Yesterday, my wife downloaded and installed MacKeeper as soon as I got it I got it removed. But the damage has been done... I think so...

On LittleSnitch, I noticed some weird programs are connecting:

Never seen these google search does not know these too... What are my options...

You have installed one or more variants of the malware ad-injection "VSearch. Please back up all data, and then take the steps below to disable it.

Do not use any type of product, "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" on a Mac. It is never necessary for her, and relying on it for protection makes you more vulnerable to attacks, not less.

Malware is constantly evolving to work around defenses against it. This procedure works now, I know. It will not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a couple of days or more after it was published should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.

VSearch malware tries to hide by varying names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming model.

1 triple - click on the line below on this page to select, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination:

/Library/LaunchDaemons

In the Finder, select

Go ▹ go to the folder...

from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens by pressing command + V. You won't see what you pasted a newline being included. Press return.

A folder named "LaunchDaemons" can open. If this is the case, press the combination of keys command-2 to select the display of the list, if it is not already selected.

There should be a column in the update Finder window. Click this title two times to sort the content by date with the most recent at the top. Please don't skip this step. The files that belong to an instance of VSearch will have the same date of change within about a minute, so they will be grouped together when you sort the folder this way, which makes them easy to identify.

Search in the folder with the name of all these forms:

com.something.daemon.plist

com.something.Helper.plist

com.something .net - preferences.plist

Here, something is a string, which may be different in each instance of VSearch random meaningless. So far it has always been an alphanumeric string without punctuation signs, such as "disbalance" or "thunderbearer."

You may have more than one copy of the malware, with different values of something.

There may be one or more files with the name of this form:

com.somethingelseUpd.plist

where George can be an empty string of sense that something different. Yet once, there may be more than one file of this type, with different values of Gisele.

Here is a typical example of an infection VSearch:

com.disbalance .net - preferences.plist

com.thunderbearerUpd.plist

You will have files with similar names, but probably not identical to these.

If you feel confident that you have identified the files above, drag only the files - nothing - to the trash. You may be prompted for administrator login password. Close the Finder window.

2. open this folder as in step 1:

/Library/LaunchAgents

Move to the trash all the files with the name of the form

com.something.agent.plist

where something is one of the strings that you found in step 1. There may be not all of these files.

3. If you have whatever it is moved to the trash in step 1 and step 2, restart the computer and empty the trash.

Do not remove the folder 'LaunchAgents' or "LaunchDaemons", or anything else inside of one or the other, unless you know you have another type of unwanted software and more VSearch. Records are a normal part of Mac OS X. The terms "agent" and "demon" is a reference to a program that starts automatically. This is not inherently bad, but the mechanism is sometimes exploited by hackers for malicious software.

4 reset the home page in each of your browsers, if it has been modified. In Safari, first load the desired home page, then select

▹ Safari preferences... ▹ General

and click on

Set on the current Page

The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you reinstall it never. A few small files will be left behind, but they have no effect, and trying to find all them is more trouble that it's worth.

5. If you do not find the files or you are not sure about the identification, after what you have found.

If in doubt, or if you have no backups, change nothing at all.

Never install software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or which has been downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.

In the aspect of security & confidentiality of system preferences, select the general tab. The marked anywhere radio button should not be selected. If this is the case, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, and then select an other keys. After that, do not ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown Director.

Then, still in system preferences, open the pane of the App Store or software update and check the box marked

Install the system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later version)

Automatically download the updates (OS X 10.9 or earlier version)

If it is not already done.

Photos about El Capitan with iCloud library active lose local photos?

Recently, I wanted to use iCloud library to have a backup of my personal memories cloud. I had my library set up in the Photos of El Capitan and allowed iCloud photo library. It is still downloading but I have known a few disruptive effects.

Then, suddenly, I realize that a few pictures and movies have an exclamation point. Clicking on it it tells me that the photo was not able to find the original file, or sometimes he says he wasn't able to download the original to iCloud and I should try again later.

The thing is: I'm on the Mac, where is the main library of Photos. Must download from here. He is the master copy. Why pictures removed some local files in the first place and try to upload them to iCloud again when he should just have this file on the local hard drive? This happened to someone?

By logging into iCloud.com and go in the Photos app, I can see the movie file is there. So he managed to download there, thank God. But how can I re - link the file missing to this copy iCloud again?

Here are my questions for this situation.

(4) if nothing helps and I see that iCloud got all original and everything is there, but local library refuses to get the original to iCLoud files, how can I reset my local iPhoto library and redownload all icloud without endangering my album, photos, videos and all the settings and changes I made?

1 - iCloud iPhoto Library s not a backup - it is a method of sharing to ensure that libraries on multiple devices are the same - all changes made on any device are made on all

2 - doe photos not "remove" anything - users - if something is missing it's because of the action of the user

3 - Although what you see does not sound as if it was your problem before you start making changes allow the process to complete stabilize - during the downloading process things can be wobbly

4. There is no smart album to identify the missing originals

5. in the preferences Photos do youhave that it set to download the originals on the Mac or use photos optimized?

