  Please follow the steps below:

  1. Disable apply tone controls auto under Lightroom preferences > Presets tab
  2. Restart Lightroom and then import images again.

  Cannot be done.

  What you see when you open a file in Lightroom is the camera that is embedded in the Raw file jpeg Preview: after a few seconds Lightroom generates its own preview, with the effect you describe.

  There is no way round this - you have to adjust the Lightroom settings to resemble results in the desired device and save the settings as the new default values.

  Before importing anything, go to file > project settings > General and change the GPU acceleration for playback (software only) Mercury engine and see if that fixes the problem.

  My colleague and I are discussing is necessary or advisable, to rebuild the index after a schema import.
  
  My thought is that the index data are implemented cost blocks thus creating a tree of very flat index without any fragmentation.
  But my colleague suspect that perhaps the blocks are built exactly as they existed in the source database.
  
  I could perhaps understand if the update was performed using RMAN that copies the block by block, but even in this case, I'm not sure.

  In my view, all indexes of normal type are created 'new' as part of the import process.
  This would include the B-tree, bitmap, based on a function, etc.

  I'm confused about methods to apply compression without loss for the DNG files. I've used this successfully before but am currently unable to reproduce this function with LR2.

  I have a compression without loss for DNG defined in preferences. I import the files from the card and application of a change to the file, for example, WB, then click Update metadata and preview as a workaround. However the file sizes do not seem to change.

  Since I open DNG in another converter in ACR too I am confused where the lossless compression has been applied previously.

  I don't think that in the workflow that you describe is there a possibility for data must be compressed by Lightroom. Update of metadata in dng file does not have the RAW data, so it is normal that the file size does not change.

  You can set the component import up to "copy photos in dng. I think this re-compress the dng, but I've never owned a camera that uses dng as a native format, so I'm not sure about this. Otherwise, you can after importation "convert photo to DNG" from the Edit menu. This should also convert files that already are dng.
