MacBook Pro won't restart and has vertical lines that go down the scree.

Recently, my macbook pro to update so I rebooted. To do this, the computer turns on and starts the update but there are lines running down the screen. To about 1/4 of the way through, the screen turns gray, and then shuts down and restarts the process again. I ran a test of equipment and he came without any problem. Is there a way to fix this without going through Apple.

What model of MacBook Pro?

Maybe this problem.
