Magic Trackpad 2 twinning as a mouse instead of a trackpad

I'm trying to pair my magic trackpad 2 for my macbook pro and it maintains the pairing as a mouse instead of a trackpad. This means that my actions do not work, tap-to-click does not work, and tracking speed is out of sync with the trackpad that comes with the laptop. The strange thing is that it will correctly pair as a trackpad for my friend pro macbook right next to me. Is there a way can I fix? I tried to disconnect the unit several times.

  • The Magic Trackpad 2 first plan window Focus problem

I had the strangest question with my Magic Trackpad 2 on El Capitan (10.11.3.) When I am in the window of one application and tap/click to another application window, application of the new window comes to the foreground, but the old app is still under discussion. So if I try a keypad at this stage or type text, is what actually performing in the old app and not the new foreground application.

For example, suppose that I open Safari and TextEdit and I am browsing a page in Safari. 50% of the time if I use my Magic Trackpad 2 to tap or click on in the document window empty TextEdit of Safari, TextEdit window will come in the home of prominent and Safari will be the background window, but if I start typing the text or press CMD - N to a new document, it will operate on Safari instead of TextEdit. This is just one example - literally, it happens with any application.

I messed with all: accessibility for the Trackpad, trackpad settings, settings etc. No background apps or mouse extension installed applications. Tried both wireless and connected via cable to the lightning. Magic Mouse does not appear to have this problem, Trackpad 2 only.

Anyone else having this problem? It drives me crazy and makes use of the Magic Trackpad 2 on OS X pretty useless.

  • Driver for Apple Magic Trackpad with Win7

I have an Apple Magic Trackpad and connected my laptop Dell's Latitude under Win7 64 - bit OS. Only the basic function of moving the mouse on the screen works, and none of the better features work... Is there another driver I need to install to these additional features work?

You have to ask the author of the article to be sure of what they heard - but my impression is that there are people who want to use this hardware device on an ordinary PC - nothing to do with Apple in some other way than, say, this device.  For example, they have a Dell Precision Workstation Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 edition, and they bought the "Apple Magic Trackpad' and the desire to connect to the Dell Precision Workstation running Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 Edition when there is not a single Apple computer in sight.

Now - you could also conclude that instead of worrying about all the specific stuff Bootcamp, you just to use your installation of Windows 7 with the steps (ignoring the fact that it is one thing to BootCamp on your Mac) and get the unit installed in Windows 7 - treatment as the other operating system of Windows 7 is really.

However, in the end, it's like any other hardware device.  If the hardware manufacturer supports the use of devices on a given operating system and provides appropriate and software drivers to do - you are golden (you can do).  If the hardware vendor does not support devices on a given operating system and thus does not provide the proper drivers and software to do this - you're out of luck (probably can't do - unless some person or enterprising company makes it happen for you.)

As for Bootcamp, it is another word for multi-boot even if also virtualize and run your Windows 7 inside of OS X but also actually boot from your Windows 7 partition.  This means that to all intents and purposes - when you start Windows 7 on your Apple computer, treat him as you would for a non - Apple PC with Windows 7 installed - because that * is * what it is.  ;-)

  • Magic Trackpad 2 unwanted clicks

My Magic Trackpad 2 is almost unusable because of the unwanted clicks. I ' Tap to click on ' disabled, 'Secondary click' disabled, 'Force' disabled, and 'Click' value 'business '. However, as I lightly drag my finger on the trackpad, it clicks occasionally. Similarly, click-and - drag is almost impossible, because even if I am dragging, with the thumb pressing down to the click and the slippery finger for the movement, the trackpad to slam just yet without waking up my thumb. Well, sometimes simple clicks (actual pressing down) turn into double-tap-, I can hear the trackpad rapidly clicking twice despite me only once.

Does anyone have an idea what can happen and how to remedy? I don't think that the camera is broken, because it's fairly new.

  • Use the Magic Trackpad to Bypass built in Trackpad

Genius diagnosed bad trackpad in my MacBook 2012. Rather than sending repair ($310), I bought Magic Trackpad 2 to work around the problem. Engineering directed me to go to the preference of accessibility, and then click "Ignore built in mouse or trackpad when wireless trackpad is present." I've had that happen and that you can use Magic Trackpad 2 to point and click HOWEVER no other features are available. I can't tap, pinch, rotate, etc. When I click on Preferences of the Magic Trackpad 2, I see a screen indicating that the trackpad prefs are disabled, with no way to turn on the features of the Magic Trackpad 2. Anyone know how I can release all the Magic Trackpad 2 features while ignoring the built in trackpad?

