MacBook Pro wired C7280 Wireless: unable to print again

I posted a couple of months on our printing problems to our C7280:

http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/printer-networking-and-wireless/no-longer-able-to-print-from-wireless-M...

PrintDoc suggestion, allowed us to come back in business - thanks again!

Since then, we have had several hiccups since then, but I had always been able to get back in business... until now.

Here is our set - up:

Printer: The Photosmart C7280 all-in-One, connected to the network via Ethernet, IP 192.168.1.5 (confirmed with the network Menu > view network settings > display wired summary)

Router: Verizon/Actiontec MI424-WR (Verizon FiOS) with

* Ethernet ports

* 802. 11B and 11 g with WPA encryption

Desktop computer: iMac with Mac OS 10.5.8, Ethernet connection.  I initially installed the HP from the CD software when we arrived the 7280 a few years ago, but we've probably updated since then.

My laptop: MacBook Pro with Mac OS 10.5.8 (now 10.6.4) originally, free Wi - Fi.  I think that the HP software has been downloaded originally from hp.com (rather than the original CD).

Woman's cell phone: MacBook with Mac OS 10.6.3 (it could be updated to 10.6.4 now), Wi - Fi, using printer drivers provided by 10.6.

After we did our initial problem, I had frequently jobs on the MacBook Pro, which seems stuck at half way through.  I follow these instructions:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02205477

I would usually get stuck on the Solution 3, Wired/wireless network level 8 - after having clicked on the Add button, the printer was supposed to appear, but he would not.  I would like to get around it by resetting the printer as PrintDoc suggested system; After that, I could add the printer again, and I was good to go.

Except that now that work anymore - I still don't see the printer when I click on the Add button, even after resetting the system to the printer and restarted.

Since then, I * think * I tried everything: removal of print queues, resetting the system printer, uninstall and reinstall the software of HP, power cycle the printer, but I still cannot add the printer.

The iMac with the Ethernet connection works fine.

I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to 10.5.8 to 10.6.4.  I knew that 10.6 came with the HP drivers, so I uninstalled the older HP software and attempted to add the printer again - could not yet see the printer, even though I can ping it.

Now my wife can not print on his MacBook either, although I have no start troubleshooting that yet.

I'm puzzled and frustrated, and I don't know what to try next.  Any suggestions?

First - a really great post with the perfect level of detail.  Thank you for that.  I read so many messages "my printer does not print" as it is refreshing.  Thank you.

We'll pick on the HP software.  If you had it on your computer before 10.6, uninstall you it with the option "scrubber" (holding cntl-opt-cmd)?  Otherwise, re-instlall on the CD and run the uninstaller with this option.

If you had already done, then we will then pick on your router.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless: Unable to print labels on my HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless color inkjet printer

    Hello Forum,

I don't want to appear redundant, however, I always have the same problem, cannot print on different media (for example. Labels, Matt / glossy papers, etc.) other than plain white paper. As I said in my original post (below), I tried different settings, different programs, etc., without any result. The printer does that pass through without printing media, leaving the error / blinking yellow light.

I believe that this printer is able to manage different media other than paper white just to 'stick '. Again, I ask your help to solve this problem. It is and has been, very frustrating trying to overcome this restriction of printing!

    Thank you all!

    (Original post)

I can't get my HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless inkjet color printer to print CD / DVD labels. I have tried various printer / paper options but the printer just feeds the media (in this case 'Fellows' brand matte CD 2-top) then spits it right back with result error amber light flashing.

Printing has a sensor that determines if the paper is loaded and feeding properly into the printer.  If you print on media that is colored or printed features we can confuse the sensor.

One thing to try - cut a strip of the sticky part of a post-it note maybe 1 "wide by 1/4".  Attach it to the top left of the sheet of labels on the side to be printed, the long side on the short side of the paper.  This will then put face down into the printer, with the band on the upper right of the tray paper.  After printing, you can remove it and reuse it for the next page.

  • Macbook pro to a jet m1212nf laser printer scan

    Hello

I'm trying to scan from a LaserJet M1212nf MFP to a MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion.

I installed the latest LaserJet driver from the HP website. Can I print using a USB connection. However I can not scan. If I open the HP Director, by clicking on the button Scan does nothing. If I open HP Scan I get a message: "no scanner available."

I'm lost. Please can you help me?

    Thank you very much.

I would recommend that download us the driver via Apple Software Update.

Before we do that, we want to uninstall all incompatible software, you may have installed on your computer by running the uninstall HP program located under Applications > HP or Hewlett-Packard folder.

After you do this, we want to download the drivers. The drivers for your product are available via Apple Software Update.

First and foremost, temporarily disconnect the cable USB from the printer to the printer or the computer. Then look for any HP Update available by clicking the Apple icon, updated software.

If no update could not be found, download the complete Apple HP printer drivers v.2.14:

Printer HP v.2.14 for OS X drivers

    http://support.Apple.com/downloads/DL907/en_US/HPPrinterDrivers2.14.dmg

Once you have completed the installation, you can plug your printer back in. After that the printer is reconnected, go into the settings to print under system preferences > print & scanning. To add the printer, click on the plus sign. You should see your printer listed here. Select it. If under the printer, see "use:  Make sure that tells the name of the printer and not AirPrint. Click on add down in the lower right.

