  Thanks for providing the excellent screenshots. The CD is used for different models, the P1100 is your printer series.

  Turn on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation. The USB cable should not be more then 6 feet. Make sure that the USB cable is connected directly to the computer. (not a station or a hub) Try a different USB port on the computer.

  This can also occur when the printer is already recognized as the USB connection and windows does not yet detect.

  Remove the USB cable plugged in, remove the printer in the devices and printers (if the list) and the Device Manager.

  To access the Device Manager:

  Press the windows key and press X on the keyboard at the same time in the office.

  Then click on Device Manager in the list.

  Verify that the connections in Device Manager for the entries of the printer, under Bus USB controllers are looking for USB, Mass Storage Device print media or anything with a yellow exclamation point or an unknown device. Right click and uninstall the device. Then reconnect the USB cable and it must be detectable again.

  If you're still having problems, unplug the USB cable, run uninstall and reinstall the printer software again. Do not connect the USB cable until you are prompted during the installation.

  I see you are trying to activate the Web Services on the LaserJet P1102w. You can install this update: HP LaserJet P1102w Firmware Update Utilityand then try to enable Web Services. You will need to have a USB connected the printer to the computer to do the update.

  I installed the latest LaserJet driver from the HP website. Can I print using a USB connection. However I can not scan. If I open the HP Director, by clicking on the button Scan does nothing. If I open HP Scan I get a message: "no scanner available."

  I would recommend that download us the driver via Apple Software Update.

  Before we do that, we want to uninstall all incompatible software, you may have installed on your computer by running the uninstall HP program located under Applications > HP or Hewlett-Packard folder.

  Hi - I have a HP Elitebook6930P running Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 and a printer HP Deskjet 970Cxi with a USB connection.

  I try to get printing to work.

  There is a 970Cxi pilot in the laptop, but it won't work.

  HP have a support document - "HP printers - installing year Alternate Print Driver in Windows 7 for a USB connection cable" - and I tried to follow this exactly a number of times without success.

  The problem is that it is inaccurate and contains instructions that do not work and refers to procedures that do not exist in Windows 7.

  Therefore, I have no success in the conclusion. I can not communicate with HP for assistance, or no explanation as to why their document will not so blatant.

  Can anyone help please?

  I can locate is no longer the installation disc for my my old Canon Pixma iP 2600 printer.  I am able to install it w / add it as a printer in the Control Panel, but the Office feature fails to read that the printer is connected via the usb cord.  I'm not find no possibility to install it as a usb printer.  Please help as soon as possible.  I can't afford to replace the printer and I have several documents that I need to print today or early tomorrow, or there will be dire financial complications for me.  I NEVER had that problem w/Dell.  (the operating system is windows 7, which is exactly what I was running on my old dell model - I searched this forum and find a similar question, but that the consultant has been able to find a usb option in the drop down menu to the port facility.)  that option is absent in my attempts).

  Interestingly, I discovered (after wasting a ton of time online and on the phone w/less useful HP tech) that the problem was in the two faulty usb ports on the front of this new processor.  at this point, I plan to return to the model of costco and return to dell.  Thank you for your help.

  Every two days that a there's something blocking the printer and it won't power on. (I see many posts that references the problems of people with sleep cycle, but I think it's different).

  It happens to where when you press to feed it upwards, he travels a short start-up test and stop it right down immediately. Only reboot never correcting something. I tried the voddo to unplug the power cord at the back for a while. Usually, I end up having to remove and reinstall the entire system. I connected via USB - wireless seems like a dream until I get the USB connection sorted. I don't have installation CD so I am at the mercy of the drivers that windows is striking automatically across, but I have a test page to migrate all the data if this is useful.

  When I don't have work I got it check for updated firmware and drivers and still it says it's updated. I think that there are 'better' install files to use for a permanent solution?

  I have only a single network and my hp desktop computer is connected wireless to the router.

  I am on Windows 7 Professional and Norton Internet Security 2011 and everything is updated.

  I contacted AT & T support, but as usual their help was worthless.  Any advice would be appreciated because I spent many hours trying to over come this problem but nothing works.

  Hey, big progress. Now I can e - print from my Mac.

  I said, the struggle for the IP address was a step toward printing of my Mac.

  Now the printer is conectrd to a PC with Windows 10.

  The Mac is remote and I managed to: get the IP address and the code for the printer and print my first page via e-print now!

  Even better would be to print directly via wifi.

  I am new to Mac and not very techno, however I seem to have solved this problem myself.

  I think that after turning to 'Maverick' on my Mac OS Lion, duplicate the printer as 2 showed in 'utility '.

  "I basically deleted that was not'online ' or 'connected '.

  I have an Office Jet 4500 G510n and a MacBook Pro 15 2006 2 late model, worm 10.6.8

  I upgraded to an SSD HD and everything works find except the printer. I can go to the utility and the TEST PAGE prints OK.

  However, the STATUS, it reads: "error/library/Printers/hp/cups/inkjet1.driver/contents/macos/injet/failed."

  I checked the drivers and all I saw were for the Page 'extra '...

  Lost!

  Research on the HP support site, I found that under Mac OSX, they auto download updates for printing. Did not transfer my old HD to a SSD who follow these updates... they do not have. Then... I downloaded all updates (pilot) to my new SSD and the works of the HP printer!