As long as the built-in trackpad is not interfering with your comments in a way (for example causing unwanted movements of the cursor) I would have thought you could disable 'ignore' and just use the external trackpad.

  • The Magic Trackpad stopped working properly after the upgrade

Hello. I tried to solve a problem with my magic trackpad for two weeks now, and I'm running out of ideas, so I thought I'd see if anyone has any. I have a Macbook Pro 2011 who bought second-hand, and the trackpad has never worked properly in this respect, he was always nervous. Fortunately, I wanted to use my magic trackpad with her anyway and have done so since then. I had problems over the years where he selects or done some weird things, but I just had to press the power button / stop, then esc to get back to work. However, now, I have a serious question that I can't solve since I've upgraded to the latest version of El Capitan.

Now the magic trackpad and the laptop trackpad work very well at the start, but when my Mac wakes up from sleep, I can no longer tap or 'left click' on the magic trackpad, or the built-in trackpad. I can't select the programs or click on anything whatsoever. The only way to get my mac works again is to switch off the magic trackpad, and that integrated then starts working again. I can't simply turn the other back a new if, it does the same thing again until I turn it off.

I tried the following and had no change:

-Removal of all bluetooth devices and add the trackpad again

    -Deleting files plist bluetooth

    -Reset the SMC

    -Reset the PRAM

-Turn off bluetooth devices in addition to the macbook

    -Disconnect the magsafe adapter

Someone at - it any other suggestions?

  • The simultaneous use of two Apple Magic Trackpad 2

    Hello

I just wanted to know, if it is possible to use simultaneously both Apple Magic Trackpad 2? I use Macbook Pro with the retina, early 2015.

For those of you who are wondering why on earth I would use two touchpads at the same time, well, I am a PhD student who has the massive library of pdf documents (articles of journals, e-books, reports, Web pages, etc.) in my computer. I found myself hundreds of documents in pdf format every day looking for scrolling. It is such a pleasure to use the trackpad for this purpose because it is very accurate and it seems natural. I stopped using any kind of mouse for the year last due to carpal syndrome.

I do not use trackpad on the Macbook in construction because it makes my hand to bend into an uncomfortable position and it is very uncomfortable. Besides, I also use the base of laptop and my Macbook screen is positioned at the same level as my eyes.

I wish I had a second trackpad because I usually use both hands to scroll through documents, and I don't want to move the trackpad because I become entitled to Apple keyboard in the middle. Thus, a trackpad for each hand. It's all about the ergonomics of the workspace.

From now on, I already have a trackpad that is connected to my Mac. And that will be the second if connected trackpad, also has its own battery status in the system preferences of the trackpad?

You will almost certainly find that they will not interfere with each other.

I just bought a 2014 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5, Mac Mini and the Magic Trackpad 2 but I can't match the trackpad. When I connect the trackpad by using the usb cable, the functions of a mouse, but the bluetooth does not. I caught a third party mouse, who plugged, unplugged the trackpad and was able to get the pair via bluetooth; However, when I open the Trackpad settings, it says that it cannot find the trackpads. I would obviously like to be able to configure the trackpad and see how much load is on it, but I can't do it without the paired properly.

Are you running at El Capitan (OS X 10.11.2)?  Which is necessary for all the features of the new mouse and trackpad.

  • Magic Trackpad 2 very good, but too sensitive?

    Hello

I just magic keyboard and trackpad, second version two, to use with my mid-2015 15 "MBP 2.8. I am very happy with them, but I was wondering if there is a way to reduce the sensitivity of the magic trackpad. I fly over for a second something it opens, or verified, or...

I checked Sys Prefs, didn't really see something but perhaps to that I don't know what I'm looking for.

Any ideas to make it less sensitive?

    The best

    Elmer

    Hello Elmerlang,

Have you looked at this?   Go to the Apple logo (upper-left) > System Preferences > Trackpad.   At the top are three options.  Choose to point and click.

Then you can play with the click (beginning in middle), then follow-up speed (about three places from the left).

And that still leaves room to go to less sensitive.

    Good luck.