    Good luck

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: MacBook Pro does not print wirelessly for Officejet Pro 6830

I used to have an old HP Officejet 7210 who was once able to print wirelessly from my MacBook pro, but at some point, wasn't able to do wireless and had to print with usb connection.

For Black Friday, we bought an Officejet Pro 6830 and on internet I downloaded the latest driver for my MacBook Pro and my windows laptop of wifes and our desktop PC. The mobile office and windows had no problem, but once more, I was not able to print wireless from the MacBook Pro. When I try to print wireless the printer dialogue indicates he's trying to deal with and then it says "the printer is currently in use". So I'll still have to plug the USB to print with this new printer is less than a month.

I was able to print the wireless test page and he noted that the test page bypassed print drivers. In addition, I am able to go into the printer utilities and see how much ink, I have and the various settings of the printer but I just cannot print documents from applications wireless.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • OfficeJet 8500 has 910: Macbook Pro won't find my Officejet Pro 8500 printer

Until recently, my Officejet 8500 910 has worked very well with my Macbook Pro, desktop computer wireless Mac and iPad.  Now, it will not be printed with any of these devices. Yesterday, he worked with my iPad, but today it says that it cannot find the printer. On my Macbook and desktop computer, it is impossible to find the printer when I try to add.  You can find the scanner and fax part of my all-in-one, but not the printer. I deleted all my printers and tried to add this back.  I've stopped and restarted. I checked that my printer is connected.

I have same thing happened with a HP wireless printer in the 8600 series to work.  Sometimes he would find and connect.  Other times, it wouldn't. I appreciate all help.  Thank you!

    Hey @Jeanne33,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I see that your Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-One Printer does not appear on your network. I can help you with that.

    1. As you only use Apple products means that the printer is no longer connected to your network or a parameter has been changed on your network. That being said, this is what we will do:
      Turn the printer off.
    2. While the printer is off, remove the power cord at the back of the router for a minute.
    3. When the lights came on the router, turn on the printer.
    4. Try to print.

At this point if you are not able to print, then we will do the following:

    1. On the printer, click on Configuration, network and wireless view summary.
    2. If you see a line indicating connected the printer is properly connected to the network. If this is not the case, then, from the main screen, click on Configuration, network and wireless configuration wizard to add the printer to your network. Try once done printing.

At this point, you should be able to print. If the printer still doesn't seem to add as a device for the Mac or appear on any other device and then you have a setting on the router that has changed. Your best option would be to communicate with the person who is provided with the router and ask them to do the following:

    • Open all ports.
    • Select multicast.
    • Disable MAC filtering/MAC cloning.
    • Disable the guest network
    • Make sure that the router has a band of 2.4 GHz.

Please let me know if this allows you to print or if you have any other questions. If not, have a great day!

If this solves your problem, then please help others find this post by clicking on accept as Solution on my post.

If you appreciate my help, so please let others know by clicking on the icon below my post thumbs up.

  • Use of printer OfficeJet Pro 8500 crashes with the message "printer busy."

I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 (909 a) that connects wireless as well to the Terminal Airport and the MacBook Pro, but when you try to print from the MacBook Pro (running OS X Tiger 10.4.11), MacBook Pro print job displays a message "printer is busy, try again in 30 seconds".  Network is configured with DHCP router 10.0.1.1 (gateway) with printer to 10.0.1.2 and MacBook Pro to 10.0.1.3.  MacBook Pro can traceroute and ping gateway and printer, the network printer in the test passes.  HP software is installed and running by USB cable between the printer and the laptop.  No idea why the print job hangs after running?  HP printer was installed from preferences Print & Fax as an IPP printer.

    Hello

Try to add the printer to print & Fax HP Jetdirect-taking rather than PPI, then check all difference.

    Two other suggestions.
Search your computer for any virus/malware completely. This site has some good information and instructions.
    http://www.selectrealsecurity.com/malware-removal-Guide/

You can also consider walking to IE 8.
Start > Control Panel > programs and features > installed updates > select IE 9, then uninstall.

Note: If you have installed SP1 after IE9 has been installed you must first uninstall it. If SP1 has been installed first, you should be good to go (I did several times).

    I hope this helps.

  • Is no longer able to print from MacBook Pro Wireless to wired C7280

I've been grafted this on an existing thread, thinking it was the same question.  Looks like it was something else now, so I thought I should probably for this spin-off on its own thread.

    Details:

Printer: The Photosmart C7280 all-in-One, connected to the network via Ethernet, IP 192.168.1.5 (confirmed with the network Menu > view network settings > display wired summary)

Router: Verizon/Actiontec MI424-WR (Verizon FiOS) with

    * Ethernet ports

    * 802. 11B and 11 g with WPA encryption

Desktop computer: iMac with Mac OS 10.5.8, Ethernet connection.  I initially installed the HP from the CD software when we arrived the 7280 a few years ago, but we've probably updated since then.

