Manage a WCS by SNMP

Hello

I will need to supervise a SNMP remotely through WCS (version 4.2).

Can what mib I use to get information such as CPU used on the WCS, space free hard disk, number of AP, number of rogue AP, number of LWAPP tunnels, number of users of wifi connected at all points?

Kind regards

You'll have to ask the WLC and not of WCS.  The application of WCS is unresponsive to SNMP requests.

The best for homelessness must have WLC, authentication management. Now, if there is a WAN link rather slow in the game, perhaps, he retorted the initial advantage of it.

In this case REAP H groups will allow roaming between aps hreap seemless.

In any case, it does not hurt to combine your APs in Hreap groups. It can only help. So ... :-)

  • WLSE and WCS

    Help!

I intend implementation of 10-15 s AP in my company. I don't need a lot, but I want a ssid and the ability to walk between access points without losing the connection. The cost is a little problem as well. In my view, there is an area called 2.13 to express the Cisco Wireless LAN Solution. Now this box as terribly cheap. Makes me wonder. Every time I thought a lot about this, I so with the price of the WCS of 25 reviews 4400, 7 times the price upward. Now, I've been Googling my fingers numb, but I can't really know what is distinguished by a wcs and wlse solution. Can I use this box of Cisco Wireless LAN Solution Express 2.13 at little cost only a PoE switch and some radio stations? Or do I have as well a 6500 with a controller wlse switch? because then; the 4400 would be cheaper.

    Appreciate the help,

    \\mark

    Hi Mark,

This is a big topic of discussion! Haha, I hope I can help with some basic information. The two solutions as you watch (WLSE vs WLC/WISN/WCS) are for two different architectures wireless. The WLSE is for 'stand-alone' access points, and the WISN/WLC/WCS are all for "lightweight" access points

The fundamental difference between the two is that autonomous architecture is a distributed design, while the lightweights are centralized. Here are some details:

    AUTONOMOUS

Each access point runs any himself. It must be set up individually for all SSID and VLAN. A WLSE device can be used to manage multiple APs via SNMP, but it's a manual process. A WLSE can also help the management of radio, as the channel design, but it is still a very manual process.

    LIGHT WEIGHT

Access points are not individually configured. They must join a wireless LAN (WLC) controller to operate. They can find the controller automatically, and when they do they download a configuration. They work with the help of the controller. The controller takes the information of all the APs and adjusts dynamically the channels and power radio as needed to optimize the network. The WLC is the only device that you need to manage since it manages all the APs for you.

It's a view VERY high level of the two models. Long story short, stand-alone solutions require usually more work to manage, and lightweight demand less. You are just looking to run 10-15 access points, so a light solution probably won't pay off as it would if you were installing 100 +. This does not mean that you don't have light, but it might not be useful the extra cost.

Once again, very complicated subject and I hope that gives you a better understanding that will help you when Googling. Try Googling light autonomous vs, you'll find some good articles.

  • Spotlight uses SNMP?

    Hello

We have projector beam; Spotlight on messaging worm. 7.5 & spotlight on Windows version 3.82.

I'm new to the spotlight.  I was ask by management if Spotlight uses SNMP if so which version of the SNMP protocol?  I don't see Windows SNMP service running so I don't think it's using SNMP, but I need to be certain.

If Spotlight does not use the Protocol SNMP uses this Protocol for monitoring and if I could have a link to read about how followed and trap works in Spotlight?

    Thank you

    Naser

In the United States and the Canada, you can utiliser.800.306.9329 or 949.754.8000.  For other countries, you can get the phone number on this web page.

The latest version of spotlight on messaging was 7.9.  However, version 8.0 exists as it was renamed "Unified Communications command Suite - Diagnostics.

    I hope this helps.

  • MIB (SNMP) library as vWorkspace 8.5 and 8.0 MR1

    Hi all

I'm looking for MIB library to monitor a vWorkspace Envrionement 8.5 and 8.0 MR1 with PRTG monitoring software.

