He said "no file found" but I see here.
I have this file on my desktop named "001.", he says the file type is just 'file', and when I try to move or rename or something it says 'Could not find point' but it's right there. I tried to release, I tried a file shredder, I restarted the computer, and it's still there. How can I get rid of him?
Hello
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
- What is the location of the file?
- Have you an error when you try to open it?
- Have you created your own file or it was created automatically? You have all the data saved in the computer?
- If it was created automatically, then what changes have been made to the computer before the show?
If you think it might be a virus problem, and then run Microsoft Safety Scanner and check. It can scan and remove viruses from the computer. You can download it from the link below.
http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspxNote: the data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.
I hope this helps. Please get back to us if you need further assistance.

1. what operating system is installed on the computer?
2. were there any changes (hardware or software) to the computer before the show?
Method 1: perform the scan SFC (System File Checker) and see if the problem occurs.
Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe)
Method 2: clean boot the computer and see if it helps.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Hello
1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
2. what security software is installed on your computer?
I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.
Method 1:
Run the fixit from Microsoft Fixit article and if that helps.
Solve the problems of Windows Media Player video and other media or library:
http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_media_player_diagnostic/
Method 2:
Disable the security software and check if it helps.
Disable the antivirus software:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software
Warning: If you need to temporarily disable the security software, you should reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Method 3:
Try the steps in the following article from Microsoft to synchronize a device with Windows Media Player and see if it helps.
Set up a device to sync in Windows Media Player:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/set-up-a-device-to-sync-in-Windows-Media-Player
Hope the information is useful.

It is above all an extension of Adobe: http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/pdd. None of these programs can open files.
Here is a free product that I think will do the trick (although it does not specifically say the DPS files, I read an article from someone who has exactly your problem and this product was recommended: http://www.xnview.com/en/xnview.html.)
The following willl convert files DP in more readable (like JPG) file types- but it's a commercial product (even if it has a 30 day free trial, then maybe you can accomplish what you need in this period and then cancel the trial) - and then find a way to burn photos using a different file type. http://www.batchconverter.com/,
Here is a link to a bunch of file viewers and converters for Windows free (but I can't tell if they are compatible with Vista or if they deal with the DPS files because they do not provide enough information. http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/imageviewfreewin/Free_Image_Viewers_and_Browsers_for_Windows.htm,
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

Please note: this is the opposite of what people usually describe their problem in.
I have Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.
My favicon display correctly in the Explorer of files (file mode) but display correctly in Internet Explorer. This intrigues me. When I open the Internet Explorer, icons for Favorites OK show to the left of the name of the shortcut file in the Favorites bar and the Favorites bar. However, when I open Windows File Explorer and check out my favorites and folders, the FavIcons are the generic icons globe, not specific icons to websites that shortcuts point to. The links work well. It's just that the FavIcons are generic globes. (Not all, but many). I want the correct FavIcons to show in the view of Windows File Explorer.
I tried to revisit web sites and dragging the URL (and favicon) of the bar of address of IE in the "Favorites" folder again. Who has not solved the problem. I tried to go to the page of the site and to type the favicon.ico extension and save it, but windows won't let me save it. (Where can they be saved? And how would be attributed to the shortcut in the file Explorer file? Or is it not the way to solve the problem?)
Is there a way to fix this without having to download an app/program? Is there a way to solve this problem without changing the registry? Or is the simple registry change?
I want the correct Favicons to display in the file Explorer, and Internet Explorer.
Please answer in plain English, not in words irritable. If you propose a procedure, please explain where everything is (how to find things click on what you recommend.)
Thanks in advance for the help.
IT IS THE ANSWER. A MODERATOR WOULD MARK IT AS THE ANSWER, OR REPLY TO IT, SO I CAN MARK THE ANSWER. IT SEEMS ABSURD THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO POST AN ANSWER TO OUR QUESTION AND POWER OF THE BRAND AS THE ANSWER. Thank you.
I searched and found the answer. Also, I realized I had encountered this problem about two years ago and had saved the info of the solution in a Notepad file. On the site, the answer given by Chris H is the solution. It is to delete the icon cache of .db database and allowing windows to create a new. My problem was that the favicons for several favorite shortcuts of IE showed the purple globe (ugly) credits. After that I deleted the icon cache database file, a new file has been created and my favicons are correct for each shortcut.
(Both methods are given in the he.) I list the instructions for the first method, which worked for me. You can click on this page for more information).
There are a few things you can try:
First: (icon Cache regeneration)
1. open Folder Options to select (round) display the hidden files and folders.
2. open a Windows Explorer window.
3. go to C:\Users\(User Name) \AppData\Local
4. right click on IconCache.db and click on delete.
5. click on Yes to confirm the deletion.
NOTE: This deletes the file to the trash. It is safe to empty the trash when you are done.
6. close the window.
7 empty the trash.
8 restart the computer.
9. When you return, you'll notice the size of the file IconCache.db is reduced, and the update is now the current date.
NOTE: If for some reason any IconCache.db isn't there or the size has not changed much, then just restart the computer again. You may need to restart a few times in some cases.
10. the icon cache has been rebuilt.
11. Open Folder Options to select (round) do not show the hidden files and folders.Similar instructions can be found here:

