Macbook pro to a jet m1212nf laser printer scan

Hello

I'm trying to scan from a LaserJet M1212nf MFP to a MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion.

I installed the latest LaserJet driver from the HP website. Can I print using a USB connection. However I can not scan. If I open the HP Director, by clicking on the button Scan does nothing. If I open HP Scan I get a message: "no scanner available."

I'm lost. Please can you help me?

Thank you very much.

I would recommend that download us the driver via Apple Software Update.

Before we do that, we want to uninstall all incompatible software, you may have installed on your computer by running the uninstall HP program located under Applications > HP or Hewlett-Packard folder.

After you do this, we want to download the drivers. The drivers for your product are available via Apple Software Update.

First and foremost, temporarily disconnect the cable USB from the printer to the printer or the computer. Then look for any HP Update available by clicking the Apple icon, updated software.

If no update could not be found, download the complete Apple HP printer drivers v.2.14:

Printer HP v.2.14 for OS X drivers

http://support.Apple.com/downloads/DL907/en_US/HPPrinterDrivers2.14.dmg

Once you have completed the installation, you can plug your printer back in. After that the printer is reconnected, go into the settings to print under system preferences > print & scanning. To add the printer, click on the plus sign. You should see your printer listed here. Select it. If under the printer, see "use:  Make sure that tells the name of the printer and not AirPrint. Click on add down in the lower right.

Good luck

  • MacBook Pro wired C7280 Wireless: unable to print again

I posted a couple of months on our printing problems to our C7280:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/printer-networking-and-wireless/no-longer-able-to-print-from-wireless-M...

PrintDoc suggestion, allowed us to come back in business - thanks again!

Since then, we have had several hiccups since then, but I had always been able to get back in business... until now.

Here is our set - up:

Printer: The Photosmart C7280 all-in-One, connected to the network via Ethernet, IP 192.168.1.5 (confirmed with the network Menu > view network settings > display wired summary)

Router: Verizon/Actiontec MI424-WR (Verizon FiOS) with

    * Ethernet ports

    * 802. 11B and 11 g with WPA encryption

Desktop computer: iMac with Mac OS 10.5.8, Ethernet connection.  I initially installed the HP from the CD software when we arrived the 7280 a few years ago, but we've probably updated since then.

My laptop: MacBook Pro with Mac OS 10.5.8 (now 10.6.4) originally, free Wi - Fi.  I think that the HP software has been downloaded originally from hp.com (rather than the original CD).

Woman's cell phone: MacBook with Mac OS 10.6.3 (it could be updated to 10.6.4 now), Wi - Fi, using printer drivers provided by 10.6.

After we did our initial problem, I had frequently jobs on the MacBook Pro, which seems stuck at half way through.  I follow these instructions:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02205477

I would usually get stuck on the Solution 3, Wired/wireless network level 8 - after having clicked on the Add button, the printer was supposed to appear, but he would not.  I would like to get around it by resetting the printer as PrintDoc suggested system; After that, I could add the printer again, and I was good to go.

Except that now that work anymore - I still don't see the printer when I click on the Add button, even after resetting the system to the printer and restarted.

Since then, I * think * I tried everything: removal of print queues, resetting the system printer, uninstall and reinstall the software of HP, power cycle the printer, but I still cannot add the printer.

The iMac with the Ethernet connection works fine.

I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to 10.5.8 to 10.6.4.  I knew that 10.6 came with the HP drivers, so I uninstalled the older HP software and attempted to add the printer again - could not yet see the printer, even though I can ping it.

Now my wife can not print on his MacBook either, although I have no start troubleshooting that yet.

I'm puzzled and frustrated, and I don't know what to try next.  Any suggestions?

First - a really great post with the perfect level of detail.  Thank you for that.  I read so many messages "my printer does not print" as it is refreshing.  Thank you.

We'll pick on the HP software.  If you had it on your computer before 10.6, uninstall you it with the option "scrubber" (holding cntl-opt-cmd)?  Otherwise, re-instlall on the CD and run the uninstaller with this option.

If you had already done, then we will then pick on your router.