I already searched inside a foglight installation, but this very difficult, causing thousands of MIB

Are there recommendations or with the case of information (MIB) files.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me

    Kind regards

    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

We do not have the MIB files specifically for vWorkspace environments because I believe that we do not support SNMP.

What exactly you were trying to monitor? The built-in Diagnostics monitoring vWorkspace & who uses WinRM (or WMI) should give you everything you need to monitor your environment vWorkspace. He oversees infrastructure vWorkspace (hypervisors, VDI VMs, RDSH and from 8.6 RDL and WSM), user session and applications performance and also allows you to establish a correlation between the performance of the system with the user sessions and the ecosystem integer vWorkspace.

If you only want to use PRTG monitoring, I don't know how it works unfortunately. Do Paessler / PRTG have best practices on how to integrate with existing management platforms (other than SNMP MIB files)?

    Thank you

I am able to manage/monitor switches using SNMP without problems.

However when I use telnet/ssh it keeps throwing errors saying "1 has failed to authenticate. Please click here for a list of devices that have failed. "trying to manage these devices by default".

However the document says what needs to be written to the field ID to enable.

    I got it going!

  • Help to SNMP JIT

    Hello community of Cisco

Can someone please provide some guidance on how to create an EEM Applet to monitor an SNMP OID? In particular, I would like to know how to monitor State ospf neighbor.

The high level of ospfNbrState est.1.3.6.1.2.1.14.10.1.6 mib. However, the OID is not enough.

    For example

    Event Manager applet snmptest

    snmp oid 1.3.6.1.2.1.14.10.1.6 events poll_interval 2 get_type accurate entry_type value entry_op ge entry_val 1 exit_comb or exit_time 300 maxrun 20

    syslog «snmp test» action message

The action above will not be generated when there is a change of State of ospf.

Can someone please provide some guidance?

    See you soon

    Carlton

Oh, so that's a dynamic neighbor.  In this case, you might be better matching on syslog compared to polling messages.

  • WCS 4.2 - customer account

    Hi all

The deployment currently LWAPP project consists of 240 APs. I have 4 unit of 4400 wlc and managed through wcs 4.2.

The problem is, I can't get the number of customer goes to the Toilet. Even when there is connected clients the Dungeon page and graph showing the number 0.

I can see the good count via WLC customer individual web Mgmt. It is quite disappointing.

Any who have addressed this problem before?

    Very grateful for the help!

I've seen this when the code of the controller version was to 4.1.x and WCS was running version 4.2.

Once we upgraded wireless controllers, the number of customer was right.

    Hope this helps,

    -John

  • JIT will not work

    Hi all

Is someone can you please tell me why this JIT will not work?

    trap test1 event manager applet

snmp oid.1.3.6.1.2.1.14.10.1.6 get-type event exact entry operation input eq - val 'down' interval mark-2

Basically, the event must be fired if a neighbouring State of ospf is out of service.

    See you soon

    Carlton

This will not work for many reasons.  On the one hand, you cannot use an attack '.'.  Two, you don't have a forum here, and you use a get exact type.  Finally, this object returns an integer not a string.  The value of 'down' is 1.  It will work at least, but it is probably not what you want.  You'll need to find the next specific ID and route index:

    trap test1 event manager applet

    events snmp oid 1.3.6.1.2.1.14.10.1.6 get-type next entry-op eq entry-val 1-interval to mark 2

  • Problem with the VPN and NAT configuration

    Hi all

I have a VPN tunnel and NATing participates at the remote site.

I have the VPN tunnel from the absolutely perfect traffic from users, but I am struggling to manage the device via SNMP through the VPN tunnel.

    Remote subnet is 192.168.10.0/24

That subnet gets PAT'd to 192.168.4.254/32

The subnet to HQ is 10.0.16.0/24

IP address of the ASA remote is 192.168.10.10

Of course, as this subnet is NAT would have I created a static NAT so that the 192.168.4.253 translates 192.168.10.10.

