Air and restore the backup I made before to reduce others' storage space?

    Hello

so I have the 126 GB MacBook Air. My problem is that the other takes 87 GB!

So can I reset my laptop and restore the backup later like you do with iPhones to reduce the "other"?

I guess this could work, but I'm afraid something away...

I hope that there is someone who can help me!

    Thank you!

There is nothing necessarily wrong with 'other' as long it's documents, etc. that you need.

Make a backup and a restore just grow what you have now. I would not recommend it.

  • I lost some / most of my passwords in Safari on my Macbook Air, but Safari is always auto them on my iPhone, so they must always be stored somewhere, is possible to restore these passwords?

In recent weeks, I noticed that my computer was storing the password and Safari auto-fill on a variety of Web sites seem to have disappeared from my computer. I never typed this passwords in my laptop (macbook air mid-2013), so for them to auto-fill on my phone, they must have been stored in the cloud, right? So is there a way to recover passwords on my laptop? I can't figure out a way to find a place to understand where these passwords are still stored so that I can get back them on my laptop that has no access to these passwords.

    Thanks for your help.

    Do you use iCloud keychain?

  • MacBook Air stuck in the installation during the upgrade to windows 7 to 8

I have windows 7 installed on my macbook air and today I got windows 8 pro upgrade for upgrading my macbook air to windows 8 and made sure I had bootcamp 5 installed. the first time I tried to install it went well until I got to the section where it says customize when you start windows 8 and none of my keys or trackpad work in it, I can't get past the section even pressing on enter. the second time I tried to install trackpad ++ is supposed to be the best driver to trackpad for windows 7 and 8 and thought that could make me past the Customize step and who does not. and I went as far to plug my usb wireless mouse that works with windows 7 and tried at my friends House who has windows 8 and y and the custom still mouse appear.  What should I do to get my trackpad work / what can I do to get past the custom screen. If I turn off my macbook air and then when I restart it says windows 8 installation failed, return to the original windows operating system (windows 8)

    (the preferences screen)

-p.s. I write this on another computer and my mac is a macbook air mid 2013 with all installed bootcamp drivers

This seems to be a known issue with trackpad Apple for Windows drivers and apparently only for Air. It is recommended to plug in a USB mouse, go into Device Manager and disable the devices on trackpad (Apple Multitouch and Apple Multitouch mouse under Interface devices), install the updates, restart the PC and then re-enable these devices. (then you can detach the USB mouse).