  • Jet P1102w laser: Printer USB connection error

    Hello

Whenever I have try to plug the USB into my computer to print something a message pop up to say will "the device you connected is not readable by this computor" it has two options - ignore or eject. If I ignore the message, the printer seems to be offline. If I ejected, well, it is ejected.

My computer is not the only one experiencing this problem. Two other laptops have been discovered to get the same message. They are all three Macbooks.

We've had this printer for two years now and it has just started to happen. The printer also has many other issues that we pushed through, and it seems unfortunate to stop on it now; Help, please.

    Thank you!

    Greetings @KirsiAS,

Thank you access the Forums from HP Support for extra support! I see that you have problems with the printer is recognized. I will do my best to help you with this problem.

Something on the Mac is to recognize the printer such as a hard drive. Because the printer has a feature called Smart Install, which installs only the printing automatically on Windows software.

Try unplugging everything, make a full stop down on the printer, and then connect the USB cable to a Mac, while the printer is still off, then start the printer.

You have Parallels installed on the Mac?

Temporarily disable Parallels, for the Smart Install is recognized on the Mac.

If you do not have Parallels, then we will need to turn off Smart Install to install the printer on the Mac.

If this helps you to find a solution, please click on the button "accept as a Solution. If you wish, to say thank you for my effort to help, click on the 'Thumbs Up' to give me a Kudos. Please let me know the results. Good day!

  • HP jet p1102w laser: printing on hp laserjet p1102w error

When I come back to print from my iPhone and iPad the printer says error could bot print I have tried reseting cartridge changing power rest but he didn't he had printed one page and display the error message please help

    Hi MohamedAlaa,

After that you went through the second step: print a Self Test / Configuration Page of the device. When she printed it showed an IP address? He mentioned that if something is not on the sheet?

In the meantime, please see this post, iPhone & iPad can't Airprint for LaserJet p1102w, by @VisionAiry. To make sure the firmware on the printer is up-to-date.

Once done, go through this guide once again, setting up the printer on a wireless network for the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer. To reconnect to the network. You have to turn on all devices again later and check that they are all on the same network!

Hope this works for you and have a nice day!

  • HP Jet P1102w Laser printer

The red bar that the book goes... is red hot right now and the paper smokes when he passes by... WhatsUp?

    Hello betya.

You may be confusing the smoke with steam or moisture. Very thick smoke and stay in the air for a while or should quickly dispel?

This article explains in detail the question if it is a question of steam.

HP LaserJet printers - printer emits steam or moisture

Heat and humidity, created by the printing process dissipate through the vents at the back of the product, or by an internal fan. Moisture can sometimes appear on the trailing edge of the book on jobs in small print.

The amount of moisture is low, even if it is visible. When the paper is released from the product, small water droplets are sometimes deposited on the trailing edge of the paper. In a few minutes, the paper moisture evaporates. Once the moisture evaporates, the paper is not warped somehow.

What should I do and how can I solve this problem?

    Thank you!

    Hello

To eliminate any hardware failure, you can copy from the charger of document without any problem?

If the ADF is working as intended by the hardware, the issue most likely related to the communication between your PC and the device.

If the response of material as planned, please try following this tool by selecting the difficulty of analysis:

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/Printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe

If the problem persists, I suggest ensuring that the USB is connected directly to a port on the back of your PC and not via a USB hub or extension, so make sure that the cable is not longer than 2 meters in length.

I also suggest to try a different port on your PC and check differences.

If it persists, can you see any difference in trying another USB cable?

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: MacBook Pro does not print wirelessly for Officejet Pro 6830

I used to have an old HP Officejet 7210 who was once able to print wirelessly from my MacBook pro, but at some point, wasn't able to do wireless and had to print with usb connection.

For Black Friday, we bought an Officejet Pro 6830 and on internet I downloaded the latest driver for my MacBook Pro and my windows laptop of wifes and our desktop PC. The mobile office and windows had no problem, but once more, I was not able to print wireless from the MacBook Pro. When I try to print wireless the printer dialogue indicates he's trying to deal with and then it says "the printer is currently in use". So I'll still have to plug the USB to print with this new printer is less than a month.