I can see that packets destined to the 192.168.4.253 device address comes to the end of the tunnel as long as the number of packets decrypted increases when you run a continuous ping to the device.

However, the unit will not return these packages. The wristwatch that 0 packets encrypted.

Please let me know if you need more information, or the output of the configuration complete.

When I start a capture on the ASA remote, I don't see ICMP packets to reach the ASA REAL ip (192.168.10.10). Maybe I set my NAT evil?

Also, there is no Interface inside, only an Interface outside. And the default route points to the next router ISP Hop on the external Interface.

Hope that all of the senses.

    Thank you

    Mario Rosa

No, unfortunately you can not NAT the ASA outside the IP of the interface itself.

  • Configuration parameter "QueryThreshold".

    Hello!
I need to control the time of SQL execution.
Find the QueryThreshold parameter and try to install it.

    In the doc says:

    QueryThreshold

Use this attribute to write a warning in the log management and raise an SNMP trap when an SQL statement execution time exceeds the specified value. For queries executed by the replication agent, see Oracle TimesTen in-memory database TimesTen TimesTen replication Guide. You cannot set a threshold of query to a SQL statement that is executed by the agent cache. The value of QueryThreshold applies to all connections. It applies to all SQL statements except those performed by the agent of replication or cache.

The value of this attribute can be an integer equal or greater than 0. The default value is 0. A value of 0 indicates that no warning is issued. The unit is seconds.

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E13085_01/doc/TimesTen.1121/e13069/attribute.htm#autoId50

Configuration QueryThreshold in the sys.odbc.ini parameter.

    Tests...

If I connect through ttIsqlCS and run SQL which exceeded the QueryThreshold I get an error:
+ 6111: SQL query has reached its timeout limit and was finished.
    The command failed.
    and session disconect.

But, nothing to disconnect the client connection when execution of the SQL statement exceeded the QueryThreshold didn't say in the doc.
Direct connect (with ttIsql) everything works fine, wrote the warning message to the log file and do not disconnect the session.

Can someone explain to me please why it works if or how to control the execution of SQL without disconecting customer time?

What value do you have to QueryThreshold? How long have the query to run for? Had you set default values for SQLQueryTimeout or TTC_TIMEOUT?

For client/server connections (but not direct connections) there is a relationship between QueryThreshold, SQLQueryTimeout and TTC_TIMEOUT. Essentially, you must make sure that TTC_TIMEOUT is greater than QueryThreshold / SQLQueryTimeout or tTC_TIMEOUT is set to 0 (no timeout). By default (that is, if not overridden), TTC_TIMEOUT = 60 seconds and SQLQueryTimeout = 59 seconds.

Thge message you received (6111) is a result of SQLQueryTimeout and TTC_TIMEOUT of shooting.

Note QueryThreshold does not control the execution time of a query - quite simply, it records a message or generates a trap SNMPO if any query request exceeds this limit. If you want to place a real limit on the time a SQL (not just a query) operation can run for and then use SQLQueryTimeout and make sure that TTC_TIMEOUT is greater than the value used for SQLQueryTimeout because there are a few "blur" around firing of SQLQueryTimeout sifgnificantly (for example if you assign 59 then he cannot fire until a query worked 60 or even 61 seconds maybe longer).

  • WebCenter spaces & UCM - they both go in the same field?

I installed the two spaces & UCM and am at the stage where a domain is configured.
For installation vanilla, trying to keep things as simple as possible for a test environment, if all the spaces & UCM components light up on the same domain?
Or is there a reason I don't want to divide them?
(Yes, I clearly don't understand the domain part earlier!)
    Thank you

Certainly you want to put in the same field.
A domain does not mean that each component is deployed on the same server. A domain can have multiple servers.

You can watch a domain as a collection of servers that need to work together.
When you want to use UCM + Webcenter spaces you want because they are in the same domain in this way, you can manage the WCS and UCM using the same enterprise manager and console weblogic. If you create a separate domain, you have two different enterrpsie managers and weblogic console.