My laptop: MacBook Pro with Mac OS 10.5.8, WiFi.  I think that the HP software has been downloaded originally from hp.com (rather than the original CD).

Mobile woman: MacBook with Mac OS 10.6.3 free Wi - Fi.  Downloaded HP software from hp.com.

We have been able to print from laptops on the 7280 until several days ago.  After that, whatever it is sent by laptops remained on the queue of the printer without any reaction from the printer, even after the usual stuff (electric bike on printers, printers pausing and unpausing, holding jobs and unholding, etc..)

Our laptops seem to lose wireless connection a bit more frequently than normal, and at first I thought it was the problem.  Lately, however, can't do anything to print even when wireless connection remains strong.  I can print from iMac, however.

As stated above, my wife MacBook has 10.6.3, so I'll try instructions on other threads to uninstall the HP software and using the built-in 10.6 drivers.  If I can lift the MacBook from my wife long enough :-)

During this time, I tried to troubleshoot my MacBook Pro.  I can ping 192.168.1.5, and I can pull up the printer web page by entering '192.168.1.5' in my web browser.

So I followed the instructions here:

    e http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam = c01893662 & tmp_task = solveCategory & lc = en & dlc = en & c...

(title: Mac OS X: print jobs are stuck in the print queue and Will not print on a network product)

I followed the Solution 1 (remove and readd printer) until I got to steps 7 and 8.  The printer has not been automatically added to the list of printers, so I clicked on the Add button, but was not able to choose my printer in the list.  Some information contained in Solution 2 seemed to hint that I had a connectivity issue and suggested that I look for network connectivity solutions.  Unfortunately, all network connectivity as Windows-specific utility called FAQ, so I decided to uninstall the HP software (using Uninstall HP).  I downloaded HP_Installer_PSC7200_v9.7.1.dmg to hp.com and ran to her, but here's what happened:

    • To step select the device, no device appears even if the printer is turned on and on the network.  (As noted earlier, I can ping it.)  I checked "my device is not listed" and clicked on continue; When "Photosmart C7200 series" appeared, I chose it.
    • In the subset "Select device connection", I chose "network". (The "device" in this question is the printer - right?)
    • I went through the step of the installation.
    • No device has been registered at the configuration stage.  I have it handled in the same way that step select the device ("my device isn't", continue, click on 'Photosmart C7200 series' continue, 'Network', continue.)
    • This time, I got this dialog box: "If your device is not listed, it is not supported by the installer.  Please visit www.hp.com/support to download an installer, if available"even if it was the correct Installer for C7200 and Mac 10.5.

I forgot something?  What should I try next?

It seems that the printer is OK and that it is on the network.  You can optionally set a static IP for it, but we will do things first.

The first thing I would try would be to reset the printing system on all the Macs in the problem:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Right (Ctrl) click the box of the print queue and select Reset Printing System.
-Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

If it's not it there may be something to do with the router.  I have some ideas, if necessary.  Let me know.

  • Print to C4700 wireless is more than MacBook Pro 10.6.2

Sometimes this weekend my wife and I were more able to print on our our Macs C4700 wireless printer.  We have all two Proa MacBook with OS 10.6.2.  However, I am able to print the printer test pages AND I am able to print to the printer on my Linux laptop.

So, it doesn't seem to be a problem with the printer, but rather the mac drivers?  In fact, within the HP utility test page indicates that the page will be sent directly to the printer without the driver and any other system of treatment.  It seems that since the test page printed fine there must be a problem both of our Macs, printing systems.

I removed and added the C4700 printer several times and this has not solved the problem.  In fact, much of the time when I am trying to add the printer on MacBook Pro Hello my wife of NOT find the C4700 printer.  It's to find the Scanner C4700 but not the printer.  Sometimes, I had to resort to using the IP address and the host name to add the printer.  I can find the printer on my wireless network and access its state information within the HP utility on our Macs and the web page of the printer.  In addition, as I said before, I am able to print wireless using my Linux laptop.

When I try to print, I get a connected to a printer message in my queue and after a while, it goes to idle.  Nothing is printed.

This printer has worked for a few months.  In addition, I've been on OS 10.6.2 since BEFORE I had the C4700.  I'm not sure when the C4700 stopped printing, but it seems to have started at least over this last weekend.  I have another printer HP (Officejet 6300 series) with a wired network and we are both able to print to this printer very well.  It's ONLY my wireless C4700 printer.

What can I do?  I am all of these ideas.  I don't seem to remember in the last days of ran my update of the software for laptop and I think I remember HP printer updated driver.  The latest driver updates may have caused this problem?  I'm grabbing at straws here.  I do not understand what could have happened?

Any help is appreciated.  Thank you!

It's very strange.  I strongly suspect something in your Mac.  Did you do a permissions repair (Applications > utilities > disk utility)?  Select your hard drive, then click on "repair disk permissions".  Maybe try to download the drivers OS X Apple?

In addition, have you restarted your router and checked that it has the latest firmware?

I'm running out of ideas, will you?