I was able to print the wireless test page and he noted that the test page bypassed print drivers. In addition, I am able to go into the printer utilities and see how much ink, I have and the various settings of the printer but I just cannot print documents from applications wireless.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hello

First of all, do not forget to reboot your router by unplugging its power for a while, then let it 2-3 minutes to reboot and restart the printer.

Make sure that the printer is connected wireless and blue wire it light.

Try now to go to System Preferences > print & scan and click on the sign more. you see the printer listed?

May you had prior display the problem started with your previous printer? for example a new router, changes of settings, etc. ?

How can I remove Air Print. I have a Macbook Pro Maverick 10.9.4. HP Scan version 4.1.1. I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 (909 a) that connects wireless as well to the Terminal Airport and the MacBook Pro, but when you try to print from the MacBook Pro (running OS X Tiger 10.4.11), MacBook Pro print job displays a message "printer is busy, try again in 30 seconds".  Network is configured with DHCP router 10.0.1.1 (gateway) with printer to 10.0.1.2 and MacBook Pro to 10.0.1.3.  MacBook Pro can traceroute and ping gateway and printer, the network printer in the test passes.  HP software is installed and running by USB cable between the printer and the laptop.  No idea why the print job hangs after running?  HP printer was installed from preferences Print & Fax as an IPP printer.

Try to add the printer to print & Fax HP Jetdirect-taking rather than PPI, then check all difference.

    Hello

I have a HP Deskjet F4283, I have used successfully and without any problems on my previous MacBook. I have recently replaced the computer with a new MacBook Pro, installed the software of the printer, but for some reason any that it does not work.

I uninstalled and re-intalled, downloaded updates online and all this when I try to print is nothing.

Any ideas anyone?... seems silly to buy a new printed when it is in fact always very well.

  • Use of laser Jet 1320 2005 with 2012 MacBook Pro: POSSIBLE?

    Hello

I have a HP Laser Jet 1320. It is old but works perfectly. At least he did with my Apple PowerBook G4.

Now, I have a MacBook Pro with Panther.

The MacBook Pro "is" not the operating system in the Laser Jet 1320.

Can it be fixed through connections? Or is this now obsolete printer as was my G4?

    Thank you!

    Venice

    Hello Venice,

By your statement your new Macbook pro has Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther), which does not seems reasonable as Panther support only the PowerPC proccessors so that all the latest Mac computers use only Intel proccessors.

Please click on the Apple icon, then click on about this Mac.

What is the version number listed? (I guess Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion))

For the Lion, the software provided by Apple Software Update, however please specify first the version of the OS, so I will be able to provide you with the exact according to steps.

    Kind regards

  • Color Laser JEt MFP M477fd Pro: automatic update of ruined printers print

My new laser Jet worked very well until I followed the instructions on the printer for an automatic update. Now print is ruined. Page layout is described in gray, and look bad color photos. This happened DIRECTLY after that I said yes to the screen to update printer on the printer itself. I did not change my Mac.

I tried closing printer, computer shutdown, and then restart the printer, then restart the computer.

The Configuration report (can barely read.) Firmware Datacode says: 20160331, which is apparently the most recent printing for my model software.

    I'm on a Mac 10.10

Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M477fdw, bought end of 2015.

The printer was so easy to set up and worked wonders for 200 pages that I sent to him so far, until I said yes to an update. Wish really to say yes to that, but I just assumed it would work as well as everything else.

Thank you for your help to solve this.

After trying countless things, including uninstalling and reinstalling the printer and download the latest driver, I called Technical Support. The number is on the internet, not on HP. 800-334-5144 where you need it. They continue to try to trick you online, but eventually, you get to someone who can help.

When I described the print results, I was getting, she had me do the cleaning Page, 3 x and 3 x color calibration, which corrects the problem.

The problem of updating firmware with the trainer, is what I * think * she said.

If your printer works fine... DON'T let NOT download an update.

It has been long since I've owned a laser printer. Lesson learned. Thank you, Natasha.