Can you change "hint" property on a text box or a button?
I am using Captivate 5 and I did a recording in Autmoatic-> training Mode. I want that my advice to appear on the screen when the screen is loaded, not when the user hovers over the interactive realm.

Tips usually appear during reversal as (perhaps) some users should not a suspicion. You can even choose to have no indication at all.

It does not insert a text caption and make it appear at the beginning of the slide and probably not stay until the end of the slide. In this text of legend, you can put what you want, or possibly to copy the text of the legend of suspicion (and then delete the Hint caption). Those are the steps:
- Insert a text caption (using the vertical toolbar, second button insertion, the Standard objects, legend text
- Choose a provision of the text caption in the property inspector (layout of the text box, character in the region in general, properties of character and Format)
- Insert your text (possibly to copy the text of the legend of suspicion and paste it into the text of the legend)
- Check the calendar for the text of the legend: he'll be here at the beginning of the slide, but if the blade is longer than the default 3 sec, he won't be there until the end of the slide, you can extend with Inspector properties (region of duration), or more easily by using the shortcut key CTRL-E with the legend of text selected in the timeline panel
- by default, a text caption has a transition Fade in and Fade out; you could change it in the property inspector, Transition region.
Another possibility is to use a rectangle (rounded), you can put text in there too. You can find an explanation for this blog:

To clarify the issue and the scenario, one of my friend described a typical scenario in which there are 2 AEs. AE1 has an ISP in its port WAN and AE2 has a different ISP in its WAN port. This 2 AE can mutually connected between them by using ports LAN AE1 and AE2 ethernet cable? He said this could be feasible if AE2 remained in bridged mode, without using the ISP attached to its WAN port. I just don't get how this is possible. Friends of the search help.

I was reading messages on how to remove the virus Mackeeper from Mac.

Nothing worked until I removed a hidden folder named "Myshopmate" in the list of applications (you can see the list of applications through 'Finder'). Would like to know if this is what makes the means by which the virus Mackeeper is that hides behind.

Myshopmate is an adware and is independent of MacKeeper which is practically malware itself. Remove the two with uninstalling programs provided. If you have trouble with Myshopmate, download and run MalwareBytes.

I have a macbook pro mid 2012 running El Capitan 10.11.5.

last night I went to the new site of mackeeper (not a pop-up) and downloaded and bought (via paypal) kromtech mackeeper 3.11.3 version (1407). all goes well until now, but I'm panic after reading the reviews right now (my eldest son has just warned me). My cousin has been around and helped to check something on my computer.

Stay on the Page/move with text/pull on my hair

I asked this question before and yet I'm still terrible problems with my graphics flies over the text document when I add more text. I'm not able to find the archives with the answers that people have written to me.

I need to write a series of laboratory reports and using a terrible time amount to try to put the images in place. I do not receive a flow of text running. Even in sections that I created, some of the images floated back up to the top of the section and are sitting there tight. I am not able to move.

Here is an example of a problem: I inserted a scatterplot and written my text. I click on the tab "move with the text." The Text wrap tab chooses spontaneously "Inline with the text. My plot is moved to the left column - but I don't want that here. I need to add a small annotation. I'm not able to merge the plot toward the Center where the function of "In line with text" does not allow this.

Basically, I try and change all the figures and plots to "Move with the text", but they tend to change to 'Stay on the Page' when I look away.

Now, I wonder if I shouldn't open a new document in layout? This way I can add all my numbers for the section of the results in place holders. But what I can combine "Text Layout" sections "Page Layout"?

I really want to go back to Microsoft Word. I would like to become proficient with Pages - and of course to learn my lab equipment!

Each object, with the exception of a table when it is inserted in a document of v5.6.2 Pages, has its object set to Move with text placement and its set to automatic text wrapping. To keep your images of richocheting around your document out of your control, or push a the other, visit the reorganize with the selected image tab and change skin to zero. Now you can place pictures anywhere in your body text.

Unlike Word, Pages v5.6.2 doesn't have a convenient annotation tool, and we need to position and an oblong text box that contains the annotation group - under the image.

The photos full size will always go to the cloud. They also remain on (or download) your Mac depends on if 'Download this Mac originals' or 'Optimize Mac storage' is ticked in Photos > Preferences > iCloud. If it is enabled, it also depends on how much storage is available on your Mac.

Running the current software Mini and 10.6.8 on an older laptop.

The two blinking MacKeeper and other advertising windows. I deleted cookies several times and checked the popup block, but to no avail.

This sounds like adware. I wrote a small diagnostic program to help show what adware is installed. Download EtreCheck from http://www.etrecheck.com, run it and paste the results here. EtreCheck is perfectly safe to run, don't request your password to install and is signed with my developer Apple ID.

If adware is installed, EtreCheck will help remove you, although you may need to provide a password. If you are not comfortable with that, just after the report of EtreCheck here and other AIDS can tell you exactly which files should be deleted and the way to do it.