Hello
In Event Viewer, I see a lot of mistakes like:
Source: The customers DNS events
There was an error trying to read the local hosts file.
I read that threat indicating to rename the hosts for "hosts" file
http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-networking/system-log-shows-repeating-error-code-3221225485/3700e855-ded4-4F12-960f-1577f6132c04
HOWEVER, the name of the file in my computer appears as it should
C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc / "hosts".
and the content of the file is as it is supposed to be according to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972034
What should I do to fix this error?
P.S. I suspect my computer is compromised. Last weekend, Security Essentials has reported a malicious file backdoor and it has been deleted, but I have a weird behavior of the computer
Thank you
Veronica
Try to re-create the hosts file.
Open Notepad as administrator (click right on the Notepad icon or shortcut and click Run as admin) and type the following information in it:
127.0.0.1 localhost
: 1 localhost
The '1' in the '127.0.0.1' must be in the first column of the line and there must be at least one space between "127.0.0.1" and "localhost". In the second line, there must be at least one space between ": 1" and "localhost".
Save the file with name "hosts" in the C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc folder.

You seem to have a hard drive problem. Please provide a copy of your system information file. Type the system information in the search box above the Start button and press the ENTER key (alternative is select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, system information). Select file, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Not to place the cursor in the body of the report before exporting the file. The system creates a new information file system each time system information is available. You must allow a minute or two before the file is completely filled before exporting a copy. Please download to your OneDrive (formerly Sky Drive), share with everyone and post a link here. Normal mode preferred report. Please say if the report was obtained in safe mode.

saveAs: replace files or ask what to do?
It's one of those situations where I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but with too little knowledge that I there are many potentially Miss. in any case, enough self-deprecating...
This script came from a discussion I found ages there are that match what I had to do in time. I don't remember the exact discussion but Larry G.S. he rounded up and posted this:
********************************************************** Place_JPG_to_AI.jsx DESCRIPTION This script gets files specified by the user from the selected folder and batch processes them and saves them as AIs in the user desired destination with the same file name. Modified from Adobe supplied scripts and scripts by Carlos Canto on Illustrator Scripting by Larry G. Schneider **********************************************************/ // uncomment to suppress Illustrator warning dialogs app.userInteractionLevel = UserInteractionLevel.DONTDISPLAYALERTS; var destFolder, sourceFolder, files, fileType; // Select the source folder. sourceFolder = Folder.selectDialog( 'Select the folder containing M.E.T. JPEG files', '~' ); // If a valid folder is selected if ( sourceFolder != null ) { files = new Array(); // Get all files with JPEG extension files = sourceFolder.getFiles("*.jpg"); if ( files.length > 0 ) { // Get the destination to save the files destFolder = Folder.selectDialog( 'Select the folder where you want to save the AI files.', '~' ); for ( i = 0; i < files.length; i++ ) { var idoc = app.open(File("/G/Design & Publishing/Elements/Master Templates/Re-Engineering Templates/Illustrator/MET Template 106.82x60.ai")); // open template document. Change the file path for different templates var ilayer = idoc.layers["Image"]; var iplaced = ilayer.placedItems.add(); // add image place holder iplaced.file = (files[i]); // place file var PosXY=new Array(2); // ensure position is 0,0 PosXY[0]=0; PosXY[1]=0; iplaced.position = PosXY; iplaced.embed(); ilayer.dimPlacedImages = false; // do not dim images ilayer.locked = true; // lock layer ilayer.printable = true; var docName = (files[i].name.split('.'))[0]; // take the first part of the placed file name for the new document var destFile = new File(destFolder + "/" + docName + ".ai"); // make a new file in the dest folder var options = new IllustratorSaveOptions(); // new save options options.compatibility = Compatibility.ILLUSTRATOR15; // save as AICS5. May want to update if we go to CC options.pdfCompatible = true; // needs to be set to view links in InDesign // Export as AI idoc.saveAs(destFile, options); // save the file in the dest folder idoc.close(SaveOptions.DONOTSAVECHANGES); // close the file without saving } alert( 'Files are saved as AI in ' + destFolder ); } else { alert( 'No matching files found.' ); } } app.userInteractionLevel = UserInteractionLevel.DISPLAYALERTS
I edited bits for our purposes, but it is basically the same. the user selects a folder with JPEG files, a folder of dest, and the script puts the JPEG images on my model and saves them to the original file name. However, sometimes the user will need to do this several times in the same folder of dest and will not necessarily know what JPEG files they already did. so they eventually overwrite files that may already have been worked on (the names cannot be changed afterwards for some reason very annoying and irritating).
what they would like, in this case, is for the script to advise when files with this filename already existing in the dest folder (but work normal otherwise). I thought just turn DISPLAYALERTS turn it on could do it (since that's what saveAs does when you go there manually) but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I can't find clues in the reference, but then I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for.
any help or pointers no matter what level of detail welcome.
